Not Football: But, I was organising car insurance renewal today and was getting nowhere for a decent price. So i called ( a certain company ) and got a girl on the other end of the phone, she then started to pick apart the complete quote, dissect it into what when where and at the end, i got a quote the blew the best quote i had out of the water by a country mile.

Now you might ask why are you putting this on our footy page.

The girl who answered my call.
Her name was. Grace

God Bless Grace.

Peter when she gave you the cheaper price and you were in a state of euphoria you should have said 'Oh Grace just hold me in your arms and let this moment linger! ' ๐Ÿ‘โ˜˜๏ธ.

So the SFA will NOT be taking part in any review of the sevco tax case.
Quote. "After careful consideration, the board of the Scottish FA has declined the invitation to participate in such a review, " the SFA said in its letter.

"The image of the game in Scotland can only be damaged further by 'raking over the coals' of everything that has happened in the last six years for a further lengthy period of time.

"No-one is complacent or insensitive to the issues. It will be impossible to satisfy every supporter, every club official and every member club.

"Nevertheless, the board of the Scottish FA is resolute. It has acted with integrity and in the best interests of Scottish football at all times. "

To summarise - Rangers cheated all of our member clubs by failing to comply with the tax laws of the land thus creating illegal cash incentives to secure the services of players who helped them win league titles and trophies to the financial and moral detriment of the other member clubs. However WE (meaning ND and his cronies) do not want to get involved as WE were part of the financial situation at the time. So feck the rest of you.
WE NEED THE OTHER MEMBER CLUBS TO GET TOGETHER ON THIS ONE SURELY?

I agree.
We've known for long enough how corrupt those who run Scottish football are, but this has got completely out of hand. To say that they can't please everyone and that they can't continue to drag Scottish football's name through the mud, is disgusting. They are advocating cheating and the parody is, that by ignoring this, they are spitting in our faces and making us a laughing stock.

Time to take this to UEFA and the courts.

07 Sep 2017 23:44:23
The tax thing aside the main point for celtic is they didn't declare all the player payments correctly this is the breach they did and the sfa and spfl are cropping it as this will bring the whole same club new club debate to a conclusion maybe not jelly and ice-cream maybe some popcorn for this drama bhoys.

Agree5 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - The side letters/contracts and subsequent improper registration of players is the elephant in the room.}

07 Sep 2017 23:55:55
So in other words the SFA "Us and them are guilty as sin but let's not rake thru the past and expose each and everyone of us". Surely now celtic will demand a new inquiry.

Agree4 Disagree1

08 Sep 2017 07:05:03
Celtic have already sent the same letters to UEFA that they sent to the SFA. I don't think lawwel will let this go.
I suspect it's been Celtic that have leaked these letters in first place to put pressure on SFA for an answer.
They now have it and will act accordingly.
What the leaked letters prove is Celtic have been working on this in the background all along.

No surprise at all was expecting this from a corrupt organisation. only in scotland any other country theyd be taken to task and punished.

SFA making a mockery of our game again.
Will be interesting the next time a Scottish Club "misregisters" a player. how can they possibly then decide it's wrong and punish the club.
So just do what you like to gain an advantage, the governing body in Scotland don't seem to care about the league they are responsible for administrating.
No wonder others laugh at our game.

Agree4 Disagree1

08 Sep 2017 09:32:16
The SFA have made a mockery out of Scottish football in all of our lifetimes and this current lot have clearly shown their contempt for the clubs and fans who want to compete in a fair manner. They turned a blind eye to the many failings of the dead club and they are now trying to brush all their wrong doings under the carpet. Never going to happen this is just the start and their statement shows them up for what they are a cheating misguided out of touch organisation who are the laughing stock of world football. Heads will roll and once they do Scottish football can move forward under new leadership and by people who aren't affraid to stand up to the funny handshake brigade.

It all comes down to crapping their pants nobody at the spfl or sfa wants to be the man to declare they ARE a new club and strip the titles from the OLD club due to miss and incorrect registration of players. As that person will then probably have to take their family and flee the country as he will have a large percentage of ra peepulllll threatening them and harrassimg them and laptop gangsters giving it what for. nobody wants to be that person not in Scotland anyway.

Agree2 Disagree0

08 Sep 2017 11:42:10
They have been a corrupt and very biased figure head since the beginning, but always seem to get away with it because nobody stands up to them - or like quite a few 'provincial clubs' agree with the favours granted their 'second team' in Scotland. Nothing surprises me about their antics and shenanigans and if UEFA or Fifa let it ride time and time again - there is no Fair Play or integrity at all.

Agree2 Disagree0

08 Sep 2017 13:43:59
If the SFA really wanted to show they looking after the interests of all member clubs, they would contact UEFA and ask them to set up an independent board to look into ALL sides of this debacle. But, that would show up the current and previous SFA Executive members as totally corrupt and biased.
This is supposed to be the era where FIFA and UEFA have had a clean out and are in the process of being more open and honest. Surely the sevco case would be a perfect platform to show they do mean what they say with regards to honesty and integrity?

But NOW, they are going investigate the awarding of the license in 2011.This lot a re a joke and it's time the club chairmen tabled a motion of no confidence and boot them out.

