I would just like to say on the page today God rest John Thomson who died on this day 5th September 1931 playing for Celtic against rangers at ibrox. It might be 85 years ago but he will never leave the hearts of all the Celtic supporters. RIP John.

Who does everyone think should start against Sevco next week Roberts or Forrest?

Believable0 Unbelievable4

04 Sep 2016 15:11:02
That's tough because Forrest been great lately but Roberts is jus a little magician we the ball at his feet. Both have pace. I'd go with Roberts then bring Forrest on second half.

Agree4 Disagree5

04 Sep 2016 15:12:29
I'd take Roberts because he can cut in n take wallace out the game (same as sinclair on the left) but I can see Forrest starting due to his form.

Agree4 Disagree3

04 Sep 2016 15:13:17
Forest. He's been playing and been performing. Let the forces of darkness and evil chase James for 60 minutes then bring on Patrick just to cheer them up seeing a fantastic talent coming of the bench. PS: would love to get him on the books.

Agree4 Disagree5

04 Sep 2016 15:17:00
Most of us would like to see Roberts start but i can see Rodgers playing Forrest.

Agree12 Disagree4

04 Sep 2016 15:44:27
Roberts all day, everyday. Twice the player Forrest will ever be!

Agree7 Disagree6

04 Sep 2016 15:48:53
I'd have Forrest run them ragged for an hour, once their out on their arses let's add paddy bhoy in to the mix and let the hilarity ensue.

Agree4 Disagree4

04 Sep 2016 15:53:29
Has to be Forrest. He doesn't deserve to be dropped!

Agree4 Disagree5

04 Sep 2016 15:54:42
Bigger question me thinks than Forrest or Roberts is Criag Gordon or Dorus De Vries? I think the manager may go the opposite way from me.

Agree1 Disagree3

04 Sep 2016 16:03:32
I think he made his choice with the keeper last week JFP i think he wants his own signing in goals but he doesn't look any better than Gordon to me. But i did agree we needed a new keeper.

Agree5 Disagree3

04 Sep 2016 16:19:54
Judging DDV after one game is a little unfair. Gordon has been suspect for a while now.

Agree3 Disagree5

04 Sep 2016 16:21:05
Agreed James. I think the manager will play Dorus which concerns me a tad as I wasn't particularly impressed with her against the Dons last week.

Agree2 Disagree3

04 Sep 2016 16:31:15
How am i judging him after one game? I just said he didn't look any better than Gordon.

Agree4 Disagree3

04 Sep 2016 16:39:32
Guys after cup game last year, I would play Roberts as he will be busting a gut to play well and score.

Agree1 Disagree4

04 Sep 2016 17:01:15
I'd feel more comfy with DDV a man Rodgers knows and trusts than Gordon.

Agree2 Disagree5

04 Sep 2016 17:04:19
Timbo i love the wee man i'd never have him out off my team it would be great to see him run amok against them.

Agree6 Disagree3

04 Sep 2016 17:05:14
i am willing to give devries some time remember he didn't have a full pre season and is just back from injury as for Forrest or Roberts has to be Roberts for me much more gifted footballer i hate to admit but Forrest has played well lately but he doesn't have the class of Roberts imo.

Agree1 Disagree5

04 Sep 2016 17:10:44
I'd go with Roberts with forrest coming on when they're knackered from chasing shadows. As long as rogic's not too ****ed we'll be laughing, he's on fire the now, but he's got some travelling the now wae the socceroos.

Agree2 Disagree4

04 Sep 2016 17:32:23
Stephbhoy

Nail on the head so to speak. The KEY is ACM IE Rogic. If you get him the ball in the right places with PR or JF and SS and LG making the right runs ( and space for others) TR has the class to shoot and score or tee up others. What TR will we get. At home with the momentum I think we'll get the one that we all know and love. It's a big match and it wood be great if CFC turned up in full flow and put down a marker that demonstrates the gulf in class. Of course it's a unique event. The opponent will be completely and utterly motivated to stem the tide and move against the flow / logic and that is what will make it intriguing. They can hardly afford to lose 5 games in.

Still think JF merits his start. The bigger point is that there is no downside to an on song JF and a keen to get started PR.

Agree3 Disagree3

04 Sep 2016 17:42:32
From the players point of view his morale will be smashed if he is dropped because getting dropped when in form for a guy just returning from a hamstring injury shows nepotism and anyone would then think what's the point when I'm playing well and still get dropped. You can't drop the form player and like it or not that's Forrest.

Agree2 Disagree4

04 Sep 2016 17:59:04
Guys, a lot of us (including myself) have changed our attitude towards Forrest in recent times. Not so long ago we'd have been happy to chip in to see him walk away and even though he hasn't been outstandingly brilliant he has shown he has a game in his boots when his attitude is right and he feels the manager believes in him. HH.

Agree0 Disagree4

04 Sep 2016 19:34:58
It is interesting that some people seem to think having the support and backing of the manager gives the players confidence to play better . I would have thought even the slow learners among our supporters should have known that long ago and should be behind all our players and supporting them every game . Forrest and Roberts is an interesting dilemma for the manager, Forrest has done everything that could be expected of him during Roberts absence through injury . Roberts messed up big time when he had an open goal the last time we beat this lot, does he deserve any other chance when it means replacing an inform star?
For what it is worth I would start Forrest and substitute him with Roberts from half time up until the 75 min depending on how well Forrest is doing . The better Forrest does the less time Roberts get.

