Maybe just being a little cynicle. Here. But just maybe Compper Arzani and Scott Allan weren't signed by Brendan Rodgers.

I don't even think Ronny Deila signed Scott Allan?

leaving them out of the squad for the Europa league well it's Brendans choice he is without doubt the Papal Bull at Celtic Park.

7he never signed dembele either.

He did BR was reason he signed.

Surprised arzani isn't in the EL squad.

Not saying we need him but why sign him then? Maybe it's a fitness / settling in thing just hope this isn't a musonda mark 2, wouldn't look great for our reputation if another loanee isn't getting much game time.

My Bro who lives in Oz says he is mostly hype so don't expect much in first 6 months.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Sep 2018 07:18:58
Though dembele was scouted and Celtic were trying to sign him the player himself said he signed after a meeting with Rogers that had sold him on the move
Rogers said it be a few months before Arzani was ready
The big Germain is at least 5th choice even when fit so is just not needed.

Most surprising omission was Bitton for me. Unless he won’t be fit for another couple of months.

That’s what I read too kev.

In attacking midfield we have:

Forrest, McGregor, Sinclair, Rogic, Morgan, Christie and Johnston. Which means no space for Arzani at the minute.

At centre back we have:

Boyata, Ajer, Simunovic, Hendry and Benkovic. So no space for Commper.

Our squad is way to big at the minute and we need to shift some bodies before bringing more in. The only position that does not apply to is Striker as we only have 2 strikers in the squad and we really need 3.

McGregor kicks a player - cleared.
Morelos kicks a player - cleared.
Jack kicks a player - cleared.
Neil Lennon pretends to be a plane - 3 game ban!
You couldn't make it up, could you?

The integrity of the SFA is in question I think its clear that the structure that is in place to deal with such matters is far from being unbiased towards a certain team can't continue and it's up to the other clubs in the League to sort it out before a player gets seriously hurt or cause croud trouble at a ground. It's not just Celtic players that have been at the brunt of a incident by one of there players and the process in place has cleared all.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Sep 2018 22:18:39
It's been that way since I can remember and the difficulty is always trying to find enough clubs to form a majority because of sympathies and allegiances in one way or another - if you know what I mean?

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Sep 2018 23:02:40
Tony2bhoy. The problem with SFA is that it doesn't have any integrity and it knows it doesn't have any . It no longer makes any pretence of wanting to be seen as acting in a fair and honest way .
Every case before it is heard by 3 ex referees who are acting anonymously . We know we couldn't trust Scottish referees refereeing in front of our eyes with possible TV replays . All three on the compliance team must rule the incident to be a red card before player is banned . In secrecy there will always be one to rule in favour of Rangers2012
Our game has been ruled dishonestly for years and now the compliance office is set up in a way to be a complete unfair farce .
Where is our game going.

McGrain and Jardine all over again. I appreciate players look on International Caps as recognition and it helps their CV financially.
Representing your country is usually a proud achievement; However - One day I just wish our players would just realize the corrupt and incompetent SFA are no friends of Celtic and tell them to bolt.
Never been a fan of Internationals, as they are an inconvenience and injury risk, as well as prolonging the season, which leaves us less recovery time for these infernal CL qualifiers.

Here's my take on the red card debate. "Excessive force" has being mentioned quite a lot lately. "Yes he had a wee kick out but was it 'excessive' force? ". In my opinion, if the ball is nowhere near you (McGregor) then there is ZERO requirement for any force to be used towards your opponent (Ajer) . Therefore, ANY force used - no matter how hard or soft your kick is - is surely excessive. Thoughts?

The problem we have seen this season is that precedent has been set. How many games with similar incidents have we seen? Its a joke. Where did it start? Where did it continue? Now list where it has blatantly been allowed to continue.
"Players" cough, know they can get away with it. It's yet another pi$$ take that from the outside harm's the credibility of our game up here. Even by last season's rules or previous would those incidents of passed unpunished? No. Would SGs comments about refereeing gone unpunished? No.
"Were waking in the dawn of VAR becoming the future of the modern game. Like it or not. Eventually it will be passed at every professional level. What are we seeing here this season? In any other work industry this wouldn't slide. Scottish football "aye nae bother"

Kevbhoy A strike by hand or foot by a Rangers player will never be ruled as excessive by compliance panel.

These cheats as that's what they are simply. are simply practising for var as I have no doubt these cheats would be the very ones dictating the outcomes. Simply cheating bar stewards.

Who was the 3 man ex referee panel. Hugh Dallas, mike mccurry and willie young by any chance 😂😂. absolute joke of a decision. the sfa would be as well getting nominated players from every spfl team up to hampden and give each a chance of booting someone up the backside till they decide who’s boot was excessive and who’s wasn’t.

Since the sevco 'journey'ended, and they were 'back where they belong', we have administered some real beatings on them. If the truth be told at least two of those games could have ended in double figures. Some even admitted that, even the media had to concede the point, so why has this entitlement nonsense came back?

I have seen and heard some real fantasy stuff, gerrard claiming they were coming into it second half for instance, but to suggest that they made us 'look good' is lunacy. We looked good because we have players who are better and more tactically aware. We also have an experienced coach who can change our shape in minutes. that's why we looked better. but the insanity gets stronger.

Seemingly because it was only one nil, we have moved backwards while they have gained. Because we had the same team as the last humping, while they had a new one, and did not score five this was some kind of pointer for the game at ibrokes. All this on top of hitting wood four times, and them claiming mcgregor is the best keeper in the uk. So the difference to me is simple. Last time our shots went in, this time they did not. But they were passed to death and over ran. We once again controlled the whole match.

