I hear with the money made from big Vic going we going to give some of our players new deal's. To tell you the truth I am more excited about sammi signing a contact extension than Hooper, hoops might score all the goals but watching sammi take the ball on a big European match and performing that magic only he can, ripping open oppoents defenses with ease is epic. It's pushes the rest of the players on aswell. Iv said it before and ill say it again. I hope he retires in the hoops

Too many no-shows on league duty, roughly one good game in every ten, scoring rates abysmal and you want to improve his contract! Pay as you play should the only guaranteed term in his next contract any give the number 9 to a Celtic striker that scores consistantly.its what they are there for.

Totally agree, I think Sammy is one of the best players at the club. He gets such a hard time, but he is the only player that never hides during a game and is always willing to take the ball. Yes he may lose it at times or run out of play, but that's because he's sometimes the only player looking for the ball. I think the effort he puts in is incredible. As for his abysmal scoring record, a goal a little over every 3 games isn't too bad for a player that doesn't play as an out and out striker. The timing and importance of some of those goals make the difference. And he out scored Hooper in Europe last year, playing a game less. MgC

While I like Sammi he can be a very frustrating player. I think your over selling him mate. Magic in a Euro match? Yes he did some good things but never really ripped any one up.He can also be a weak link when in a certain team shape. It just frustrates me that there could be some player in there with a little attitude tuning. green jhedi

I agree he can be frustrating, bit that's part of his charm. He entertains us like no other player in our team. When he can be bothered there's no one that can stop him. Most talented footballer in pur squad. Remember hos debut game? He came on Skinned half of killie and then scored a long range goal that went in at the bottom right hand corner. It was stunning! Number 2 sammi isn't a striker, but he had the highest amount of assists in the league before rangers went down. Think of him as a left midfielder then you can sit and enjoy his excellent football. The guy changed his game totally. But no he shouldn't lose his number that would be completly disrespectful to a guy that our best out ball when we really need it. So aye, get his contract increased lenny

Sorry I'm like his biggest fan lol, but check out his assists guys. There's 4 players I think Celtic couldn't live without, broonie, ledley, commons and sammi. Those 4 are irreplaceable.

Agree0 Disagree0

Look at the big picture:- Yes NL has certainly got the best out of him in CL games but over a whole season he flatters to deceive far too often.
He can be so called 'unplayable' on his day; but often is frustrating and careless in possession.
Competition for places hopefully will help push him to perform consistently - I hope?

@6 . No player is irreplaceable especially Samaras . DH

You will toil to fill broons boots for a while the way he has been for us past two years or so. More to come, we are a much better team with his drive and determination in it captain qualities I kinda mind from Roy aitken days not style of play position wise but a man who drove his team on by the scruff of neck sometimes

I Hope that with Wanyama leaving possibly, I would like to see Kayal, Rogi, Mcgeouch step up to the mark rather than us buy another midfielder just for the sake of it.

CHRIS1888 {Ed007's Note - He never wanted to leave Spain, that was the major stumbling block with his move to Spurs. He is getting paid approx. £100k a week, I don't think DD would wear that.}

I'd forgotten all about THAT tackle on Kayal from that horse McCullough till I read a bit in today's Record that its been 18 months of injury as a result. Am I right it recalling no action was taken against him in that match. I'm sure servco were going on about them being kicked off the pitch in the 3rd div. Pot and kettle black

No action it was reported as a good old fashioned 50-50 tackle, ma baws it was an over the top shocker by a hatchet man

Agree0 Disagree0

Mculloch claimed there was no malice in the tackle . I've posted a photo of it on the sightings board to show the sheer venom of the challenge . I also seem to remember Mculloch rolling around like he'd been shot and making him out tobe the victim . An utter sh,, ebag of a player . DH

Agree0 Disagree0

@2 I searched some images myself. It was over the top of the ball at which he wasn't even looking at. He was looking at Kayal and yes I remember him theatrically rolling about afterwards so he didn't get sent off. It worked. He's one of the dirtiest players since Souness.
