Not sure if we have been looking for a new 'keeper, but if we have then we've missed out on a good one. Mat Ryan has gone to Brighton and Hove Albion. He'll do well there, and could well be good enough to keep them up.

If Johnny Hayes signs for us then I'll be quite content. I could understand people being upset if he was our main summer signing but there is absolutely nothing to suggest that's the case. He's different to the other wingers we have as Sinclair has pace in abundance and if we keep Paddy he has flicks and tricks whereas Hayes is quite powerful and can get to the by-line and also chips in with some goals, 2 against us in the last 2 games. IMO he's much better than GMS and I also prefer him to Forrest.

Not to sure it's true but I'd look at it this way
Left side 1st choice sinclaire
Back up Hayes
Right side 1st choice roberts
Back up forrest.

That's what I'm hoping for Kev.

I'd also be happy with Roberts and Hayes but we also need to strengthen the cb position.

07 Jun 2017 11:55:24
Decent first choices and back ups kev83. would be surprised though if Hayes settled for being second choice and appearances limited to coming off the bench and cup games.

07 Jun 2017 15:56:46
The guy is 30 years old and never played for a big club. Plus wage rise and a decent amount of games I'd think he'd settle.

07 Jun 2017 18:46:46
What has his 29/ 30 years of age to do with his ability to come and work under Brendan and improve like most players .

Agree0 Disagree2

08 Jun 2017 09:31:48
Old man Chris 30 years old Has NOTHING to with his ability and getting better under Rogers.
But at 30 it would most likely be his last chance for a big paid day and last chance to play for a club of our size.

If we loose moussa but keep paddy before the CL qualifiers would everyone be confident of securing the group stages?

I am resigned to loosing the moose, but I'm am clinging to the hope of signing PR.

If this was to happen I would still be confident of CL qualification, and we should have a massive transfer budget/ attraction for transfer targets etc in support of next season.

Risky strategy or the sensible option?

Island Celt
How can you claim to be a Celtic supporter and not believe a word our club, our football management and indeed Dembele himself .
The only people that constantly say Dembele is for the off is the MSSM . I don't believe a word they say or print . Obviously you do Island Celt.

Agree0 Disagree13

07 Jun 2017 08:15:51
I hope you're being sarcastic chris?

My opinion is that an offer will come in for dembelle (although I hope it doesn't) and the club won't stand in his way.

This has haw to do with the media.

I also hope paddy will stay but I've been got nothing to go on apart from gossip.

You form your own opinions I won't question your Logic, however I do take offence at you intimating that I'm not a celtic supporter.

Agree1 Disagree1

07 Jun 2017 11:48:26
Dembelle is a much more important player for progress in Europe than PR, hope Dembelle stays for another season at least.

08 Jun 2017 15:36:59
Dembele will stay. don't believe the Chelsea and inter Milan guff. They will buy the finished artical especially Chelsea. He is here for another year then when he has had a CL run and another season he will go. Hope so anyway.

08 Jun 2017 15:57:52
Island Celt . I am certainly not being sarcastic but I cannot for the life of me understand when a player says he isn't leaving and when the club say the same, I am afraid I cannot understand why someone who I presume want him to stay says he is going . Unfortunately you arn't a lone and I would hate our fans to be seen opening the door for Dembele to leave . His agent could pick up fans talking up his departure .

Maybe you are too young to remember H Larrsson at Celtic . He stayed with us for 7 yrs . Nearly every year there were rumours of him leaving .
We never received a bid because when Manchester United Barcelona and others showed interest Dermot Desmond reminded them they had a team full of stars, he told them we had only one and wouldn't welcome a bid . I don't think we got one .

Talk up our club, be proud of what we have and keep the glass half full and don't indicate you are not a Celtic fan.

Now I do believe that the gaffer will get backed by the board this summer.
But sometimes our top targets won't commit till after they know if we will be playing in champions league or not
so with that in mind would people rather wait and sign the top targets or move on to guys that would sign straight away?

Kev I'm quite confident our current squad (Paddy included) is more than capable of getting to the Group stages. I doubt BR will rush into buying just for the sake of it.

All these Mexican players are in my opinion a gamble. Alves is a quality signing but will the Mexicans fancy Aberdeen on a wednesday night in january? The whole Rangers thing will end in more tears. Pedro gone at end of season then what. New manager and new squad. This is last roll of the dice.

Ed, How do you feel about future contracts if/ when we win 8 in a row. Do you think having the carrot of going for 9 or players being history makers going for 10 will play a huge part in getting players to extend contracts or even us being able to attract new players in. It will surely be a huge incentive for any player to be a part of it. Guys that signed last season on 3 year deals will be coming to the end of their contracts and if we are successful in getting 8 in a row it's a massive bargaining tool for us really why would anyone want to leave. Puts us in a very good position so winning the title next season and the season after is hugely important and we should be doing everything we can this summer to ensure we have the right squad in place for the next couple of years atleast.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - Guys like KT and hopefully Armstrong will want to stay around for 10 - I know KT has told people that - and players like Brown and Lustig will hope to still be playing for us I'd imagine depending on the condition of their bodies.}

06 Jun 2017 15:12:45
I'm probably in a minority of one here, but I don't really like all this talk of ten in a row.
Obviously I hope that we do it, but I think that we should just enjoy this period in our history, however many titles we rack up.
Looking 4 years down the line you can't tell what will happen, hopefully things will be as they are now, but you never know in football.
The press in Scotland would love us to fall short of 10 in a row, they would paint it that the last 10 years has been a failure, I don't think that's the case.
I'm only interested in what we do in the coming season, if we repeat what we do in the season just gone I'll be very happy.
I will get excited about 10 in a row in 3 years time, if we are in a position to go for it, until then I just want to keep enjoying the football we are playing.

