Once again we have the spectre of Longmuir and others trying to get a head of steam to get Rangers into a higher division that they would be entitled to. This needs to be stopped ansd have them put in the place they deserve which will be the third tier of Scottish football next season no matter what reconstruction takes place.

Hi Ed I have a wee question just for you mate. What is your take on the whole the rankers thing? ie do you think they've cheated and gotten away with it, do you think they should have been put into the fourth tier etc etc,. ,. kbarry {Ed007's Note - There are no Rangers any more, they are being liquidated,. This pathetic tribute act The Rangers/Sevco are are insignificant. It's happy days all round.}

I completely agree Ed, I think Ronaldo is better than Messi. When Barca don't play well Messi doesn't, whereas Ronaldo can win you a game on his own. Plus he always delivers in the big games, whereas Messi, of late hasn't. He gets hammered over here for the way he acts to, which is out of order. Does loads of work for charity which the press fail to mention. His goal scoring record is unbelievable too. Can you believe some people actually believe Gareth Bale is better than him? Mental. They get paid to give their views as well, why would anyone in their right mind think that?

Deady bears should be concerned about today. Not another good day. The trading losses blatantly smothered in the media. What more nonsense from Green. If everything was ok why did he need to come out with that? The answer is clearly things aren't ok.

anyone know how much the zombies are getting for renaming Rangers towers?
i heard it was £200 for a year, but I can't believe that someone would be willing to pay that much for naming rights in scotlands lowest tier and be forever associated with scotlands shame.

ahhh. back home, it's not true though. the grass definitely is greener on the other side, except when I look into my neighbours garden, and of course that sh'thole in govan!

how's everyone doing? GJ, Tim, Mrs E, Pat et al?

just been catching up with a few posts and saw the greatest player topic. for me, without a doubt it has to be Maradona, a lot have come close, but he had it all, but I think if Messi continues the way he has been, for the next 5-6 years I think he could definitely be considered. one player who never seems to get the recognition he deserves though is Emilio Butragueno, I remember watching him before sly took over the world and sensationalised anyone playing in the epl, and he was one of the finest in the world at the time. great player, and had the pleasure of seeing him in a madrid v atletico game when I was on holiday.

Evening Ed, and the regulars, just to apologise on my rant yesterday RE: the Banter page and all the dross posted. I stick by what I said and my reasons for it, but everybody has opinions! Mines just can't hang out a whole year on the same rubbish.
My post probably went unnoticed or disregarded which is fair enough, but in my mind I'm 100% right.
Yes "They" cheated, Yes "They" got away with it, but no matter the bleating, nothing's going to Change what's happened?! I love the banter attached to it but for a good while it wasnt banter, it was boring and bordering on politics on a "Banter Page" again that's my opinion.
Now, barring that Rangers die again? The only thing I would like to know is, have their title haul stopped at 54 full stop? Know body knows and know body has stated otherwise!
I'm not interested in financial stuff, who's contradicted who, who owes who what, and will they get it or not? But I guess some people are.
I love football, on the pitch!
So again I apologise, wether I agree or not, it's still a brilliant page, there was no dig intended Ed, withought posts the page doesn't exist?!

Absolutely no doubt this will not be posted, on the basis that this about 7 times I have tried, but can we get back to this being a Celtic site instead of everything about rangers hierarchy. {Ed007's Note - It is not 7 times you have tried to post anything like that, I looked it up. I take it the irony of you speaking about The Rangers/Sevco went over your head. Why not start a thread about CFC instead of whining.}

Haw haw THIRD channel TV hardly mentioning £1m a month loss at ibroke. Jabba obviously persuaded Green he needed to go on telly (not live, only recorded) to tell us Ally's getting new players and Ibroken to be renamed sports direct. But no money mentioned for Ally (not £10m+ anymore) and new name not mentioned nor money. Shifty guys for shifty times.
Shame on John MacKay and big Raman going along with this charade.

