A classic post from "the shames" site....Starting to look very likely that tevez will be jelavics replacement.......I know this sounds mental but so does 9m for jelavic and 6m for davis so real possibility of happening!!
pass the joint!!

I think rather than a joint what you maybe could do with from Santa this year is a big old "irony detector" CB67.

One last thing that was on my mind today Scotty broon has got to now shoe why we've put so much money into him over the years and this week. Yes he gives his all (i don't think anyone can disagree with that) but with the competition we have in midfield he's really got to play the way we know he can, so c'mon scotty do the job for us now and show us all what a real Celtic captain is!!
I also think that we may see Ki jumping into the EPL for me theres no consistancy in his game at all, imo if we had to lose one of the midfielders it would be him for sure, no question at all.
By the way Ed do you know did Celtic actually ended up paying his "agent" i think its that pondlife willie mackay? (I may be wrong there).
CB67 {Ed007's Note - It is McKay that represents him, although Brown was supposedly leaving him a while back I don't think he did (or he re-signed with him later). I have no idea what the financial side of the deal is.}

Believable0 Unbelievable2

I guess they must have if that was the main point it dragged on so long for, is it just me or did anyone else think it was a strange time to sign up?? 3 days after being able to talk to other clubs??
CB67 {Ed007's Note - If that is true about him being able to talk to other clubs since 1st December it is the only footballers contract I have heard of in the UK who's contract doesn't expire on 31st December or 30th of June. It is part of the rules in England and Wales although the SPL rules don't explicitly state it (I looked). I asked Ed002, she is an expert in that type of thing and she said she would have her doubts if that was the case, none of the databases we use had that as an expiry date, it is a very strange one TBH.}

OMG it just gets worse every time you see that (regarding the "pen") well done Sono your really getting into the Shames way off "playing".....football??
A shocking own goal and that decision just great stuff of real champions!!
Sportscene have just noticed that this ref gave the conner "pen" too, he's got to be taken down to this lower leagues for sure imo.

Hi Mrs E, how you doing?? Did any of your nags romp home this weekend??
yep scotty bhoy has to produde the goods we know he can, its time to for him to step up and do it every week.
cheers CB67 ;)

I'm just fine CB67.. no bets on this weekend. Crystal Palace beat my wee coupon on Friday.

I hope we see a bit of spark from him as well, I like him. A girl in my work who's a Rangers fan calls him her guilty pleasure - she thinks he 'hot' (her words). Stalked him as Hamilton races last year ~ Mrs E

By the way I thought the Celtic support were in great voice today, it was deafening at some points. Great stuff guys keep it up, we truely are the best fans in the world!!
On a different note i've just seen "the shames" so called "penalty"......wow it's just ridiculous. But hey what can you do??
Maybe that was sono trying to make up for last week?!?! They were really there for the taking yesterday so can't wait for the old firm game!!

Guys when it comes to cheating or misleading in football I am sad to say but it goes on at every level and it is getting worse. Who on this forum thinks Sepp Blatter is an angel and who thinks Plattinis head isn't swayed by politicians.
Even right down to school boy football nowadays were we have 12 year olds diving to get a penalty and it being given then their team-mates pat him or her on the back. We all know the game is not what it was 20 or 30 years ago but with the amounts of money being pumped in and the 24hr coverage in your face it is only going to get worse.
Just give it until Abramovich at Chelsea or any of the other owners who are treating football clubs like toys ship out , then we will see the sad sorry mess that US the die-hard fans that have built our clubs up with gate reciept money, bail out our clubs , I believe it has already started in Scotland and our game is being choked and starved of good players on the park and that ultimately will lead to clubs closing or merging . Im sorry for such a post but as a loyal supporter of our game I dont feel confident we will be watching the game as we now know it in 5 years time. We are the country that educate all the great coaches at Largs ,we are also the country that have had loads of think tanks and politicians trying to help our game and it wont be saved at the tables in Holyrood or council chambers , I believe it will be helped and understood if past players and managers get together and visit works canteens , bothys and building sites and places like this and listen to the folk that count .

