You can sleep easy tonight Ed the Dumbarton v Hamilton game is off. The sons were due to give someone a good doing and I reckon your 'wee' team were the ones!

Briggs {Ed007's Note - No chance! It will be CFC v Accies in the final. Dumbarton haven't beaten Accies in about 10 years, that won't change for a while yet.}

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Lol your right Ed Dumbarton are a sorry bunch just now, and to make matters worse have an ex Player of the dead club as player manager age 31! Don't get that one at all.

Briggs {Ed007's Note - Hopefully he is a better manager than a player, but not until after the Accies tie.}

Ibrox tobe renamed the Sports Direct Arena?.........for a whopping £1.5m a year!

Haha, what a laugh. All this chat about Sevco being financially sound from the knuckle draggers......well, this is proof they're struggling - selling the name of their stadium to Sports Direct for £1.5m a year!?!

I can predict there will be a boycott of Sports Direct - coz that's what THEY do! lol.....Me? I've always boycotted that place anyway - cheap and nasty! Hehe

Miko

Believable7 Unbelievable7

Boycotts?? Last Saturday, your own club, that's what your supporters do, coz we dont like ra polis!!

Only months ago the rumour of guiness was welcomed by you lot. Paying money to rename your stadium, who cares what its called always be Ibrox or Celtic Park to supporters. PB

i posted a link on here a while back to paul mcconnvilles blog. after a very very long in depth explanation of newco finances, his bottom line was they will need 55,000 at every home game just to keep their heads above water........... look at the date miko. pauls original blog was july or august before a ball was kicked . he says even with full houses all season they cant possibly surrvive , because ibrokes is not big enough . with the wage structure they have they are spending outwith their means.. AGAIN.. shamrock {Ed001's Note - His figures were based on incorrect assumptions. Though they might well be struggling, his blog was cack, to be blunt. It was obviously just sensationalism to get people on there.}

Agree3 Disagree1

I'll accept his opinion before yours every day of the week 001 , it was too in depth to have no merit . shamrock {Ed001's Note - you can accept what you want, but he was quite simply wrong and you are too biased to understand anything unless it suits you. His figures were out of date, as no one has the new figures, but if you are too blind to understand that, there is no hope for you.}

Agree2 Disagree3

More hope for me than there is for sevco. and where's bond by the way {Ed001's Note - that is a pointless remark, you have no idea, nor do I and nor does McConville, what hope there is for the Rangers. But your comeback is especially pointless when it is in reply to someone that it has no relevance to. It just shows how your mind works, that you think anyone who isn't backing you must be a Rangers fan. Sad really, neutrality seems to be an alien concept to you. As for Bond, I would tell you, but then he would have to kill you.......}

Agree2 Disagree1

Ed I've not read the blog so can't comment on the figures, but last season it appears that Rangers as was lost around £25million in one season. Yes the bulk of that was unpaid NIC and PAYE, but the reason they were unpaid was because they did not have the money to pay. We are constantly told the wage bill has come done to £12 million So that represents a saving of around £20 million. The bad news is that income is also down. Lets guess that income is down by £5 million (being generous) that still suggests a £10 million per annum shortfall. I know this is all guess work and so will any thing you say be due to the fact that there are no audited accounts for almost 3 years!

However projections around this level look sensible. There can be little doubt they are running at a loss, and Green's share issue suggests that too.
David {Ed001's Note - I am not disagreeing with that, I am not arguing that Rangers are making money or not. My point was regarding the figures that one particular blog was using were clearly sensationalist. It was based on last year's accounts, which are clearly nowhere near accurate regarding costs this season. It is guesswork like yours, except that you are explaining it is an estimate, while he was claiming it was truth. That is what annoys me about it. The fact is that Rangers are going to struggle financially in a lower division, but McConville's figures don't add up as his information was out of date. To be honest, no one will be able to do more than estimate anything until the day the accounts are released.}

PB - The 'rumour' of Guinness was posted on April 1st.

