Is no one prepared to give Ajer a chance? He is a CM is he not. How did Tierney become a first team regular. by being given a chance. So what if Ajer isn't a big name, So what if he didn't cost £5m, So what if he is only 18. Maybe the player everyone is screaming for is already at CP.

I was really looking forward to seeing him in the team. hopefully he gets a chance soon.

01 Sep 2016 00:42:09
Just like when we signed wanyama.
Bhoy Ajer stood out a mile against inter Milan.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Remember Ajer is still a kid at a new club in a new country, it's a completely different circumstances from Tierney and after the supports treatment of Janko why risk him playing and making a mistake? His Celtic career could be over before it got started. It was only a few weeks ago there were people on here lambasting young O'Connell after a clatty friendly!}

01 Sep 2016 01:23:18
were there folks on here 'lambasting young O'Connell'? Everyone seems to have embraced him, as his performanecs have deserved. Love the idea of him and Lustig at CB.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - The site has a search function.}

01 Sep 2016 08:02:38
I was gutted about the janko treatment myself ed, plenty moaned to "give the kid a chance" and when given one and didn't perform he got slaughtered.

Its little wonder we don't produce a lot of homegrown player's.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Sep 2016 02:31:09
Ajer is a different breed. I genuinely believe he plays football for the enjoyment, not financial reasons. Heard stories he is studying to be a doctor. Perhaps its a case he will part time feature till he qualifies. ED007 what do you think?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - His studies won't affect his footballing career, doesn't it take 6 years minimum to become a doctor? Stuart Armstrong's training to be a lawyer and that's not interfered with his career.}

31 Aug 2016 20:57:18
Read that the manager said no more signings ED! What u hearing bud? Uve been quiet mate lol.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - There was just nothing to say mate.}

31 Aug 2016 22:58:54
A few cries for a "creative midfielder" what's wrong with Rogic? Done well so far this season. Always needed a run of games and he has took his chance well.

De Vries will be like Dembele, just needs a few games to settle. In general we have a stronger team to build on.

CL we have tough group, but i don't think its all doom and gloom. Europe at times is a case of best team on the night. Its hard to truly judge a team by their signings. Think we have good chance against Borussia Monchengladbach. don't know why but feel confident of home win.

But never mention the 30 mil we've made this year again.

If you'd told me 3 months ago that come August Brendan Rodgers would be our manager and we'd have players like Kolo, Sinclair and Dembele I'd have thought you were off your head!

Make no mistake, this has been a fantastic summer for us.

Yes we should be disappointed that we haven't signed anyone today and yes we could be doing with a centre mid, but Rome wasn't built in a day. We have addressed the vast majority of our weaknesses in only one window. Its a terrific start to Rodgers tenure.

8/ 10 I'd give our business. A centre mid and more deadwood out would have been nice. I'd take this type or Summer every time that's for sure! Hope its a sign of things to come.

Bring on the rangers and bring on the barca! HH.

Very strange that we are not even being mentioned . If we are not to have anymore incoming I would most certainly be expecting snips of folk leaving! In Rodgers we trust 🍀 I think there will be a late signing . After 11 👍🏻.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

31 Aug 2016 22:45:01
Not now Bazaoke, I'd say we're finished in this window. Our deals were done before today and whilst there may have been a few possibilities this morning they haven't materialised for one reason or another. That's football I suppose HH.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 22:49:30
I think you may be right,15 mins to go in england, Everton must be really pissed about sissoko, maybe we left an offer on the table and if the window closes there, then we might be in.

Agree0 Disagree1

31 Aug 2016 21:52:26
I think if we hadn't signed anyone this window until today, and then on deadline day we signed dembele, Sinclair, toure and de vries the fans would've been ecstatic. so why do so many people seem so upset. The whole deadline day farce is just so EPL idiots spend 32 million on folk like moussa sissoko.

Believable4 Unbelievable3

31 Aug 2016 22:48:49
I agree completely u actually saved me from making an identical status! We have improved our squad drastically! Apart from effe still being here it's been a good window lol Rodgers will need time to make more changes I even believe bitton will become a much better player under Rodgers but I know most will disagree.

