Great news in regards to Celtic securing BR to complete 10 in a row. Peter Lawell branded him one of the best managers in Europe and all the goons are on Radio Snyde crackin up. Brilliant, this is pure gold! Once again, Lawell is master of the wind up. happy days!

Great business by the club getting BR tied down. If another team comes in for him now they'll need to pay top dollar or look elsewhere. Well done Celtic. HH.

It's really positive news, I don't think that he would have signed such a deal unless he was convinced about the ambition of the club.
For the last 4 or 5 years the board seemed content to win the league and very little else, this approach was frustrating as it felt like the club was stagnating. All fans ask for is for the club to try and reach its potential, the difference in mood this season has been massive.
Supporters can take setbacks as long as they see the club doing what they can to get success. I think the season ticket sales will go well this summer.

Great news, but for me that's a statement of intent.
Money will be spent.

I am over the moon. The most important signing is the manager. Forget players the manager is the one who makes it happen.

I think by signing a new extended deal BR has probably settled any players who might have been in doubt regarding renewing contracts
It's more than BR that this decision effects it also has a bearing on our youngsters progress and the ability to persuade any new signings of managerial stability
It's a massive message the fans also HH.

He's certain to go, he's certain to go, no he's staying for 10 In a Row! 😜🍀🙊 Chuffed to bits Brendan has signed till 2021! Can it get any better being a Tim right now!

Did anybody doubt he would stay to try for ten and have s go at the CL. Will be good to shut up the Hun press trying to get him a move to England though

Hoped it was news of keeping wee paddy. Maybe in the summer hopefully.

dont see the point of it, he was already on one year rolling contracts. i would rather the money was spent on top class players. a lot of fuss over nothing.

Neil McCann will have nothing to talk about now.

Shrewd bit of business actually James. We tie a top class manager up for 4 years meaning if an EPL club comes sniffing and offers a deal he can't refuse, Celtic pocket a fair compo package for him. Also, I think Brendan wants to go down in history as our 10 in a row manager. If anything, it's a show of how settled we are for the foreseeable future compared to Sevco, Brother Pedro and the comedy Gold club.

Agree4 Disagree12

{Ed007's Note - It also shows our current players and potential signings that the manager is committed and here for the long haul. I'm hearing that Stuart Armstrong extending his contract should be finalised in the next few days but the announcement could be held back till the cup weekend build up to maximise the feel good factor.}

07 Apr 2017 16:55:53
Exactly ed, it can't be anything but positive news. I'm sure he wouldn't have signed for the four years unless he was given certain assurances regarding budgets and control of the club.

Agree3 Disagree9

{Ed007's Note - Definitely mate, Rodgers will know that the board will back him and do everything they can to help move the Club forward. Rodgers has seen that unlike the EPL where immediate success is demanded he'll get plenty of time here to develop young players which he obviously loves to do when you hear him speak.
I wouldn't be at all surprised to see out transfer record broken this summer.}

07 Apr 2017 17:28:44
Amen to that Brother

HH.

Agree2 Disagree9

{Ed007's Note - By the time Rodgers leaves Celtic we will be light years ahead in Scotland and hopefully our reputation in Europe will be restored along the way.}

07 Apr 2017 17:59:00
Ten in a row is going to be a great party for us, but a think Rodgers fancies building a team to do something in Europe. Then who knows what could happen. It's all good anyway, stability is what we've been crying out for for years, now we have it we can push the boundaries regarding players in and wages paid to attract the big bhoys.

Or he could be playing everyone like a fiddle? Earns more coin for himself in the short term but also softens the blow for the club when he leaves for Arsenal in the summer getting them a decent compensation fee for a 4 year deal rather than a one year rolling. Or when the Pedro juggernaut steamrollers the 7 in a row and he gets the tin tack he coins 3 years redundancy? Or have I taken it too far?

07 Apr 2017 19:52:27
i know all that rab, but it doesn't matter if he's on a 1 year, 4 year or 10 year deal, if a big english club comes in for him he'll be off anyway, no man is bigger than celtic.

Excellent news regarding Brendan, wee McCann will be gutted as it was the only bit of hope the sevconians had, well that and Dave kings warchest 😂😂😂
Being the manager to take Celtic to the ten i think would look great on Brendan's CV, add to that him improving us year on year in champions league he would have his pick of the jobs.

Next to get paddy Roberts signed permanent, Armstrong renewed contract, which as Ed said is on the cards, and a champions league level goalkeeper, a striker n possibly a midfielder with an eye for a pass, which Brendan has been talking about.
Here we go 10 in a row.

Season ticket hike? Was that a them or us comment? Not having a dig wast sure where that was aimed. BR had a negotiated slice of European money as an incentive. Eye watering if what I'm told is real. So what if he has now been given a boosted established safe contract. I'll happily say that I don't think this type of optimisim has ever existed in our fan group. I don't mean happy with the team I mean that we will crush our domestic leauge and bar interference/ off days pick up cups. Unique circumstances admittedly. Sevco off the rails, Aberdeen having thier best run in decades but still powder puff in europe. This is a rare rare time. It is frighteningly delightful to see where our team will be by the end of the next window if we hold onto our best. I'm sticking my pocket money away lads as this maybe a year to travel. If we screw the nut we may do well abroad this year.

uj think that's wishful thinking on your part time to be a big bhoy and face up to it here we go ten in a row mind the gap HH.

Not Celtic related but anyone got there picks in for the grand national? Im going with Saphir Du Rhue, hasn't fell in this race for 3 years and was 5th in the gold cup. Has stamina! I'm sure Timalloy will be having a punt? Cheersum.

I fancy blaklion mate as my main bet, has a touch of class winning the RSA at cheltenham last year and has been trained with this race in mind this season, and will have a wee flutter on the young master aswell. the pipe horse veiux lion rouge is dangerous aswell having won both national trials where blaklion was 2nd but he has a few pound weight advantage this time round so i think blakion will do it. good luck! Guys I have two anti post bets on already
Cause of Causes 12/ 1
More of That 14/ 1 (do each way with bookie paying 5 places)
Also check out ED023 tips tomorrow on the Football Rumours Bet pages
As usual I am trying to find a BIG each way punt for tomorrow, some will know a few months ago I just got pipped for a 100/ 1 winner but the each way odds of 25/ 1 still gave a nice payout.
