With regards to appointing a new manager, surely we have learned after the appointment of Rodgers that you must speculate to accumulate. Rodgers never cost us a penny for his services when you take into account the compo we received when he went. If we go down the route of appointing someone on the cheap we will probably end up sacking him and having to pay off his contract. Same as the signing of players, push the boat out and spend a bit more whether it's on transfer fees or wages. The 1 or 2 million pound market and paying 8-10 grand a week isn't going to get us the required quality to improve us, unless we get very lucky. Saying that really looking forward to seeing Shved next season think he could be a steal.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

07 May 2019 22:50:20
Exactly spot on. If we spend more the likelihood is we qualify for the CL. Earn 40 mil

If we spend more on the right players they will sell for more.

Better quality. Same profits.

If it's not lenny then we need to pay the going rate for a top coach not an untried one who would be Pedro's lap dog. or for that matter a deilla.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 May 2019 18:43:48
There is very little news regarding a new manager/ coach for us. The odd name that gets brought up I fear could be just due to the fact the season ticket renewal is due. If Lennie gets the cup I think he will get the job. If it’s lennie I think Lawwell will be controlling things too much, with a bigger name he won’t have as much control .

Agree0 Disagree0

09 May 2019 21:47:56
There is no need for the Celtic Board to announce our new full time Manager until after the Cup Final . Any announcement could upset current management team and maybe even the players .

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2019 22:42:38
Man U have bombed since Solskjaer was appointed permanent manager. Thankfully Lawwell and Co haven't made the same knee jerk reaction with Lenny. I'm not saying he isn't an option but that's all he is along with anyone else. HH.

What a game tonight
It's in the stars for 6 big ear cups for liverpool I reckon.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

07 May 2019 23:02:03
If English teams win the Euro cups does that in any way make it easier for us to qualify.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2019 23:22:20
Hope not.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 May 2019 22:30:24
Barcelona are always regarded as a very good team with their defence sometimes a little bit fragile .
A wee bit fragile tonight they were disgracefully bad . If a Celtic defence conceded goals like Liverpool's 3rd and 4th, their would be calls for not only Manager's head but also P L.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

08 May 2019 06:10:05
You don't think Barcelona fans will be wanting Valverde out?

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2019 22:40:43
Now 8 in a row secured surely now is the time to reflect and then look ahead.
First of all we must praise the character of our players for overcoming some big obstacles.
1) Our horrendous injury list this season
2) Lawwell and the Board's total MISHANDLING of the summer transfer window
3) The discontent sowed by Rodgers and all the upheaval when he went
4) The antics of Boyata
5) Letting Dembele leave on final day of transfer window with no replacement
So much negativity around the club was eventually overcome by these positives
1) Lennon steadying the ship
2) Our captain rallying the players
3) The team themselves digging deep at times to overcome potentially losing points and games
4 The loan signings Benkovic, Burke and Weah making such a positive impact
5) The loyalty of Tierney, McGregor, Christie etc all signing long term deals
6) Remembering Cesar and Stevie and all our other lost Celtic heroes, which seemed to bring everyone at the club together
So after the Cup Final we regroup and start again next season.
This Tim is feeling positive, surely we will not experience such a big injury crisis again, some players will leave some with our thanks and others just cheerio (Boyata) new players will come in to bolster the team and hopefully the whole Club, Board, Players and Supporters will be unified again.
I hear some people say that the pressure on getting 9 and then 10 titles will be intense, but it will also be intense on our rivals particulary the new club whose every mistake will be howled down by their baying fans.
No Roll on 2019/ 2020 season with CONFIDENCE hail hail.

07 May 2019 22:20:28
Just a few thoughts guys.
Only former player I'd gladly have back is Wanyama.
GK If Bain staying as no.1, Zander Clark or Liam Kelly as back up. If looking for another no.1 what about Joe Hart?
New signings to come from Holland, Belgium, Sweden etc 3-4 hours by plane max instead of guys flying half way round the world.
Still hoping Rafa for manager, but doubt it.

Would take big Virgil if he fancies coming back to the SPL. What's he up to these days anyway 😂.

07 May 2019 23:04:00
VVD and Wee Paddy as well.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 May 2019 08:41:34
I heard that that zander Clark going to the mob and I can't see Kelly coming to sit on our bench when he left them for 1st team football.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 May 2019 12:52:35
Dont think any of them are good enough let's promote our own theres a few decent goalies coming through.

