Use our rumours form to send us celtic transfer rumours.

05 May 2019 21:33:01
So IF and I do say IF: Jose is our new a few concerns.

1) Transfer Budget. Just how much would he be looking for?

2) Style of play. Over the last few years he has regressed from attacking play, to a more defensive style.
That in itself would be a concern.

Now I think we all know JM would attract aa few BIG names but that comes witgh Bigger wages.
We do NOT have the EPL money to maintain that, however if we get into the CL group stages,
we would then be in a VERY strong position to get to 10 in a row.

ATM im doubtful if we can get JM. but what a capture that would be.

JM does not need the money.
He needs the CHALLENGE, and that is where would fit the bill.

Congarts to Celtic on 8 in a row .

God Bless the LISBON LIONS

HH.

peterboy. Mourinho tends to buy players who are the finished article he doesn't tend to work with projects for the future.
He operates the exact opposite way in which Celtic do, so I can't see these rumours being anything other than fantasy.

People are actually swallowing this BS?

Agree0 Disagree0

06 May 2019 07:34:19
Only reason Mourinho will end up at Celtic is if he gets no other offer from France, Spain, Italy, Germany, England etc. Let’s be honest, the way we have to work in Scotland and the finances we deal in that would be a foreign concept to Mourinho. He’s used to dealing in the big boys market whereas we deal in projects. Would Mourinho be even slightly interested in that? Can’t see it myself. Hypothetically however a manager of his Calibre could attract a level of player that would leave the rest of the teams in Scotland shaking in their boots. Would be hilarious just to see the reaction from the other side if this did end up being true 😂😂.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 May 2019 10:52:59
Mourinho is coming! He's bringing in Pogba, Suarez, Cahill and De Bruyne with loan options on Messi and Ronaldo.
That's how much BS this story is.

This is a time to rejoice and be glad, when Celic won their 9 in a row in the 60's and 70's those us who wear with Celtic the whole way from 1 to 9 appreciated every title as we had been through a lean period before .
It was a glorious time to be a Celtic supporter as Scotland had produced probably the last great group of Scottish players . Most of the top English teams had many Scottish born players, but many more chose to not become Anglos and there was a super group of Sccottish players at 6 and moe Scottish team.
But having won 8 in a row, in an honest way and with no cheating, it's time to give credit where credit is due to the Managers
N L, R D, to the self acclaimed great one
B R and N L again . To the players some like Brown and Forrest with us for the 8 and so many who have contributed many seasons to our quest . To the Board who kept us moving along, some may feel they have kept too tight a hold on purse strings . Lastly, but most important us, our supporters, enjoy what we have achieved, urge and encourage, Board, Manager and players to new heights &? to wrestle another two SPLs, Don't let the English sneer at our 8 in a row, imagine their media wetting themselves if one of their £ filled clubs could manage anything like what we have done.
I have to add that nobody can blame our Referees for our success. Every season as we won another title the referees took it on themselves to never let it happen again.
The MSSM are also working overtime to stop us with the negative Celtic stories balanced by positive Rangers2012 fiction
Next two seasons we will all work together to be stronger and we will overcome whatever hurdles whoever throws at us.

Chris. How do you explain the 9 red cards sevco have had this season if the referees are on a mission to stop Celtic winning the title? .

Agree0 Disagree0

05 May 2019 20:26:15
Cos it should be closer to double that gerry. Morelos escaped more than a couple so has mcgregor.

Agree1 Disagree0

05 May 2019 20:49:44
Also the incredible amount of penalties awarded is breathtaking blatant favoritism!

Agree0 Disagree0

05 May 2019 21:03:17
I think winning the treble treble would be a bigger achievent than winning the 8,in a row, the one off cup games, where one slip up, one misplaced pass, one bad day, and you lose, you're out, to get thru them and win, takes some concentration, some application, .
Whatever you say about Brendan, and I know he went from Saint to sinner, in the twinkling of an eye, the "invincibles", will take some equalling.

Agree1 Disagree0

05 May 2019 21:20:38
Gerry c. How do you explain the 6 or 7 more moreles alone should have had or the 2 more assaults the McGregor got away it?

Agree0 Disagree0

05 May 2019 22:18:33
Kev83. I'm not saying they haven't benefited from some decisions over the season but if you are being totally honest can you say that we haven't benefited from some also?
I think the standard of refereeing in Scotland is poor, but I reckon that if there was a real campaign to stop us winning titles it would have succeeded by now.