Hi Ed and fellow Bhoys, Good result grinded out today keep it going guys. With these type games its just the three points that are the main objective so job done, so well done Lenny and the bhoys. Thought it might have been a good idea to hook Sammy and see what bangura has to offer us but i'm sure well see sooner or later. Hi steph1967 good to see you were missing me, I had to go offshore on a late call up but that's me done until next year ya dancer!! Would also like to wish "Saint Marty" all the best down at Sunderland, you've certainly got your work cut out for you there but if anyone can do it Martin can.

Apparantely the Blackburn owners didn't realise you can get relegated! Quality if true. Have you heard that Ed007. I posted it on the Rangers page and Ed001 has not heard anything. How funny would that be? Lmao.
F {Ed007's Note - It was a rumour going about last season but it was denied by Steve Kean, not that you would expect him or anyone to admit it right enough.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The owners have said they're against the scrapping of relegation...the implication surely being that they know it can happen.

On the subject of Kean I feel sorry for the guy. Had for the most part a nightmare bunch of fixtures to start the season (Spurs, Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal, even in-form Newcastle etc. where he can't necessarily expect to win) and everyone wants rid already.

Needs to win against fellow strugglers and nick points against the Fulhams, Evertons etc... surely winning against top 6 sides can't be their priority. Can't see how the fans can expect to have him sacked seeing as they've mostly finished between the bottom and mid-table for a number of seasons. If any British manager should be sacked it's Craig Brown. {Ed007's Note - Kean has had a year and two transfer windows to change the team around. 6 wins in 34 league games (10 wins in 40 matches overall) and 7 points from 13 matches so far is an atrocious record.}

Wouldn't let any of the old firm play in epl watched the game today shocking football. It was like a Sunday league pub game use could maybe compete in English 2division Gers and yourself are a poor excuse of a football team so get a grip of yourselfs the bold firm rubbish second rate soccer. Stick with your pub league if your happy with that beating the likes of st mirran and your Dunfermline s class overpaid football players and managers are ripping the urine out of yous Spurs season ticket holder

Oh Spurs. I see. One good season on the last 30 years and you come crawling out the woodwork critisizing us. Where were you when the bold firm were in Euro finals and regularly going south and beating various English big guns on their own patch.

Unbelievable arrogance from our English cousin. Such comments are typical from a spoiled and ignorant football league. Scottish teams put a product on the field in relation to our population and finances. I am reluctant to make a political point but now is as good a time as any. The fact that Scottish teams were treated and are treated unfairly in relation to BSKYB A British institution licensed by the British Government is all too often lost. Where can it be fair for Sky to put 10x the money into the English 2nd Division (the Championship) Than it does into The Scottish first division (SPL). Celtic and Rangers and to a lesser extent Hearts Aberdeen and Hibs are British footballing institutions and the lack of respect and demeaning arrogance of Sky and many of the English footballing public is a National British disgrace. Take your comments mate and stick them where the sun dont shine. You are an idiot. {Ed001's Note - actually I think you are showing a touch of arrogance, the Championship is ranked 6th in the world, whereas the SPL is not in the top 10. That is why Sky will happily pay more for a product that viewers want to see, when there are only 4 games a season that anyone outside of Scotland wants to watch. I do agree with your points about English and Sky arrogance though, yes the EPL is the toughest league but it is not the best.}