Woah, just woah, what a result for Liverpool tonight. Thoroughly deserved over both legs.

07 May 2019 22:21:13
Where are all the Messi slaverers tonight?

Agree1 Disagree0

07 May 2019 22:21:43
Modern coaches are all about the pass and possession.

They call any form of physical football "ignorant"

Barca got done tonight and a huge factor was Liverpool being too physically strong.

Shoulder tackles was like watching an adults side vs a kids team. Bullied.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2019 23:26:04
As much as I hate ajax I really hope they win it now.

Agree2 Disagree0

08 May 2019 08:48:38
Henrik does the fact Barcelona got turned over last night make his achievements or how good a player he's been any less?
I wouldn't say so and I prefer Ronaldo.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 May 2019 11:08:25
I've never said he's not a great player. But what did he do last night? Greats like Zidane would have rallied his side, all they needed was a goal. Between him and Suarez, I was glad they got pumped.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 May 2019 14:58:18
Henrik if greats like zidane would always rallied their side's how come he lose games?

Agree0 Disagree0

08 May 2019 16:29:01
Sorry for slagging your precious Messi, but what exactly did he do last night to inspire his team to find the goal they needed? Nothing. He was useless last night. How come he lost games? What a stupid comment.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2019 22:08:53

Just saw a suggestion there on fb made me chuckle. what do you think the s. e. v. c. o and SMSM’S reaction would be if all the Celtic players at the start of the game stood at the tunnel and gave broony a guard of honour? Could you imagine the hatred from all the newbie fans and sympathisers? 😂🍀🏆🏆🏆.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

07 May 2019 20:32:00
Thats what i thought we could do, However added to that as Broony walks out.
They all sing the Celtic Song.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

07 May 2019 20:55:13
The first 8 out the tunnel should be flying flags.

07 May 2019 20:55:39
Great suggestions - I would just have ALL the players wear the no 8.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2019 21:36:03

Agree1 Disagree0

07 May 2019 19:46:37
Reading some of the posts further down regarding a foreign manager with Neil Lennon as a no.2, whilst I would like to see a scenario such as this here's a couple of points:

Would a foreign manager (of Calibre) be willing to accept Lennon as no2?

Would John Kennedy be happy with not being no.2 and would he therefore try his hand as a manager in his own right elsewhere?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

07 May 2019 20:47:30
I don't think lenny would be a no 2 after being the main man twice.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 May 2019 22:32:59
What does "a foreign manager" even mean?

Keep seeing people moan about Lennon or any domestic suggestions and bang on about foreigners.

Not even a name . just a foreigner.

So why don't people who want a fancy name manager in start giving us names of who this foreigner is?

Name names. Who out there with a reputation will realistically touch this job?

Agree0 Disagree0

08 May 2019 07:19:04
What about Vladan Milojević of RSB. One of the best up and coming “Foreign” managers and you can see why, taking Red Star into the group stages of the champions league etc. Knows the Eastern European market well and works under a relatively small budget.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2019 18:30:09
Gentlemen.

Before I start I'm not convinced on any of the below but a guy at work asked me today what it would take for celtic to join the English league system. How low down would fans be willing to go. To put it in context we would possibly generate the same money as we do in the spl minus the champions league money if we were to drop into league 2. Here's another thought. How would a celtic league work made up of teams from Scotland and Ireland North and South. Would teams like shamrock rovers dundalk Cork Lindfield derry City. Be able to grow into competitive teams similar to hibs or hearts. Obviously both celtic and rangers would generate a fairly large away following in Ireland. Would a league with this make up generate any extra revenue to the spl. Tbf I'm not convinced on any alternative league makeup but don't like the 12 team league with top six split. I'd prefer an 18 team league and with this potentially a play off between the feeder leagues and relegation teams for promotion.