Hi Ed

All this nonsense about if the team formally known as Rangers wins D3 then it will be they're 55th league title.

Now we all know that this cannot happen as that team died in 2012. But say they did still have they're history, my understanding is UEFA do not recognise lower division titles and they must win the SPL to add to that tally.

Liverpool for example have won 18 league titles, but have also won 4 second division titles. But it is only the 18 top tier titles that are recognised as they mean they were the best in the country and not just the best in the league.

So it is 54 and no more I believe.

The £250,000 fine given to Rangers, for an 'admin error' equates to a £68. 68 per day fine. This 'admin error' rmeans that all the players receiving EBT's were inelligible for the competition (s) that they played in at the time. If this is the case Every team in Scotland should play suspended players in their next game. The fine can not be more than what has been handed down in the last week. I would personally pay the £68. 68 for Wanyama to play against Aberdeen as he is suspended for then.

Another good blog by Paul McConville (Random Scots Law)
In the blog Paul mentions "Gratuitous Alienation" and can see the Liquidators BDO looking again at how much (or little to be more precise) Green acquired Rangers for.
Immediately on paying £5.5m for the assets Green then immediately revalued Ibrox and Murray Park for £40m plus "intangibles" at £19m ( the administators valued intangibles at £1, yes ONE MEASLY POUND)
Like most on here I am not familar with takeovers or the legal process or legal jargon. But what I take the
term "gratutious alienation" to mean is that a company knowingly paid less than the assets were worth thus depriving the creditors of extra money.
(I am sure someone on here if not ED007 will correct me if I have that wrong)
Paul goes on to say, he cannot see BDO going to court which will be long and protracted, but may settle for an agreed extra payment, which Rangers will also pay to get to the end of all this. Timalloy

For those Celtic fans who wonder why a player would move to play in the EPL, I have an answer.

Sammy Clingan; released from League 1 Doncaster - signed by Kilmarnock.

Michael Nelson; League Cup winner with Kilmarnock - sold to League 2 Bradford.

George Francomb; Not even close to Norwich 1st XI - Successful loan to Hibs.

Leigh Griffins; can't get in the Wolves side that are in Championship relegation zone - Top scorer for Hibs this season.

Celtic are a good club, but your opposition is poor quality! Celtic may play 6-8 Champions League games every season, but in the EPL you play 38 quality games a season.

CanaryBhoyTom {Ed007's Note - Yeah Tom, it is every player's dream to play in a Norwich v Wigan match, it doesn't get much better than that.}

I mentioned four months ago I could see a scam being rolled out and I'm sure it will.

CG won't spend a penny on preparing Ibrox for the commonwealth games thus forcing the commonwealth games committee to spend the necessary millions to upgrade Ibrox, quoting there's no time left, activities scheduled for Ibrox etc.

I would urge the committee whilst there is time to drop Ibrox and nominate somewhere else. Our politicians need to get involved NOW to save public money.

I can't believe how bad English football supporters really are, first it was Manchester United fans in Madrid singing our song "Having a party in the champions League" Now Liverpool and Swansea have here version of just can't get enough, (Which was very poor) The creativeness of English football fans is poor we all know that, I hate how they copy us though. I mean Just can't get enough can be sung by anybody, but Celtic have made it famous in football. GhreenBhoy1888

When reading Davie Provans article how many people wondered what the agenda was? This morning we seem to have found out. The The rangers are bleeding money. The publishing of accounts, half yearly and unaudited, gives their fans a glimpse into greens stewardship of the club. The cold hard facts are it is costing the The rangers a shed load of cash to keep running. Operating expenses of £16.6m compared to revenue at £9.5m. Around £7m per month in losses. To be fair green did state this a few weeks ago, but as usual no pertinent questions were asked of him, but these numbers must alarm any sane fan of the club.