Can I ask a few questions Ed? First I read a dodgy article on the BBC this morning about how Man City HAVE complied with all EUFA fair play rules. The end of this article said we paid nothing to City for the loan of wee Paddy. I thought we paid at least 2.5 million. Second, do you think our transfer deadline will change if the EPL does? Lastly, have you heard anything about the supposed homophobic banner the Huns are planning?

Believable3 Unbelievable3

{Ed007's Note - I don't know what's on the BBC but according to someone at City who spoke to ESPN, Celtic didn't pay any loan fee for Roberts and we aren't paying any his wages.
Why would we change our window just because England is? And I read about the banner on James Forrest's blog but I've no idea if it's true or not.}

07 Sep 2017 19:39:58
Rumoured other big leagues fancy it to and they want to get eufa to bring it in.

Agree4 Disagree4

{Ed007's Note - And until that happens, if it happens, why would we do it just because the EPL, not even the whole of England, have?}

07 Sep 2017 20:41:29
Maybe a good thing if we adopted it. Get some players signed and up to speed before the crucial qualifiers for the champions league?

Agree3 Disagree1

07 Sep 2017 23:36:54
Maybe really good for us if we don't adopt it think of all the young players who will find out they aren't in they're clubs plans early and in time for us to swoop.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I cannae wait till Paddygate 2018 already!

08 Sep 2017 13:51:17
Personally, I am all for it and it means that teams start the season having done the deals BEFORE kick off. But it has to be UEFA members wide or it will give some leagues an advantage.
I also believe that any player refusing to play (turn-up) because they are trying to force a club's hand to sell them should receive a minimum 6 month ban to ensure contracts actually mean something. Signing a 3-5 year contract is a commitment and just because Barcelona or Man Utd come in does not mean you have a right to spit out the dummy and demand to be released.
While I am dipping in to the realms of fantasy, SFA should strip rangers titles and declare the new club playing at ibrokes exactly what it is. NEW.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Sep 2017 18:55:59
So the Premier League have voted to change their transfer deadline to just before their season kicks off. I just don't see how they are going to benefit from closing the window early as other leagues can still bid for their players so how does shutting the window stop unsettling players as insinuated? From our standpoint I was thinking about what ed said about waiting for the PL window to shut so we can get players who are not in the plans of their clubs. Do you think this situation will benefit our club?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

07 Sep 2017 19:39:07
It's been reported they aren't the only league that wants to do it. They are hoping they set the ball rolling and it ends up forcing eufa to do it to.

Agree0 Disagree5

07 Sep 2017 20:03:04
I don't think it will be much benefit unless every one does it. But if it was Barcelona and Coutinho they can still bid for him so how does it help from players heads being turned?

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Sep 2017 12:14:01
Just an idea but why not have one window, open only in June and that's it. What players you have on 1st July are what you have for the whole season and that's it. Would mean teams could plan and players couldn't wait till January and cost clubs money if they move. Just an idea.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Sep 2017 13:18:33
Edg it's definetly one way to get the bigger teams to use their youth academies when they're injuries hit rather than throwing millions on replacing players. So many talented youngsters are wasting away!

Hi folks just a quick rant. Just off twitter there and seen a thread about a guys asking advice on getting away tickets off the @celticfcslo. And the amount of d***s that current systems fair should have been going to games in 19 canteen to have a built up history is amazing. They are only asking best way to go about starting to go (everyone starts some where) . There main issue and has bugged me for years is folk that couldn't get to parkhead if you pointed them in front of it getting tickets to away games because, supports clubs snapping up all their allocation even when people that those tickets are for can't make it and instead of handing them back and risk getting their allocation reduced they dish those tickets out to guys that drink in the pub that don't have season books. And the way large section of the support has reacted is no great at all considering it's a fair question to ask and point to put across. Any rant over hail hail boys off hamilton we go.

The bigger they are the harder they fall JB67. Let's welcome them to Paradise the way we welcomed Man City. Ah thought I'd burst an ear drum that night loudest I've ever heard Celtic Park. Guy in London said to me that Man City's season never recovered from that night. It's not hate from the stands that intimidates teams it's our love of the Hoops they feel. I was disappointed for Henderson and Christie at the start of the season because I I hoped they had a big future ahead at Celtic - however with the addition of Ntcham and Benyu and with Biton still in the squad it doesn't look good for the youngsters for the forseeable future.
However, as stated, when you add Rogic, Armstrong, McGregor, Roberts etc etc - we certainly are spoiled.

Aye seen your comment below JB67 about the "nonsense", as you so elegantly put it, of rotating the squad with the biggest match of the season coming up on Tuesday. Not to mention risking players with injury concerns on the plastic pitch for game or squad can win comfortably. Think you need to get a grip.

He's actually got a point about resting players, this early in the season tiredness doesn't come into it. If anyone has a niggling injury then don't risk them if we don't need to but that's as far as I'd go.

the next game is the most important HAMILTON the league is our bread and butter, we don't buy champions league class players so why is that more important than the league game? stein would laugh at all this namby pamby player rotation if he was alive today, he used to do a shift down the pit before he went to play a game.