Thoughts?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

07 May 2019 19:29:11
I would be willing to drop into the 1st division at the most, I could see us getting promoted straight away to the Championship and then the PL, Depending on who we could attract player wise.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 May 2019 19:54:21
Leave England to the English.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2019 22:44:20
I would be delighted to be in anything - North Atlantic, mid-European Championship, English/ Welsh/ Irish Cup - as long as Sevco WEREN'T.
TRIFC 2012 have leeched of us for too long and hang onto our coat-tails using the obsolete Old Firm nonsense. We don't need them, their 'traditions', or the unhealthy, antiquated religious bigotry.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2019 15:59:15
I see reports being circulated that Luznig, Isaguirre and even Hooper are being considered for contracts for next season. This is the reason some supporters doubt NL as the way forward as these are backward steps. We should being looking at adding new young blood for the next ten years of success.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

07 May 2019 16:38:17
Hooper has to be some lazy journalism based on the fact he's been released. Lustig I would give a deal to, even if just a year, given that we won't have a recognised RB. Even if we do hopefully sign a new RB Lustig would still be a good squad member. As for Izzy well I'd just let him go. Would rather have Hayes as back up but again would like to see an understudy to KT brought in or promoted from the youths but I have no idea if we have a LB ready to make the step.

Agree5 Disagree0

07 May 2019 16:47:56
Lustig should get one.

Agree3 Disagree0

07 May 2019 17:19:58
What next? Bringing Mulgrew and Stokes back?
Shows you that we would be a joke if Lennon gets the job.

Agree3 Disagree0

07 May 2019 18:11:24
Lustig is only 32 and has been here for 8 in a row. He can be an experienced bit part player. I would like to see him gave a 2 year deal and be part of 10 in a row as he's earned it.

Agree3 Disagree1

07 May 2019 18:17:56
Jonbhoy71 in what way would we be a joke? Because papers and social media accounts would link us with player we don't actually want?

Agree1 Disagree0

07 May 2019 18:47:12
How can you actually suggest the blame lies on Lennon for that hahaha

He wasn't in charge when Izzy came back or the years we never replaced lustig

Or the fact we kept so much of the same squad for too long.

That would be the board lol. Nobody wants to criticise them though.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2019 19:34:23
Kev, we all laughed at the Orcs brining in hasbeens and now we are offering players who are well past there best new contracts and being linked to old players.
I don't believe any of the paper stories BUT if that is the type of player Lennon is targeting then Yes it's a joke.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2019 19:54:08
So the media link us with Hooper after he liked a tweet of a Celtic fan asking him to come home and Lenny is getting the blame 😂😂.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 May 2019 20:28:49
Lustig is not the answer. He is good cover at most can see us signing that RB from Atlanta this summer and Lustig being back up.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2019 20:43:13
What about that full back from Molde?,

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2019 20:52:35
Johnbhoy, if you don’t believe any of the paper stories, why did you bother to comment on it?

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2019 20:56:09
Think that boy will be staying in Italy now phil.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2019 21:04:36
The left back? No chance he'll come to play a bit part behind teirney. Is it the boy meling u mean?

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2019 21:22:55
Just saw AC Milan and Napoli are in for him Kev. Looks like that's a no go.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2019 22:17:22
Are Celtic fans the only fans in the World that believe local media. rumours .
I always thought that we stopped believing the MSSM at the same time that we stopped believing in Santa Claus

We have people believing in the special one signing and we have others believing Gary Hooper .

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2019 22:39:39
It looks pretty sure that Atalanta will qualify for an automatic champions league spot in 4th place in the serie A and Castagne has playing regularly now and even scored at the weekend. Don't think he will leave and if he does doubt it will be to the SPFL.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2019 22:45:37
Tesla
You could blame the board if the managers never got any money to spend but they did.
How many players did Rodgers bring in?
Do you think the board blocked transfers that Rodgers wanted to sign? The board backed the managers, people need to give it a rest in blaming the board.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 May 2019 01:05:00
Coybig, I commented because I didn't believe the Hooper story but we have offered 2 players well past there best a new contract.
If this is the calibre of player that Lennon thinks can take us forward then we are in deep trouble.
Is that ok with you?

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2019 15:12:57
Izzy offered 1 year extension and linked with a move for Gary Hooper. Is this the direction we are going under Lenny this isn't moving forward this would be going backwards!

07 May 2019 15:17:05
I'm starting to get concerned myself stan.

You are kidding Izzy for another year omfg please no must be a joke.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2019 15:24:11
Hooper though would definitely score he would give us 20 goals a season I think I’d be happy with him coming back.

