Ed have you heard anything about ibrox getting shut because they have not been allocated a safety certificate due to the very poor state of the stadium? {Ed007's Note - They have a current safety certificate, it was issued a while back.}

ED007: Seems that the council have been informed that a problem has been discovered by a contractor.I would guess under duty of care they would have to tell H&S and on it went to the council. You had a sniff?. green jhedi {Ed007's Note - The contractor would have to approach the person who signed off the company's H&S policy, (it is usually signed by the most senior member of staff), they would have to carry out a Risk Assessment, it all gets a bit bogged down in paperwork after this.
If a 'whistleblower' tips of the HSE, they would arrive on the company's doorstep themselves and unannounced to investigate the complaint and carry out their own Risk Assessment.
I don't know why the council would be involved in anything other than providing the actual certificate. HSE has more power than the council in such matters. Failure to adhere to HSE regs. can lead to criminal charges.}

Went on to the official tribute act rangers site last night when I was at work to see the McMoist rant and the highlights of the mighty forfars goals. But before you could watch any video there was an advert to watch first and as you would expect it was another own goal. the advert was for a video game where it showed a load of orcs smashing up everything pure comedy gold considering the site I was on

For me it would be Europa winning any European cup would be some achievement considering you would have to beat teams who drop out of champs league group stage ie man city Chelsea considering the ££ they spend

It seems that there is more sevco related problems due to leak out in the next week or so. This will leave all Celtic fans with a huge problem.Choices will have to be made.Big decisions will need to be formulated and acted on. We have faced this challenge before, but I don't think any of us were prepared for it to come around again so soon. Just what flavour of jelly and ice cream is the best for phase two (snigger) of the sevco implosion!. green jhedi

Hi ed and regulars to here been an avid reader for long time think a lot of posts are very honest even though we got this club ingrained in our heart.what are your thoughts on a new striker stokes I think will come good if we get a finisher beside him.still think we have to give balde time remember Larson v hibs sorry for long post first time Alan mac

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Im not Stokes biggest fan but the boy scores goals. At times I feel he could be more direct, and play within the width of the 18 yard box instead he seems to drift wide and put crosses in often with no one there. I hope Balde can be a good foil for him and we get in another striker to challenge for a starting spot. I can see Samaras playing through the centre with borreigter and Forrest wide in European games. I would give Stokes a new deal as long as he is not looking for silly money. For me he's not proved he's a 20 grand a week player, yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks for reply I think Lennon is trying to do what o, Neil done with a 3.5.2 I think samaras will play in behind two strikers just like Sutton was.two wing backs and Ledley brown in midfield.up top I think le fondre would be good foil for stokes

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely commons has to play in behind the strikers with Sammy and boriggter on the wings.

If the newspapers are true then McColl's move is same old dodgyness we've come to expect of SEVCO.

McColl we are told is putting forward P Murray. This guy is banned for five years under the regs. McColl and Murray know this status. So where's the honesty and integrity there? Trying to shoehorn a banned tainted guy from the SDM downfall era.

Is it another shameful case where the SFA (Campbell Ogilvie, mates and former SDM director) has given them the nod and wink he'll let P Murray usurp the regs?

McColl seems to think its not a problem, same old dirty tricks as usual in my book down Govan way. Nothing fresh honest and new from this guy.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Has McColl actually said he is involved? I don't think I have seen a direct quote from him or anyone naming him.I know a couple of of guys who have had dealings with him and by all accounts he is a thoroughly decent bloke. green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

I was just catching up with other games from yesterday and read McCoist statement after the game again.

35,000 bums in seats at ibrox.say £350 a ST on average that's 10.5m. Would be a good time to paper the cracks up with season ticket money?

Just think of McCoist vs Lennon so far.

Lennon wins the league x 2
Wins 2 cups
Does a run in Europe last 16

McCoist loses a 18 point lead.
Hasn't had a run in any domestic or European cups.
Wins division 3 title.
Loses at the 1st hurdle of a domestic cup.
Feel free to add

As far as i'm aware outwith the ramsdens cup sally only won 1 cup game and that was against arbroath who actually got a goal chopped off and blatant penalty not given at 0 0 and that was with oldco

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic are a massive well funded international club.
Why we would be interested in Boyd is beyond most.

Agree0 Disagree0

Boyd no

McFadden . he clearly has something and has played at the top level. Can conjure goals out of nothing against the top defences (france for example). does he still have it? Might have been worth a gamble

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2013 09:33:38
mcfaddens goal against france was a hit and hope from about 40 yards!

no defence would have stopped him, forfar or france, it was a good strike, but no matter who the defence were it didn't matte,

so let's put all of this "faddy tore the french to bits" garbage to bed,

mcfadden is no better than commons and or stokes in my opinion

Willie Collum is a massive Celtic fan. The reason I know this is because he worked (maybe still does) as a Religious Education teacher at Cardinal Newman high school. My cousin was taught by him and was actually surprised that Collum is allowed to referee Celtic games because he is such a big fan of the club. So he may have had a few bad games involving Celtic, but please stop saying he is "anti-Celtic" because that's not the case at all.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Go away willie yer fooling no one

Agree0 Disagree0

He taught me R.E at st ambrose high in Coatbridge, is a Celtic man, shocking referee tho, L1888

Agree0 Disagree0

Just because he is an RE teacher or has told the kids he's a celtic man, doesn't mean his head hasn't been turned by his fellow Freends.

remember guys like burley etc where on the payroll of celtic, yet turned at the "saxon shilling".

if gollum, was as bad as he looks and was a celtic man he'd most certainly be demoted,

either we all know nothing about football or mr C, is part of the bigger problem!

