{Ed007's Note - I don't know how much of this is out there but Lukasz Zaluska, Jackson Irvine, Joe Chalmers, John Herron, Dylan McGeouch, John Guidetti, Jason Denayer, Mubarak Wakaso & Alexander Tonev is the list I've got of players that have left the club.}

09 Jun 2015 00:03:44
checked there web site earlier Ed and most of all of the above are still there mate according to the site so no not at all much out there so thanks for that update disappointed in Irvine in particular if am honest!

The zombies have updated there squad and you want to have a gander for a chuckle 14 players in total and at least ten of them would not command a transfer fee :-)

{Ed007's Note - Ooopss... Let's hope I've not jumped the gun there! Remember technically players are under contract until the end of June.}

Chalmers is at Motherwell now.

Most if not all all the layers you mentioned Ed007 would be better gone . We need to make room to bring younger players through , hoping some of the younger players get fairly regular football next season .

Anyone who watched the Champions League on RTE 2.would have heard reference to Patrick O'Connell who saved Barcelona from extinction . Born in 1888 he played for a number of clubs including Belfast Celtic and Manchester United . He disappeared under a cloud to Spain and took up Management . He was very successful and won the ligule with Real Betis. He took over Barcelona in 1935 just before Franco's troops destroyed most of the city. He took Barcelona to Mexico and United States and raised money and safe guarded the club . On returning he arrived back with only 4 players , the rest stayed in U S and France . He rebuilt the club and Barcelona fans still recognise him as their savour .
Bertie Auld and John Clarke brought the European Cup to the Dublin City Council who had a night in his memory . They also unveiled a plague at the house of his birth. Right beside Croke Park .

Guidetti said in a swedish newspaper today that Deila didn't give him gametime cause he wouldn't sign, frustrated him. Christ.

Guidetti is a pr*ck! Talks one load of garbage! He didn't get a game because he hadn't kicked his arse In months! And wee griffiths is a better striker! I'm tellin u,watch what happens at his next club! It will be the same thing all over.then the next club after that! I hate when players like this open there big mouths after failing at a club!

He got more game time than most. Big cart horse if you ask me.

Makes you wonder what is the point of signing a player on a loan deal,is it because you think the loan player can give something to your team that it is currently missing and by signing and playing him ,your team is improved for the length of the loan,or is it a kind of trial run before you buy him on a permanent deal,was guidetti on a trial option and RD went in the huff when he realised guidetti didn't want to be here next year.

Agree0 Disagree1

08 Jun 2015 22:52:31
Well he did work pretty well in the first part of the season Aindoh, he did score goals and looked good in his first matches.
Then rumours of a permanent deal started but also rumours of other clubs wanting him, and one of them Feynoord and he suddenly stopped scoring and didn't look that happy.

Some days later he stated he wanted to go back to Feynoord and he didn't play much after that. He may have given Deila early signals that he wanted permanent deal with Celtic, only to pull the plug on the deal or he may have pissed Deila of in some other way.

I think something must have happened, cause Deila isn't a person to freeze you out just because you wouldn't sign a permanent deal.
Jo Inge Berget (Udinese), Marcus Pedersen (Vitesse) and Mohammed Abu (ManCity) were all loan players that improved the team and did what to expect in training and diets etc and they all where first team regulars.

as ena sharples said 'theres nowt as queer as folk',you don't know what's going on in somebody's head,a lot of footballs (most of) is about confidence and phycology ,am not sure about the diet and training thing,as a defining parameter,i would hope every professional would follow a proper diet and do well at training,but I know that there are some tortured souls,who don't like training and diets are at best described as alternative,but what if they perform on the field in what can only be described as genius ,do you leave them out of the team because they don't conform to your ideals.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jun 2015 06:20:43
Traning and diet is all, and what signal does it send if you don't want to do what all the others are doing? Should you be able to just surf through? Do you think Ronaldo skipped his training? or Messi his? No they are doing a lot more than the rest, to be the best. (pun intended, but not very good).
Its ok if he dosnt want to do the job, but don't expect to be a regular either. He isn't a swedish international, and the strikers they had last night, its only Zlatan that is class, so he should have been fighting for a spot. he never is, why is that? Zlatan was taken of after 60 minutes and after that Norway was the better team.
Im saying that its must be something with his attitude, reminds me a bit of Bentner, not a great professional.

Stefan Johansen, was one of Norways best players last night, with the exception of Martin Ødegaard. You could se the tempo drop a bit at the end, with Johansen still running around with full capasity, making breaks all over passing it to Ødegaard, who with a bit better finishing from the strikers, would have three assists.

physics, a good diet and tecknical training makes better players.

RD was right to keep him out the side for the reason he would not sign good on RD

Norwegianred, I for one am so glad that Deila has become our manager .
Without him we wouldn't have you posting here , I can honesty say that your posts are interesting and educational and it's great to have your Norwegian input .

