How is it that we got fined for letting off flares but fans in Spain and Italy get away with shining those green lasers in opposition player's eyes in practically every game

What has happened to Chico ?

Anyone know where he has gone ? All very quite since the 'fantastically successful' share issue - with the exception of his hilarious 'twas the night before Xmas' statement where he made himself look a right Big baby throwing te dummy out t pram. In case you have forgotten, he is a Yorkshireman with big hands to grab lots of money (I think this is exactly his plan and the sevconians can't complain when he does - he has said it often enough!).

Markiebhoy

Believable8 Unbelievable3

Chico's work is done now.Share issue done, just to plan the escape and jobs a good 'un!...........green jhedi

Agree10 Disagree4

Yeah the press/ TV is just full of nonsense stories from McCoist and McCulloch about squat all. To cover the getaway by Pinochio Glinty.

Agree4 Disagree0

Chico's in Manchester for the big divvy up with Imran Ahmed and their mate the rangers finance director guy and Craig Whyte.

I just have to say I hope the FA charge
Suarez with unsportsmanlike conduct
after his disgraceful hand ball today.
LFC should be ashamed of their team
today especially as little Mansfield
paid tribute to the 96 by leaving 96
empty seats with the dead names on
them, and this is how Liverpool repaid
that gesture. Shame LFC Timalloy {Ed001's Note - I agree up to a point, in that I don't think he did deliberately set out to handle it, more an instinctive reaction. I would have liked the players to take it on themselves to give Mansfield a goal back from the kick off anyway. It just left a bitter taste in my mouth and I lost interest in the game after that.}

Believable5 Unbelievable2

06 Jan 2013 19:33:41
Fair Play ED001, I agree about the other players trying to give Mansfield an equaliser.
But surely the time must come when honesty takes over and a player admits he handled and refuses the goal. Also today Suarez kissing his arm was rubbing salt in the wound.
Sadly, Suarez will always be known as a cheat. Timalloy {Ed001's Note - he did admit it hit his arm, but said it was accidental, he should have refused to accept the goal though. It would have done him and the game good. As for the kissing his wrist, he does that after every goal as he has the names of his kids tattooed there.}

Agree1 Disagree1

I agree Ed....I think that the way he smashed the ball into the net, Suarez ws expecting the handball to be given and like you it would have been great (especially considering the reputation that Suarez has got for himself) if he had pointed out to ref that it was handball.

Markiebhoy {Ed001's Note - I can understand, to a degree, why he wouldn't say anything, he has been refused multiple blatant pens this season. A couple of his bookings were for diving, even though he was clearly fouled. This was his chance to show he wasn't a cheat though, sadly he has just given those that hate him more of a chance to hate him. This is why I never wanted him to be bought. Trouble follows him around like a bad smell and the English press love any excuse to bad mouth a foreigner. Would the commentator have called it the actions of a cheat if it had been, for instance, Rooney had done the same thing? I very much doubt it, purely because he is English, as there is no doubting he is just as capable of diving as Suarez.}

Agree4 Disagree0

I thought it was a magnificent tribute by Mansfield, very touching.Agree with ED though, wheres the respect for other players. It might only take one player to start it..............green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree1

Totally agree Ed, exactly the point I was trying to make regarding Suarez missing the chance to 'repair' some of the damage to his image. Also totally agree that the commentator would NOT have called this cheating had it been somebody else, Suarez an easy target!

Markiebhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Haven't seen the incident, but knowing Suarez, I take it that it was an accident just like the one in the World Cup a few years back. I liked him up until that point. But now I think hes a cheating racist at best... Just sitting on the fence here...

MgC

Agree2 Disagree3

Didn't he bite another player as well? {Ed007's Note - Says it all really doesn't it? There is controversy almost every time he plays a game, LFC don't need that type of thing, they have enough problems as it is.}

Agree3 Disagree3

Suarez is on a par with El Hadj Diouf. I hate liverpool just because of him {Ed007's Note - That's as good a reason as any IMO.}

Agree2 Disagree3

He's a cracking player but not worth the hassle he brings.

