Ok folks thing at a bit slow atm as the internationals are on, so time to get the Ed’s working again :)
What’s your best memory of Celtic winning the league: 86 at love street or the day we stopped tye huns winning 10in a row with Henrik and Harold or the night we beat the Huns within 10 men and Doyle tying sent off I’m sure we all have our favourite one?

I was born in 83 so stopping the ten is the big one for me.
I am also found of strachans 3rd after losing Tommy and skelping the mob twice in a week.
The come back for Lennons title the year they imploded was good tae.

Big Jv of h scoring up at tannadice as the Huns got beat at pittodrie on the last day of the season which coincidentally had been extended as the old club wer in uefa cup final, special mention to zenit st Petersburg for stopping them in that also, partied hard that night, what a relief 🇮🇪✌.

86 Love Street, was actually playing football that day in Renfrew and I'll never forget to my dying day the noise coming from the ground as we passed in a taxi heading for the pub. my wee maw God rest her was there representing the family and she was on Scot sport on the Sunday . great memories to go with the others. Winning at Tannadice just after TB died was special ☘.

Definitely ten men won the league, working in auchterader at the time travelled with 2hun work mates. If I remember right . Strikes were on which made it hard to get to the game. ON the way back silence was golden no sash no derry walls in the car but lots of broken promises what old co where go to do to celtic that night.

Must admit it's hard to choose over five decades and in recent years the league has been won at a canter; however the 2-2 draw at Ibrox where Jinky was amazing and scored a Brammer. The 3-0 win at Easter Rd to make it 8 in a row in 1973 was my first season on a supporters bus and the two mentioned already when 10 men won the league (and the film mysteriously vanished) and of course 2-0 against the saints in 97/ 98 to stop the manky mob.
Every one a golden memory and here's to many more.

born in 78 your younger than me stan ooft. love st was my 1st game but have to say beating the huns 5-1 on there own turf has to be my most memorable game guy on our bus refuses to go back there as says nothing gets better than that and he's in his 60s lol.

I remember Hearts were beating us 3-1 at half time and us signing we are sailing in the second half and winning 4-3. It was the late 70s we had joey Craig and Ronnie Glavin at the time. Joey Craig scored an amazing late goal against the Huns at ibrokes not long after that he swivelled on the edge of the box and cracked it in the top corner. It was a cold night game as I can remember and we went mental when Joey scored (Legend) 🍀🍀🍀.

So many great memories over half a century like many of you guys. 😂👍 But if I'm on my death bed tomorrow Larsson's nutmeg then chip over Kloss would undoubtedly pass before my closing eyes! What a gift to be part of the Celtic family! ☘️.

Why I hate international breaks.
1) they disturb our rhythm in the league
2) always chance of our players picking up an injury as we have more than any other club in league away,
my point made already with Simonovic and now Lustig, worried about Boyata playing two games also in 4 days
3) players like Rogic come back knackered after long tiring flights
4) does not give Rodgers much time to prepare for next game.

Guess that's the case for most Clubs who have a decent standard of player. Problem with being in Scotland is it's only really Celtic that will have an abundance of players away on International duty. Looking forward to seeing our Bhoys in action tomorrow it's made me enjoy watching Scotland again, even without Brown and Armstrong expecting 5 to start.

That would be my team to a T Stan but no doubt Strachan will put in Fletcher and either McArthur/ Bannan for McGinn and McGregor taking away any pace or goal threat we have in midfield.

Whilst it obviously is a worry for Club managers, like Stan says, Timbo, players getting called up is often just part and parcel of having a good side. Whilst injuries and fatigue are the cons, the pros are experience, as well as increased profile and a possible raise in stock. Take Boyata for example. Now Belgium have already qualified, and have the likes of Kompany and Vertonghen out, but him playing for Belgium could do both him and Celtic the world of good. People talking about a centre half in the summer, I bet if they were offered a 26-year-old Belgium International with CL experience, they would have creamed their knickers. The more players get called up, the better we will probably be looking.

With me it's just not about having decent players that get well-deserved international recognition and accepting that. It's more to do with our clubs long standing, tainted and tarnished history and relations with our nemesis the SFA.

Agree0 Disagree3

04 Oct 2017 15:10:25
@Once a Bhoy exactly the cheating SFA have turned me right off Scotland.
Also if Scotland somehow win these two games they go into 2 playoff games in November again interfering with our CL games. Then miracle of miracles they qualify for the world cup in Russia, Celtic will have about 6 key players playing all summer without a break and will come back knackered to play in FOUR CL qualifying rounds, no pull all our players out today, let Pedro's "professionals" carry the mantle lol.

I old enough to remember when Scotland qualified every time for the World Cup finals. 1978 in Argentina was the first I remember and was the most incredibile tournament with Scotland being so bad v Peru and then that goal and beating Holland. Every World Cup up to 1998 we were there always going out in the group stage but always giving us a great summer of football to be involved with. It is so long since we qualified that we have a whole generation who don’t know what it’s like to support Scotland at a major tournament finals. That’s why I want us to qualify so there is meaningful footy in the summer and we don’t have to “ pick any team but England”.

I will tell what pissed me right off. why have we not got one or two 30 some thing year olds for CH just itching for a game? and we should have another 30 something holding midfielder man. there is a free list just in case you think you need to spend money we need cover for CH and a holding M.
