If anyone out there is wondering just how good a season we have had in Europe, we may be out tomorrow night but, we have been in the cup as long as Man Utd, and longer than Man City, the top two in England.

Hello. A friend of mine wrote this and sent it to me as he didn't post it on its intended destination but I thought it was worth sharing as it is a very good analogy IMO so thought I would share with you lot.

Well what a month the month of love was. The 2 highlights for me were as follows the Alex Thomson's revelations about James Traynor and the outcome of the Lord Nimmo Smith Commission.
First the James Traynor revelations. It should not have come as a surprise when he was appointed Director of Communications at Ibrox as he fulfilled that role for many a year unofficially. But I want you to think back to the end of April last year when Bill Miller was announced as preferred bidder by Duff and Phelps as within a week the Daily Record had an exclusive.
A rather interesting exclusive which you can re-read here - http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/rangers-bid-millionaire-bill-miller-877154
This is the first time that anyone linked with being the owner of Ibrox was written about in a negative light. David Murray, Craig Whyte and Charles Green were given lashings of praise and heralded as the new messiah.
But Bill Miller was scandalised. When James Traynor was appointed at Rangers it made me wonder was there a hidden hand in getting this bad press out, to murky the waters of the bidding process and dissuade Bill Miller from fulfilling his goal.
Then when Alex Thomson's revelations about James Traynor actually seeking copy approval from Craig Whyte (and assuming he did the same with Duff & Phelps and with Charles Green also), it really made me wonder about the Daily Record and scandalising a potential owner of Ibrox.
I don't think it's a conspiracy, but it does make you go hmmmm.

Second the Lord Nimmo Smith Commission. A rather interesting turn of events is too put it mildly. I am not going to argue or attempt to second guess a Law Lord, but his findings for me declare that the SFA was asleep at the wheel over the 11 year period of the inquiry and had no recourse in the rules to prevent it from happening in the first place.
This tells me what we already know, the SFA is completely and utterly not fit for purpose.
They have cheated all fans of all clubs. Had the SFA been competent and professional, Rangers would never have been allowed to register players with Tax schemes that are currently subject to an on-going tax tribunal and its subsequent appeals. Had the SFA been fit for purpose sporting integrity would never be questioned and Rangers would never have been liquidated.
The SFA strike me as glorified bowling club. And the worst sort where it's all decided by committees and the people on the committees have no clout, no professionalism, no leadership and no intelligence.
This is the same SFA that appointed George Peat to be its President, a man who was chairmen of Airdrieonians the club that went bust and liquidated. Yes the SFA appointed that man!
What kind of farcical entity appoints a chairmen of a club that went bust to be the president?
Is it any wonder the SFA is a mess?
Just to sum up the SFA's bowling committee mentality - James Farry sacked for interfering with the Jorge Cadete transfer. Alexander Bryson head of registration gets to keep his job over this farce. George Peat appointed SFA President. Gordon Smith appointed SFA CEO. Campbell Ogilvie appointed SFA President after Peat, the same Ogilvie who was a director of Rangers when they implemented the Tax scheme and withheld player payment information from the same SFA.
Just to recap, the last 2 SFA Presidents have now held directorships of Football Clubs that have been liquidated. This is incompetence and at a staggering level. And it gets worse. The SFA is not answerable to anyone but themselves. Now that is a bowling committee if ever there was one.
However I will leave you with one bit of optimism, you would think the Scottish Football Authorities would have learned their lesson given how all fans thwarted them last summer. Well we haven't gone away and as we pay their wages they are in for one hell of a fight.
The bowling club committee that masquerades as the SFA should remember the immortal words of Jock Stein - Football is nothing without the fans.

Lets be clear, Nimmo Smith is saying failure to disclose EBT documentation at player Registration did not provide sporting advantage.

He is not saying operating the EBTs over 11 years saving £47m didn't give sporting advantage. He's not saying that at all. It's a subtle but very critical difference that people need to understand.

This post may surprise some but after us all complaining about the songsheet among Rangers fans, well done to Green for coming out in the press (well daily Telegraph) and saying he will ban for life any fan singing those songs.
Also the approach for Daly who comes from Republic times are changing down Govan way.
Yes I know Green will have his own motives for making these moves, but it IS a step in the right direction. Timalloy

We have speculated on the media's push to help the The rangers since the LNS report. The written and broadcast press seem determined to push the reconstruction plans to one side for the benefit of one club, can you guess who?

In the Evening Times there is an article, written by a Matthew Lindsay, which seems to promote the idea that we should be doing more to help the The rangers. Aided and abetted by yet another bean counter, hot on the heels of Neil Patey on Clyde, the article falls just short of fully endorsing the The rangers receiving special treatment.