Agree2 Disagree1

Mate I am not arrogant but I am really pissed off, thanks though for your comments as this is a debate which has been ignored for too long. I do take your point about rankings however the question is why did this happen and who orchestrated the funding. Its obvious that the English Championship 2nd Division is higher than the Scottish SPL first division but was this the case before the big money went to that division instead of the Scottish clubs. I am sticking to my basic point, that this situation its a disgrace and I am sick of having the P*** ripped out of me from fans from lesser clubs with less history who think they are better than us in Scotland. {Ed001's Note - yes it has always been ranked amongst the top leagues in the world. The SPL has slipped due to bad coaching and the decision of managers to opt for the quick fix of a cheap foreigner rather than risking a youngster. It must be remembered that the Football League had their TV funding ripped out from under them and yet the product improved. The problem with the SPL is competitiveness, not money. Celtic and Rangers are just too dominant, unless you are a fan of either there is just no appeal. The attempt made by the SPL to fix the situation was a bodge job of forcing teams to have players under a certain age in the squad. It was not thought out well, it just meant that anyone over the age can't get a game at all.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont agree with your assertion that the England second division has always been better than the Scottish first, however it is clear that England control the money and any amount of arguments and counter arguments about parity, business models good and bad coaches etc etc wont alter my opinion that Scottish clubs gets a bad deal from SKy. Ps very nice reply...Do you work for SKy :) {Ed001's Note - I hate Sky, they are the bane of football, the Championship improved without its money and football was far better before Sky got involved.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I am glad we both have the same dislike for SKY, but surely there was a knock on effect from the money going to the EPL or whatever it was called in the early days. Ultimately IMO there will never be enough money. My general point is about fairness not about whether the money is beneficial. I personally think all clubs should live from their own means ie Gate receipts, football kit sales, catering etc. TV money should only be allowed to be used for things such as stadium development, training facilities and grass roots football development. Football is about competition and unless you are a member and top 5 of an elite league England Spain Germany Italy France Russia to a lesser extent Holland and Portugal then you can forget winning anything in Europe. Its a private club of elite rich clubs powered by TV companies and given credibility by the lesser teams and leagues who prop the whole structure up. Its not as much fun as it used to be. Good Banter Ed 001 thanks for taking the time and making the effort. {Ed001's Note - it is a problem, but the Champions League monies are far more of a problem, imho, they are creating an even bigger imbalance.}

I know it's a bit of a lame excuse but the park was a disgrace 2day same as Inverness a few weeks ago , hard 2 play or even control the ball at times but the bhoys still done the business! . But I'm stll baffled at times why NL is changing team 2 accommodate Brown in the second half I thought loovens and big Dan wer ok apart from one mix up ,Wanyamma and Kayal wer ok in midfield ,if anything needed changed it was up front .samaras was doing his usual and forest was falling out of game .It's only my opinion ............DH

Believable3 Unbelievable1

I am more concerned about our attrocious positioning at throw ins. We consistently loose possesion and do not provide cvover at opposing throw ins.

Agree1 Disagree0

Agree with u ther ,another thing is our corners,free kicks etc into box , we actually played without a player 2day who was left footed , I don't know wer Mulgrew was.But it was left 2 young Matthews to take everything and his deliveries wer terrible .Any other time Ki takes them all and he is crap too .Oh for a Lubo or a Naka............DH

Agree1 Disagree0

I think Charlie Mulgrew's Dads funeral was yesterday. I agree with corner kicks, most of the time we waste them. I wouldn't take anyting away from Matthews though, he's only 19 ~ Mrs E

Agree2 Disagree0

And mrs mulgrew had a baby this morning.congrats charlie bhoy

Agree3 Disagree0

I didn't see forrest falling out of the game, thought he played well today and is progressing nicely, he's definitely getting stronger and having a good season, no doubt about that!

Miko

Agree1 Disagree2

19 Years old is no excuse for Mathews. I was able to kick the ball in the air at 4 years old. Dreadfull corners.

Joeshmo1888

Agree1 Disagree1

Yes I'd agree the corners from Mathews were shocking today but thats why weve got wee jamesy to take over. pitch wise the corners were just shocking esp the one at the end where the tunnel is. I thought Jamesy (again) kayal and Wanyama (gets better every week) had an excellent game, I think if Wanyama keeps going the way he is they'll be a queue of EPL teams looking to snap him up. We certainly have a nack of finding great unknown players who come and prove they're class players, just get a couple for the Center back position and i'll be happy as larry!! Mon the Hoops.
CB67

Agree1 Disagree0

Joeshmo...I did agree the corners are abysmal & have been for a while no matter who takes them. I like Matthews and think he's got some real potential.

