Well done to our U20 team who beat Sevco's young team (thought every player was over 30 there ha ha) 2-0
If we win on Thursday against Dundee United we win league, although I would imagine the Tannadice team's under 20's will be difficult to beat going on their so called "big" team which is full of under 20's.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

They will be difficult enough, but Dundee United have nothing to win in under 20's but they wouldn't want to lose a player through injury that would be in the Cup Final team .

do pukki, balde and watt deserve another season,, should we sell them and cut our losses,, or do we loan them out to other spl clubs to see if they can perform in this league if played regular

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'd like to see Tony Watt back but the other two can go, along with a few others.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think there is a player hidden ( very well hidden ) in Pukki . I have little doubt that Watt has the ability but I very much doubt if he has the mental ability or discipline to become a footballer . Celtic may be too big a club for him . Balde is very hard to judge, sometimes I think he looks the part and other times, he looks so awkward and with so little ball control, he is almost a joke .

Agree0 Disagree0

There's other Clubs happy to let players pick up a wage and perform below par, we've watched the team underperform domestically for at least 2 seasons now and something has to give.

Granted allowances were made last season as we reached the last 16 of the Champions League but a shake up somewhere is needed and players with 'hidden' talents need to go.

Agree0 Disagree0

There's too much quantity and not enough quality, particularly in attack. Neither can get any sort of run, partly because there are too many others also needing a run. Say we didn't have Balde, Pukki would have featured more and we would have a better idea. Or vice versa. Then throw Fridjonsson and Watt into the mix. Definitely a transitional period this summer for me. Much more of a shake up needed than I thought.

Agree0 Disagree0

We disappointed in the cup competitions but we have been very consistent in the SPL and I think we are stronger in the second half of season than the first .

Agree0 Disagree0

Give me the reigns at Celtic with the current squad and I'd be very consistent, it's hardly an achievement.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye I'd say give them another season, if it doesn't work then no great loss. I defo think pukki and watt need the chance. I'd give balde out on loan to partick thistle or someone to let him prove his self

Just wondered what players are out of contract this summer?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Kris Commons, Dylan McGeouch, Steven Mouyokolo, Samaras and Lewis Toshney off the top of my head.}

Would like to see commons and mcgeouch get a new contract

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers ed just wasn't sure since all people seemed to talk about was Sammy being out of contract!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - No worries mate. I'm on my laptop now so you can add Bahrudin Atajic, Patrik Twardzik and Darnell Fisher to the list.}

So our YPOTY, Darnell Fisher, is free to walk away for nout at this present moment? Not only this but we're financially sound yet our manager is welcoming bids for his best before the window even opens by saying things like "there might be a bit of a turnover in terms of players". What a joke our club has become!

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed, I like wee Fisher and will be pretty pissed off if he leaves for nothing. I know we have 2 good rbs as it is but I'd move lusting into cb and keep mattews and Fisher for rb. Move Ambrose in a cdm role. I'd also like to see us make a move for Fabian giefer who plays in the bundesligua 2 to replace big Frazer the lad has potential.

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely its a honest but nothing statement to make, that there may be a big turnover of players in the summer
I don't think that anyone could reasonably interpret that Fisher was necessary in Lennon's mind when he made the statement .

Seen a quote from commons the day saying he hopes we can bring hooper back so just wondering if the option is there how many would welcome him back? for me it's a no not out of hatred or bitterness that he left cause he was a good servant and he obviousy had a genuine thought that going 2 norwich would enhance his england prospects. So for me it's a no how about yous? for debates sake lol

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Whether you would want/like Hooper back will be the Poll of the Day vote tomorrow as well. I'm with you Gunnie and it's a no from me. I've never been a fan of players returning but for me Hooper wanted to leave CFC, that's the bottom line and we should move on before we become like Sevco with the old pals act and looking at ex-players to return instead of finding and nurturing new talent.
The only plus point I can see is that it would hopefully put paid to Griffiths' CFC career.}

I agree ed a hate ex players coming back it's up ther with these players saying they want 2 finish ther careers with us lol can't stand it

@Gunniebhoy and ED007 I would welcome Hooper back to Celtic no problem.
Ok he wanted to leave to try the EPL but Celtic still got £5m which was almost double what we paid and we got 3/4 years and plenty of goals from him, we need a striker who can hit the deck running and can score goals in Europe Hooper fits the bill. I vote YES bring him back

Agree0 Disagree0

No from me as well mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would prefer not to bring him back.
Taking him back, might encourage others to move with the fall back that they could return if things didn't work out .

