Martial was the next best thing to be coming out of france, but moussa has outshone him and will get full cap soon. So comparing the 2 moussa wins on everything in my opinion. So not sure what his value was 40 something i think. When moussa goes its going to be on his terms to a super power team and they will pay silly money. Or on previous career moves i also wouldn't be surprised if he seen out his contract for 10 in row then leave on a free.
Either way i for one will be delighted either way

Evening ed bhoys and ghirls just a quick question regarding transfers this is probably the first year for probably the last 15 years or so I would be quite happy going with what we've got and keep the kitty for the summer. Would you agree ed or where do you think we need to strengthen thanks in advance

Believable3 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - I agree that we don't need to strengthen this window - or even the summer if I'm honest - to continue our domestic dominance but imo before the CL qualifiers next season we need a GK, a CB, CM, RW and I'd still like to see someone brought in to play the No.10 or role to compete with Rogic and cover for him when he needs rested or injured. Where do you think we should strengthen?}

06 Jan 2017 22:24:24
For champions league i would say new pacey right back, centre half, holding midfielder and a big centre forward. Is it just me as well ed I don't really rate forrest or mcgregor
Think they are weak links

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - I like McGregor and he is good enough to play in any domestic matches for us plus his adaptability to play a few positions is handy. Forrest is rank rotten, he'll have the odd purple patch but you know it's only a matter of time before he reverts back to mediocrity or worse.}

06 Jan 2017 22:33:02
New GK to challenge Gordon would be good, as I have no faith in the deputes and only a recently changed perception on Gordon. Another dip in form could be catastrophic in the qualifiers.
Not a new RB ed? I'm happy with Erik and jozo, but need good cover for them. For me I would ship out efe and boyata and bring one in.
RW totally agree, but I think we are also light on LW. Being spoiled with Sinclair to then have GMS coming in shows we don't have the quality as back up.

I don't think we need many additions to our starting 11 (bar maybe RB) , but strong competition for places would be ideal.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I don't get where the sudden thinking that we need a RB is coming from, I'm happy enough for Lustig to be first choice in the short term (18 months?) and I think there is positions we need to look at before RB, RW being a big one. If we can't manage to sign Paddy Roberts we badly need a RW that will push Forrest out of a starting berth.
I'm happy enough as well with Simunovic and Sviatchenko but I can't see Toure being here next year and hopefully Ambrose and Boyata will move on which will leave us short on numbers and experience/quality(lol) in there and remember Rodgers sees Ajer as a CB rather than a CDM.
Mackay-Steven is like McGregor for me, he is good enough for domestic games but comes up short for the CL.}

06 Jan 2017 23:13:05
I only mention rb position ed because don't get me wrong as much as I love lustig I would just like to see
a young rb in the same mould as Tierney I know a lot to ask for but I think the way Rodgers is leading this team is brilliant and we can attract a better quality of player now. and on forrest he's a poor man's mcgeady and that's me being nice Haha

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - There's been murmurings that Rodgers would like to bring in Jon Flanagan but I don't know if that's just people assuming. We still need to make a decision on or move ob Janko as well before we look at bringing in a new RB and we have Ralston in the youth team who is highly rated.}

06 Jan 2017 23:26:22
I have always have been a big fan of lustig, but I was under the impression he hadn't signed a new contract yet (I may be incorrect though! ) Gamboa though gives me the fear.

Will be interesting to see how Forrest responds to Roberts leaving tbh, may become too comfortable. Do you think we could sign paddy permanently? If so do you think he'll get more game time? I have been saying that he is much better than Forrest, but as he is only on loan, Rodgers doesn't want to rely on him.