Agree2 Disagree0

It wasn't deliberate. It isn't upto Suarez to ref the game. The ref deemed it to be not deliberate, so gave the goal. How many defenders would stop a game after being hit in the hand with a ball and say 'ref, that's a pen'? None. Would you have been happy if Big Fraz has said. last season, against Rangers and Hearts, 'ref, the ball crossed the line, the other team should be given the goal'. No you wouldnt. Refs job is to apply the rules. wasn't deliberate, goal should stand

If I was a player hoodwinked by McCoist in the summer to join that new sevco rangers international club on the ridiculous story of back in SPL in two seasons, I'd be leaving.
I'd be instructing my agent to get me out ASAP.
This first winter on div3 muck fields will be dire dire dire and two more years after this to top flight. A professional's career is about 12 years, to give three to sevco in amateur part time leagues is madness, even for young 18 year olds.

Believable10 Unbelievable1

If it was me i would not have touched them. But mcculloch, alexander and even shiels were probably settled in scotland and no one was interested in black. The only player i have found a puzzle is wallace, he had offers but went.might be very enlightening when chuckie publishes the accounts and the true wages become known.........green jhedi

Agree3 Disagree1

With the proposed league restructure they will be playing the predominately the same teams as this year.
DB77

Agree4 Disagree0

How is it madness? A 12yr career, players are being paid mre by a division 3 club than by mediocre spl clubs who have no hope of winning anything.

The thing that gets me is everyone bar killie said no, but they said they will only boycott certain games ? One of which will not be a old firm games that's for sure.

The more news it makes the better...we're in the papers for playing in the champions league and for transfers only way they make the news is for boycotts

In another forum someone has did a
wee chart of just how many red cards
referees have given to teams playing
Sevco in div 3 or in the cups.
NINE players (yes 9) have been shown
against the wee teams. Then when you
factor in the penalties and disallowed
goals, it seems the "honest mistakes"
have resurfaced in the lower leagues.
So in 19 league games so far, and 5
cup games refs have sent off NINE
opposition players in 24 games, almost
one in three average. Poor Sally and
his team must be struggling with so
little help from the refs. Timalloy

Believable9 Unbelievable1

I am bemused as to why SFL Div 3 managers have been so quiet regarding the obvious cheating they are subjected to?
'The Rangers' dictate which 'grade' referee takes their games and the amount of red cards in their favour mentioned is way out of proportion for any other team ANYWHERE.
The Shame have no shame whatever they call themselves.

Oh my, major, major deflection tactics over Govan way.

A full statement on their website in repsonse to Celtic Hogmanay's New Item which Rangers have failed to mention is entitled 'The Story behind 2012'

Their mock outrage is in respone to the paragraph with the title 'April' and one sentence:-

'Celtic followed that up with consecutive 3-0 victories - against Motherwell at Fir Park and in the last ever derby against Rangers at Paradise'

www.celticfc.net/newsstory?item=3518

Ally your are still a rubbish Manager and Charlie York, you were still hunted out of The Blades.

Mrs E

Believable8 Unbelievable0

That must be the biggest load of crap I've ever read.....

'a new era continues to gather momentum at an exciting rate'

'I think the last 6 months in particular has proved Rangers dont need Celtic'

'The light blues have risen from their knees and are on course to get back to their rightfull position at the top of the pile'

'We'll see how their fans react the next time the light blues play their team and beats it'

How delusional can 1 guy be?

The Scottish Football League and the Scottish Premier League are close to finalising a compromise agreement between their respective reconstruction plans.

The deal is likely to lead to the four current divisions being rearranged into a 12-12-18 set-up, with a fairer distribution of the money generated by the top clubs.

Details of the agreement have still to be sealed, but it will also lead to the two league bodies merging into one, which is likely to be called the Scottish Professional Football League.

1. A fairer distribution of money - what does this mean exactly ?

2. Why no fan input ?

3. If this is implimented in time for next season, it will mean the results of SFL3 are meaningless ?

4. Why is Campbell Ogilive still in office when he owes RFC over £90k in an unpaid loan & his position is compromised ?

5. Will there be play-off's, how will they work ?

6. What are the clear benefits of this system ?

7. Hearing rumours of a 2 x 12 team Austrian model league with an 8/8/8 split which nearly destroyed Austrian football

8. If 2 teams are promoted from the 1st div, will they be prepared for the top division to compete at that level. Seated stadiums etc

I could go on & on.

Out game needs CASH, MONEY, FINANCE & serious investment at grassroot level will this reconstruction bring that..I don't think so.