Agree0 Disagree0

See wer your comin from tim but was his choice 2 try his luck down ther a don't see why we should bail him out cause he will be in the championship next season. Plenty better than hooper have left celtic failed and not returned he's no different i'm sure some bottom 4 epl will maybe take a punt on him we will survive

Agree0 Disagree0

Right Gunnie. Let it be a message to our current players. It's just one reason why you don't leave Celtic for certain BPL clubs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Daily Fail have a article saying neil lennon has expressed an interest in bringin him back so it might happen but I hope not

Gary Hooper to celtic?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2621901/Gary-Hooper-target-Celtic-Neil-Lennon-admits-Norwich-striker.html

Agree0 Disagree0

Cmon Bhoys so Hooper wanted to try something else, so what. He could have stayed and walked for nothing, netting himself a higher wage. He hasn't been away that long and he is a top class player and proven. Gunnie I don't think we would be "bailing him out of the Championship", that is a strong league to play in and they would have a great chance of coming straight back up if they go down. We could probably negotiate a good deal for him as well. Look at that dud they have the now Van Swinkle or whatever his name was, he was scoring for fun and they paid £8/9M for him. That could happen to us so if it does happen I will welcome Hoops back with open arms, a very good player. Hail Hail

Agree0 Disagree0

Top class? TTT, I'm sorry but your standards of top class aren't anywhere near on par with mine. Hooper wanted out, his heart wasn't in his performances with the club for his final 6 months. Why should we welcome him back with open arms? No doubt he'll have a good season in the Championship with Norwich next year, that's his level.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aw, and while we're at it. Ricky VAN WOLFSWINKEL has hardly kicked a ball at Norwich, and when he has played this season he's barely managed more than 45 mins. You can't score goals if you're not getting game time. A bit like Pukki + Balde who are both doomed to exile at Celtic.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well it's not gona happen lol, this is just the Scottish media taking a sentance and turning it into a story because they have nothing else to write about. If Hooper comes back to Celtic this window I will take a naked selfie with a rangers flag poking out my bum. ha

Agree0 Disagree0

HB, I've watched a couple of Norwich games when the Wolf has played and he has been pump. Your idea of a top class striker is probably way out our league price wise and would they ever come to our beloved club. Hooper is tried and tested in Europe and SPL. He has the advantage of knowing our game inside out and will probably apologise to the fans if he returns because he knows now that he made a mistake in leaving. Hooper is still better than anything we have now and I would love to see him back. Won't break the bank either and I think the majority of our supporters would welcome him back too. Hail Hail

Agree0 Disagree0

My idea of a top class striker, Alfred Finnbogason, was very much in our price range last summer. But the great master of his art, Peter Lawwell, went on a white knuckle ride for the sake of £500k - and yes, he's now out of our price range!

Agree0 Disagree0

HB, Highdsight (spelling) is a great thing. If we would have spent £6-9M on a player like the Wolf, you would have been calling for NL heid on a platter. I admit we do need some quality but we must still be carefull that if it doesn't work out the hit can be taken. The Wolf was a class player before Norwich signed him and we would all have been very happy to get him. Just shows you though. I am sure a quality striker will be bought this summer and very much look forward to it. Hail Hail

ED007 can you please inform ED001 that most Celtic fans know that there is NO Old Firm anymore as Rangers died, therefore poll is irrelevant.
The Celtic fans have bigger fish to fry in the CL, as that is our main objective every season.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - then why is it you are all so sadly obsessed we had to put up a page especially for all your obsessive rantings about Rangers on here? Give it a rest Tim. As for the objective, you might want to tell your board that, as they do not invest for the Champions League level players. Your objective is clearly just to qualify for the group stages and bank some money.}

Sadly, numero uno here has nailed it to a T. Not just about the way we operate. The attitude of our fans though. The ones who go on the most about Rangers not being our rivals, well, they're the people most obsessed. New club or not, they're clearly still very much in the minds of a lot of folk for some reason.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hear, hear Ed001.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its the same ones posting about that mob day in, day out. Couldn't care less about them yet all we see on a regular basis is sh*t jokes about them and some reference to them posted.