Stay up in hope or go to bed?
This is how I see it. Happy with the changes and how we look set to dominate the spl and what we have brought in so far. BUT really disappointed in how much we have invested this was a big chance to give the support what they have been wanting and needing. A thank you if nothing else to say thanks for sticking by us while you have watched rubbish football for the last few years. I'll still be there every game but it could and should have been that little bit more exciting for us faithful fans today hail hail.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

31 Aug 2016 22:32:56
It's so disappointing when we are in such a strong financial position, having the CL funds and the cash from transfers out; but we decide to tackle the challenges from Europe's elite unprepared.
The team is losing goals left right and centre against all opponents and we do not strengthen or improve with any conviction (De Vries and Toure are short term at best) , while the coveted creative midfield player looks likely to be McGregor with a James McCarthy mask?

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 22:41:33
Hope? You better get on the blower to Obi-wan. To quote ". your my only hope"

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 21:47:38
Here we go again. Window licking and taking the piss. Leaking to the press who we are not getting. raising expectations and then having them dashed. McGregor Brown and Bitton for the champions league equals an embarrassing "nil points". If that happens the 52000 season ticket holders should say enough is enough. Celtic is not to be run for PL and DD and a wee £1 Million pound bonus for Brendan. Celtic needs to be about the fans the supporters. A nett outlay of F*** all is not the answer. Oh and the rumour is there are no rumours.

Believable4 Unbelievable3

31 Aug 2016 22:20:19
Your post is the same as all the other posts at exactly the same time each transfer window "all the season ticket holders should do this or that" they will do nothing and keep turning up and keep buying more so why even bother.

Agree1 Disagree1

31 Aug 2016 22:28:14
Calm down Fatbhoy we should not pay over the odds for anyone. BR will say who he wants and who he needs. We have enough for the league and maybe a cup, we can enjoy the Champions League as much as we can then we qualify next year with a bit of an easier group and have a bit more dish for a fresh assault. In Brendan we should Trust, Hail Hail.

English deadline is 11pm Scottish is 12am are we waiting to see what's left?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

31 Aug 2016 21:35:15
I can't believe I've sat watching and waiting from 9am for nothing. Some people are saying let's build over a few Windows which is all well abs good but we know fine well we don't build, we sell as soon as anyone is good enough to command a big fee. We have moved on or loaned out 15 players and signed 5. By my calculations we have a net spend of zilch and no increase in wage bill. That is despite £30m guaranteed minimum CL money, a reported £7.5m from Champions Cup, 52k season tickets and record sponsorship deals with Dafabet and Magners.
Considering all this and the difficult CL we got you would think PL would have pushed the boat out. It is clear we have a manager who knows a player so if we were ever going to spend money then it would be now.
Can't help feel that we the fans and BR have been badly let down. Not a happy bhoy this evening which annoys me all the more considering how positive I have felt about the club and team since BR's arrival.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

31 Aug 2016 22:12:19

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 22:53:04
Totally agree Marty. Can't believe the supporters can't see this as a total let down. The money has been rolling the past few years with 10s of millions coming in and a pittance going out! Fair enough we did not need to spend big without rangers in the league but where has that money went. I was sure they had a plan to go big when they came back up! seasons ticket sales and record sponsorship and 20+ million CL money . Shocking!

I'm confused.
Simunovic passes a stringent medical and agrees personal terms but the deal is still off. I can only imagine a fee was agreed and how it should be paid between us and Torino BEFORE the player went to Italy. I am failing to see how it fell apart.
Please enlighten me. HH.

Torino wanted it as a years loan with option to buy celtic wanted straight transfer apparently?

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 21:53:47
Be interesting to see what actually went on with this deal. Did simonovic want to leave? Was he pushed along to move on? I think if this boy can get 100% fit he'll have something to offer our team. Would sooner see ambrose and a few others out the door before him.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 21:55:33
Bob talk of fluid on the knee being a concern also talk of a marginal pass in the medical ( if there is such a thing)

Torino going along the lines of try before you buy and tried to renegotiate deal PL never bought it JS returns to us and is what my take on it is

PM stuck to his guns so good on him as far as I am concerned 👍.

Looks like the support is split over the transfer window.

For me the 'marquee' was Brendan rodgers followed by Sinclair.

