James McFadden is on his way to Paradise. Birmingham City and Celtic have agreed a fee for the transfer of the Scotland star and all that's left is for the striker to agree his own personal terms.
The news was confirmed by a former high ranking Scottish football official at the weekend to one of Celtic Fanzone's reliable sources.
There has been speculation about McFadden moving since City were relegated and James selling his house in Birmingham last month, with a host of sides, including the Govan Mob noting interest.
However the lure of pulling on the Hoops and playing in front of the Faithful has proved too much for the 28 year old Bhoy from Springburn.
The addition of Faddy to the Celtic ranks will raise question marks over the future of Shaun Maloney with both players playing a similar role. Something Lenny has no doubt looked at before making his.
Or maybe Neil will find a way to accommodate both? {Ed007's Note - There is no fee involved. He is out of contract, it is stated further down on the pages. As for him and Maloney playing the same position, I'm sure the physio has more than one treatment table so it shouldn't be a problem}

im hearing talk that dermott desmond is getting a bit pevved off with throwing money into a bottomless pit with no return.im hearing its not so much the lack of finanial return.hes pissed off more so with a lack of silver wear and after throwing millions at celtic in wages.players.and making up the short fall for no euro football hes now comtemplating cutting his losses and investing in an epl side..this would see a return in his investment in the shape of sky t.v money at the very least..this info has come all the way from the corridors of power at parkhead..when you think about it surely it makes good buisness sense? {Ed007's Note - Dermot Desmond had money in an EPL team, he sold his shares in them, along with his close friends and business associates, and bought CFC because they were so well run and he was a supporter (Motherwell Mr Tim but Dim??) . You may have heard of them, Manchester United? Would just like to point something out to the ibrox faithful. You have won 3 in a row with very little money. But we won 3 with a row the 3 seasons before that when u had MORE money. Maybe Craig Shytes trillions will set us up for the league since u seem to perform better in recent years when ur skint

mcfadden can fck off!......given, kean, and richard dunne......all three will take a wage cut to play for celtic....kean probably will get the 50 grand a week but wil defo be worth it....the three of them can become legends at celtic......add the three of them to our squad today and i would be happy for the season to start tomorrow! ......fck yer 4 in a row! god bless neil lennon and the glasgow celtic!!!

I read in the paper that Westwood has agreed to join sunderland, i really hope we can get big Fraser to sign. I don't want us to start of with Zaluska again, no offence to the guy, but he is just not good enough to be our first choice keeper.

It's been a quiet transfer/rumours for celtic just now. {Ed007's Note - It certainly has, shows how well the club are keeping things under wraps to the last minute, very shrewd from NL and Lawwell. Seems NL knew all along who the mole was and got rid.}

Who exactly was the alleged mole as there have been a few different names being mentioned {Ed007's Note - I couldn't possibly comment. I'm sure you all have your own ideas}

I really hope we don't sign McFadden

We have a better striker in Hooper and he is younger and as for McFadden playing in a Mid field role, Broony Ledley and Kayal are rocks, and Commons out wide on his free playing role scores for fun in the SPL, McFadden couldn't do any better than him.

I hope we get a decent keeper and another striker (Keane preferably but doubt it plus I dont think we should be paying ANYONE more than 30k a week)

note to tosh mcguire (if thts your real name), you do realise your a fool. Mcfadden will not ever sign for celtic. He has stated openly that he doesn't need or want the hassle of the glasgow gold fish bowl. Reality is he isn't good enough or any better than what we have, complete waste of financial resources makes it a no brainer. On that note, no brainer reminds me of you!

Cheers ed id be happy with long at celtic hes a gd player dnt know much about westwood herd he iz decent though knew jay bothroyd wouldn't come up here after the season weve had and theres no chance we could meet his wage demand likwise with shay kean bellamy etc {Ed007's Note - Very sensible out look, if any the "new Amigos" surface, then fine. But I seriously doubt it}

I highly doubt we'll replace Lennon. He didn't deliver on all fronts last season (League, European qualification, off-field behaviour) but in fairness to him he had to rebuild a team that Mowbray destroyed and to finish on 91 points (which would've won the league for the past 5 seasons or something), albeit one behind Rangers was a worthy effort.

He also wanted to "bring the thunder" back to the club in terms of its relationship with the supporters and on-field play. He's definitely done that - the team played some cracking attacking football, he's signed a few gems; and in terms of sacking Lennon it would cause an uproar amongst supporters (hence less income as it'd drive a few away in anger), save for bringing back Martin O'Neill and keeping Lennon on in a job in some capacity. It's also his first season in management - he's still got a lot to learn.

I think next season will be the key to his long-term future as despite his popularity, a poor season might just cause supporters to turn on him. At the end of the day it's this that causes sackings as poor results drive away fans and the club don't make money which is their primary objective (which at Celtic you can only really do in the long term with silverware - for now despite not winning the league it's fine as the fans are for the most part all behind the team and Lennon).
