Anyone hearing that LG is less than 50/ 50 for Saturday?

Even without LG we can still skelp them with Scott, MD and we Paddy up front.

LG will play on Saturday, I don't think there's any doubt! Kennedy practically said as much the other day! He came off against the sheep nearly 2 weeks ago! The wee man will be fine, and he'll confident of getting a couple against the tribute act!

Just stuck a fiver on a penalty in the first half at 8/ 1 and a fiver on the second half at 10/ 1 also us minus 2 at 4/ 1 might do it as a wee treble too.

I reckon the forces of darkness and evil will sit very deep and get 12 men (if you include the referee) behind the ball as they have nae pace at the back and we're rapid from both wings (Sinclair, Roberts or Forrest) . The magic hats modus operandi (that's Latin in case one of the manky mob are reading this) will be damage limitation given if they go away with a result or a narrow defeat they'll be more than happy. Question, how do we draw them out and are we good enough to get round about them? The magic hat knows the league is finished already or we could hope he might chase a win. Can't see it though. Thoughts welcome. PS. massively disagree with some previous posters that LG is best as a lone striker.

I agree that they will sit in and try to hit on the break. I don't see this being any different from any other team coming to Celtic park. They are not as good as Aberdeen. We will win by a minimum of 2 clear goals. It may take a while to break them down but it will happen. Average team. I think 3-1! The issue is will the referee play a straight game? Probably not so expect a penalty for rangers and a sending off. Tim, bet is 3-1 Celtic, penalty to Rangers and Celtic player off! What would be the odds on that?

I put the ref to score first goal diving header from 6 yards.

07 Sep 2016 23:45:19
If they get a penalty and we get a man sent off we will not 3-1 unless these events happen late in the game. I think we are getting carried away. I'll take any win. If we win and dominate ( ie solid all round start to finish performance ) then we should all be very happy

To win
To deserve to win

Is that not what we're after?

These games are odd ball games. I remember we beat them 6-2 and 5-1 and on both occasions we weren't fancied. I remember going there and losing 5-1 shortly after 6-2

I also remember last year when no one fancied them and we lost ( some would say deservedly so )

Aberdeen score flattered us a little
Hapoel had us on the rack for ten minutes at Celtic park and for 90 minutes away in Israel
Astana were unfortunate with their 1-1 in Azerbaijan
We needed 2 penalties to squeeze last them at home
St Johnstone almost made a mug of us when we were home and hosed
And we didn't deserve to beat hearts

We have recently dropped a keeper and brought in another who fans had concerns with

They have struggled too but they're unbeaten domestically

Where does that leave us? Well maybe it feels great to say 3 4 5 or 6 nil, but I'm not so sure the gulf is as wide as that

If you think it is, on what basis

I'm clearly different to many which is fine but I'll bite your hand off for a win and a solid performance from back middle to front with Celtic receiving all the plaudits for playing the game the right way

Anything can happen. Anything.

In the semi their luck was in big time. Everything went their way, they had to play the best they possibly could play and they did, they also needed us to play as bad as we possibly could and we did. All the teams u mentioned there would beat sevco, all of them. We're a different team with a different mentality from last season, so are they, they romped there league and thought buying a couple of players would get them to our level and maybe it would have if we never got Rodgers sinclair dembelle toure, and managed to get a few players playing better, forrest rogic brown. They're out there depth and they're about to find out just how much. Aye anything can happen in football especially with collum in charge, but they need it all to click even more this time, throw in a full house of mad tims and it can't happen again, no chance. Mon the hoops. 🍀🍀.

prob get a lot of pelters here but larsson was an average/ good player b4 he came to us, wasnt until he pulled on the hoops that he started to become a class act, if his bhoy was half the player he was clubs would be all over him, i'd like to think we will see him in the hoops one day.

Haha would be hard to actually believe we scouted a player then were not a tad suspicious when another guy showed up to sign on the dotted line, were there not a load of players signed who were all represented by the same agent?

