You'll need to change your name to "balboa95" you jump more threads than a boxer with a speed rope šŸ˜.
Glad this has kicked in as i'll be able to record the game before going to work. The only thing i found earlier today was a guy on the virgin media q and a section asking when he could see more of rangers "the biggest team in scotland". Great wee reply below saying "i think you mean the newest team in scotland pal"

Why the hatred, they were the better team by miles, and but for (if I remember correctly) a sub who wasnā€™t properly registered, they got thrown out, and we got humped again in the next round.

Agree2 Disagree0

For one they tried to blame us for them getting thrown out. Said a good few nasty things about our club.

I remember their chairman coming out and saying that Celtic wouldnā€™t talk to him on the phone etc, and saying that he was a Celtic supporter and was disappointed and thought we should have pulled out the tourney, but to me it was frustration that a secretary has ballsed up player registration, we would have been as angry mate.

O see the Daily Ranger is focussing on our pitiful away record in Europe to give us a boost. They know that if we make the group stages and the bag of gold we will bury their team and are trying anything to prevent that happening.

We must live in the only country in Europe whose press don't want to be represented at the top table, unless it's the Loan Stars.

It's always been that way - and long, long, long may it continue, we are a very unique, extremely successful and world famous club - despite the negative and disruptive media, the cheating, devious establishment and the conveyor belt of honest mistake merchants.

So to be serious again after all the Ashley shenanigans.
I wish Brown would leave all the pre match boasting to the sevconians. The Rosenburg game tomorrow will be difficult, especially away from home, Celtic always do things the hard way, no tomorrow is not a given, do our talking on the pitch, win the tie and then sound off.

I know we all thought this ship had sailed, however anybody think thereā€™s a chance we may see Paddy Roberts back?

Heā€™s saying he hasnā€™t spoken to guardiola so obviously knows now heā€™s not in his plans. So surely if the English window closes and heā€™s still there, heā€™d rather come back to Celtic than rot in cityā€™s reserves?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

31 Jul 2018 10:29:49
No think we are better leaving wee paddy be. He clearly doesn't see his future at CP. We have enough in this area now imo. Would rather spend the money strengthening elsewhere in the squad.

31 Jul 2018 11:02:09
I would love to sign Paddy but have accepted that ship has sailed.

Or has it? :)

No, it has.

Are you sure?

Yes, shut up and think about something else.

Really? Not even a chance?

So youā€™re telling me thereā€™s a chance šŸ˜‚. If the wee fellla hasnā€™t moved on from City come August 9th itā€™s time to bring him home. I appreciate he was hoping for a move to another premiership team but not everything in life plays out the way you want it. What is clear and has been for some time is he has no future with city. Time to come home Paddy youā€™ll be welcomed with open arms šŸ€.

Guy's im sorry but he just wouldn't even get a game now. Any one of you who would drop Forrest now needs to get a grip. I know he was injured but Paddy did hee haw last year.

Agree2 Disagree1

31 Jul 2018 13:01:47
Paddy is better than Forrest all day long. He was injured most of the time. Forrestā€™s form after Christmas fell away. Anybody who thinks Forrest is a better player obviously failed to notice his dip in form.

Im nit denying Forrest has improved but letā€™s be honest he had been an imposter for too long. Itā€™s about time he got his arse in gear.

Agree1 Disagree3

31 Jul 2018 13:27:26
Just my opinion . But like denyar, guedetti and many others before? He thinks the grass is greener . A good player but will end up a journeyman in the lower doldrums of English football. All this, maybe one day? Sorry no one is bigger than our club and we are no longer a last option for players in their later years. Thanks for the memories paddy.

31 Jul 2018 13:36:36
Paddy is a much better footballer than Forrest. No argument.

Agree1 Disagree1

31 Jul 2018 14:47:26
I agree with most of the above, he could have stayed if he wanted to - and if the manager wanted him of course?
I always felt that although he was the more gifted and skillful of the two, BR somehow preferred Forrest's over all game - even though he does drift in and out of seasons, he is still a big game player.
Roberts could have had his own fan-club, song and supporters club named after him here lol, as he is the type of entertainer we have always loved at Celtic; however, he thinks he can do better and although I wish him well, how many have left us and faded away.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jul 2018 15:45:51
I just don't get the whole 'had his chance' argument. Unlike Denayer and Guidetti, he had nothing but good things to say about our club. Not everybody grows up a Celtic fan. There will be a few members of the current team that will want to move on eventually. So PR is testing the water now, I say so what. If he's good enough (which he is) and would give his all (I think he would) then that would be enough for me.