07 May 2019 15:59:23
It was in the Sun. Nuff said.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 May 2019 15:46:23
Chris how do you work out Hooper would give us 20 goals a season?
He has averaged 8 a season for last 6 seasons.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 May 2019 15:51:35
Can't see Hooper starting ahead of Edouard or Griffiths, even if we change formation. I'm now convinced the job is Lennys. What next Bobo to replace Jozo. This is already starting to look like an old pals act. Can understand the tried and trusted theory if it was 2009.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2019 15:42:20
Ed please tell us this isn't happening? I can see the masses heading for the pitchforks.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I think this has all stemmed from Hooper liking a Tweet saying Celtic should sign him back. Hooper's missed so much time through injury and it would be crazy to even consider signing him for that alone.}

07 May 2019 16:06:06
Saw the same news. what it that about. Izzy offered a 1 yr contract and Hooper linked back. And as good as he has been lately lustig also been offered. These were the full backs in 2011! It doesn't fill me with hope if this is the road we are going plus it surely points to Lennon getting the job if this is the case.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2019 16:14:13
Hooper for me is not on, he couldn’t get away quick enough first time round and has achieved nothing since. oldkilly.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 May 2019 16:25:10
Been saying for weeks - never go back. Managers, players, flares, tank-tops, shell suits, ootside lavvies - it will all end in tears.

Agree3 Disagree0

07 May 2019 17:08:23
Kev how do I work out he would get us around 20 a season, because that’s what he has done all his career he a goal scorer he’s not over the hill he’s been out with injury that’s why he’s not been scoring in the championship and premier league well let’s be fair he’s not going to score the same amount their as in the spfl what's the big deal with doubting hooper would score a barrel load he’s a poacher that’s what he does and I for one would welcome the 88 back him and griff would be lethal up top.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Hooper has scored 50 goals since he left Celtic 6 years ago.}

07 May 2019 17:20:21
The Twitter brigade are at it everytime an ex player/ fan tweets. Barry Bannan was the latest and then there is headlines all over Newsnow 'Bring him home'. Its the same with Sviechenko. Bannan can't even get a game for Scotland but because he's a Tim and says well done people want him signed 😂.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Lennon tried to sign Bannan a couple of times during his previous time as manager.}

07 May 2019 18:15:05
Showed plenty promise years ago Ed but nothing since. Both Henderson brothers are better.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2019 18:50:56
Hoops was great and I was sad he bolted, but he did bolt. V. Wanyama returning this winter: now that was a classy rumour to be caught being delusional about!

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2019 19:12:46
Chris shows just how much you actually know about Hooper since he left Celtic.
If he has scored goals his whole career as you just put it, how come for the last 6 years his average is 8 goal a season
That what you call goal scoring?

This he would score a barrel up here is the same pish we hear every time we are liked with has beens from down south
Your Ian Wright's Your Freddy Ljungberg your Charlton Cole's. Roy Keane and Joey Barton were going to run the show and how did it all work out for them? 🤔🤔🤔

Gary Hooper is a injury prone 31 year old player who lost the goal scoring touch years ago.
He's that good a player that Sheffield Wednesday don't think he's good enough and the regularly give Steven Fletcher a game for Christ sake. 😂.

07 May 2019 15:02:04
After discussing with a few pals about our summer transfer needs I’ve agreed that I’d be happy with the following zander Clark GK, Ryan porteous CB, Ryan Patterson or gumny at right back, Greg Taylor LB, David turnbull cm, Gary hooper, Patrick Roberts, benkovic on loan again I’d think that would be a good transfer window 🍀.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2019 15:30:27
Ha ha being realistic loons we not going to get any better and these guys are young and proving to be very good, zander Clark has the second most clean sheets but the most saves by a distance in a poor side he would be a bargain buy, turnbull has scored loads from cm again bargain and will be another Christie I think, porteous definitely better than McKenna and Henry and is up and coming youth probably one of the best cb in the league bar ajar, hooper Robert and Patterson and Greg Taylor definitely the best lb in the league after tierney so really I think I’m bang on lads 🍀🍀.

Might be a while mate, think waiting list is over 10,000. You never know, people's circumstances change.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2019 10:13:12
Hi Ed got a text from a mate saying Griffiths behaviour of late is unacceptable and the club are done with him. The text also said him and his Mrs turned up at players lounge and were told to leave cos they were steamin, and also didn't attend Cesar's funeral.
Hopefully is fake news but have you heard anything?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I've not heard anything like that and I'd be surprised if it's true. I do know LG was at Craig Tara in Ayr over the weekend to do the trophy presentations etc at an ESF football tournament for kids.}

07 May 2019 11:23:45
He was in the stand with the girlfriend at killie game and looked stone cold.

These stories are going to plague Griffiths for a long time but I'd take them all with a pinch of salt.
People will be out to make the wee man's live hard.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2019 12:13:10
Cheers Ed. I hoped it was nonsense and the guy who sent me it is a bun. I'd like to think Griffiths is smarter than that?