Let the team build and build over the next few Windows.

We have qualified for the top competition (In Some peoples eyes) and we should walk the league and hopefully pump the other team in Glasgow along the way.

Be positive bhoys, we are on the up.

I am not bothered about a marquee signing but I do think we should have got atleast 1 more player in a midfielder would have been nice.

Agree2 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 21:44:00
Forget the word "marquee", we needed the club to spend significantly on a couple of players who would go straight into the first 11. That has not happened despite unprecedented £ coming into the club this season.
Taking account of players leaving, coming in I'd be very interested if someone such as Ed could shed some light on what exactly the figures look like.
I accept we're better placed than the team last year but not exactly difficult to achieve.
Fans are upset as they again see overspend on their part and not matched by the club. It's difficult to temper expectations at this time of yr but when we constantly hear PL tell us the CL money isn't budgeted for then it leaves a sour taste in mouth. That coupled with friendly money, high ST sales, where's it going?

Just get the feeling these tranfer windows are a way of getting some mass hysteria going about the need to bring in some marquee signings, (whatever they are) , but the dumb and dumber element of the support seem to crave these 'marguee'signings, if somebody isn't getting transferred for more millions than ever before and isn't getting paid an obscene salary, then obviously, he ccant be any good, Torre Andre Flo anyone?, and before anyone says it, I can spell' marquee'any way I like, we have (I think) , s proper manager this year, unlike last year, when we had you know, we have enough quality in our squad of players to cause a real shock in the CL, can't believe some of the comments because we haven't bought some overrated prima donna.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 22:25:21

Toure
Sinclaire
De veris all started the last game.
Dembele has played in almost every game since he arrived?

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 23:28:42
My point is post qualifying.
These signings are made surely on the words of PL "not budgeting for CL", so I ask again where is this money going?
Ed, can you you approximate the ins/ outs inc salary this summer?
How do you feel things have gone?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'll try and sort something out tomorrow mate. I'm disappointed and very surprised that we didn't strengthen today and I guess Rodgers stuck to his guns over the Man City loans. I thought at the very least we'd bring in a midfielder on a permanent deal and a striker on loan. No wonder it was difficult to find anything out today, there really wasn't much happening at all.}

31 Aug 2016 20:56:02

Sick hearing people say we will never get out of that group what difference does spending £££ mean.

Well first it's not about how much you spend but who you scout and buy.

The point is not the amount but the positions we need filled which we are clearly weak in like the centre of the park.

Also Strachan got to last 16 with Telfer, Caldwell, McManus, Naylor in defence and didn't spend £300m.

Good teams don't have to be superstars. Also strengthening our side will help us domestically as well not just in Europe.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

31 Aug 2016 23:33:56
We are soft our CM/ CDM area doesn't have a ball winner and when you throw in the passing ability of Mcgregor, Brown, Armstrong, Bitton when under pressure we are going to be under the cosh for 90 mins and with teams like Barca, City and Gladbach think some of us fear an embarrassment in potentially every game. Still we are much better off than the start of the season and if all results go to in our favour we could actually qualify with 6 points.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 20:23:42
Seems like we are settling for the league and a 4th place finish in our CL group.

Overall quite happy with the business done in the window but like we all predicted the outgoings have held us back a bit. I would have liked to see a few more go but with a few in the last year of their contract (Izaguirre, Ambrose, Commons) it is going to be a 2 or 3 windows before we see a real BR team.

A champions league finalist, a right back who has played at the world cup, a winger who once cost 8 million and a striker who was wanted by spurs and we get him for peanuts and a manager who has led our team into the CL for the first time in 3 years with a team that isn't even his. Some people can never be happy.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 20:20:15
I would have liked to see mccarthy signed, long term, as I think he would improve us and could replace brown/ biton.

However, I am not overly fussed that we aren't signing a handful of players today as we still have a large squad so the more loan deals and marque stands that's we sign will just push youngsters further back in the queue.

we have qualified for CL. the money is in the bank, would an extra 2/ 3 players give us a better chance? i'd like to see the players we currently have given the chance to prove themselves over the coming season.

Unless we are moving on armstrong, mcgregor, biton, efe, boyata, ciftci I don't see the need for too many more players.

