Alright guys, my first post but I've been following the site for ages. I was pleased to hear Rodgers praising McGregor and touting him for a place in the national squad, as I've always thought he has good potential, and uses the ball well in the middle of the park. Still only 23, if he keeps making progress and becomes more clinical attacking the final third, next season he could become a more important player the way Armstrong has this season. Rodgers seems to rate him. Have seven Celtic players ever started for a Scotland team before?

{Ed007's Note - Welcome to the site mate, it's always nice to see new posters. I've been saying mostly the same as you about McGregor, I've never understood the stick he takes by some of the fans. He would walk into any other team in Scotland so I'm happy to see him playing in the league and cups for us, he can play in a number of positions and you know he'll give you 100% no matter where he plays. Who knows how good he could be if he kicks-on like Armstrong has.
He's also part of that wee group of quality young Scottish players (and Paddy hopefully) we've got which can only help breed a strong camaraderie in the squad.}

Cheers Ed, it was Rodgers comment about his attitude never wavering that stood out to me. It's a good trait to have. As for paddy, he seems to have bonded with that group like you say, and I think he personaly would like to be here for another season at least, but whether his agent and those advising him see it the same way is another matter. Hopefully though, because he is another who I think could be even better next season if he does hang around.

he should sign permenently for celtic, what's the alternative? going back down south and getting loaned out to preston or a team of that ilk? or play CL football at a massive club like celtic?

I agree with all comments in this thread. McGregor is improving and can only get better with more game time. As for Roberts? All he has to do is talk to Scott Sinclair about Man City's depth of playing squad and below. I fear he would get lost in that malaise and end up at some championship team in a couple of years with anonymity.

And welcome to the group, isleofgreen.

Just my two pence worth but for me this season has been top drawer.
Quality football, dominating attacking football and playing as a team.
Improvements across the board and a lot of dross cleared out.
A big thanks to all those involved in the club for the changes, fingers crossed we got more to come.
Last season was a hard watch at times but this season has been a joy.
Thanks to the fans in the stands for the songs and the style
Hail hail.

there was a few 1-0 wins ground out but that is the mark of champions. Getting results when half the team fail to turn up but the other half step up. A great season and a better one next season if we can keep the players.

It would appear that BR wants a quality no 10 to add that extra something for the CL would anyone like to put some names forward. Given that he would have to be under £12million accept less than 35/ 40k per week in wages and be under 26 as i believe that to be about our limit.
My three in no order Ziyech, Tileimans and Cairney.
I see some people are still having a go at Forrest for his inconsistancy. All wingers are inconsistant even SS was being touted for a rest 2 weeks ago that is the nature of the position. Leave the lad alone leave.

I'd take Tielmans in a heartbeat but he's supposed to be going to the EPL for megabucks is he not? BR did say quality over quantity so hopefully a couple who can walk into the startin XI. Hopefully we can get a ST, RW, CAM and CB in the summer.

No chance for Tielemans.

Both great shouts imo and two of my picks. Tielemans being my top pick. Thorgan Hazard, Ante Coric, Paulo Fernandez, Brahim Diaz are other players I like the look of and think we might have half a chance with.

I'd also like us to sign a RAM. There's no more harm in wanting a bew RAM than there is a new no.10.

should've kept johannsen imo, would have run amok in the 10 position i think, got christie to come back also, like the look of knockeart ( excuse spelling) if roberts goes.

its a wee lubo type playmaker im dying to see in the hoops, even if we have to shell out a few million for him, we have never replaced the wee man since he left.