Bhoywonder he was well above average before he came to us.
He was an international footballer that had reached the semi finals of a world cup with his country coming third.
He had score a lot of goals and won trophies
The only reason we got him on the cheap was because the clause in the contract and a court battle or else he'd have been a few million to buy.

I don't think commons will kick another ball at Celtic? If we could get him fit it would be great but he has looked so far out of sorts I would be surprised if he was fit enough for a BR team? Just an opinion!

I think the concern is more travel and jet lag, he gets back to Glasgow on Friday and we kick off the next day lunchtime NOT EASY from someone who knows all about long haul consecutive travel.

OuterMilan, I would also stick with DeVries in goal as I think Gordon recent performances have been woeful and always looks nervous and his confidence looks low. The back 4 picks itself I think, and would probably go for 4 in Midfield (JF, SB, CMc, SS) With Rogic playing AM and Griff upfront. Would also like to point out the difference Toure has made to shore up our defence, great signing so far. HH.

Sorry green tea but I think it's way too early to praise toure, he's been ok but we struggle to keep clean sheets and he's part of that unit which IMO needs to improve quickly as we're about to start meeting good teams who will take us apart unless they all improve.

I'm with Jim although he has been good so far he could be better positionaly I think he has been caught out a few times.

Agree4 Disagree0

07 Sep 2016 17:49:21
He still looks to be carrying a bit of weight he probably needs to up his fitness a bit yet. But with Rodgers happy enough to have let Jozo go last week he obviously rates Toure as his first choice centre half because he wasn't going to play Efe or Boyata alongside Erik. It will interesting to see if Jozo gets game time now he's back after his move broke down.

Agree5 Disagree0

07 Sep 2016 21:02:46
I would be worried if there was a problem with Toure's positioning play . He has only been playing top class football for between 15-20 yrs, so I doubt if he can improve his positioning play in a few weeks with us. He has been far better than I thought he would be and I for one am well pleased with him.

Agree1 Disagree2

07 Sep 2016 23:03:55
I think Toure has been very good since he came in and we can't blame him for not keeping a clean sheet against Aberdeen. He was the one that stopped the cross and there were 4 other Celtic players that stood still whilst Toure was down when the Aberdeen player scored.
You could see how pissed he was the way he reacted after the goal went in.

Bhoys,

Just a quick question regarding the forthcoming Monchengladbach v Celtic game in November.

A few of us are heading there for an away game. We're staying in Düsseldorf though.

Are any of you going, where are you staying and where are you drinking? Monchengladbach doesn't look like its got much of a pub scene!

Sorry if this is too early to think about especially with a certain game on Saturday morning!

HH.

First time caller here bhoys.
I'm really looking forward to the game on Saturday. I know I shouldn't be too worried about the outcome as we should pump them without any significant problems. But, I can never seem to get rid of the horrible thought that they could fluke it. I'm like that every time we play them ☹️
My team would be.
DeVries (don't change the goalie again)

Lustig (our weak spot I think? )
Tierney
Kolo
Svietchenko

Brown
Rogic
Henderson (better than Bitton)
Roberts (time to make up for that sitter)

Sinclair
Griffiths.

I just don't understand how lustig can be seen as our weak spot. He's been our most consistent defender for a good few seasons now. I know he gets injured blah blah blah, but he plays more than any of our other defenders!

Agree5 Disagree2

07 Sep 2016 11:01:35
Why put sinclaire upfront when he is a winger who is playing very well out wide?
I would leave Griffiths up front himself as I think he does his best work as a lone striker.

07 Sep 2016 11:07:25
NT, think at full back he's been caught out for pace recently, thought he's been brilliant at CB but think a bit of pace down the line is needed. Still pump them but.

I would play gamboa at rb and either play Lustig at ch or leave him on the bench.

If Lustig is indeed our weak spot, why do we as supporters highlight it .

Agree0 Disagree3

07 Sep 2016 22:07:57
Id be surprised if he gives gamboa his debut in that game when he hasn't even trained with the team, and just flew half way around the world for a national game. None of us have really seen him play but you want br to drop lustig for him. If he had a shocker, we would all be slagging off the manager and the player . As long as ambrose and boyata aren't playing I'll be happy.