Not a rumour, just a wind up

Samson

Agree4 Disagree0

@6 my point exactly rumour, wind up or truth, who actually cares! The point being supporters will always go to Celtic Park or Ibrox not the guiness dome or Sports direct arena. If they want to pay money to the clubs it can only do one thing, add to the bank balance. PB {Ed007's Note - It was me that made up that Guinness rumour PB. I never expected people to believe it to the level they did. There was even people arguing with me that it was true, claiming they had sources in Ireland that had told them etc, even after I held my hands up over it.}

ED001 as a "punishment" for your rude reply to Shamrock, I sentence you to read 5 of wee Pat's blogs... then report on here about them lol Timalloy

Ps as regards finances down Govan way nobody knows as no audited accounts are available. But was not Mr McConville basing his projections on the last available published accounts. Surely, his figures cannot be that far from the truth? Also why is Green so desperate to raise £20m when he keeps telling everyone who will listen that the season ticket money "is in the bank untouched" {Ed001's Note - his figures were far from the truth, precisely because they were based on the previous figures. That is the problem. Until the accounts become available, there is no way of knowing the costs. For starters, what if Rangers are not paying the running costs of Ibrox, but simply a basic rent for the use of it? We don't know what is happening regarding finances, so any blog telling us about them has to be guesswork. As for wee Pat's blogs, that would be torture not punishment!!!!}

Agree2 Disagree1

How does this prove that Rangers are financially struggling? The proposal is £1.5mill that increases with promotions. My guess is that a few spl clubs wouldn't snub that, and Rangers are currently in sfl3. That doesn't seem so bad does it?
And remember that Celtic park used to be called Parkhead, the change was most likely for marketing purposes as the club rebranded under Fergus, and why not?

Your point on boycotting doesn't make any sense after saying that it's YOU who does the boycotting! Have a cup of tea. {Ed007's Note - Celtic Park has NEVER been called Parkhead, that is just a name that has been used, like Paradise. Milk with no sugar thanks, I'm sweet enough.}

Agree1 Disagree1

Welcome back 007, 001 gave me a telling off lol .. shamrock {Ed007's Note - It's the male menopause, Shamrock. He says it will come to us all eventually.}

Agree1 Disagree0

I think u'll find that parkhead is the area that celtic play in. much like rangers play in ibrox. Parkhead has never been the stadium name

Samson {Ed007's Note - To be fair though people have used it but it was never the official name.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Re Parkhead?:
Same as St Mirren used to play at "Love Street" as everyone knew their ground - but in fact their old stadium was officially "St Mirren Park" - it was located on Love Street (I live in Paisley).
It used to be a pub trivia question - name the only 2 Scottish clubs with their name in the stadium name - only Celtic left, now that St Mirren have moved...................kbt1978

Agree0 Disagree0

No the new stadium is called St Mirren Park. I think the Old stadium was called Love street. Lots of St Mirren Fans call the new stadium Love Street

Agree0 Disagree1

@9 here, ED your right Celtic park is the correct name. However I grew up with everybody calling it "Parkheed" so I just took that for granted. And that was the case right up until Fergus took over. Only then did Celtic park become the name people used, and rightly so. Fergus was rebuilding the brand, and a good job he made of it.
Anyway about that cuppa, any one for camomile!

Agree1 Disagree0

Here is she no merit tae price charlie?
cammy mile

Agree0 Disagree0

St mirrens old park was: st mirren park and the new stadium is nee st mirren park.

Agree with ed001 (although ed007 is living the dream as bond) that know one knows what rangers finances are like regardless of "inside information" at times... Havent we just learnt speculation isnt always correct!

ed, don't know if you read the dark pages , but if you do , have you noticed the mood changing over there. august was a new adventure , looking forward to sfl3 , and f*** the spl. in the last couple of weeks , crap pitches are going to call off games every 2nd week , did that call off cost us money ? . i think it's finally getting through their thick skulls that sfl3 is a bad thing. we can even say what we want about them on here and they dont argue any more , not even fannies like geo the ger.. yes i'm affraid the bears are losing heart , no fight left in them. we knew in august sfl3 was a bad thig , they are just getting it now.. and the 2nd and 1st are just more of the same , but harder . shamrock