Mrs E

Believable4 Unbelievable0

It all seems short on detail for me Mrs E.As usual it's a knee jerk reaction to a problem decided by committee. If they are really serious about affecting change they need to start with the hierarchy, merge the SPL/SFA and SFL to form Football Scotland. This, of course, will never happen as the "blazeratti" are too used to a world of free first class travel and unquestioned expenses. There should be a two year consultation and implementation period, with fans at the forefront, and administrators ELECTED BY FANS.The new system, in year three, should be ready to be put into practice. You could actually do this in one year, implemented in year two, but it will take a year to rid ourselves of the hangers on who contribute nothing to the game...............green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

I've said it before, fairer distribution of money means successful, profitable and well managed teams like Celtic being forced to subsidise the grotesque beer belly chairmen in the SFL and their badly managed failing clubs. The first thing these incompetents will do is give themselves a pay rise with any additional money.
Another knock on effect will be referees managing who gets promoted and demoted in this 3 div setup with their honest mistakes.
A single governing body means a rangers hand in glove organisation. It was because we had an SFA, SPL and SFL that oldco and newco nearly got the rules applied fairly. But still there was rule breaking to go easy.

Agree2 Disagree0

GJ, I think a clear out is needed at Hampden and to be fair to Rangers, there was no leadership shown in the Summer whatsoever.

This new set-up is as clear as mud & as the 2nd poster said, would it be clubs like Celtic doing the subsidising ? Mrs E

Agree2 Disagree0

Does anyone else think that the biggest problem in Scottish football is the cost ?
All we ever hear is restructure the no of teams in the league to try and make it more appealing to the fans - I feel that the biggest problem is the cost of tickets, this is the main reason our friends from the other side of the city have 40k plus each week....it's only £15 to get in! If it was the same at CP it would be full to the rafters every week.

Markiebhoy

Agree2 Disagree0

Their season ticket prices and matchday ticket prices will rise and quite possibly overtake Celtic prices in the next few years, that is a certain.

When Celtic's new stadium was complete, season ticket sales were over 53,000 and the average attendance 59, 224.

I think a lot of Scottish fans look to German football but we cannot compete with that or their matchday prices. German clubs reward their fans and recognise the huge significance of games being played in front of large crowds. But their ticket prices are low because they can afford them to be.

Their reliance on gate revenues is nowhere near as necessary as it is for Scottish clubs because they annually take in tens of millions by aggressively pursuing major commercial deals.

They have a population of 82 million. Scotland has 5 million.

Cheaper ticket prices are not going to happen...

Mrs E

Agree2 Disagree0

SFA -where do they stand on old co/newco same club issue ?

Going by the letter of their own laws regarding the Scottish Cup, they clearly see The Rangers as a new CLUB (no mention of company!)

Rule 8 states that CLUBS who were, in the previous season, members of the SPL (which old co were) are not required to participate in Rd 3 !

Rd3 Rangers v Alloa ....

Enough said

Believable8 Unbelievable0

What they fail to see is that FIFA regard them as a new club on their website. I was talking to a guy, a The rangers supporter, this morning who has this worry. It would appear that they can get away with the badge, strip and playing at ibrox while the liquidation is on-going. When BDO conclude the liquidation all this will have to change, i assume ibrox will be exempt as green bought it, but this guy reckons green knows this will cause chaos and will be off before it hits the fan.He also claims this is what brown was going on about and remember this liquidation could take years.I personally dont know this bloke, my mate does and we chat while walking the dogs but it does seem feasible...........green jhedi

Agree5 Disagree1

My take on the day the name change was made was that green new his new club couldnt use the name so the real rangers changed its name to 2012 and withdrew it from company house leaving the name rangers open to anyone so green could register his new club it was all hush hush because anyone could have registered a company in that name if they where fast enough and the media wont mention it because it would prove its not the same club ...

Agree0 Disagree0

There is absolutely no reason why BDO cannot interpret the law and make immediate no brainer decisions on branding logos, crests, colours, club name...... These should not be used under insolvency law.
There's no viable reason this cannot be immediately ruled illegal. No need to await the end of liquidation process.

Does Campbell Ogilvie get the push out of the SFA presidency this year?
Surely Lord John Reid would be an outstanding fit?

Believable8 Unbelievable2

Like thats gonna happen!.........green jhedi

Agree2 Disagree1

Having listened to both of them. Lord Reid is about 100 times more competent than Ogilvie tried to be. Lord Reid is a guy who has held four of the UKs highest offices of state. Ogilvie is tarnished with the Rangers offshore payments tax evasion scandal.
The Scottish Goverment pays for Hampden and should politically shoehorn Reid into the role, he'd sort it out and clear out the deadwood.