My major gripe is that we didn't spend bigger in a replacement for gordon. Apart from that, a new CM would be great if he is better than brown/ biton but we have a healthy squad so let's take a bit of time and sign the right players whilst letting our own youth get a proper crack at the whip.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

31 Aug 2016 21:46:05
Agree with you EdinBhoy I was hoping 4 1 or 2 more a cm n a striker, with a few outgoings Ambrose ciftci commons n maybe a few on loans to get games.
McCarthy would have been a decent signing but I think biton is a good player n can still improve, man city weren't after him b4 we got him 4 nothing. Was gutted johansen went but I can understand that, that's football.
We have done well so far in terms of players in, sure they haven't cost a lot but we have seen an impact n almost all 4 of them straight in the team, if were going to sign players they need to be a 1st team pick or we as u said put our faith and trust in youth, they won't develop otherwise.
Like most I would have ideally liked 2 more in but I'm certainly no going ape shoitte about it. We have a very good midfield n front line to choose from n the 2 central midfielders, be it brown and biton or brown n another, even rogic as Ed suggested who can do that box to box role with Roberts Sinclair Forrest/ dembele with Griff up too is a good forward line and midfield combo. if it's brown n biton in the middle rogic Sinclair n Roberts as the forwards with Griff up top is another good combo. At the back I'd go 4, although brendan may switch between a 3 and a 4 Tierney schviatchenko toure n lustig (however Gambia could play if lustig was moved central instead of toure but I don't see that happening as brendan rates toure) . For me that's a solid team n we have gamboa, just signed who where we need pace in champions league may see game time, although I think he likes lustig in the team, guys a good defender just hope he stays injury free.
However I don't see brendan bringing Gamboa in n not playing him do its interesting as he has a few options.
Nights not yet over so we shall see, hail hail.

Just been lied to again by PL and his annual " every penny will be invested back into the club " statement, the best fans in the world are what makes Celtic the club it is, champions league nights admired all over europe, green brigade fund raising for Palestine etc. DD and Pl are leeches who only interrst is money and spending enough to do the minimum required i. e. win the SPL.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 22:29:21
Like I said would have liked another player in but you can't say the ones we have brought in haven't improved us! Look at the start to our season foe your answer.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 20:12:37
JFP what has public sector got to do with anything? If people work hard for their dough they can spend it anyway they like.

Let's look at the window, we have brought in players during the window, especially I between qualifying rounds to get us in the UCL. We also shipped out dead wood, and the players we brought in have hit the ground running.

No one at all from the club mentioned marquee signings. What is that all about anyway? Inflated wages for inflated fees? Give me an unknown Lubo, Henrik, wanyama, etc any day. The only people talking about marquee were the media, because they have nothing to beat us over.

As for the board, I think they have done brilliant. We are stable, have a great manager, invested in playing squad, and have not squandered the faith we (me too, I've 2 season books, shares and the rest) , put in them with our hard earned cash. PL and DD have shown great leadership and intent. This is the managers first window, wenger says it takes three to make a team your own. Let's see what happens next.

We are in all competitions and UCL. Some people are never happy.

Agree0 Disagree1

31 Aug 2016 20:53:50
Not sure where i said spend £15m on a player?
Thought maybe with the money sloshing around CP we could have brought in a solid buy. Think we are short of a striker. Ciftci not for me. Also. real creative midf might have been nice but we may be ok. Defence good now Jozo on way back.
You are happy. i am not but by all means spend the remainder of the evening having a pop at people who have a right to be miffed wonderboy.
And we will get badly exposed in CL.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 21:23:32
Your post assumes that because no one came in were going to get pumped, i'm for one are happy with the business that has been done so far, from manager to signings, ain't going to change because we ain't spending tonight, could throw 50 mill into our team and the values still won't come close to the other 2 in our group, i think well do ok, but then i'm an optimist,

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 19:49:17
I have watched as we have brought in rubbish over the years. This time we have been very selective and found proper players. Yes we have failed to find exactly what we need but MaCarthy is an example we look good for a while and in jump four PL clubs with cash to splash. It is no good complaining we can not compete with that kind of deal. So man up we have said that we want youth to have a chance well let's give them one.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