Agree2 Disagree3

06 Jun 2017 15:33:23
Not me Gerry loving the 10 in a row talk.

whats making it more enjoyable, is watching sevco wasting money they haven`t got trying to stop us.

Big Mexican wave coming soon. bye bye Sevco.

06 Jun 2017 15:41:29
Gerry I think 10 in a row is exactly what we should be aiming for as a club and as fans. We are on 6 and we need to build from a position of strength. The Board need to show us they have a plan and a way to take us forward on and off the pitch. Having a target like 10 is exactly what we need we should make it our obsession. The Manager we have, the players we have and the overall state of the club should ensure 10 is not a dream but a reality. As i said last week we need to invest and make sure the gap doesn't just stay as big as it currently is but becomes wider each season. We have a huge opportunity to create history and that's exactly what we should do.

06 Jun 2017 15:46:36
Ed, cheers for reply I'm expecting either KT or SA to be the captain when 10 is lifted. Hope when Broonie calls time on his playing career there is a coaching position for him at Celtic Park.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - I think Brown will be hoping he's still captain lol

06 Jun 2017 16:12:19
Gerryc I don't worry about the MSSM trying to prevent us winning ten in a row . They have done their best trying to stop us winning one, and then two in a row, they may have played a major role in stopping RD bringing us through to six ( aided by fans and then our own players ) but all the media achieved was getting us Brendan and making us multiple times stronger.

Agree0 Disagree6

06 Jun 2017 16:26:25
Stan, I think if you concentrate on each individual season the future ones take care of themselves.
We have just enjoyed an unbeaten season, before Christmas nobody really spoke of doing it, we just concentrated on each match, but if we had lost a match along the way, it would still have been a great season.
I want every title we win to be special, I'm pretty sure that won't have any bearing on how many titles we end up with.

Agree0 Disagree2

06 Jun 2017 17:09:50
Agree that we definitely have to take each game and season as it comes but its also hugely important that we have long term targets so that we don't take our eye of the ball. We can't stand still and i'm optimistic it will be a good summer for the club. New players coming in, players we don't need leaving and continued work or plans for the stadium and surrounding area. Sevco won't see us for dust when we are singing here we go eleven in a row.

Got to chuckle at the worshippers, too busy seeing the emperor's new clothes in the first instance, not to notice what was happening in reality, not content with that, they are now trying to rewrite history, blaming everyone else but the I mean how bad would it have to have got with Ronnie, before you would admit he is a lovely guy but he is not a manager, it was people like you oldbhoy.

Ten in a row is the goal that keeps me going . I would be heart broken if we lose it .
To me we have done the ground-work, we have the squad available and great youth coming through . We have a top manager who understands the club and fans.

Aindoh there was a lot of unrest at the club in Ronnies last year. don't be too hard on Chris he is a real Celtic fan. Like you i disagreed with bis RD view but cut him in 2 and he would bleed green. God bless him. A few things have come out about how RD worked with the squad but more to come im sure. When you get BR in and see the difference its frightening. Well done to DD for getting him in. My biggest fear is losing Brendan. If we keep him we will do 10. Hope for a good CL run this year. don't think Gers will qualify either. So happy.

08 Jun 2017 21:45:51
I make no apology for backing and supporting any Manager or player who tries his best for Celtic . We are all in awe with Brendan for his treble and rightly so, but remember
" hapless"Ronnie was one total diabolical decision from attaining the treble in his first season . Ronnie failed because he was too nice a man and too inexperienced to handle the hostile media . Some of fans sided with the MSSM and then the dissent spread to dressing room and it was all over for Ronnie his goose was cooked .

Aindoh of course you are a rather late conversion to Ronnie, u wanted Moyes .
After you watche the first Barcelona match on the radio, you wrote pages ridiculing Brendan and his tactics.

I hope we do get one or two (RB, RW) in before the CL qualifiers begin, there's no guarantee of getting to the group stages, we could end up with difficult qualifying ties, and it's crucial to qualify in order to keep the star attractions, they won't be happy testing themselves domestically year on year, they could do that at lower level PL clubs for probably twice the wages. I'm sure BR knows what he wants, and has already had plans in motion to sign those targets, just hope the board ain't as tight as a ducks arse and invest some of the money we all work hard for and pass on via gate receipts and merchandise, I'm staying positive 2016/ 17 has been the best season I've had as a supporter, long may this feeling continue HH.

TBF to the board everything for it seems he has got/ is getting. from new pitch to the dome at the training ground so I don't see them changing that now with last seasons champions league money in along with a potential wad from VVD. Out of interest who was the source in the club that actually said we wouldn't get any cash till after the qualifiers? I'm assuming/ hoping it just paper talking mince as always.

If our team performs to the standard capable we will at least get through the 2nd and 3rd qualifying rounds even if Brendan doesn't get the players in that he wants . These may or may not be R B and R W . I suspect apart from Roberts we may not be starting with any newly signed players in either of these rounds.

I see Pedro got last years flops in at seven in the morning training as punishment. Let's be honest if it was midnight it still would t improve last years team but this years would need to be excused because of the sheer numbers that would be attending midnight mass.