"Being FORCED to play in the bottom tier again next season due to league reconstruction could have financial repercussions for The rangers" Now i'm sure chuckies business plan, submitted and approved by the SFA, would have been based on back to back promotions, which given the money he spent is fair enough I suppose. Not a mention of the fact that the time scale does not alter. His business plan would not be affected. Unless of course he thinks the season book uptake might slow down.

David Glen, the latest finance expert to show his hand, claims "Looking at their finances they should be able to keep things going thanks to their season book money" So why the worry? we are assured that the fans are enjoying the "journey", the time scale has not altered so what's the problem? "the deals coming through now will also give them a boost in the second half of the season" Again money in, what's the problem? He then, for me, gives the game away.

This is wonderful. "They will probably have enough to see them through. But if they have a hiccup along the way I think some of that £21m will be used for the running of the club" Please read that again. So green MIGHT have to use money in the bank to cover any fiscal problems his club MIGHT encounter. I'm sorry, but what was the money raised for if not to help the club? Is this not what we all do? Save money in case a problem arises in the future? And this is a "financial expert" for gods sake!

So we should make it appear they are climbing up the leagues quicker in case they need to use money in the bank. Not a word about the ludicrous wages they are paying, playing and coaching staff. Or the huge bonus the directors are in line for. Just a worry that they "might" have to dip into their savings! The cold hard facts are chuckie has realised the money on offer up here. As CEO it is up to him to cost cut, like any other company, to deal with a harsh economic climate. He also knows season books will be very hard to shift if they are trailing in our slipstream in the SPL. My guess? He was looking to keep this cash in the bank, gathering interest, till promotion to the SPL for a big transfer splurge. Some things rotten in the state of Rangersnia, but the truth will never out with press like this. green jhedi

Ed, not a Celtic rumour but a story doing the rounds at work that the zombies are keeping an eye on the Hearts situation regarding a possible Airdrie / Clydebank scenerio?Surely this can't be allowed to happen?

The appointment of LNS commission by SPL board was an administrative error and needs to be scratched. The SPL is now conflicted at appeal stage, where an appeal is mandatory considering the situation. Or the SPL MUST BRING FRESH CHARGES.

The LNS Commission was done all wrong.
The commission should have been appointed by SFA with SPLBoard versus RFC.

The appellant body for either party should have been CAS or Court of Session.

SPL Board cannot think of LNS as their commission wrt appeal or the whole system if flawed and wrong.

I don't believe there's anything wrong with the SPL and we should keep the status quo. The league is at its optimum numbers no more no less.

SFL Longmuir and his cronies shouldn't have a say in the top league.

The SPL works. All that's being proposed is more money flows down to lower divisions. Keep our money and stay as we are. This three eights is a disaster awaiting.

Perhaps two relegations and two promotions is all that is needed, keeping the same financial structure with parachutes.

Ed, a midfielder i'd love to see in Hoops is Mile Jedinak. Quality player, and would be ripe for the picking if Palace don't go up. Apparently there is interest from Bolton. Imagine that, two Aussies in our midfield! We might have to start up a sponsorship with Victoria Bitter! (But defo not Fosters)

Melb Bhoy {Ed013's Note - He is a defensive midfielder and would do a really good job for Celtic. He is thought highly of at Palace and is a regular in the International team and I believe Stoke showed some interest in January. He has another year left on his contract at the end of this season and would command a transfer fee. Would he go down well with the fans after Rangers chased him a while ago?}

Stephen Thompson saying SPL won't appeal LNS. Utterly fking shocking. i'm never putting another penny into Scottish football.
Doncaster getting 15% wage raise, shameful.

About five Pinochio press releases since their bad news accounts yesterday from Rangers. Jabba been doing his homework. Problem is these accounts don't square with ticket sales to stock exchange or share offer prospectus.

Ed, don't get to watch too much of the Championship, but having a quick look at stats it seems Tom Ince is up there with goals scored and goal assists. What is he worth and do you thnk he'd do well in our midfield? Not the tallest player but seems to be having a decent year.

Melb Bhoy {Ed001's Note - Blackpool rejected offers in the region of £6.5m in January. He will be entering the final year of his contract, so that might make £6.5m suddenly seem like enough to buy him. The issue is whether he feels it would be the right move for him, more than the cost. He would want guaranteed first team football, that is his priority, playing regularly. It must be said, Blackpool could well go down this season, their form is terrible and they are dropping like a stone, so he might fancy a move north of the border to get Champions League football under his belt. Hard to say, I know playing time is his priority, he left Liverpool because he had no chance of getting any, he was not even first choice in the reserves at the time. Since then, his game has come on in leaps and bounds, though he still makes a lot of wrong choices, experience and good coaching can fix that though. He would certainly be good enough for the SPL, the question is whether he can continue to raise his game to be good enough for European footie.}