PS - I do know 4 yrs olds and younger can kick a ball in the air. I have a broken house to show for it... ~ Mrs E

Agree1 Disagree0

The corner kick debacle is pretty shocking for a team of Celtics stature. Individual players are lacking of course but finger pointing is unhelpful. I think our coaching staff should also be hanging their heads in regards to this. Maybe I am spoiled. I remember Lubo whipping them in with such pace and accuracy it was truly frightening for any defence. Of course Chris Sutton was often there glancing them in from the near post...Happy days. Top teams score a goal from a corner is it one in 4 or 5?? So we should be aiming for whatever that figure is.

ED007 just saw FA Cup draw. City v United what are your thoughts. Will both take it seriously and play full teams or play second string? I would imagine Fergie will be wanting revenge for 6-1 thrashing at Old Trafford. Cannot wait for this game on TV. LOL Timalloy {Ed007's Note - I think both teams will want to win it. It's a derby and the FA cup is still a respected trophy. City will not want Utd to knock them out at the first hurdle of their defence of the it.}

Afternoon ED007, just back from nice lunch in pub, coupled with Celtic game on TV, good first half by the bhoys. In first minute Sammy did not need to hit ball so hard across goal, gave Stokes no chance getting on to it. Well worked goal between Hooper and Forrest. Young Forrest had another good game but just needs more composure in front of goal. Wanyama and Kayal look a good formation in midfield. Tannadice always a hard place to come so I will will take one goal victory and a clean sheet.
Steph67 I am always about, just choosing when and where to post these days. hail hail Timalloy
PS Sad news about Socrates, he WAS a player RIP

Just another quick post at half time. We started the game with urgency which has died off hopefully another goal is to follow. I know I've said it already but Kayal and Wanyama are our best to central midfielders. Ki has been terrible for the last couple of months and if we got 5 million I would jump at the chance. At the moment I can't see were Scott Brown fits in to the squad. Samaras has been playing well which by all means doesn't mean we should keep him. But as a coach Neil should be playing players who are playing well and getting results. Final point I've seen on a few forums giving points about Forrest not helping his fullback out well he's obviously had a talking to because at one point he was playing fullback while Cha was injuried!

Chad

Believable0 Unbelievable0

How much did ki cost ? Don't think he can cope when things are down but when we're doing good he's good. The brown thing right now don't see where he fits in, love kayal reminds me of Lennon (footballer wise on the park) but think he will be away when the 1st offer comes in for him from a half decent team. Noticed that aswell during the week he never helped the defender but he's young lad so he will learn.

All the same mon the hoops
Lenny

Agree0 Disagree1

Forrest's a winger..an outside right ! Jimmy Johnstone - our greatest player ever, did not help out full backs (not that i'm making comparisons). Some folk are way too critical. Same with this Scott Brown stuff, time to get behind our Captain. ~ Mrs E

Agree5 Disagree0

Afternoon Mrs E, good result today, we now have 3 of next 4 games at Celtic Park including gers. Quietly confident of being top of league by january. I agree young Forrest is a player, but just needs more composure in front of goal, but we are getting our form back at right time.
Hail hail Timalloy

Agree3 Disagree1

To my mind Lennon and Kyal are different. Lennon read the game as well as anyone I ever saw, Kyal is a lot more mobile and uses this quality to cover the ground. Does anyone remember the Ajax game at CP we lost 1-0 but Lennon and Lambert killed the game with a world class performance of defensive midfield play the likes of which I have never seen since or before. We went through due to our amazing 3-1 at the Ajax Arena. Fond memories.....
