the post that said its not acceptable to have a drink with a rangers player , your a bigot pal

Believable8 Unbelievable2

It was only a few years ago that Lennon & McCoist would go golfing together before both men were made managers of their teams.

The whole mcgregger thing.there's more to that than meets the eye I think. Before mcgreggor moved recently they were just about next door neighbours which in any case isn't good for business. it's a Shame but wish him well

I hope the Celtic management reconsider, and re instate Alan Thompson. If his lifestyle is affecting his work he will have learned a very sharp lesson to change his way's .everyone deserves another chance..Unless he's had other chances we don't know about.Good luck Thommo.H H

Believable5 Unbelievable4

Totally agree ! but i'm affraid big companys including celtic don't take personal problems into consideration . i don't know what he got up to if anything but the guy split from his wife last year and he has probably went a wee bit haywire . me and my ex good lady split about seven years ago and at the time i was howling at the moon , geting p!ssed at every opertunity, and generally being a teenager all over again . but eventually , and it can take longer than a year. you realise how rediculous the oldest swinger in town looks . alan is a good coach and i'm sure he'll work again with somebody else , but it won't be with celtic . good luck, thank you and best wishes for the future alan..bb

ive always thought its not the rangers fans fault the state their club is in,it was the profiteers but ,when you think about it they profited the most from celebrating their so called glory years? bri67

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Ger's man here. Nice of you to say that but, Rangers have to be punished. I won't even try to speculate what that punishment should be but never the less, we supporters are going to have to accept what comes and do their damndest to make sure that we never see our club in this position again.

sad to see thommo go was a great player and gave the club 9 years service but something hasnt been right for a while i think, out socialising with a rangers player is not acceptable in my eyes,i may sound harsh here but a celtic coach shouldnt be doing that

Believable2 Unbelievable22

Behave yourself. He had a drink with a Gers player? So what? You need to stop being so narrow-minded.

I remember being at an Old Firm game(late 60's,early 70's?) when Colin Stein was down injured and getting treatment.Somebody in the crowd threw an opened can of beer onto the pitch. It was picked up by Tommy Gemmell and he shared it with Willie Johnston so Old Firm players have been openly fraternising for years ! (Sometime cans were thrown that were full of a different liquid !).

To the OP.....My old man is in the orange lodge, has served in the British army, fought in the Falklands, yet his best mate who he'd put his life on the line for is 100% his opposite, tricolour tattoos loves his Celtic100% opposite in every way, the two of them are peas in a pod, every old firm game is the biggest laugh in whoevers house they are at, constantly rib each other, but best mates to the end, get a grip life is far too short.

Agree10 Disagree0

To the 3rd poster who say's Celtic management "Shouldn't drink with Rangers player " I'll give you some credit and will agree that it's a little odd but, you really need to get in touch with your worldwide supporters clubs cause as a Ger's man, I've been welcomed in every Celtic Supporters Club I've ever been too. I've even been told I can wear my Ger's top to Old Firm games as well. Out of respect, I've never worn it but I'll tell ya, there's been a few pints tipped by both set's of supporters at both supporters clubs. Get a grip son, it's just fitba

Agree9 Disagree0

To op . my misguided brother is a gers fan should i not have a pint with him . i love the guy . you are a sad sad person and part of the problem that the knuckle draggers keep going between the two clubs. rivalry, mocking for ninety minutes yeah love it . but.. ah whats the point , the likes of you will never understand..bb

Rangers Fan
come in peace

To Alan Thompson,

All the best, hope you get the support you need the now, i hated you as a Celtic player cause you gave Rangers problems during the old firm game's, but some people (Yes the knuckle draggers from Ibrox)need to take the ex Celtic player fact out of his personal and private life.

All the best Alan

Thanks jimi88,manners cost nothing, its clear he needs support right now and bottom line its got really nothing to do with football, just hope the media dont make it into something else.
Ive got my local team over to follow Toronto FC.
Side note Canada draw 0,0 against America last night, what that tell you about Scotland

@Das

Thomo does need support , i hope he gets it . I must apologise for the liquidation goading ive been subjecting you to , my brother is a decent bear , and i suspect you fall in the same category . You must be able to understand the bragging rights , as painful as it is .
For you and my brother , i feel empathy and a genuine sadness , however , for every owner of a lambeg drum and aged sash , i say " cast it to the flame of Satan " , Scottish football is worse for it's presence .

@jimi88 its all banter that you would hear in the pubs, we would be doing the same if the tables was turned, maybe in the long run it will be a good thing for Scottish football.