Agree3 Disagree0

31 Jul 2018 18:05:46
He done nothing last season and all his problems lay at not having a decent pre season a bit like this pre season for him last pre season he traveled to America pre season with Man City reserves and I donā€™t think he ever got on. Heā€™s openly said he wants to try his luck down south so good luck to the boy but we are Celtic we shouldnā€™t be anyoneā€™s last resort.

Agree1 Disagree1

31 Jul 2018 18:26:51
I cannot sleep at night with nightmares of Paddy Roberts lowering himself to play for Celtic . After contributing next to nothing last season, he was clearly unhappy that Brendan didn't bring him on for the final minutes of the Cup Final, to show his talents when game was won .
We don't need a player like Paddy Roberts, even if you think he can contribute to Celtic, he obviously believes he deserves better,
I wouldn't stand in either his way or Denayer's.

Agree0 Disagree1

31 Jul 2018 18:52:55
Anybody who thinks that James Forrest is a better player than Paddy seriously need their head looking at and old man Chris I reckon itā€™s time for your meds mate.

Agree1 Disagree1

31 Jul 2018 19:50:54
Clearly brendan Rodgers feels Forrest is a more rounded player than paddy does he need his head examined? Paddy loved his time here some of his play is genius but I feel in the modern game the tricky wee winger is a redundant thing of the past. Now a days itā€™s thorough bred athletes managers look for who are physically imposing have pace and stamina not somebody who has super glue on there boot as if the balls stuck to it. I fear paddy just wonā€™t make it to the very top as not an athletic type of winger. Would we pay the cash if he became available I doubt it? I would rather our defence strengthened first.

Agree0 Disagree1

31 Jul 2018 20:11:09
I donā€™t think Brendan rated Forrest more than Paddy. Forest had a good start to the season then did his normal disappearing act. Paddy was injured for the most part of the season. When both were fit during the invincible season Forrest didnā€™t get a look in.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jul 2018 20:26:20
I spoke to someone who knows about paddy. Before anyone says, no relation or friend of a friend. He used to work at Man Utd looking after the young kids making sure they werenā€™t homesick etc. Was speaking to him at a social event. He still keeps in contact with loads in the game. He says Paddy is talking to 2 championship sides about a move but heā€™s not keen. One was Swansea. He Wants a premier league team but none are coming in for him yet. If he canā€™t get a premier league team then he would prefer a move back to Celtic but not on loan. Would have to be permanent. Only telling you what this guy said so donā€™t shoot me down for it šŸ˜‚ No idea if Celtic would be willing to buy him or not.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jul 2018 20:43:24
He said today that he wouldn't rule out another stint at Celtic.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jul 2018 21:56:31
There is not a shadow of doubt that James Forrest is a far better Celtic player than Paddy Roberts, don't take my word, just check who Brendan picked the most when both were fit . I understand that some people think that a player from England has to be better than a Scottish player, but Celtic have been blessed to have Forrest even though., some of our fans gave him a real hard time, he has been a stand- out since Brendan joined.

Agree1 Disagree3

31 Jul 2018 22:41:29
In order to make Forrest a better player though does he not need competion? Paddy would provide that. I think the Forrest we seen now is partly due to him having to work harder to keep Paddy out the team when he was here.

With 10 or 11 new players and a rookie manager, it is impossible for them to play consistently well. It's not that they have been signing top players as they have concentrated on waifs and strays.

We will sign McGINN IN THE January window for FREE as he is Europa cup tied for the Champions league as he has played in the Europa league, Hayes, Allen Christie will be sent out on loan but not at Hibs.

Ed, to your understanding, what is the club's stance on Moose staying here another season on his current contract?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I know the Club wanted to speak with Dembele's representatives about an extension but I've no idea if they were open to talks. I'd take a guess that if he isn't planning on moving this window the Dembele camp would be happy enough just keeping things as they are and going into the final year next summer.
The good thing is the English window closing early and Celtic would fight tooth and nail to keep him until our European fate (like McGinn at Hibs) which hopefully isn't decided by the 9th August.}

31 Jul 2018 10:48:50
I wake up most mornings hoping to see the news the Moos has extended his contract. The others Iā€™m hungover and more concerned with surviving the morning.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jul 2018 09:14:00
Ed. Is that not a bit risky on celtics part if heā€™s going into his final year? His price would drop dramatically. Will we get him on another contract before we get to that stage. Cheers.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - So you think we should sell Dembele this window?}

31 Jul 2018 15:19:13
Iā€™d imagine getting another excellent season out of him is a win-win for all parties. Weā€™d get another 25+ goals and weā€™d still get a reasonable fee for him, plus heā€™d be going into his last year so at a cut price there would be teams all over Europe lining up to take him.
