Congratulation Andy Murray what a hero!

This, in my opinion is the 2nd biggest achievement in Scottish sporting history just behind the Lisbon Lions.

Incredible to beat Djokovic 3 sets to love.

Around the world

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Superb Andy murray is that the greatest scottish sporting victory sinse sixty seven?I don't know but it was bloody amazing well done son
thommyj

Agree0 Disagree0

The best thing I saw other than the great victory was Alex Salmond clapping loudly in that Ahole Cameron's ear and waving a saltire behind him. let's remember he's a product of these great islands of Scotland

Agree0 Disagree0

Good to see Sir Chris Hoy there. Several Olympic gold medals winner. Another great Scot.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well done Andy, you did Scotland proud!!

From one of your biggest critics ~ Mrs E

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said Mrs. E I have also been a critic. However, given the fact that a couple of favourites went out early on, and the british media obviously jumping on Andy as the only one left, I think the boy done sooooooooooooooo well to handle the pressure. Good on ye son!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Davie, I did think oh oh no when he blew the first 3 match points, don't let your bottle crash here!

A well deserved victory though and think he has slowly won most of his critics over. I did have goosebumps when he won lol ~ Mrs E

Agree0 Disagree0

You're quite right! It is indeed the biggest Scottish sporting victory since Scotland became unofficial world champions in 1967.

Lol sorry couldn't resist!

ed, tims, I have a theory about all these new signings across the city . no doubt about it, they can't afford what they are doing . six in already and talk of at least another two .
theory :- devious but simple . they are all freebies, but worth something . they don't start getting wages til end of september . pay them 4 months wages . 8 x 25 = 200 k per month x 4 £800,000 .
with a team of spl players league should be over by xmas .

JANUARY SALES EVERYTHING MUST GO

sell the best 8 . for what ever they can get .? I don't know what any of these money grabbers are worth but i'm pretty sure they could double their money . so they win the title and get some dosh to help with the admin fees . scallywags . shammy

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think more along the lines of them been assets for when they go into administration jus like the old club.
Gordybhoy44

Agree0 Disagree0

I think its worse than that Shammy. We will have to wait and see what develops with this saga. Everything that does develop always seems a nightmare for them. We know there isn't any accounts yet, which is worrying. They've been going over a year now.
Who owns them? Who's the main man? Smith is a temp chairman and Mathers is a temp CEO. It was SDM then Whyte then green now nobody really knows and Whyte has a convincing legal claim.
Where's the £22m? That isn't for opex costs, that's for capital investment. Why isn't Ibrox renamed? Why isn't Murray park renamed? What's BDO up to? Over a year and old rangers still not liquidated. Where's HMRC with their top tier tax tribunal appeal for EBTs?
Clearly this is a zombie company and as such can be ordered to pay the debt of the old company as the whole exercise has been a debt avoidance scam. Including fleecing the taxpayer. George Galloway was correct.
There's Uefa rules stopping clubs that don't have three years accounts entering Uefa qualifying tournaments, so why have the Ibrox mob been allowed in Scottish cup for last four years? There's been no accounts for four seasons out of Ibrox.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good theory, could well be a plan, only problem is none of them are worth a great deal and I don't see the doors of Ibrokes being battered down for any of them . Drewzybhoy .

Agree0 Disagree0

Shammy I like a good bargain and the January sales but there's just some things I would not pay the money for.

Realistically who could you sell for a fee after 4/5 months of 3rd tier Scottish football? ~ Mrs E

Agree0 Disagree0

And Campbell still keeps his job.

Agree0 Disagree0

More like Tkd Maxx, sales, stuff that was fashionable yrs ago, and you, d have to be desperate to take

Ska bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Did the £22m share float pay off Ticketus? They had the rights to four years tickets at Ibrox, now those season tickets are being sold and Ticketus is getting nothing. Surely they would have a huge claim against a zombie company particularly if it was owned by Craig Whyte.