We have known for ages that Wanyama and Hooper would be leaving, yet we haven't got any replacements in. Yesterdays game was screaming out for a Striker that was good in and around the box. If we had one of these then we'd have been out of sight after an hour. Better get people in quick, or are we waiting to see if we qualify for group stages to make us look more appealing to players?

Samson

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I know we need another striker but I thought we were a bit unlucky yesterday. Commons, Mulgrew both hit the woodwork and Stokes could have had 4 goals, not counting our new signings (Derk) chances in the first half hour. Am more worried about Ambrose who seems to panic a bit.

not happy that lennon only getting a years rolling contract.
the board and lennon say its a long term project at celtic then let's see the commitment from everybody.
I would rather see a long term manager for the long haul so everbody new and old no its always lennon & Celtics way.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

04 Aug 2013 13:01:44
Rolling contracts are quite normal for managers these days as far as I remember was martin oneill not on a rolling contract as well

Agree0 Disagree0

It's a good performance driven strategy.

Long term relationship, short term rolling contracts.

Makes sense for both parties. Imagine he had four years, turned crap and we had to fork out three years salary to buy him out?

Or he has to buy his contract out to move to EPL to further his career? We wouldn't wish to hold Lenny back.

Agree0 Disagree0

Highest paid manager in Scotland now, Sally's on 1.2 million but lennons worth it and deserves it IMO. I wish we'd give him a 6 year contract beng honest he's only going to get better and he's already good. Gandalf the green

I take nothing from Lennon but I wish Sally was still the highest paid, I really do.

Stokes got 2 goals today. playing right up front he will score more than Hooper. Hooper got nothing but praise but Stokes was putting the ball on his toe half the time. Just look at Hoopers drought after January last season until who came back from injury? Stokes. People should support our players.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

People keep saying tony stokes scored 2 goals he is the man give him a break every person on this site knows he is a gr8 spfl player get u 20+ goals a season but he isn't good enough for champions league and we all know it I love the guy he bleeds green blood but need a real finisher in ASAP

Dumbo, dumb and dumber.
another cup another bummer.
his famous one liner he regrets more by the day.

"we don't do walking away"

Mr Green of these three beware,
their from the west and don't scare.
though their cup runs appalling
theres no need to go bawling,
its no their fault, as explained in the papers today

but no enough clarity from the eejits at the sfa.

Well pleased to get all three points yesterday after a sluggish start. While realising the Ross County goal changed our starting tempo a bit I felt we pretty much controlled the rest of the game, and got stronger as the game went on.

At their goal I felt that Forster might have been at fault, but not having seen any TV on it I will reserve judgement. Having said that he did give it a right lash.so I am probably wrong. Where I am right however is the Stokes penalty call.Stonewaller for me.He was beyond the defender who barged into his back with wee Willie three yards from it.There was also a Commons off side call that was wrong, he had timed his run to perfection, that seems to have been missed.

Ambrose continues to be a worry. In pretty much every game he will give the opposing team at least one chance to hurt us.This needs to be addressed quickly as on the Swedes artificial pitch he could damage us beyond repair.I also thought Broony and Ledley were terrific.Grafted the whole game and always looked to drive us on.Stokes done okay.Very alert for the first goal and showed at the second what he is capable of, despite Guidi claiming it was a 'scrambled' shot.I thought he made space really well and fired it where the keeper would struggle deliberately!

Then there was big Derk.Started really brightly and could, maybe even should, have had a couple of goals he looks very pacey and direct and whipped in a couple of great crosses, which if Hooper had been there would have been goals ironically. The fact he slipped in to the central striking position a couple of times also impressed me.We might have a good one there. green jhedi

Believable0 Unbelievable0

GJ . My main worry is the left back position . Izzy just can't defend . He actually lost a 50/50 tackle that led to their goal . He really needs competition for his place . You mentioned Ambrose but I felt a lot safer with Charlie playing alongside him as I think that Wilson is another accident waiting to happen . He is the only centre half I've seen in 43 years watching Celtic who doesn't go up for a corner . DH

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye totally agree, big deek looks like a real quality signing. Can't wait to see him play a full 90 mins so we can all get a right good look at the bhoy.

Darrenbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

@DH: Good point mate.Izzy has become a weak link and teams know this, as they mostly try to work our left when they break.I find it strange we don't have cover there when we need to defend as his natural game is to go and get involved.Maybe if big Derk kicks on he might not have to go so far up the pitch. green jhedi