Agree0 Disagree0

Regardless of the he said/she said, the original point is wrong anyway.

The poll isn't irrelevant.

People can miss Father Ted, without arguing as to whether or not Dermot Morgan really died.

Agree0 Disagree0

The fact the highlight of the Scottish football calendar was a Celtic v Rangers youth game (for some anyway) kinda sums it all up.

Seen the other day an argument about sandpits and stickers, I could not even be bothered looking into the cause of it. What other football club has these cringeworthy issues and how is this in anyway football related? Most argue/debate about whether players have been replaced, who our strongest weakest players etc.

My Son misses that Old Firm games and the competition – I know its not any fault of Celtic’s that the situation is what it is and the way the Ibrox Club has conducted itself recently has been an abomination no doubt about it.

I do not know the share price of Celtic never mind Rangers and I do not care what they call themselves and have no idea why some are hell bent with the word 'sevco' – they have registered themselves as something else and it contains the word Rangers. Rangers fans don't care if you call them Sevco, they've been called worse.

As long as I have been alive, they have been our biggest rivals and that does not go away overnight – no matter where they play.

ED001 as this is a banter site, we are all allowed different opinions which makes these sites so good. I think you will find most of the posts about the newco are in jest or disbelief at how brazen they are at not acknowledging that a liquidated company is no more, the Scottish msm try and keep the myth alive but everybody, including the dead club themselves know the truth. If BDO ever get round to doing what they are supposed to do as court appointed liquidators then their name and colours will be no more.
When Celtic had our financial troubles many many people wanted our club to die and actively tried to achieve their goal, so I hope you will allow this tim and any others to take amusement at their predicament brought on by their own folly.
They died trying to buy the one thing they could not buy, The European Cup. hail hail

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - right, that will be why you post so many times a day on the Rangers site then is it Tim? As you obviously aren't that bothered about them, but still make the time to post a number of times a day on a Rangers site. No shame in being obsessed with your closest rivals, even when they aren't challenging you, but there is a shame in being too much of a coward to admit it. Man up mate, no one here will judge you for it, they are all obviously just as obsessed or there would be no need for the Rangers page to have been added on here.

Right now I am going the docs to see about getting my tongue removed from my cheek ;o)

06 May 2014 16:15:12
ED001 ha ha I can take it (as long as your tongue stays in YOUR mouth lol)
Yes guilty as charged, I go on wee fishing trips to the dark side for a laugh.
As it is a banter site 001 have they cleaned up all the broken glass down Anfield way with all those bottles crashing (Tim says with HIS tongue in his mouth lol)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I was just wondering if the groundsman appreciated Suarez's attempts to water the pitch after the match for him. Must have saved him a job.}

I don't think it is really fair to say that the objective is just qualify, as last season ( 2012/13 ) we had an exciting and successful Champions League campaign. I look forward to repeating in 2014/2015 season . I would expect that we learned from this season .

Agree0 Disagree0

Correct me if I'm wrong Chris02, but does this not sound to you like we're only here for a party?

In 2012 he said:

"All the pressure was on the previous two rounds, now our supporters will take the view that it is great to be back and go and enjoy it and see where it takes us.

Last summer he said:

"I think it's the best and the worst draw we could have got. In terms of glamour it doesn't come any better than Barcelona, AC Milan and Ajax but in terms of football it doesn't come any harder. I think the hard work was done [against Shakhter Karagandy], so now we can enjoy it."

That's not the attitude of a large professional sports team in an elite sporting competition, it's the attitude of a bit part diddy team out of their league!