ED007 I saw your reply to a post about Hooper either signing a new contract or he should be sold.
What about this scenario.
Hoopers goals help us qualify again for CL group stages making us minimum £15m, then if he signs pre contract with another club he should leave with our blessing having made us more than the £5m transfer fee talked about. Lennon then has more money next season to reinvest in squad. Timalloy {Ed007's Note - Why should Hooper be treated any different than any other player though Tim. Look at it the other way, what if he didn't score any goals and we still qualified, or what if we didn't qualify at all?
This is PL first challenge against player power, he needs to be seen to do the right thing for the club, and that is sign up or ship out. Anything else will send out the wrong message to current players or any future signings. Would you be happy to see Forster, Ledley, Brown or Adam Matthews etc all be allowed to walk away for nothing leaving us millions out of pocket and with a new team to build. It goes against everything that the club's business model (and fans expectations) is based on, hungry young players, brought in and improve, before getting sold for a profit.
All the fans know this so I really don't see why there is any call at all for Hooper to be allowed to run down his contract. It just proves that what we are doing behind the scenes is being a success.
With QPR strengthening their interest I would be surprised if a deal with them can't be done, they have money to spend and are ideally located for Hooper. Unless any of the EPL sides decide to match the asking fee or CFC drop the price I think QPR will be his destination.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree with Ed. I also agree the level of club for his future destination. I also said thus about VWs future club. let's get some perspective here celtic pluck both players from obscurity for minimal outlay. They play well in SPL and show more potential against CL clubs. But EPL top six already have more established and better players in both their positions. If these two go to QPR and Southampton respectively and set the heather on fire then top six will look. Their value by that point will have gone up and PL would have sell on clauses. IMO that's the next level for these pkayers and either they make it or they don't.

Agree0 Disagree0

@ 1). Perfectly explained. I've been saying this about Wanyama's "quality" for some time but most people seem to disagree with me. He won't go straight to a top club in any other country. He'll have to prove himself at a club considered to be better than SPL standard first. They don't need him and they won't have looked at his performances in the SPL with the great admiration we would like them to have. The bottom line is still the same: MOST (but not all) top SPL players who move to England do not make the grade.

Hail Hail
ChrisBhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

@1, maybe established, but not better, if you think better you probably think wayne rooney is worth a 1/4 million a week, i.e you believe all the media tells you how good a slightly above average player is but you put down vw just because he plays in spl, celtic should hold onto him aslong as they can, the money they lose on transfers they will get back on going further in europe. {ed007's note - it sounds like you are a bit guilty of exactly what you are accusing @1 of. wayne rooney is not on 1/4 a million a week. again the rags throw out a number and everyone pounces onto it.}

Agree0 Disagree0

You took that the wrong way ed, I have'nt a clue what wr is on a week, but I know how he is lauded by the media, what got on my goat is when @1 used the word better, far as i'm concerned rooney or beckham in the past are no where as good a player as vw, and I can't think of a current epl midfielder that can be described as better than vw, but that's my opion and as brian clough said that's the only one that matters. {Ed007's Note - Aaaahh got you now, sorry.}

Agree0 Disagree0

@4 your saying that VW is better than michael carrick to name a few. Seasoned EPL and CL performers. If so why is only Southampton at the races. I think he has great potential at my posts refer. GH better than Wayne Rooney again not a chance at this time. They will go to lower level EPL clubs and if they improve on what they do possibly they will be the better more developed players that top six clubs want

Agree0 Disagree0

The EPL is a cartel. They have their own internal rules. Do you guys think its an open competition. Sopotcelt.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good points. My opinion is that Rooney and co are all made to look better because of the foreign talent around them. Take them out of that quality and they show how talented they really are. The England team being classic example. Rooney is a bully but he can score a goal or two. Bec kham could deliver a perfect ded ball (he is also a team man regardless what he is asked to do). Hooper should stop reading his own press. He is good but looks better in the environment he plays in. CL showed he could perform at a higher level but not proven consistently. QPR etc. just about the right level for him. Wee Eddie

If you knew the full extent of his past injuries you would be more concerned that Celtic were taking enough time to check him over rather than rushing his medical.

How come its mid July already and SFA have had no accounts from sevco and there's a firm regulation accounts have to be in by may? 41 clubs complying and sevco non conformance but no punishment.
Green started the new club over a year ago and no accounts!
Sevco are supposed to have three years audited accounts to be even among the 42, another regulation swept aside.
Two weeks ago Regan said on TV he was to punish them for the sevco5088 green link to Whyte when green told the SFA Whyte was not involved in the new club. Where's all that? On holiday in Kavos?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mate, there is no mystery . if they had nothing to hide, they would published audited accounts . it really is as simple as that . they are in big trouble again .

Hoopers is still on his original terms from when he first signed as he has never signed any extension or improved deals so he will be on nearer 11-12k.

Scott Brown who you forgot to mention is on the highest wage 26k a week before bonuses

Joe Ledley is our highest earner at 24k a week but then the highest bonuses and he also negotiated a deal to keep all his image rights and the earnings that come from that after coming on a free transfer.

Agree0 Disagree0

That's not accurate Scott brown is missing from highest earners.

Where are those numbers from? I think they are well off. green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

McGeouch is on 3k a week. It was widely reported by the biased rags after he left the lowlifes to come home to Celtic. I imagine this was to suggest he only left to come back for the money or to put pressure on the lad. No doubt something along those lines, you know how they work.
