Once again Sevco europa league rivals all failed to win today in their own leagues. How they managed to get a group were all the clubs are in total crisis is beyond me especially when they were 4th seeds. I still believe they will fail to qualify because even though they are playing teams that are utter dross, they are worse. If they do manage to get through they will be taking their eye off the big prize. Here we go 10 in a row.

The Europa league is a competition in which a lot of the teams in it couldn't care less.
I think it's only when clubs get to the later stages of it that they start to show an interest and field stronger teams.
Sevco will treat it seriously as it's a new experience for them, the first time in their short history that they have qualified for the group stages of a European competition. As they are unlikely to ever qualify for the Champions league this is them living their dream.

They never ever had ANY chance of the big prize.
Celtic fans really need to stop seeing them as big rivals.
All they are is a hearts hibs or Aberdeen.

Leon it must be tough being a Sevco fan 10 in a row here we go.

05 Nov 2018 10:27:04
We know how it feels after the 9 in a row. They need to prepare themselves for the 10,probably a few death threats with referees the closer we get, but it will happen. I feel the only way to punish them properly for all their cheating is to win the 10.All this “we deserve better” is rubbish cos Celtic are going to give them what they deserve.

05 Nov 2018 14:21:06
We are the only group that has 3 Domestic Champions in it. Even the CL hasn't got a group with 3 Winners.

I know this maybe unpopular but Armstrong is likely not enjoying his time in England can't get a game and not playing means for al the money he might be earning if you are unhappy at work you think about changing employers
Maybe we should consider a bid next summer also Fraser Foster and Patrick Roberts could consider what they missed at Celtic.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

04 Nov 2018 17:36:15
Armstrong’s heart was never at Parkhead and wouldn’t take him back and Paddy had enough chances to stay for me but chose to go. Big Forster is a good shout though.

04 Nov 2018 17:51:46
Celtic was a stepping stone for these players. They don't have the connection we do with the club. It's all about the money for most players.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Nov 2018 18:02:28
Would rather move forward with fresh faces to be honest.

Agree3 Disagree0

04 Nov 2018 19:51:15
Sometimes the grass definitely isn't greener and there are several ex-Celts who are testament to that as their career's faltered.
However, there is also a lot to be said for the 'never go back' philosophy as it may never replicate the success of times past?
Neither of those three really wanted to stay long-term anyway and although we are absolutely flying at present with the team on top of their form and confidence; I am sure BR has other ideas about any future recruitment to improve and progress even further.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Nov 2018 19:58:55
Wouldn’t want Armstrong or Roberts. Neither of them appreciate what it means to play for Celtic. Maybe Forster but controversial as it may sound, I still have a lot of time Craig Gordon.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Nov 2018 20:36:12
Rarely works out a player returning they all thought they could do better so let them stay where they are. Fosters distribution is worse than CGs so can't see him being BRs type of keeper.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Nov 2018 20:56:53
Don't need any of them.

was thinking the same thing about armstrong to be honest, he's no kicked a ball since he moved and i'm all for having the top scottish players in the squad.

Loved the three of them playing in the hoops but as said before they thought we were a stepping stone to better things.

Ed just reading James McLeans response to those abusing him yesterday. There's a rumour that Neil Lennon wants Celtic to sign him to take the pressure off him in Scotland.

The guy has balls of steel, would have easy for him to say it’s no worth the hassle and wear the thing but he’s strong enuff and brave enuff to stand up for something he believes in. he’s a legend in ma eyes.

I see today that man United player matic said and did not wear a poppy on his shirt for personal reasons. Let see if he gets the same abuse as James McLean. Some how l doubt it as he is not an Irish Catholic from Ireland!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Man Utd refused to put a poppy on their top until about 2010/11ish

A United spokesman said: "Our work with the armed forces is not something that we shout about. We do a lot of work with the armed forces and we don’t do it to get media attention."

05 Nov 2018 18:21:53
One Man Utd fan tweeted that Matic shouldn’t play for them again at #nosurrender. Same breed as the scumbags from the north east that was abusive to James McLean. Little Englanders to a man. Sweetie paper rustling prawn sandwich eating twats. Proud of James for making his stand. He wasn’t objecting to anyone else wearing a poppy he just wanted his right not to wear one to be respected.

