Does anyone know why Biton hasn't been involved in any of the pre-season friendlies?

Still recovering from his injury maybe. Is he definitely in Austria Ed? Is Rogic?

{Ed007's Note - I don't think he flew to Austria but I'm not 100% sure.}
Is he not on his honeymoon?
Agree0

He was on the bench last night, not sure if he was available for selection though, but he was sitting among the others.

Biton I meant, Rogic isn't in Austria.

ft,, 1-1,, more even second, the hot weather slowed it down, some changes second with pukki balde Griffiths Matthews Henderson mgregor fasan on after 60 mns with Henderson the standout, Griffiths looks a bit lost wide right of a 4-3-3 and amido was amido, I know its a friendly but pukki does great things sometimes then can't find the pass or can't control the ball and undoes the good bit, took his goal well though, its going to take time to adapt to the 4-3-3 rd likes to play but some encouraging signs, no watt or fridjonsson again

We didn't really get control on the game but it is only a warm up game after all! Some nice passing in patches but going no where.

If it was a 4-3-3 lads did we drop to a 4-5-1 well? Just we'll need to in Europe. Griffiths then in this role no surprise he didn't suit it. Need complete players in the wing forward roles. We need players who can play a better defensive game for this system, because the counter attack will most likely be our best outsource. But a counter is only useful if you don't concede. Hopefully this is still just getting us through the motions though. We'll face a worse side than this in Reykjavik.

1-0 ht, good game again with a great atmosphere its the last game athis stadium so its party time, idont know if this contributed but they looked a lot sharper for the first 20 odd mins and where the better team (we did have to re shape after losing broony to a nothing challenge, no news on him yet) but we have started to come back into it with some lovely passing moves and derk should have made it 1-1, will be brave from rd if he makes a new team change again as they are decent, but a game like this could be great for the youngsters .the green brigade will be envious of their mob as as been smokebombs and pyros all first half, the also have put on a coupl of great banner displays with one whole secyion of the support changing into the same shirts whilst it was over them

Was a good game overall. second half we were much better but can't complain with anyone out there and although they had there chances it took an own goal for them to score
we look good in pre season this year. probably the first time in a long time the team haven't been sluggish and sitting back
well done ronny and the coaching staff

agreed drb thought they were ahead of us in terms of sharpness McGeough looked best player on the park 1st half mate , and ditto really liked the look of this "crisp fast passing" atb jb7

I don't think either good or poor performances in pre - season are neither reasons to praise or reasons to ridicule . I think we should wait until at least we have completed the two legs in Europe before we give initial judgements.

Yourman,, were commenting on a celtic game just played, giving a few opinions wheres the harm?
Agree0
Disagree0
There is no harm, as far as I know . A reason for a sluggish performance could be over training prior to match, or also could be a serious lack of over all fitness. At this stage we have no idea why we have or have not a sluggish performance

Remind me how much wee paid for Derk Boerrigter? Pre-season friendly or not, a professional footballer in his late 20s not able to tap the ball into an empty net is a lost cause.

Hb . almost as worrying is how regurarly his last ball goes behind the forwards

Aye between the injuries and his form when he has played, he hasn't lived up to his hype or fee!

Watching the game here and Boerrigter has just had possibly the worst miss I've seen in my life, Broony injured after a minute doesn't look good

Now that the World Cup is almost over I'm sure John Park and Ronny Deila are starting to consider whether anyone has impressed them enough that they would like to try and sign them. The best players I've seen who would be a good signing for us are:
(Messi
Neymar
Rodriguez . )
Celso Borges - Costa Rica and AIK midfielder
Omar Gonzalez - USA and LA Galaxy centre back
Miguel Layun - Mexico and Club America fullback
Tommy Oar - Australia and Utrecht winger

I wouldn't have one of them . Many, many clubs throughout the Uk and Europe have in the past bought players on the basis of a good World Cup, only to be left with expensive flops on excessive wages . Players are better scouted on their domestic performances .

Hi Ed any chance of getting a poll up who do we think will be next seasons top scorer
Griffiths / Stokes / Commons or New signing/other
And on a separate note a know the scouts have been looking at the dutch and Belgian leagues for potential signings but are you hearing anything yet more concrete?