Agree5 Disagree2

{Ed007's Note - Just block his number.}

07 May 2019 22:34:42
Yes Kev83, unfortunately that's true. He hasn't helped himself in the past on many occasions but hopefully we'll see a different attitude from him when (if) he returns for pre-season. Griff on form is a tremendous player. HH.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2019 09:13:53
I never understand how The Rangers get grips on quality players like Mexer from Rennes but we struggle to sign any form of defender? Hed be a huge improvement on Simunovic.

ED do you expect us to bring in a lot of players this summer?

Players leaving or returning to there respective club: Izzy, DDV, Gamboa, Allan, Commper? Gordon? Toljan, Boyata, Lustig, Benkovic, Mulumbu? Weah, Burke, Bayo? Hendry?

Players on Loan: We will see Shved come in from his loan and I am excited to see him in future. Perez and Gutman are they any better than Calvin Miller or Ralston? Benyu will probably leave also. Connor Hazard, should he be back up to Bain or will he go out on Loan again?

A lot of work to be done. Basically left with no defence. going to be a difficult summer for us.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I don't think we'll bring in a lot of players and hopefully there's more leaving than coming in. I'd be surprised to see Lustig leave.}

07 May 2019 11:26:05
Never mind talking about players coming in and just yet until manager comes in is there any updates on that EDs?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Nope.}

07 May 2019 11:31:57
I have this horrible feeling more and more each day that we aren’t going to reach the ten.

07 May 2019 12:14:53
Calm down Ken. We'll get 12 I reckon 😊.

Worrying if you don't see us signing many players.

Gk - fine with bain and gordon (need to start looking for a new no.1 soon)

RB - lustig (should be our no2) gamboa surplus to requirements, ralston should go on loan for a year. We 100% must buy a fast attacking right back.
CB - Jozo and Ajer will be the main 2. After that we only have Jack Hendry since boyata and benkovic are away. We 100% need 2 new cbs and send hendry away on loan to hibs or aberdeen (if they'll take him)
LB - kt fine with izzy and hayes as back up.

Cm - no issues for next season but look at getting someone in the season after.

Rm - forrest and shved
Amc - rogic and chrisite
Lm - sinky
I reckon we need a lw/ no.10 - i would like to see edouard play lw as his strength is ball at his feet running at cbs. If we discount edouard then i think we are short. Ww still have johnston and arzani so we might get away with it for one more season.

Cf - edouard (although id prefer another striker to help him) . Griff is unreliable now and we shouldn't rely on him being fit. Bayo - unknown.

Summary
100% need 2cb and a rb
Would also be nice to get an attacking no10/ winger and another striker.
Would be dissapointed to not see 4 or 5 come in.

Still Lennon Clarke any other serious contenders?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I don't think Clarke is in the frame for the job. I'm still holding out hope that Lennon is being lined up to be No.2 to a foreigner but I think that's all it is, hope. So far there's been no concrete realistic rumours and things should move on and become clearer over the next couple of week because either way we need the new man in place asap after the cup final.}

Always been how we work. Go for the cheap option and cut back on quality every year. Will be the same with the quality of manager coming in. I don't think we need another striker personally and with the emergence of Jozo and Ajer of late they'll probably end up our first choice next season. Could still do with 2 CB and getting rid of Compper. Another RB, LB, LW and box to box midfielder will do. Likely a few of those will be loans again.

Cocu and NL would be a good choice compared to the other fantasy names being used for bookies to make money. Hopefully the Board have Cocu on their shortlist.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'd love to see a list of the applications and people who have shown interest we've had as I do think we'd be pleasantly surprised by the level of some of the names. I'd bet there will have been a few that gave Lawwell palpitations when he thought about the budget!}

I've just got a bad feeling it will be Lennon some of the statements regarding next season he has stated.

Talk of hooper coming back has me worried. It's a huge step backwards, he is not the player we sold to Norwich.

One Ronny Deila Hayes is out of contract end of season.