31 Aug 2016 19:43:06
Jozo on the way back to Celtic? anyone else think its disgraceful that we have not strengthened the middle of the park, especially after SJ has gone. There is a few hours left, but i think we are done and pl will be rubbing his fat paws at the money he has saved. don't get me wrong we have got a few players in but 2 of them are not even starting?
BR said he wanted another few in PL has said different unless.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

For me Celtic FC season ticket holders (me) needed to be rewarded today for stumping up hard earned cash (other than those who work with the public sector) to watch football under Ronnie. Me, and thousands of others over the last two seasons and many seasons before. Again we (me too) have invested in our thousands (52 thousand to be exact) to support the Brendan regime. If nothing happens today I reserve the right to hold on to my £100 for a champions league package and not bother my ars*. if Celtic don't show the same level of ambition as we (me) have shown the club. Once I calm down even after feck all happens today by way of signings I probably (definitely) still will go. Where's Fergus McCann (and his ambition) when I need him?

Bollocks JF, nobody twisted your arm or forced you to watch celtic, rewarded for what?, supporting your team like the rest of us? Too many gullibles on here getting there panties in a bunch cause somewhere the word marquee was bandied about online ( not from club) , and because its not happened we've been let down again?, we've got rid of some players, replaced them with better quality, increased the wage budget, and the window ain't shut yet, some people are never happy, if don't like it don't go and watch us, simples really.

Agree0 Disagree1

31 Aug 2016 20:19:43
He could have just brought in anyone to make up the numbers like Lennon used to. He knows who he wants, if he can't get them, there is no point buying for the sake of it.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 19:25:59

Believable1 Unbelievable2

31 Aug 2016 19:51:58

If celtic are waiting for the conformation of the simonavic deal in order to make a signing.

That tells me that they are not prepared to spend any of the champions lge money

This club really frustrates me to the bone

They say they will not spend serious money unless champions lge qualification

Then we qualify. and buy someone for 1m

As if we needed champions lge money for that

31 Aug 2016 19:03:10
I think the problem with this marque singing is that Rodgers' market is England and it's super inflated pricing, The type of player we are expecting or wanting costs around £10m in that market and we are never paying that sort of money.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

31 Aug 2016 19:38:23
Going on the net spend we could probably. Difference between that and should though. We could spunk it all on someone who doesn't perform or settle or we could wait until January and monitor decent targets with lower outlay.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 19:01:29
Guys, let's wait and see what happens by close of play tonight. There is no way that we are not trying to bring in additional players. If we do not bring further additions in then yes we the fans have every right to be angry. Basically Celtic will have balanced the books with monies in/ out for players. This would be ridiculous based on the gaurenteed champions league money coming our way. Fingers crossed that things start to move!

With a heavy heart I need to agree mate but not to be down beat we have improved our squad and trimmed some of the deadwood off so from that point of view Rodgers has had a 1st good transfer window. doubt we will see much action tonight was buzzing all day but not now.

The improvement in the management and squad from last year is night and day.

Agree1 Disagree1

31 Aug 2016 19:05:38
Yes, but I bet you still hoped like we all did. I think we need a striker and a creative midfielder.

We thought with the cash in trying to mitigate against getting our arses kicked in the CL they would invest a bit more. An additional Bonus is qualifying for the Europa and having a squad capable of qualifying next tear instead if iur usual let's say a wee prayer and hoping. As an atheist I find that approach about as useful as sacrificing a goat.

Still, a few hours to go and I for one hope sense prevails and we strengthen further.

Agree1 Disagree1

31 Aug 2016 19:24:33
Magicpole how much would you say wed have to spend to stop us getting our arse kicked (as you put it) by the teams in our group that have players worth over a 100 million in there squads?

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 19:41:46
I never said it would prevent it. I said it might mitigate against a too severe tankin. I would say a midfielder at the same price as Sinclair and similar with striker.

