Me too ged, ANYONE but England, the ITV and BBC coverage is embarrassing to non-England supporters. I've nothing against the players and I think Southgate comes across as a decent fella but their media is fekkin annoying. 1966, it's coming home, our boys are warriors etc., I've just about had enough of them. I’d agree bob, it’s def not the manager, he comes across as decent to be fair. I don’t even mind the ex players that much but it’s the actual non football commentators that drive me crazy. Even my mrs said they drive her crazy and she’s only in the room reading a book 😂.

If only Scotland had had a manager like Southgate, picking the on form players, regardless of age or experience, not relying on older, more experienced, loyal previous squad members, Scotland might have gotten to Russia too.

Southgate may be a nice man, but he and England have had all the luck going.
They were handed an easy group where they qualified for the knockout stages by beating 2 pub teams. Then by losing to the only decent team in the group were rewarded by finding themselves in the easier half of the draw.
England are nowhere near being the best team in the tournament, but good fortune is taking them a long way. I just hope that any one of Croatia, France, or Belgium can do the business against them and shut them up.

gerryc, I'm not defending them in any way but the majority of the so called 'big teams' have all gone home and have been leaving steadily since the group stages. Yes England have been somewhat lucky but everyone else has helped them on their way by playing shyte football so what are they supposed to do? HH.

And Croatia have just had extra time game, so that should be to England's advantage, then Belgium and France will battle each other to a standstill, and be completely knackered for the final, yes, it could happen, England might not be in the top six best teams at the world cup, but they could win it.

Bob the cat. England could reach a World cup final without having to face the likes of Brazil, Argentina, France, Spain, Germany, Portugal, or even Uraguay. Granted a couple of those teams under performed but to go through a tournament and manage to miss any of those teams is a massive stroke of luck which will probably never happen again.