{Ed007's Note - Hayes signed a 3-year deal running until summer 2020, Phil.}

If the new type of manager most of us want does come in we may be in for some serious changes. Obviously PL would be key but SB had a resurgence 3 years ago and maybe the new guy wants more in midfield. Would still play a part but I'd happily go for Calmac and a new version of broony. Also, if someone down south offers 20m for JF, we should bite their hand off. For me, only Calmac, KT, KA and eddy, would be non sellers. Alex Ferguson let his team go to rot because they kept winning for him. He couldn't look beyond his retirement. I'm not saying ditch everyone else, but I believe they can all be bettered with some decent money spent. Just need the right guy to mould a new team that will last 4-5 years. I feel this one isn't going to last.

The fact Lawwell doesn’t seem like he cares for improvement is a bit of a joke. At this point it’s as if he doesn’t care to better the club. High Calibre players are available on a free, he’s hedging his bets on Izzy again with a new contract.

OneRonnieDeila why do we need a new number one when Scott Bain In 27 domestic games has conceded just 4 goals, that is good enough for me. oldkilly.

Why does it have to be a foreigner? Hahahaha what?

Just Pedro off the streets of Barcelona rather than Lennon.

Nothing to do with quality just a fancy name please.

Managers from foreign leagues tend to play more technical football. We’ve been caught out by that a lot in the past few years.

Tesla369 I think you would rather see us go back the way as long as Lennon was in charge permanently.

Doesn't matter where manager hails from as long as they push us forward. Lennon can't get tactics right, too many games we have scraped by and it will be a huge mistake if he gets job permanently.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Isn't Neil Lennon a foreigner, so it's Pedro off the streets of Barcelona or Lennon off the streets of Lurgan, both from foreign countries?}

this budget thing confuses me at times, these guys at the helm are all good business men and should know how to make money.
We have just made our biggest turnover ever with BR and have 10s of millions in the bank.
As I see it we have 2 choices, we go down the Lennon route at a million a yr for eg whilst not getting a class manager and no kudos and PR out of it.

Or we can get a class manager for say3-4 mill a year and he brings in the kudos, PR, season ticket sales, and players hopefully and CL and money ofcourse.
The 2nd option whilst no garauntee we have a much better chance of success and making the money, BR just proved that.

I don't see it as a speculate to accumulate thing, its just a good sound business model and allows us to grow and become more like an Ajax. Someone asked me the other day if Celtic lost 40m to a fraud like the accies did would we go under, simple answer is no so now is the time. BTW ed any idea what Wenger doing nowadays.
BTW ed and.

I was just thinking about how good simonovic has been recently and did a bit of digging his last 15 games 13 clean sheets the other two games were Valencia The boy is extremely underrated and is kicking on now and adding goals to his game, if we can keep him of the table simo and ajar will do me for years too come very good partnership that will only get better get a good right back in the Similar mould to tierney and we might just have a defence that can grow to be solid enough in Europe.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I’ve always rated him but he seems to have been the fall guy for some on here, particularly, when we lose goals in Europe to team who everybody loses goals to.

There’s definitely a right good defender in jozo if he can steer clear of injuries. Both him and ajer have looked the part since boyata got injured. Still think we need another quality CB brought in in the summer though.

COYBIG he's been criticised because he's been terrible at times, it's as simple as that. Now he's being praised for playing really well. His biggest problem is he can't find the good form consistently.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2019 10:03:07
When has he been terrible? I've never seen him have a howler on par with Boyatas.

Simunovic fell out of favour with fans because he was injured so often.

Somehow our fans have this thing that if someone keeps getting injuries then they attribute that to being poor.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 May 2019 10:18:26
He has defiantly had some poor form tesla. But I do think it was to do with confidence issues.

For a while it looked like he was apprehensive about going full blooded in to challenges and was worried about injury but he seems to have got over that now and if he stays fit he will be a good asset to have in the squad.

With Boyata and Benkovic out Ajer and Jozo have stepped up and get better everytime they play together. With Boyata, Benkovic, Compper and hopefully Hendry leaving or put out on loan we bring in 2 good Centre Halves.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2019 12:03:53
It was always just hard finding form when in and out the team with injuries.

Even Tierney this year struggled for form we know he's capable of due to injuries.

For simunovic it was never about ability though, he always had it.

Only thing he didn't suit was Rodgers over passing at the back.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2019 12:36:40
I think simunovic is a bit like brown when he is injured. Takes a few games to get back on form.

He was great last season but injuries have hindered his progress this season. I think he will be at his best next season.