Agree1 Disagree0

05 May 2019 22:54:30
The amount of penalties alone is proof of their corruption and for every red card awarded there was another ignored over the season.
Cheatin Beaton was so embarrassingly biased at Ibrox in December, he was not allocated another Celtic game until May the fourth.
Invariably however, I would say referees influence more of their games than ours and don't get me started on the random fixture list that saw us finish both halves of the season with three games at Hibernian, Aberdeen and Sevco, while they got 3 straight home games.
Obviously we won the league on merit, determination and ability, but as OMC says, there are outside influences trying to undermine us.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 May 2019 23:03:43
The more they cheat us, the sweeter the victories become. Can’t wait to be applauded onto the pitch next week.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 May 2019 23:20:53
just wait until next weekend then come back and say we get a fair crack with this lot of cheating refs.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 May 2019 11:04:56
I believe the key to us winning 10 in a row is the decisions taken by our board. The mess they made of things at the start of the season did more to hinder us than any refereeing decision.
If we get the right manager and invest properly in the team we would be so far ahead of the rest that no referees could stop us.
The fact that some folk are worried about refereeing decisions just shows that we aren't as far ahead of the rest as we should be considering our financial clout.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 May 2019 12:46:13
Not worried about them but its so obvious, it needs to be challenged by celtic in the name of fair play.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 May 2019 13:30:32
Gerryc I have difficulty accounting for the 9 red cards Rangers2012.players have received . My difficulty is how Rangers2012 kept the total to under 20 .
I let you think over the 3 games between us and them that have been played this season& no doubt you remember that although Rangers2012.received some reds the amount was a mere token of the number they deserved
The number of red cards Rangers2012 players have actually received has come about by referees letting Rangers players off with over aggressive tackles early in the game, these players are encouraged by the apparent leniency of refs and think they can get away with anything . The referee's patience sometimes snaps and he does the unexpected and red cards a Rangers2012 player,
This has caused problems with Rangers2012 who have banned one of their former favourite ref . W Collum from having anything to do with Rangers games .

Agree0 Disagree0

06 May 2019 18:38:31
Wouldn't be surprised if they have Collum ref Sevco's last game at Killie.
They can't win the league and 2nd spot guaranteed, so good game to throw him back in.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2019 00:44:47
RJ10 I don't think there is a chance, Rangers have been particularly lenient to Collum . The last referee that they thought gave a major decision against them was in 1969 when Jim Callaghan didn't send big John Hughes off after Hughes had deliberately kneed Willie Johnston in an area between were his legs met.

I was within 15 yards of it in the front of the jungle. Hughes had been booked in first half and it seemed the ref was going to send Hughes off but linesman interceded and told ref Johnston was taunting Hughes sticking out chin daring him to hit him . Ref didn't send Hughes off and despite Hughes was a top International referee, he never refereed another Senior match in his life .
So compared to Mr Jim Callaghan, Collum has got off lightly.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2019 22:38:42
gerryc, it is only now that we are becoming a real danger. for next season and if we win it again they will definitely destroy us. They will award penalties instead of throw ins if that's what it takes. HH.

With all that's happened these last 2 weeks with the deaths of McNeill and Chalmers you can't help but admire the bond these great gents had during their playing careers and long after where they remained friends till the end.

I look at the squad now and see similar relationships within the team and a good young team to build a great future from. There will no doubt be huge bids for our young stars but maybe, just maybe, the likes of McGregor, KT, Forrest etc are not swayed by money or the over hyped EPL. We have something that is more than money, a place where they will be loved, treated like legends for the rest of their lives and a chance to win trophies for the club they adore. It ain't like we pay pennies either one season at Celtic sets these young lads up for life. I hope they all see the bigger picture and the honour it is they are blessed with being able to pull on that famous shirt.

We now go for 9 and hopefully 10. This is a great insentative to not only keep our players but attract new players to make history. There is no way on earth the Board are going to let this opportunity pass now that it's within touching distance. I think we are in for a good summer.

James Hunt of the Year: Brendan Rodgers.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It's a sham that Kent Hastie Turnbul and Fergusonare are nominees for Scotlands young player of the year. Ajer and Edouard are far superior compared to the others. Kents 22 so why is he in the young category?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - The voting's actually done around Christmas & New Year time when Ajer was just starting to get a run in the team. The cut-off for the YPOTY is 23 at the start of the present season, Raheem Sterling is 24 now and won the English version.}

Davie Provan is still slaughtering Brown over standards. He's never got a good word to say about celtic I wonder why? Anyone no the reason? Then we have SG slating Scottish Football saying it's worse than he thought it would be. Then says "I'm not criticising Scottish Football"😂😂Not 1 reporter picks up on the rubbish he comes out with and they always give him an easy time . Time to carry on The Celebrations. These all inclusive holidays are a Danger to the liver! 🍀.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

05 May 2019 16:23:05
Davie Provan is right when he says you can't compare the present 8 in a row with Jock Steins 9 in row, even if the 8 becomes a 9,or a 10,without doing well in Europe, these runs are meaningless, like Provan says, in the sixties and seventies, Celtic, Rangers, Dundee, Kilmarnock, and Dunfermline, all reached semifinals in Europe, with Celtic and Rangers reaching finals, Hearts and Hibs had decent teams aswell,8,9,10 in a row these days just shows how poor the Scottish League is.

