Hi Ed, was just wondering if you could clear something up for me? If Rangers Oldco have now been liquidated then why are they still allowed to wear the same badge now they are Sevco and why do Sky Sports and other media outlets continue to call them Rangers when it is infact The Rangers? Surely by doing this it's like trying to blank out the fact they are not the same team, get people to forget about their wrong doing and continue on like nothing has changed? Greg. {Ed007's Note - The oldco has not been liquidated yet. BDO have to sort out the liquidation and rule on the name etc.}

Believable1 Unbelievable4

Has someone not lodged an objection to the liquidation? If true it would be very interesting to know who and why?...........green jhedi

Are we actually interested in signing anyone this summer? Think we missed a trick with not going for Markus Rosenberg, think he would have been a very good player for us

They are getting players they cannot afford and can't sell on for a fee CB...don't go down that road again. Leave them to it, we've all seen how that one ends. In the liquidiser. Mrs E

I take a couple of days away from here and find an imposter "timalloays tm"
so if this wis wee Pat (which it has been "Vera"fied it is not) he would be
saying "we Ciani sign Rhodes" But ah see Celtic are "building roads"
aroon Celtic Park (the Celtic Way) and bricks are only £150 and £75, of which wee "Pat" has guaranteed at least 20 pence from each brick will go to Celtic, well expenses are dear, not on wages but on the £30,000 beer tab behind the Sara Heid bar...for his Irish navvy workforce. But the road is guaranteed to be "stoutly" built in fact a contender for the Guinness book of records, which is no small beer. Not wee Pat fae posso

just had a wee look on newco site. first 3 post all about where they can see and hear the game for nothing . best fans in the world. oh and guess who is top of the list . pob . would have thought he would be at the game to fill one of the 30,000 empty seats .. shamrock

Believable5 Unbelievable6

Didnt know Ibrox had a 80,000 capacity since there is 50,000 at the game.

Agree3 Disagree5

Just checked 'The Rangers' score on sky sports app, only media outlet I've seen refering to them as 'The Rangers' so far, fair play to them! L1888

Agree4 Disagree2

Shamrock yes I saw that, and a wee bit down his other post was "let's all get behind Ally and what he is trying to do, A new era for Rangers"....
I tried to ask why he was not at game, but guess what post not put up..
This is from guy who gives it large to Green Jhedi, myself, Mrs E etc.. about supporting his team. We have all asked him if he has bought season ticket yet (reduced) so think we all know answer now...
Maybe buying his Celtic season ticket has taken all his cash? Timalloy

Agree2 Disagree3

Big enough man to apologise, i was only going with what i read in the papers this morning , they were saying 22,000. still i'm happy for east fife if they get half the gate money..shamrock

A question more than a rumour here... But what exactly are our priorities this year?? If it's the league then do we really need to purchase a big name CB or CF? I believe the current squad is good enough to win the league so if we get pumped out of Europe I'd rather see the 3-4m spent on 3-4 youngsters with potential... Wanyama type players where you try to uncover more gems.

However, if Europe is the priority then why haven't we filled the gaps that are very obviously needing filled??

Believable2 Unbelievable2

I reckon since the WGS years we have been looking at financial targets as priority.
Cutting the wage bill while chasing domestic honours was a fantastic achievement and his 3 SPL titles in a row were a credit to him.
The fact that we fared well in the CL (apart from away form), punching above our weight was another fantastic feat without the class/star players of MON.
We now have a young talented squad who have stuttered a bit lately and found CL football a tall order; so domestic honours must again be obtained/expected
as the board have obviously seen the demise of former-Rangers as a reason not to splash the cash pre-season. IMO...

Believable1 Unbelievable2

U cud see how much we missed Broony's drive on Sat so he must start. Izaguirre does look a shadow of the player we signed but he should be given more time to get up to speed which only comes with games. I think its time for Samaras to be given another shot up front because Hooper and stokes is a tired partnership that doesnt work anymore.

Forster
Matthews Mulgrew Rogne Izaguirre
Forrest Brown Wanyama Commons
Hooper Samaras.

