Ive said it before and I'll say it again KT needs to cut out the rolling around sh#te . The boy that cried wolf . there's no captain there .

Believable5 Unbelievable9

09 Apr 2018 01:56:08
He has clearly been told to make the most of it. I'm sure Rodgers made such a statement near the end of last season.

We were dominating so much teams started going for our legs. Tierney very often gets targeted.

Not saying I agree with it, you say no captain there but there won't be a captain if his legs are broke either.

Agree2 Disagree0

09 Apr 2018 07:05:20
Tierney was the most fouled player on the park yesterday the boy was daft just been booked and grabs him round the neck and throws him no sympathy.

Agree3 Disagree4

09 Apr 2018 13:25:27
Martin canning can accuse Tierney all he likes for making the most of it. Like wee Lennon said on TV yesterday, whilst it was a soft sending off the Hamilton player gives the ref a decision to make, he'd only been booked moments earlier so canning should be asking his player " why make a stupid needless challenge so soon after being booked"? Tierney ( not for the first time this season) was getting fouled all day long yesterday.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It wasn't a soft sending off, he was sent off for 2 bookable offences not a straight red card. It was 2 clear bookings so he had to go.}

09 Apr 2018 17:38:42
I agree with u ed, if someone gets pulled to the ground in the box it's a booking and a penalty, or it least it should be, so I don't see why anyone thinks it's not a booking. The accies player was stupid, the ref was feet away and watching it.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Apr 2018 23:38:47
It's a bloody disgrace the amount of assaults that have went unpunished against Tierney in particular and many other Celtic players . It appears managers are encouraging their players to get stuck in to our players because they cannot compete fairly .
Fair play to the son of Dallas yesterday, he had no option but to send the Hamilton player off . Of course some of the MSSM who want to curry favour with Rangers2012. I don't know what the odd Celtic fan gets out of questioning the decision, maybe been contrary and awkward spins their motor.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Apr 2018 22:37:27
Seems to be a lot of people on dembelles back this year and I’ve no clue why I don’t know what the guys to do with no service and the injuries he’s had this year it seems everybody’s mind was made up on who our best striker was when Griffiths ties a scarf to a post.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Dembele is a better all round player than Griffiths who is a better finisher but is starting to remind me of Kris Commons with just shooting any time he gets the ball regardless of where he is on the park. They're totally different types of player but for I'd say LG needs to start using the ball more more intelligently when he's not in the box.}

09 Apr 2018 01:18:08
I agree ed he is becoming a lot like commons I like Griffiths but Dembelle is a far better player who i would start over Griffiths if both were fit but I do feel a lot of fans are getting on dembelles back for no reason guys scored 5 goals in his last 7 games no a lot more you can ask for.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - After his injury that's a good return and don't forget his identical assists for KT up at Pittodrie and Edouard's clincher at The Pit. It's rarely going to happen but I think regularly playing both Dembele and Griffits like an old fashioned front 2 partnership would devastate Scottish football in the Larsson & Sutton/Hartson and even Hateley and McCoist days of yore.}

09 Apr 2018 01:31:17
I don't think he has been as bad for it under br. The seaon under rd when he was going for 40 he would of tried a lob from a goal kick if he was allowed. I agree though he has more assist in him. The rest of his game has came on. Its the ballance of greed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'm not dissing LG, I done enough of that when he signed and I'm delighted to admit he's proven (proved?) me wrong. Maybe it's the chasing his hundreth goal in a slow canter to the league is making him greedy. Hopefully once he gets the monkey off his back next week with 99 and 100 he'll go back to his usual ways and bringing team mates into play if that's the best option.
To be fair though he's not the only player that needs to sharpen up their decision making during games.}

09 Apr 2018 01:58:14
Really don't understand in what area Dembele is better than Griffiths.

Griffiths has better movement, quicker, better in the air, better finisher, better first touch.

Dembele this season is so static and hardly moves. Most of his goals have been penalties this year.