I'd like us to put out a second 'string' for the last 2 SPL games to rest our top stars before the Cup final, as a necessary precaution.
We have nothing else to prove to any league opponent and it would be a fitting reply for the lack of respect and protection we have endured all season from the 'honest mistake' merchants, the snipers, detractors and another excuse for sad Sevco Steve to have a greet.

If we rest too many players for 3 weeks before final hey may have lost their competitive edge . I don't think we have lost anyone through game time injury in thickest couple of weeks .
Players can get injured in training, so I see no reason for not playing our best players in both games unless they are carrying injuries.

Agree1 Disagree0

05 May 2019 18:39:20
Yes I agree, I think we should leave out our important players and rest them over next two games before cup final.
What about
De Vries

Toljan
Biton
Benkovic
Izaguirre

Ntcham

Burke
Henderson
Rogic
Hayes

Weah

Then again, try telling Broony he's no playing, but I think he will be target no 1 in next two games.

GR EIGHT to be Champions again, well done the whole team and management set up, Lennon and Rodgers who began it.
I am already looking forward to NEXT season as the whole club will be more settled (Lennon hinted at "agitation and discontent" in dressing room) the players and club move on.
I am certain the Board will have learned their lessons over last year's non transfer window signings, fans won't let Lawwell away with it this time. We also now know that Rodgers was wanting away which caused problems in dressing room. Then surely our injury situation cannot be as bad as this season, get new players in and get our important players fully fit like Tierney, Christie, Rogic etc.
Yes a more settled team and manager next season will hopefully propel us to a quadruple treble and Champions League final, well I can dream can't I lol.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

05 May 2019 17:54:11
How do we get Rogic fit? After all the time he has been with us, I doubt if he was ever fully fit . His peak fitness is far below his fellow players . Hopefully we can get
LG fit and scoring goals. A fully fit LG would give us different attacking skills than we currently have.

Great to see us get over the line with a bit of style after the last few weeks. Lustigs diving header was a peach he deserved that and big Jozo is starting to look like the player I hoped he would be. Bains been a fantastic signing as well. Congratulations and a big thank you to Neil Lennon. I'd play the young laddies against the resurrected Rangers and the Jambos. It would be fantastic to see us do the Rebel Treble on the 25th of May particularly given our two sad losses this week. Once again well done to Neil Lennon he did what he was asked to do.

I've never understood those SLY-backed fannies who are too quick to bad-mouth the club that made them and paid them while they took the fans plaudits, the medals and the glory?

Well done to the everyone at the club for winning our 50th league title especially the players. The full squad have been stretched this season and to be one game away from another treble is remarkable. Our discipline has been a big factor in our success over the last 3 years. A great group of players.
Its hard to seperate McGregor and Forrest for player of the year. It was down to Calmac how our season got started back in October when he took the team by the scruff of the neck and took us to another level.
James goals and assists have helped us win the league again, he scored quite a few important goals especially away from home.
A special mention to my young player of the year Kris Ajar, a future Celtic captain, he has came in and performed like an experienced professional, his statistics along with Bain have been amazing.
3 more big matches and hopefully a treble treble and then we see what the summer brings. HH.

Does anyone else think that Luznig has been playing out of his skin recently. Do you think he is trying this hard so he can get a new contract and do you therefore think should he get one. His celebration of his goal was clearly aimed at the stand either the directors or supportors.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

05 May 2019 10:04:19
I think regardless of him extending we need to be looking to get his long term replacement in now. The nucleus of the team is now very young and we need to look to the future. He has been a great servant to the club but do we hand out new contracts based on what players have done in the past or recently or do we continue to move forward. It's a position that needs filled for the next 3 to 4 years so let's go out and get someone in. No issues with Lustig extending for a year and being back up for RB and CB if needed though.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 May 2019 10:09:19
Also not sure if Lustig is the type of guy to be making gestures to Lawwell. Celtic have made him very wealthy from his time in Scotland and if he was to leave i think it would be on good terms. He will always be a Tim and welcome at CP.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 May 2019 13:19:34
There's no doubting he has played better under Lenny but what about the rest of the season, In Europe he was beaten for pace and nearly every pass was to an opposing player. Love the man and as i said a great servant to the club but let's not let sentiment get in the way here we need to look to the future now and get a younger better player in. Doubt we will get the player from Atalanta as AC Milan are in for him but that's the type of player we should be looking at. RB is as important as having a great striker or Keeper and we should be looking to bring in the best available.