Forgot about big Ajer at CB. Do you know if he is highly thought of at the club?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Lustig's deal has 18 months to run on it I'm sure, Kev. I was told months ago that Roberts is nowhere near being in Guardiola's plans and not been told anything different since so I don't see why we can't sign him he fancies it and more importantly IF Rodgers wants him and City don't play silly buggers over the fee which I don't think they would.}

07 Jan 2017 08:41:25
i still think we are crying out for an attacking playmaker in the lubo mould.

07 Jan 2017 09:43:00
I think Lustigs future could be at centre half! I'm happy with the two guys there but they do need cover and if we have another RB Lustig could provide that! As well as a few run outs at RB, jury is out on Gamboa! Can't see any reason why we can't get Paddy Roberts on a permanent deal! I can only assume BR is playing Forrest wide right because Roberts is only on loan! Add to that a number 10 to compete with Rogic and I would be happy! Hopefully the young lad from the Ivory Coast will provide the long term Defensive Midfielder!

would like to see a goalkeeper signed and settled in for CL campaign next season. Would love to see a deal worked out for Roberts, far better than Forrest.

Ed any further news on Eboue or when the deal is likely to be announced. Thanks in advance

{Ed007's Note - Eboue is due to fly out to Dubai but won't train with the squad until the work permit situation is sorted out. I expect a formal announcement any time over the next couple of working days.}

The level of hatred they have for us makes it easy to extend it to the wee man unfortunately. The good thing as JB67 said is that Jay won't be exposed to it. I'd like to think comments like that if the shoe was on the other foot would earn somebody a slap on the dome at Celtic Park. Some things are beyond joking about although you wouldn't know it by some of their more recent chants. Some of them really are as we say in Airdrie lower than a snakes bawz (excuse my French) 🍀

We live in a strange world where an innocent we kid gets abuse like this.

Personally id just ignore these cretins. In their tiny minds even being prosecuted for this will promote them.

Agree5 Disagree1

06 Jan 2017 17:52:18
Seriously find this hard to get my head round, I could never have enough hate towards anything to abuse a kid like that. Thankfully any Rangers fans I know would also be appalled by this, what goes on in the heads of scum like that?!

The only punishment that'll make any difference is making the eejits face the parents and educating the clowns on disability.

I've no doubt that if whoever did this is caught They'll come out with the usual guff about how they didn't know what made them do it, how sorry they are, and how if you speak to anyone who knows them they'll tell you that they are not that sort of person.
I don't know what was actually written, but if you sit with those type of thoughts, and then type them out and send it to a website, you are showing exactly what sort of person you are.
If they are caught and exposed, they will fully deserve the ridicule and scorn that will come their way.

The revulsion is shared by us also. Seeing that young land's enthusiasm and smiling face should be an inspiration to us all. This goes well beyond rivalry and the perpetrators are lower than scum. We may all have different allegiances when it comes to football but respect for others and an appreciation of the qualities they possess should always be to the fore.

Meet him and his dad nearly every couple of weeks when they fly back for the games, his dad is also one of the nicest guys you could find , talk to him about Celtic all the time and he never has a bad word to say about anyone let alone the rangers , it's all very well the the rangers fans who come on here talking about there Celtic supporting family and friends and how they disagree with all the sectarian nonsense but do they ever stand up to there fellow fans who do it .

John Stones, lakaku, Luke Shaw that's just 3 players aff the tap of ma heed who have went for mega millions in comparison to what we will get offerd for Dembele. All around the same age but because thay show potential fur wan season in an over hyped over priced league there worth mare ma arse. we sud keep the big man and tell these jokers tae git tae if thay dae put in an offer

Big Sutton tore savage a new yin the other week there about this very subject, thing is we don't need to sell and if he says injury free and keeps scoring he'll be worth more in 6 months stuff the English

Dembele scored double the amount of goals last season than Lookman has in his professional career - that's before champions league experience, French award etc - and he just went for 11m. They can start the bidding at 30.

Stones and Luiz are 2 who combined cost £100 million only problem in neither can defend at top level, unfortunately money talks and small clubs become a rich owners plaything, our league gets discredited despite plenty ex SPL plying their trade down south . Hopefully we keep investing to make Euro progress and build a young squad then get the "not for sale " signs up
