The old firm, their always just ducking & diving eh

Lenny

Ps about refs, I knew a guy who was a ref at a youth game only him no lines men & it was a corner to one team the keeper saved it & booted it up the park for the keeper to 'score' it but one half said it went in & the other said it never. He got a 10 points took off him & hammered because he couldn't give the goal. Yet our spl refs miss stone wallers etc. also remember reading a few years back that in italy they practiced diving lol

Lenny

Totally believe the Italy part. The main reason I stopped watching the live games on Channel 4, they spent more time on the deck than Frank Bruno.

Agree0 Disagree0

Did it put u pdc watching Petrov? Biggest diver ever to grace Scottish football

Agree3 Disagree0

I would say naismith is the biggest diver

Evening Ed, just on for a short time as going to watch Chelsea hopefully get put out of Champions League.
Just wanted to say in all the Aluko posts, nobody has mentioned part referee played in this. Everybody knew it was a dive at time, yet he could not wait to give penalty. The referee (forget his name) should be pulled up also over this. What are everyone else's thoughts on referee being banned also? Neil T {Ed007's Note - I think the standard of refereeing in Scotland in general is terrible. I blame them more than the players.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

ED I agree, even in England referees are poor. Speaking of England, I watched Liverpool game last night and Carrol was again poor. Him and Torres cost over £70m between them yet neither could hit a barn door just now. We moan about Sammy but he only cost Celtic £2m and at least you get a turn from him now and then. Carrol in particular just seems the perfect image of modern footballer, only interested in big wages and out drinking and partying, no sense of loyalty to fans who pay his wages. Neil T {Ed007's Note - Carroll has curbed his lifestyle since he moved to LFC but he will never justify that transfer fee. LFC wouldn't sell Torres unless they got Carroll, and as Chelsea were desperate for Torres it was basically Chelsea that bought Carroll for LFC and gave them £15 million for Torres.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Neil t I never new it wasn't a penalty until I seen it on tv. I sit in the Copeland road stand. Jim McIntyre never new it wasn't a penalty until he seen a replay of it. Obviously if i watched it on tv the same as you did and seen replays well I would say what you just said. I think you will know by reading posts that Ed mentioned about the Refs.

It would appear that Rangers football club condone cheating , they are set to take on the SFA over the proposed ban for Sone Aluko after his BLATANT dive on Saturday , how can you defend cheating as blatant as that , that said Rangers have always been used to getting penalties for nothing , so they are bound to take it ill out when pulled up for it .

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Rangers don't condone cheating. The way I see it is if Brown says one of his players dive then he gets away with it why can't Rangers do the same? I can't recall anyone kick up a big fuss when O'Conner got found guilty of diving. Did you have your tongue planted against cheek when you posted about Rangers get penaltys for nothing? Aye it was a bummmmm cheeeeek lol.

Agree1 Disagree0

If they dont condone cheating then they would not embarass themselves trying to defend Aluko , paint it any way you want , but it is BLATANT cheating F .

Hay ed I was thinking of different songs to be played for each player from the team as they score like the magnificent seven was played for Larson. For abit of Craic here are my few songs. For hooper it would be the superman tune because hooperman. The boys are back in town for stokesy because thin lizzy was from Dublin too. Maybe for big Dan abba. Lol and for Big Sammy it could be greece lighting lol and for ki and cha maybe Kung Fu fighting or would that be abit racists? Lol Am just have abit of Craic. Anymore ideas bhoys and girls? Bigirishmac.

Believable2 Unbelievable4

Think if Big Dan or Loovens score it should be Toca's Miracle ~ Mrs E

I'll try & think of more in my busy day at work :)

Agree1 Disagree0

Kung Fu fighting for Cha and Ki is class lol

Surely it should be the benny hill music for Masto and Loovens. The "im a lumberjack" song from monty python, for Forster, cant believe no one has said "dude looks like a lady" for Sammy! or even that Rihanna classic "wanyama..wots my name, wots my name"

Germinator

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with OP. Would definitely offer something different to the atmosphere.

To start with I'd go with some of the original songs that have been adapted for the players.

The Nah Nah Nah song for Stokes.

Triumphant March for Wanyama (obviously only the Victor Wan----yama bit).

I reckon the players would appreciate this kind of thing as it would get the fans all singing (not that they don't anyway).

Kung Fu Fighting (as it has an Asian twang to it) would be good but not sure they themselves would appreciate it given that Kung Fu is a Chinese derived martial art.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha...Germ, i've actually heard folk singing that "Wanyama...what's my name" ~ Mrs E

Agree0 Disagree0

! I love this idea! We should get a petition going!

once again the scottish gutter press trying to tarnish the name of our club the following is from the official celtic fc website
Celtic Football Club statement
By: Newsroom Staff on 06 Dec, 2011 10:20

IT has been reported today by a number of news organisations that Celtic has been ‘cleared’ or has ‘escaped punishment’ for ‘sectarian chanting’.

While the Club accepts that the SPL had looked at an issue concerning unacceptable conduct, at no time has Celtic been investigated by the SPL or any other body for sectarian chanting.

Clearly, it is important that this matter is clarified. Celtic will be contacting the organisations in question to ensure that such reporting is corrected.

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Still sang the songs, if they never sang them there would be no story in the paper. I think the message is finally starting to get through to the minority of fans on both sides. You will always get the odd idiot but.

Billyboy1

Agree2 Disagree4

Were you there billyboy to tell us what songs they were signing or are you gullable and believe everything you read in the press no one is saying there were no unacceptable songs being sung the statement on the official celtic site states that at no time were we under investigation only the biased scottish media fabricated more lies against cfc

Agree2 Disagree1

You contradict yourself there do you not nameless poster? You said was I there to hear the songs and do I believe everything I read then you go on to say there were unacceptable songs being sung you numpty. I never said there was an investigation against Celtic did I? All I said was if they never sang the songs there would be no story in the paper in the first place. Read the post first and allow yourself 5 mins to digest the information before sending a stupid post back.