Agree3 Disagree1

09 Apr 2018 07:09:52
Stephen he's not been as prolific this year, there's no doubt he's had injuries, and I live him as a player and he always does a bit of hunskelpin but people are just being honest this year he's tailed off a bit.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Apr 2018 09:27:33
Dembele takes a while getting back to full fitness after injuries, in my opinion that is why he has looked off the pace a lot of the time.
I think that Dembele is the better all round player as he has caused problems for teams in Europe more than Griffiths has. Griffiths is good enough in the Scottish league but I feel he struggles to make an impact at a higher level
I think we are fortunate to have them both at the club at the same time though.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Apr 2018 09:49:31
I would go with Griff on Sunday personally. Think he would cause Alves all kinds of problems with his movement. The thing with the Moose is when he’s off he’s game he has very little impact whereas when Griff is having a poor game you still fancy him to score.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Apr 2018 12:50:59
To get the best out of Dembele (and Griffiths) we have to play to their strengths and that is not happening enough.
However Moussa's goal at Ibrox and LG's goal yesterday are recent reminders of what the right service can produce and it doesn't always have to be umpteen passes from side to side, tiring out strikers, making empty runs, trying to score the perfect goal.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Apr 2018 23:44:34
I don't think it's fair to judge Dembele or any player playing on that damn surface that like Kilmarnock, is specially prepared to prevent good football and hinder good footballers .
Before the match most sensible pundits just wanted Celtic to win the game and not have injuries, we achieved that and then some try to take apart performance of team and individual players.

I am beginning to think BR will be away soon, this season or next, reason being he is now discovering not only what this league is all about.

Big money signing's he will never make. (maybe one) , working with loan players.

Teams not turning up to play football

SFA corruption / biased, religious bigotry which he believed he was getting away from.

There is only so much you can do for the love of a team, then you need to wake up and smell the coffee.

When the PL comes calling he would make 10mill per year and spend 40-80 mill on players to build a team.

Enjoy it while we have it. Hail Hail.

Believable2 Unbelievable5

08 Apr 2018 20:35:51
He may leave, be may not. One thing you said is incorrect tho. He didn't think he was getting away from religious bigotry. Not coming to Celtic. He would have been fully aware what he was coming to.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Apr 2018 20:43:54
ypf: just how much have you had to drink mate, obv too much.
BR is worth circa £16m. He is not only our manager, he is also a fan and for him making HIS mark at Celtic ( legacy) is everything.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Apr 2018 20:59:19
I can’t see him leaving, but I certainly see the reasoning why he should.
We’re fortunate to have a fan as the manager and I can’t see him leave before ten in a row ✊🍀🇮🇪.

Good comments, always good to hear your thoughts.

Peterboy: Agree he's worth more and will get more, i used a basic ball park figure, (p. s. am tee total these day's, maybe that's what's wrong. His legacy already confirmed,

Shugmckie: Different types of bigotry from accross the water and here. petty in Scotland and corrupt sfa and people playing at it.

Johhnymac: I hope he stays and takes us to the CL/ EL level.
hail hail I want the 10IAR just like my fellow Tic Fans.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Apr 2018 22:10:12
Being a self-confessed Celtic supporter, he is only too well aware of the obstacles, handicaps and hindrances of being our manager.
The fact that he has made history already and can do so again will be a good incentive for the time being. However EVERY manager has a shelf life and will leave for one reason or another.
The summer transfer window will be a good indication of the manager and the clubs ambition and objectives and hopefully it will also give the support optimism for more great things and success for Celtic.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Apr 2018 23:45:45
Ypf is that your dream list? Brendan to leave for the reasons stated . If you are right Brendan would only be confirming he was a very stupid man . He has often spoke about her he and his family and uncles were great Celtic supporters, surely he knew our problems before he joined.

Celtic should match a Pl offer in wages to keep him if it
happens.

09 Apr 2018 10:39:47
It’s a matter of when, not if Rogers leaves. He says to the players, if you want a big move then you need to perform, not just in the SPFL, but in the CL.

That is the same deal for him. Nobody down south gives a rats arse about our league. The only way Rogers ensures he gets the right offers to suit his self worth is to make us a recognised CL team, as was his stated objective, echoed by Lawell.

We all know that hasn’t happened. If anything this year saw us lose 5 games, including three at home. Our defence isn’t good enough for here, never mind the CL. Not addressing that has been a major failure to accept the blatant reality that we don’t have good enough defenders.

It has to be fifth time lucky in the summer. Until Rogers takes us into a CL group and we aren’t routinely embarrassed he isn’t going to any big team.