The prize is the treble and easier qualification next year.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 19:46:01
Plus ship out the deadwood today and a lot of money freed up for players who will improve us.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 19:47:46
Dn . yes but the striker is second choice/ project ) . cb is for a season (or led to beleive until others got fit or replaced. ) the rb has hardly played in 2 year . apart from being fast no one has mentioned whether he can defend. the gk we don't know if better than Gordon . we ve probably recouped wages from players leaving to cover incomers and if we sell jozo we've spent nothing . if we don't bring out a player who is far better than already here tonight I say the board has let rodgers and us down again.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 20:04:57

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 18:28:48
I think that the club will be happy if we have the best squad in Scotland.
I can't see them signing big names for the Champions league campaign as whoever we were to sign probably wouldn't make much of a difference in that group.
I think that they'll look on the Champions league as a nice windfall, and that they will only spend some of the proceeds in January if things are not going so well in the league.
I would be delighted though to be proved wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 18:33:17

Brendan obviously trusts him so good enough for me.

Agree2 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 13:12:47
No Robbie Keane was announced as on his way to Glasgow at 5pm i remember the sickened look on his face he signed later right enough who wants someone from Holland? what if their coming from South America or Australia? we'd be f***** i can say it stan because it happens year in year out and will continue to do so until we get new owners with REAL AMBITION.

Agree4 Disagree2

31 Aug 2016 13:15:39
You seem too negative jamesbhoy 67 we've signed 5 players all of which could start a lot of games this season. I'm sure we would all love to see a couple more big transfers come in but it can't be easy as a player we value at 3 million to us is going to epl for 10 million this week. If we go through every transfer window improving the starting eleven surely it can't be all bad as previous transfer windows we've only added to the squad not improved it.

Agree2 Disagree4

31 Aug 2016 13:23:26
Best window ever? two 35 year olds a 19 year old untested striker and a right back who hasn't played for two years and a guy who couldn't get a game for Aston Villa we are Celtic not Burton Albion their sitting on a fortune and won't spend money on real top quality players this clown Lawwell has been conning the fans for years.

Agree6 Disagree2

31 Aug 2016 13:56:55
James i didn't say anyone from Holland my point was there is plenty time left to get deals done, As for Holland went to quite a few games there last season as i work there and there is plenty talent there. I have said plenty over the years about the people running our club but if the window closed right now i'd he happy with our signings because every one of them has walked into the first 11 and that's all i want. Buying someone for £8m doesn't make them a better player. Have a seat and relax and think about what might happen reather than what won't happen and you might find yourself in a more positive frame of mind about the rest of the day.

Agree1 Disagree3

31 Aug 2016 14:00:12
Agree with you 100% Jamesbhoy67 so much so that I'm struggling to actually believe there won't be at least one other and possibly two signings and had hoped one of them would be one big enough to make the manky mob want an early night tonight. I think your summary is spot on relative to the level of investment made through season tickets [£30M]and champions league [£30M]. A 35 year old centre half who so far has shown that he can read a game and is an organiser but isn't Paul Elliot. A 19 year old laddie who I think will come good but as you say at present is very much untested. A right back who looks very promising but in the final analysis to quote you hasn't played for two years. We have a great opportunity to invest to at least make us [me] want to buy a Champions League package and to sicken the forces of darkness and evil before the seasons even into September.

31 Aug 2016 14:00:55

Agree0 Disagree3

31 Aug 2016 14:01:34
Its a transitional year.

Need to trim a lot of dead wood out of the team, restructure the wages - but also being celtic - expected to win everything.

Players brought in / sold so far have seriously improved the team.

Sinclair and Toure excellent buys during this changeover.

Exceeded expectations by getting to group stages to - a very very tough group tho - as I suggested before - why spend now - during the frenzy and a difficult group to navigate. We should have our best players in peak condition for the important league games (before and after CL games) , would rather take 3 points a game off Hearts, Aberdeen and What are they called this week and kill ourselves getting no points off Barca

Keep back £25m, buy in January - sort out some OOC Free transfer players - win the league, qualify for next years CL - with £55 to spend on players and hopefully an easier draw to navigate.

Agree0 Disagree2

31 Aug 2016 14:15:50
Who says i'm not relaxed just because i'm saying factual stuff about an inept board? And who mentioned paying 8m for a player? anytime people tell the truth on here the panty wetters rush around to the local shop for their tena ladies.