Agree1 Disagree0

05 Nov 2018 22:04:59
Someone sent me a link to a comparison between McLean and matic reports in the same paper. One was total condemnation the other was very sympathetic, can anyone guess which was about mclean? I'd love him to sign for us but I would genuinely fear for his life. If u think the crap lennon takes is bad wait till a Tim from Derry that chose the Republic pulls on the hoops.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Let's hope that now Matic has spoken out it will encourage more players to assess their own comfortability with it next year.}

05 Nov 2018 22:26:09
I think the abuse mclean took from the Stoke fans might have the opposite effect ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I don't know, Steph, who knows what kind of $hithole we'll be living in next year but I do think there will be more pressing issues to face.}

Reading posts about Ntcham and selling him now we have seen what Macgregor and Christie have been doing over the last few games. All this tells me is that players need to be playing regularly if not they struggle when asked to come in on a random basis. Continuity is the best policy.
Yes MacGregor has been fantastic recently and looks set for a great career playing in central midfield and there is no reason why Ntcham cannot play along side him in the future. I have said before that Ntcham is not at his best away from Celtic Park but that could be more to do with his age than his ability and progress will come in that department.
All in all things are looking very good in certain areas of the team. However central defence is still a long term concern Benkovic wants to return to Leicester in the future and Boyata is still leaving unless he signs a new contract. Lusnig in no longer a quick player and needs to be replaced
So a new defence for next season has to be a priority and two or three players will have to be bought in also cover at forward will be requiredthen and only then can we build for the long term and to compete in Europe
This should have been done last summer and had we qualified for the champions league Dembele might have stayed.

The league table is looking better after the last 5 matches. Celtic top the form table over this period with maximum points. In the form table we have collected 8 points more than hearts and hibs 5 more than sevco. Strangley the team in 2nd place is st johnstone who after losing 6-0 to Celtic, have won their last 4 games without losing a single goal. Hopefully we can keep the winning run going whilst the rest take points off each other.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Remember a few weeks ago there were posters questioning if we would win the league 😂😂😂😂

04 Nov 2018 15:46:21
Some of our fickle fans were going on about Brendan leaving and why he never bought Flannagan, Ejaria and kent 😂😂😂.

With the form of Christie and McGregor, show of hands who thinks it would be sensible buisness to sell Ntcham and use the funds to buy Benkovic and maybe try and convince Boyata to sign a new deal?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

04 Nov 2018 11:21:12
Christie has played a few good games of late, not even close to Ntcham ability wise imo - so no

Maybe Celtic can just buy Benkovic given the shambolic transfer windows we have had to endure lately and show some actual ambition.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Nov 2018 11:27:50
It’s rather exciting though to see our players step up and hopefully Christie will get better and better

McGregor and Forrest have stepped up, Tierney is great just a pity there isn’t a proper Scottish Centre half coming through.

04 Nov 2018 12:29:28
If Ntcham wants out - and his recent attitude might suggest it - then I am sure the club will tout for business and look for a big fee. However, as much as the arrangement you suggest would be ideal; the chances of most or all of any money being handed to the manager may not be that straightforward?

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Nov 2018 12:44:40
How come everytime a player hits a ruff bit of form we hear the pish
THEY WANT OUT.
Ntcham came out last week and said he was happy here.
Why sell him to finance anything?
Why not keep our best players and add to them instead?

Agree2 Disagree0

04 Nov 2018 13:19:47
He's not one of our best players - in fact, he's nowhere near it. It's no coincidence how much better the team have been without him playing.

Agree0 Disagree1

04 Nov 2018 13:41:32
Both are different sort of players and for different games we need both not a good idea IMO to get rid of one we need both of them.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Nov 2018 14:03:27
Andy he's is one of our best player and had at times totally run games for us, including the last rangers game.
He is a very good young player that is only going to get better. Would be mad to punt him now.