This knowledge I hope will redouble his efforts to fix a defence that cannot keep weans oot a close and lift the whole team.

Another CL campaign, which isn’t guaranteed with four games now with the same rubbish defence, of getting 5 and 6 goals thumped in, won’t have clubs chasing him.

Conversely, if he dies sort out our Achilles heel and we out uo a show, then clubs say, he has done that with feck all money, what could he do with £100m to spend.

I can’t believe we are still in the position of having a crap defence after four windows. Rangers have a chance, solely because of this and no matter how much we love him, that’s not good management of the situation.

Sort the defence, put up a good show in Europe or it’s the Everton’s of this world he will be heading to.

He must know that. If he doesn’t that’s a worry.

09 Apr 2018 23:49:31
Ypf surely you started your post with complete negative nonsense . I am getting old and haven't got that much time left . I don't want tonspoil my sane years left reading a big lump of negativity .

We both are looking foreward to Sunday.

Doesn't matter what striker stars next week! Surely it doesn't matter who plays we should still beat them with no issue. My one concern is Boyata. I have no trust in him what so ever.

Bain/ Gordon
Hendry, Ajer, Simunovic, Tierney
Ntcham, Brown
Roberts, Rogic, McGregor
Dembele.

08 Apr 2018 20:01:57
That would be my team Kenlike, Armstrong for Rogic after an hour and Jamesie for Paddy at some point, tempted to start Griff but got a feeling the Moose will do the business. Wouldn't have Boyota on the bus to the stadium.

08 Apr 2018 23:48:58
Ken, Boyata has been our best defender in our last 3 games and more . Your dislike for him is such you would pick Jozo, who has had a so so season ahead of Boyata and Jozo has played very little.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

08 Apr 2018 17:21:33
Would love to see us set us like this next week.

Gordon/ Bain
Ajer boyata jozo
Forrest broony armstrong kt
Rogic
Moussa Griffths.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

08 Apr 2018 17:50:29
Wouldn't go three at the back against them. Their strongest area is their wide men.

Agree0 Disagree2

08 Apr 2018 17:53:51
Not for me. This 3-5-2 has been the start of our poor performances for me. I'd play Gordon, Lustig, Ajer, Boyata, KT, Brown, Armstrong, McGregor, Sinclair, Roberts and Griffiths
Was a toss up between McGregor and Rogic but I'd keep Rogic so we have some magic from the bench if needed.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Apr 2018 18:17:41
4-5-1 next week for me. We have the pace to nullify them wide and get forward quickly. lot of thinking required for the line up i think.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Apr 2018 18:27:28
I think it will be along the lines of.

Gordon/ Bain
Lustig, Ajer, Boyata, Tierney.
Brown, Armstrong.
Forrest, Rogic, Sinclair.
Dembele.

I think there's definitely a case for Roberts and Griffiths to start but I'm not sure if they're up to full match fitness after their injuries.
They aren't bad options though to bring on if things aren't going well.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Apr 2018 18:33:37
I'd go with

Bain

Hendry Ajer Simunovic Tierney

Brown Armstrong

Forrest Rogic Roberts

Griffiths.

Ntcham and McGregor must play both in for Rogic and Forrest in your team SP.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Apr 2018 19:50:52
I'm glad i ain't the Manager Sammy some big decisions to be made. Forgot about McGregor he has done nothing to warrant being dropped so should definitely start. Huge fan of Ntcham just feel Rogic is a big game player and can create something out of nothing.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Apr 2018 23:55:20
Brendan Rodgers has big decisions to make every week, but for next week the size of his task is made smaller by the fact that for maybe 7/ 8 decisions we have 2 players of about equal ability to pick from .

It could be at the end of the day B R 's biggest decision this week would be what day to eat the Yogart which has a sell by date Friday 13th.

Griffith's or dembele up top next week? Me personally, I'd start with Griffith's.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

08 Apr 2018 17:04:40
BR has been very consistent in playing Dembele in the big games and I don’t see him changing that next week. He looked a bit sloppy and lethargic today which can be frustrating but his record against them speaks for itself.

Agree2 Disagree0

08 Apr 2018 18:26:00
Griffiths for me too Garry. We look more energetic with him on the park and i'd have him on freekicks ahead of anyone else. I also think we would be better starting Forrest on the right and Paddy on the left next week.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Apr 2018 17:11:32
id play both.