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Jun 2015 18:44:08
I would put a healthy diet, as the main thing,then I would concentrate on general fitness alighned to working with the ball as the most important thing,espcially the ball work,i would'nt bother with physique asmuch,as long as the players could run as fast and hard as possible,i remember seeing scandinavian teams in the past and being impressed with their fitness,but there was a regimentanism and stolidness about them that I found boring to watch.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jun 2015 22:52:35
Im with you on the scandinavian football being a lot of fitness but not the tecknical bit ain't that good. That its something we norwegian have a lot to go on, but that is what makes Deila so special to, playing a not typical norwegian type of football. Deila understands how he can get great physics and play beautiful football at the same time.

But, physics and all that is one thing but letting one player get his will and do less physical training, because "we want him to be happy and sign a contract" would be the death for both Deila and Celtic. How long before the other players skip the training? Because Guidetti can skip, I wanna skip too.
Its easy for one player to mess up a whole team, SAF was excellent on the matter, Beckham got a big gash in the forhead cause he wouldn't do what SAF said. Japp Stamm, van Nistelrooy etc etc got to big for the club, and I bet that what's Guidetti has to.
If you are not in best physical shape, you will crumble under preissure a lot easier cause your mentally tired. whitch team was the better team in the latter stage of the season? Celtic.
The guys even won their games after the really hard thursday night games against Inter Milan. The other teams in the league, who had been contending for the title all season even crumbled without playing on a thursday night.

I bet that you will even see a better physically and mentally fit team, come the season opening. Maybe even you will se a youngster or two going into the first team and take their chances.

Ive been in insane bad physical shape myself the last years or so, but I've been working out and playing golf almost every day and I can really feel it on my game. I can even save the hole cause my physical shape is better, my mental state the same.

Do you think Celtic would get back in the game against Inter on the score 0-2 if they wasnt up to it borh mentally and physically?

Sorry for the loong answer guys!

Thanks Chris, its cool to hear your views on Deila and of course the team. I also see so many things that reminds me of norwegian football and therefore very interesting. So likewise Chris, I enjoy being in here.

Sorry NorwegianR,I was'nt talking about guidetti as such,i don't want him at celtic,I meant other players might come along,who can't fit into a strict regime,a managers job is to manage the players,some players will need to be treated differently than others,thats what makes a good manager,i don't mean not turniug up or being late for training,i think every one should put in the same work,everyone should be as fit as they can be,but more work should be put into ball control,passing ,heading,than making every player as fit as the fittest man in the squad.

10 Jun 2015 01:17:12
aindoh , I agree with you of course re fitness and training with the ball etc .
However when Kerry were winning All Ireland Championships in the 60's and 70's as if they were going out of fashion , one thing their trainer ( Manager ) did that it was reported give them the edge over opponents was to take the ball away from the training for a week before a big game , this was said to give them a hunger for the ball on match day.
Of course things were a lot simpler in those days and all sports have advanced in training techniques etc .

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jun 2015 11:01:52
I get you point Aindoh, but Deila won't buy a player who can't do his fitness regime. why would he? take a look at ManUtd.
vanGaal has introduced the same there, harder fitness rules, diets and sutch. He introduced two sessions a day, much harder workouts, cause he also playes the teams high preissure and a lot of moments (when it works).
Should Celtic not do the same? for what?
Celtic will be so much better than the other teams next season.
I would rater have a free agent who believes and doe what Deila is saying, than a so called world class who only want to be there cause of the money. One who works with the team and not against.

10 Jun 2015 23:24:39
Dont think you can compare gaelic and soccer in that way,Chris,you might end up with a hunger for the ball if you did that in soccer,but you'd be useless with it when you recieved it,am a great believer in practising with the ball or any size of ball,think youngsters are over coached these days more time should be spent on developing their ball skills.

Anyone know if there's any fixtures being played between the 30th of June and 6th of July? Like to catch a game in the Celtic bar over in Tenerife. There's nothing like sitting with a pint in 25 degree heat watching Celtic

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - The 1st of July we play Den Bosch and on the 4th we play Dukla Prague both at St Mirren Park, I don't know if there will be any available coverage though.}

Note to Ed: I see that we are playing at St Mirren park due to work getting done at CP.

Any idea what the work is?.

Thanks

{Ed007's Note - I don't know of anything majorly exciting happening bud but the pitch is getting reseeded, seats etc changed to remove the Nike markings and adverts to put New Balance ones up and there'll be other general maintenance and repairs/upgrading. The games at St Mirren's ground are only 3 weeks away so I'd say it's more to do with the pitch condition and it not being played on until it's fully ready, RD wasn't too happy about it towards the end of the season.}

Its time for Norway against Sweden tonight. The "union" game is on and the sweds are for the first time a bit unshure about the game so their playing all their best players. We and the swedish league had a full round yesterday, so it will only be the biggest stars in both teams.
hope for a 3-1 win tonight.

i know, they have allways been superior to us in football, and of course their woman, but this is about to change. they are in the middle of a change in generations, from the Zlatan generation to todays youth. So this win would taste so good! We now even got the better looking woman to :) But to be honest, Zlatan and the rest of their team is still a bit superior to us, but not for long! Heia Norge!