04 Nov 2018 14:36:09
Ntcham is class the first 2 months if the season were rotten does that mean they all wanted out . and why would Leicester sign a boy for 13mill put him out on loan and then sell him and Celtic wouldn't pay the money.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Nov 2018 16:51:59
When Christie was at Inverness he always looked like their best player by a mile but like a few others he couldn’t make the leap up to our first team. Fair play to him though as the last few games he’s looked good for us, and dare I say it he’s looked like the Armstrong replacement we need, especially when playing Odsonne up top on his own where we need a midfielder breaking. However, we shall have to see how he copes against euro competition before we start heralding him too much. He was poor in the last game so that obviously needs to improve.
On a side note like others have said, Filip and Boyata look the best centre back pairing we have had for ages. Such a shame we probably won’t even be bidding for Filip 🤢.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Nov 2018 16:51:15
I think Ntcham looks totally uninterested and never seems to break into a sprint. Not good enough IMO.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Nov 2018 17:21:56
Kev T regarding Tierney you are correct about him being great, and until he gets protection from referees he will be seriously injured, some of the tackles on him are a disgrace. oldkilly.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Nov 2018 18:20:57
It’s funny ed, every time a player isn’t playing or has had a few off game Celtic fans seem to think there is some major problem

Rogers is leaving
Griffiths is an alky
Mulumbu is a mole
Ntcham and eddy miss dembele so want to leave.
Total nonsense.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'm still not convinced with the Mulumbu being innocent, the story was that him and Scott Allan were carrying tales and BOTH got caught out when planted stories they were fed - and I heard that round about the time we played the Kilmarnock league game & St Johnstone cup game.}

04 Nov 2018 21:30:55
Andy what player are you watching Ntcham is class and will only improve
Probably will be sold, but to suggest the boy is no anplayer is absolute drivel.
Are you sure your not Andy1690 moonlighting?

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Nov 2018 23:03:14
When Andy 1909 said above "It's no coincidence how much better the team have been without him playing. " with reference to Nitcham my first thought was following that logic we should also sell Scott Browne. A few years ago we would not only have sold James Forrest but probably given him away and now he is one of our better players. I for one will trust the management who work with Nitcham and al the other players to decide what too do.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Nov 2018 23:44:01
Just to be clear Andy, N’tcham’s the black guy that plays in the midfield, right?

Agree1 Disagree0

05 Nov 2018 07:16:54
I don't believe it ed.
Same rubbish was said about Scott McDonald and few other players over the years.
I don't think he'd ever get near the squad again if that was true.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It's meant to have been Scott Allan that was leaking the team...

05 Nov 2018 11:09:44
There's some mince spoke on here at times. ntcham up until a couple of weeks ago was the fans fav now in some fans minds he wants away total nonsense. we win back to back trebles with broony in the engine room he misses a few weeks and he's suddenly no good. Jeez.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Nov 2018 11:42:19
Am not sure about that either ed. These timesheets are out there well before they are announced.
Press department
Kit department
Pinned up on boards to go through.
There's a hundred ways it can get out.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - The press only find out the team the same time as everyone else - an hour and a quarter before K.O. when Brendan Rodgers gives the referee the official team sheet and appropriate paperwork and the Club release it on social media - I can have the team up on here before the Record or Clyde have it up if I type fast enough.
I really can't see John Clark leaking anything either.}

05 Nov 2018 22:34:23
If that's the case ed and I don't doubt u for a minute, I would terminate both their contracts if it was legal. Surely that's a sackable offence.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It sounds like Mulumbu showed some naivety and was telling ex-team mates (that doesn't mean just Boyd if him at all, Boyd could have been hearing 3rd or 4th hand Chinese whispers from other Killie players) how things were going for him - or so he thought. If it's true I'm sure he's filly aware now how different things are at a Club the size of Celtic with the intensity of interest from all directions.
Scott Allan's just Scott Allan, a waster, a professional player who turns 27 this month and hasn't even managed 180 games at the 12(?) clubs he's been at!
We all know how Brendan likes quick and nippy players who can pick a pass and put defences under pressure around the box - so how shite must Allan be in training not to get a sniff of a game? He'd probably do anything to keep relevant and show off to his cronies at other clubs and in the media.}