We have played 20 more games more than them last season and the season before. They go on about being tired after Thursdays game! It's going to be a laugh listening to paranoid Steve. Its now open season for teams to kick out at Celtic players. A governing body that's not fit for purpose.

Agree2 Disagree0

04 Sep 2018 12:51:24
It's official! Every club in Scotland can kick Celtic players when they are on the ground.
The establishment has always been very obvious in their biased and tainted treatment of our club and now it has been publicly rubber stamped twice in three games. Naismith and McGregor should have been red carded on the spot, but we expect 'honest mistakes' often happen with referres and now we can expect the same from The SFA Compliance Officer; so now every thug in the country has carte blanche to assault our players.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Its out of order. Pedro should be earning with wages and pressing the matter further. The video footage cannot be denied.

{Ed007's Note - OAB - The Compliance Officer did think there was a case to answer and passed it on to the next stage where three former match officials were consulted and there was no unanimous agreement to take it further. I take it that means it was a 2-1 vote in McGregor's favour.
The Compliance Officer done her job and done it correctly.}

Cheers for correcting me with the proper protocol in these matters Ed I was not aware it had to go through these extra channels, but if the ex-officials could have been anyone from Clarke, Dougal, Young, McCurry, Brines, Dallas, McDonald or similar, we are shafted ha ha.
Still think it's very dangerous ground to start these precedents even when an opposing manager thinks it's a red card offence. We will see?

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note -
When their manager was asked if he would have had any complaints had McGregor been sent off, he said:

"No. I wouldn’t. He’s lashed out. Of course I will speak to him about it. Look, I’m honest, I’ll tell you what I see. I’m not going to sit here and do otherwise. If something’s blatant, it’s blatant."

I see Tony Watt got player of the month!

Can anybody see him back at Celtic Park in a couple years?

I think he could really turn his career around if he gets his head down there. He was without a club for a while and maybe that’s exactly what he needed to realise he was ruining his career.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Lol Kev, He’s always had a bad attitude and was never the best trainer even from a young age. Can have all the ability in the world but if the attitude is wrong then there’s not much a manager or coach can do.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Sep 2018 13:50:35
Big waste of talent ed. Seriously. Both of them could have done so much in the game and blew it.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Watt can still turn it around though, maybe not to a playing for Celtic level again and I think he would have been better off joining Kilmarnock under Stevie Clarke or even Hibs under NL to get him back on track but he's doing well so far at St Johnstone if he can just keep focused.
I watch Watt streaming on Twitch and he seems a lot more settled and relaxed than he has in years, he trains in the morning then it's straight home to get streaming and playing video games and when he talks about playing football you can hear in his voice that he's passionate about it again AND more importantly enjoying training/playing for the first time in years.
So it's 🤞 for the lad from me and if LG can turn it around and become a top striker there's nothing stopping Watt from doing the same. Ronny Deila went a long way to making LG the player he is now after getting inside his head and hopefully someone can do the same with Watt before it does become too late.}

04 Sep 2018 14:19:18
I just can't see him getting any higher than he is now ed.
But I do hope your right as he's one of our own.
But I do think there are differences between him and the griff as well.
Yes griff was close to blowing it at celtic but even then he had a steady stream of goals and that's why ronny really worked on him.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - He's only 24 and had got plenty of time to knuckle down, technically Watt's a better all round player than LG was at that age imo.}

04 Sep 2018 14:45:52
I was going to say I think Griffiths is a prime example of players turning their career around, i wasn’t pleased when we signed him but I’d love to see him retire in the hoops now.

Watt is only 24, if he works hard over the next few years I can see him joining us in his prime. I really wish he got the chance to work with Deila tbh.

Even if he doesn’t come back, best of luck to him he seems like a good lad.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - 👍

04 Sep 2018 15:07:28
Leigh Griffiths has scored goals since he was 16. The reason he struggled was because of Deila.

Deila tried to play him on the right wing then when he got bad results Griffiths went up top and scored 40 goals.

Griffiths pulled it back for Deila not the other way about.

Don’t agree Tesla regarding RD, he wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea but not everything he did was poor.

When we get 10 iar Ronnie can rightly have his momement in history and I wish him all the best.

As for Tony Watt for me he has scored one of the most memorable goals I have ever seen and I wish him all the best.
I hope he turns it around and re signs for us hitting his peak years, then turns over Barcelona once again.

Island Celt. I have nothing against Deila. I was just pointing out Griffiths was a goalscorer with a similar scoring record all through his career.

I wouldn't credit Deila for that. I do think Deila used him wrong initially but learned his lesson.

Just like he also tried to play Armstrong as a winger. His style though helped Rodgers come in to tweak things and not overhaul a team.

On the one hand you invariably get ex-huns like Rae, McCulloch, Ferguson and the rest who will lie in their teeth defiantly denying any negativity, wrong doing or questioning anything Sevco.
Then you have an array of ex-Celts, Nicholas, Provan, Walker, Commons usually sucking up to SLY and never having anything positive or accurate that puts Celtic in a better light than TRIFC 2012.
Big Sutton may be a bit critical at times, but at least he says it how he sees and feels about Celtic.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - You'll never agree with someone else all the time - you see that even on here - but that's why I really like Sutton, whether you agree or disagree you know he is giving his honest opinion and thoughts.
I don't know why Provan is the way he is but the other three have a serious chip on their shoulder because their Celtic career didn't go the way they wanted.}