We are at the stage in the season where we count down to the season end in weeks. In the close season there is no, or very little, income stream, but the costs keep live. At the season end green and various others are due a massive bonus for winning promotion, but from the third division, as will players and management. Remember also that this club has no overdraft facilities, no tide things over till the season book cash arrives money, and very little scope for increasing revenue.

The simple thing to do is cut your costs. Would green do that? Would the fans understand if say Wallace went for £3m? I would have to doubt that. The next move is an increase in season ticket cash. a 30% increase would yield an extra £7-9m. Again, would the fans renew in the same numbers? Then there is the subject of stadium upgrade, another of greens major selling points, he claimed £9m would be set aside for this. Addidas, Blackthorn and puma, still no mention of the figures involved. He could of course be holding this back to counter the no doubt frightening numbers to come in April in the audited accounts.

So back to Mr Provan. He started the push to get them back into the SPL. I now expect the MSM in Scotland, and the authorities, to try everything they can to facilitate this. Green and the The rangers need to be in the SPL. For all the bluster of not wanting in it, he would jump at the chance. The numbers just don't add up. I suspect, and if it does not happen I would be shocked, that green may have to face some tricky questions from the more switched on fans of the club. To get in the league below would probably even the numbers out. Season book increases, one last push boys etc, etc, might be more acceptable to fans for one year to return to the top league. Could be an interesting few months. green jhedi

During the widespread tax avoidance EBT period at Rangers Nov 2000 - May 2011 RFC won the following

5 SPL League Titles
5 Scottish Cups
6 League Cups

This is 1 SPL title and 1 Scottish Cup LESS than Celtic. RFC did win 3 more League Cups more than Celtic

So with an undisclosed £47 million admin error to pay players with, RFC won 3 more league Cups than their nearest rivals but could not win more SPL titles. What a shower of wallopers

What this tax avoidance scheme did cost them was their Club. I can only assume from the celebrations going on, these League Cups were worth all the shame and tears over the last year

hello hello, i'm back, I was liquidated by 001 in january i've been trying to get on to an epl site since then, with no luck. lord nimmo smith says I was guilty but I can play again with no punishment or penalties. I still say I did nothing wrong. i'm going to keep wearing the same clothes and badges, good god, i'm starting to sound like them. anyhoo I see they are running at £1m a month loss, you might remember I posted a paul mcconnville blog last july which is pretty much what he said then. with next to no revenue may, june, july and august they are going to be another £10m down before they kick a ball next season. £10m season book sales will cover it but leave them with nothing for operating costs. in the words of that green brigade favourite. hear we go again. shammy

All shareholders, season ticket holders, general fans of the club are all well come into Celtic park from 11. 30am to join in with a 7 minute laugh at noon.

Debt then debt now debt forever

I have been reading all the various comments on the Nimmo findings etc. I have struggled to spend any time reading it as I am still disgusted. I had said previously that there would be a slap on the wrist then we could all get back to our cosy nests (eggs). Well it did happen sure enough. If the SAF/SPL were really concerned about displaying this as being dealt with integrity then the case should have been dealt with by a nuetral group (Possibly England where senior people do not really care about who wants to inflict carnal exercises on the head of the vatican nor is really interested in some bloke on a white horse jumping over a stream over 320 years ago)! My friend from the USA commented to me - "So this Rangers, in effect, cheated the system and gained a financial advantage against the other competing clubs?" "Why have they not had their go**am a**s kicked out of football?" He just laughed and said, "no wonder we prefer baseball" (or rounders as I keep pointing out to him)! This effectively has highlighted the fact that the EBT information was available but the SPL/SFA ect did not question it (so they screwed up right there). The rulles are there, the punishments are there and they have all been accepted by all registered clubs in the SFA (Oh wait, that was the OLD rangers!) Actually, I feel a wee bit better getting that off my chest. I t took me a wee while to edit and remove the swear words! Keep up the good work Eds - Hail Hail