Green Judge

Believable5 Unbelievable3

Maybe Murray's argument is that all CONTRACTUAL payments WERE in fact declared to the SFA and SPL. I seem to recall Paul McConville commenting on the fact that Celtic didn't notify either the SPL or SFA regarding Juninho, although it is known that Brian Quinn paid the tax retrospectively on hid EBT. Is it possible that Celtic would've deliberately tried to mislead the football authorities? Especially with Brian Quinn at the helm? I don't think they would have and it is very likely that Celtic didn't 'notify' the SFA or SPL because any payment through Juninho's EBT was NOT CONTRACTUAL. If that is proven to be the case then it's obvious that Murray will argue based on the same logic.

Agree1 Disagree1

Rangers players had 'side letters' this is where the agrument lies.

Agree3 Disagree0

Should it not be the case then that if EBT's were used wrongly ALL staff that used them pay the money back ? and is that why there is so much squirming going on...after all there's 50+ people involved including MM himself

Green Judge

Agree0 Disagree0

My understanding is that all payments have to be declared to the SPL contractual of otherwise. Discretionary payments are not allowed. The Arguement for EBTs is that no payment is made to the player only to a trust from which the player could borrow. This is a bit dodgy. But if there is a contract (side letter) then they should be decalred to the SPL. I think Celtic might have a case to answer on Junino's EBT and they might get docked points / stripped of the Cup win. But Rangers definately have a case to answer and could loose a whole lot more. If teams claim for lost prize money that would be football debt and Green has agreed to pay football debts.

I agree with the poster below - IMO (and have posted it previously) it is a lack of a genuine attacking midfielder - a true Number 10 - that is a problem at times. We struggle to break teams down who sit in, we cannot pass through them. Almost all SPL teams will sit in against us this season, at some point.
People are crying out for a target man(?) We may have width in our side but we generally use it to counter-attack or cut inside. We don't fling a lot of crosses into the box. A genuine target man means a lot of long-balls and can cut the midfield out completely for spells.
Unfortunately we need to wait on midfielders leaving before anyone is signed - Henricksen may be the answer - or Ibrahim (if we ever see him!).................kbt1978

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We dont get crosses in because Stokes and Hooper are useless and hopeless in the air. They seem scared to attack a ball

Agree0 Disagree0

Am a rangers fan and i dont agree a think you have a great side just a idea but i would try forrest behind the strikers he attack minded skillfull and can find a player

just clicked on the daily ranger and can't believe just how bad it is. Landed a craft on mars, homes flooded up and down the country etc etc, yet David Murray's denial that there was cheating is the main story. It is on their home page about 3 times, along with 5 more features involving you them, WTF, honestly, No free minded Scottish football fan should buy that rag ever again and if thjeir staff xfers bto another rag, buoycott that too. Think the whole of the free minded Sottish football fans should take a stance against this rag once and for all. In previous years we have started and stopped it, but I think these people that work at that rag will never change. There is absolutley no regard for fair play with them. I think in respect for the great work the RTC blog did, the rest ofus can at least do this, Bin the Daily Ranger for Good!!! From this day I will never buy this again, even whilst abroad, I will never buy this filth ever again.

Believable7 Unbelievable3

Totally agree this rag has been rangers sevco mouth piece for years lets ban it from ph and please tic fans stop buying it

Agree4 Disagree1

Dont buy it then? whats the problem? I assumed with years of celtic fans moaning about it nobody was actually buying it?

Am I the only ghuy that thinks the bord are right to hold fire wi' the signings. NL has been given plenty of backup when he brought in Wilson, Matthews etc. We should have more than enough to see off Helsinki (fingers crossed), if not, we buy a guy like Berra and go with what we've got. I know lots of ghuys and ghirls have been saying about 'Speculate to accumulate', ...we CANNY DO THAT, THE MONEY ISNY THERE!! Personally I think the Europa League is now our level. Hope with every bone in my lovely body that I am wrong, but we'll see. I love the 'Tic. Let's get real!

Believable2 Unbelievable1

I think they will spend if we qualify for CL.. if we dont theres no need to spend. PL will see we still have most of the squad that won the league so why spend, right or wrong is our decision to make. but i remember only a few months ago several posters on here were applauding PL for the way he has run celtic. also the league is ours for a good few seasons so with no real challenge to come why would he shell out transfer fees and big wages unless we are involved in europe. like the poster i hope im wrong........bhoywonder