Agree2 Disagree0

09 Apr 2018 23:55:07
Next Sunday evening We will all know whether Brendan has made the correct decisions or not . Team selections and tactics become very easy in hind sight . Of course they are also very easy for us to make, also, as we wipe our minds of our own selections if they worked out badly . We don't carry the responsibility .

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Apr 2018 15:10:24
Slow and ponderous performance no cutting edge surprising with paddy playing kept cutting inside and dembelle well off it at least we'll have rogic and Armstrong next week.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

08 Apr 2018 15:53:50
There have been some very pedestrian performances lately, although when you look at the table and see a 12 point gap, there is little reason to get downhearted, albeit we are looking for a bit more entertainment and excitement for the support.
The multiple sideways passes can be a cure for insomnia, however, when we do put in that little bit of acceleration and pick out the right pass - we score two good goals. Only wish we did it more.
If there is anything that does need more attention:- I would like to see a much better dead-ball delivery and get more shots on target, as we have vast amounts of possession and territorial advantage and wish we would turn it into more goals.

Agree2 Disagree0

08 Apr 2018 16:18:21
I have been critical of Celtic performances most of this season. Its not the players its the system. Dembele way off the pace! Why? Because we are not giving him any service. He has pace to burn but our build up play is ponderous so he never gets going. Today in the second half in one attack we had over 40 passes where Hamilton never touched the ball. We never went forward once. Ball back to defence, back to keeper, back up, then back. No one wants to lose the ball. Not brave enough to take on the player in front. The system seems to be don't lose the ball. But it seems you don't actually need to do anything with it. Some will say all that matters are the points. Maybe so. For me I want to be entertained and come away saying that was some game. When I criticise the team I am labled negative and anti Celtic. So if posters are happy with how we play and only want the points then they don't know what watching Celtic is supposed to be about. In the last 3 games the style has been the same just recycle the ball, don't lose it. Well its boring and unimaganative. We have players better than that. When Slinky flung that ball into the 6 yrd box Griff made the run. Dembele was 10 yards behind him. No one except Griff was expecting the delivery. I am sure they expected Sinclair to turn back on himself. So I am not anti Celtic. I have wstched them for over 50 years but I don't like the way we play right now. Last season we attacked and won more games. And before anyone says its because teams sit behind the ball, believe me you won't break them down playing the ball back to our defenders every time the opposition put pressure on the man on the ball.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Apr 2018 16:20:50
Can't disagree with that too many side balls but a suppose the 3 points are the main thing. we'll be better next week 🤞🤞.

08 Apr 2018 17:24:27
One thing we have done domestically this season is turn up in the games that matter. Would like to see us go route 1 more often, mix it up a bit instead of trying to pass our way through teams.

I agree with the exception of zenit away, in the big games we step up. Twice with 10 men.

I was happy with today . 3 points and apparently no injuries on a pitch prepared to be dangerous and prevent good football.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thought we where average today. Looked more like a Training session, no real urgency but at the end of the day it's 3 x points.
Still confident we'll beat Club 2012 next week. No doubt, we'll hear all the usual crap form the Sevco players that we're there for the taking. We'll see the real Celtic next Sunday and as Broony said " we do our talking on the park".

Believable3 Unbelievable0

09 Apr 2018 23:58:18
It should have been what you expected, playing on a pitch like that .
I cannot understand people complaining about yesterday's performance, it appears as they don't have any sense of playing conditions.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Apr 2018 14:30:22
AARRGHHHH All plastic picthces should be banned for all game's and only used for training.

Failing that all plastic pitches should be inspected and deemed unplayable if bits missing, patchy, lumpy, and the team that owns the plastic forfeits the points.

Aberdeen pitch last week was a disgrace. should be fined.
The game today: a win, that's all folks.

Back to the prozac.

I turned to my dad at half time and said sometimes we need to be much more direct when we struggle to break teams down. The Griffiths header was a great example. Why is it then that if Morelos is due a ban it doesn't come into force for a further week?

They are a strange lot, not so long ago they were happy to see the back of him and were saying that he was too light weight and gave the ball away easily. Now they are saying he will add a bit of dig to the midfield and want him in ahead of Dorrans because he gives the ball away and has no dig.