Whatever the reason Alan thomsons record at Celtic afforded him a more dignified exit. Very bad pr by Celtic.

And how would you suggest Celtic should have dealt with it.

Looks like Rangers top earners can walk away from Ibrox on FREE TRANSFERS, because Craig Whyte still owns 85% of the club.

If Rangers want the Appellate Tribunal to apply the letter of the law in handing out a "new" penalty to them, as seems to be their wish, then they will find that ejection from the Scottish Cup is not a punishment that is open to the Tribunal.

You can only eject a team from a competition if the competition has actually started and the Scottish Cup has not yet started.

There is no provision under the SFA rules to allow for suspension from the Scottish Cup.

K-Dot.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Feel sorry for them on this one. When an owner does something wrong then Rangers have to take their medicine. But D&P are administrators who protested a sanction that any sane person would have seen as getting off softly! They made up a sanction to help them. Whilst they are in admin they couldn't sign a player anyway.

Agree4 Disagree0

They represent the creditors mate...sad for us but , that's the reality

Agree0 Disagree0

There will be quite a few mad club owners across europe watching this. If rangers arent dealt with all sorts of madness will start.

Agree0 Disagree0

Feel sorry for all the decent rangers supporters, but your not going to tell me Ally,Walter and Sandy didn'tgive advice on this.Although rumour has it Ally agree'd with court action

Edd007 sorry in advance about this post but been thinking about this & don't know if it has been brought to the table yet....

Let's say rangers get out of admin on the 12th of July via CVA. But then in say 3 weeks the BTC comes back as guilty, what happens there? HMRC have all access to every account in rangers so they know how much is in the 'business' account but do they force rangers back into admin again but them being the biggest creditor do they have the power to appoint there admin this time unlike last time when Whyte pulled in D&P?

Hope that makes sence

Lenny

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Mate it is like bankruptcy, once the cva has been agreed theirs no going back. That's why rangers have dragged this case out. As hmrc right now are less than 25%. If the big tax case goes againstvthen its over 25%.

Agree0 Disagree0

HMRC & Ticketus both have more than 25% . Both of them WILL reject a CVA

Don't know why Alan Thomson got sacked, and as it was probably 'personal' reasons, I do not wish to speculate or gossip on what must have been a painfull call for NL to make. Thomson scored sopme very important goals and changed many a game with that left foot and I wish him all the best.
Here is a chance to appoint someone with a wealth of experience to improve the management team and get someone in who knows the club and can shoulder the load if NL finds himself 'up in the stand' for one reason or another. Aitken, Black, McGrain, Collins, McStay or Larsson??

Ger's man here ! Sincerely hope that Thompson can get his life sorted out. It would be easy to dump all over Lennon/Celtic for this decision but I have to believe that Lennon is just dishing out some very necessary tough love to his friend. All the best Alan

watching Canada vs USA and i think Levin should be gone as Scotland manager because Canada is taking it to them(where it should be 1-0 for Can but a fake call made it not count) and they have Dempsy in the team with ther regulars. Im Canadian and if we can beqt them then it might be time for Levin to go,i use to like him but he cant get the team going. I always support Scotland and cheer for them. dont know how Scotland los so bad with the players we have compared to Canadas players

i cant believe green and adminisratos....it would be a shame and it would hurt Scotland if rangers are kicked out....you would think that if they thought this then they would never have challenged the band. that is the worse thing i have heard yet, they have been using it since this all started but. im tierd of them trying to thinkthat the spl is the bad ppl and the ones shutting them down. ed is it coming to an end soon, like really soon? cant take it anymore after they said they it would be really bad for Scotland, well if it is why give the chance for it to happen...we all know thier plan is to newco. {Ed007's Note - It will run a while yet IMO.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Thats like sayin tae yer really noisy neighburs tae cam doon then when theyr gettin thrown oot thur shoutin" yil miss wur music ya bams!

Agree0 Disagree0

They never challenged the ban , they went to court because the sfa used a rule that wasnt there , ano rangers are celtic fans favourite subject , so can you at least try and find out whats going on first befor you spout your drival

Agree1 Disagree5

@2....if you go to court for something that was handed out by a panel it is, get this, challanging the ruleing but i understand how yous cant even see what makes sense anymore. and why are you on a Celtic page, seems Celtic are you favorite supect. and the only drival is coming from you and your club, if you want a rule call that fits the crime thenyous should be GONE but as normal the spl go light on yous.. and the stupidity coming from you and your club seems to know no bound and it is that inwhich i am tiered of so take joy in knowing that your rff helped get your club into bigger trouble. bye bye cheats! a change is a coming for the better and greater good!