Agree2 Disagree0

31 Aug 2016 14:26:52
Right forget the £8m players James what do you actually want from the transfer window? You don't want old experienced players or youth players so go on tell us who you want signed or who we should have signed seen as the transfer window seems to have already closed in your mind. I take it you aren't enjoying watching the team at the moment and the signings we have made haven't improved us whatsoever?

Agree0 Disagree1

31 Aug 2016 14:38:02
Think it might be too late for jamesbhoy67 to rush to his local shop. We need a balance of players in and out there's no point in signing players who don't really want to come (scepovic jozo) or aren't better than what we have. If we spend money on players who don't want to come are they going to make us better? If we have to put money away till Christmas or next summer then as long as we get another couple of players for first team great. It's going to take more than one transfer window to get a big improvement but most people can see an improvement so far. Most people slate the epl and sky for their money yet expect us to go mad spending on the last day. Most clubs outside the Big 4 nations aren't spending big today they have to wait for value unlike England who can spend 10/ 15 million on Unknown players.

Hey eds thanks for this site. I have been a reader of this page for years but never had the nerve to post things. I love reading this page and seeing what you guys within the know has to say.

I have read else where that jozo has failed his medical at torino. Do you think this will affect any possibility of bringing players in. Thanks again ed. HH.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I have no idea where the story Simunovic has failed a medical has came from, I'd hang fire with that just now. Either way I don't see how it will affect anything planned for coming in today.}

31 Aug 2016 11:37:53
I've seen this rumour aswell and wouldn't at all be surprised if it's true. He's hardly kicked a ball in a year, don't think he was 100% fit when we signed him so there's every chance he has failed the medical. Like u said though ED don't see how it would effect any business we're trying to do today.

31 Aug 2016 11:51:13

I'm liking the thought of this Brazilian playmaker coming to Glasgow but heard he's turned down a few decent clubs in Europe so he's making wanting to head back home

what 7 players would every one see happy to go

Boyata

Thanks also for the kind words by email in what is and will be a difficult few months. Looking forward to what today might bring but regardless i feel the team is in a good position we certainly don't need extra players to win the SPL so i'd imagine any signing today will be for CL. Think I'd have mixed feelings if we fail to bring in anyone today. As a post above says, we're on a roll right now let's strike while the irons hot and get 1or 2 more in and really show our intent although I must say I'm delighted with the signings already made.

That's 5he difference between a top manager and a rookie . the top managers make less mistakes in the transfer market.

An attacking midfielder seems to be the all the talk but I think another striker is priority.

hi Ed. I noticed that you mentioned you think we will get another couple in, is this still the case as although I think this has been the best transfer window in years I think we are done and will get the same PL story as before and that we tried but just couldn't get them done.
I hope I am wrong though.

{Ed007's Note - It's a different ball game this year, Jon. For the first time in years it's not Pedro that's in charge of transfers. I think Rodgers (and Lawwell and Park) might have been surprised for different reasons this summer. Rodgers has realised how hard it is to get players to come to Scotland but Lawwell and Park might have been surprised by the level of player who was willing to come.
I think we could be in for a good day tomorrow - fingers crossed.}

cheers ED and i hope you are right. going to be an interesting end to the window and maybe we could end up with a Keane-esque end to it.

{Ed007's Note - For me nothing will ever top Celtic signing Roy Keane - I'm filling up just thinking about it here, see you!}

31 Aug 2016 07:07:56
Yeah Ed he was a brilliant player for us lol.

{Ed007's Note - Roy Keane transcends football. In ancient Rome he would have been treated like a God- how many footballers can you say that about?}

Francesco Totti, Guiseppe Giannini, Cafu and Batistuta.

{Ed007's Note - All fine players but I'm talking about true greatness beyond the sport.}

{Ed007's Note - You're welcome, Kev, and thanks for that. It's not my fault the panty-wetters are so sensitive!}

Im offended Ed, i'm writing a strongly worded letter as we speak, followed up with a positive pamphlet campaign ;) . Your a diamond mate and thank you for the excellent work .

{Ed007's Note - Thanks mate. You do know it's me that's in charge of the entire complaints department though don't you? We thought it was best if they all just come directly to me to save poor Ed001 time. :=D