Agree2 Disagree4

04 Sep 2016 19:44:44
I'd play Roberts and Forrest and forget about a keeper, we won't need one against that mob.

Agree2 Disagree3

04 Sep 2016 20:24:04
Old Bhoy we didn't beat them when Roberts missed the sitter they beat us on penalties. Roberts has more than made up for that mistake with the supporters with his performances since then if its simply down to who is the best player between Forrest and Roberts who plays then its Roberts for me all day long.

Agree2 Disagree2

04 Sep 2016 20:35:34
Has to be Roberts right rogic central n Sinclair left Griff up top. For me a deadly front line. And Roberts always starts when fit 4 me, I think he's an absolute quality player n great 2 watch.
Hail hail.

Agree1 Disagree3

04 Sep 2016 22:03:45
Have to agree Bigshaw, I would start with the same front four. I honestly don't think they have anything we need to worry about, the biggest worry will be the ref, linesman and keeping 11 on the pitch as Barton and co might try and get Brown rattled and con the ref.

Agree2 Disagree2

04 Sep 2016 22:57:18
I think Forrest will start and then Roberts will come on after 60 minutes and score a double. 4-0 the Tic. Hail Hail.

Paradise: quite right, its a win-win. Glad to have a dilema on the right wing again :D.

Agree1 Disagree2

05 Sep 2016 07:44:56
I think Forrest will start as I'm not sure how fit Roberts is . A lot of people are saying about Forrest form, which is true in the league but are we all forgetting how terrible he was in the Israel game. He was lucky to keep his place in the team when br has been quite ruthless with team selection. I feel if Roberts was 100% fit he would have started him for the Aberdeen game after that performance.

Agree0 Disagree2

05 Sep 2016 08:28:58
Personally i would start with roberts depending on how fit he is.
Forrest has been great in recent weeks but realistically its the first he's done anything in 2 seasons and it wasn't long ago he wanted out of CP so i'm not fully convinced by him yet.

Putting the past aside imo roberts is twice the player forrest is and there is no room for sentiment in this game, strongest team out.

HH.

Agree0 Disagree2

05 Sep 2016 08:44:40
If he starts Forrest he will play out his skin, run the newco ragged, score and totally demoralise them. Save Roberts for 60 mins plus and then let him loose to complete the slaughter. Hail hail.

Agree1 Disagree1

05 Sep 2016 10:19:49
It's a chance for BR to try out some of the fringe players, maybe a few different tactics against 1 of the bottom 6 teams.

Old Bhoy, we all know how sensitive these 'thoroughbreds' can be. Of course it's important for them to feel loved. Just look at Yaya Toure's reaction when he didn't get a birthday cake from Man City. He was ready to throw his toys out of the pram and demand a transfer. Everybody, no matter what their job is, performs better when they feel appreciated so it's not just a football thing. HH.

Agree1 Disagree1

05 Sep 2016 16:57:15
Likely to be pace of JF and SS. Should keep Tavenier and Wallace playing deep and when they're getting gubbed and chasing the game bring Roberts on to finish them off.

05 Sep 2016 22:03:40
Bob the cat, of course you are right, surprising how many of our fans decide to abuse members of team they profess to love.
It's truly amazing.

Has the ref been announced?

Agree2 Disagree2

04 Sep 2016 15:25:45
They will be working with the ref now giving him his instructions on how to cheat us and at what time sevco will be awarded penalties, don't be surprised if its sevco's own personal referee Thomson.

Agree5 Disagree2

04 Sep 2016 15:32:26
Aye well that's what I'm thinking. Maybe save your money til we've seen what clown's in charge.

Agree0 Disagree2

04 Sep 2016 15:46:28
Bennybhoy, I never bet on our games in case I jinx them (like I nearly did with my Lincoln bet lol)
Avenue, if I was having a wee flutter, is an ordering off or a penalty (I take this bet on any Sevco match as referee always obliges)

Agree0 Disagree2

04 Sep 2016 15:47:51
They will definitely be under instruction, especially this season. It doesn't matter who refs it they are all the same they are all at it.

Agree5 Disagree2

04 Sep 2016 15:23:07
Why are some of our referees less the rangers inclined than others?

Agree1 Disagree2

04 Sep 2016 16:08:08
don`t think the ref will be Thomson after pissing of tv guys R last live game.

Agree0 Disagree4

04 Sep 2016 16:22:35
That won't bother the sfa masons Benny it will be whoever they think can do the best job for sevco lol.

Agree5 Disagree2

04 Sep 2016 16:58:58
I reckon the ref will be Bobby Madden as I can't see Thompson getting it just now. Either way, they will have a Rangers' bias as they always do.

Agree1 Disagree6

04 Sep 2016 23:33:13
Bennybhoy Barton red card is a good bet. definitely see red cards in game.

Agree0 Disagree1

05 Sep 2016 00:01:57
The referee is David Syme and the linesmen are high Dallas and Bob Valentine with jim carry as the 4th official

They have also decided to make rangers goal of 5 a side proportions and make it ten minutes each way

Still fancy the Hoops 3-1.

Agree2 Disagree2

05 Sep 2016 07:41:14
you guys are absolutely crackpots, biased refereeing lmao how many league titles and cups have you lot won? biased refereeing indeed.

Agree0 Disagree2

05 Sep 2016 08:07:19
Cee

There has been referee bias
Match YouTube it's all there for all to see

It's not really that hard.

Agree0 Disagree1

05 Sep 2016 10:28:41
Cee how many refs give penalties when both the ref and linesman where looking in the other direction. Well there is one well known ref who awarded oldco a penalty against celtic but yeah there is no bias. Look at the Jorge cadete fiasco also numerous good goals against oldco chopped off for no reason.

Agree0 Disagree1

05 Sep 2016 16:59:26
You can put your house on us getting a early player sent off and a penalty to them at some point during the game.
