Got to disagree with you ed about Villa, MON done a great job at Villa i'm sure he had them in the top 8 the years he was there, as for Sunderland it's one of those poison chalice jobs like their neighbours Newcastle. I would have him back in charge at Celtic in a minute. Maybe Lenny to Sunderland?. Stevie {Ed007's Note - Have you seen the state AV''s finances are still in because of MON, man who sanctioned a deal that paid Nigel Reo-Coker £85k a week (remember he sanctioned Balde's final contract as well).
Why do you think he was never considered when it came to the 'big' jobs?
Ask AV fans what they think of his time in charge, you will find more than a few who disagree with you.
Walking out on the club days before the start of the season because of 'lack of transfer funds' stinks, he knew all summer what his budget was and tried to take on Lerner in a conceited power struggle. Lerner felt MON had wasted enough of his money.}

Would Martin O'Neill come back to Celtic in some sort of Director of Football role? Doubt he'll ever get another job in the Premier League after Sunderland, in my opinion, unfairly dismissed him. {Ed007's Note - MON doesn't believe the DOF system works, one of the stipulations of him taking the CFC job in the first place was that he wouldn't have to work under a DOF. Plus I hardly think it was unfair, Aston Villa are still trying to recover since his time there and Sunderland will be the exact same. Everything in the garden wasn't as rosy as some people like to remember when MON left CFC, he agreed to leave in 2003 and take over at Leeds, that deal only fell through because Risdale left Leeds.}

Considering its St Mirrens first game since they won the league cup and they're playing the Champions elect, I would hope tomorrow it's a sellout in Paisley. I won't hold my breath though. DH

Congratulations to Scotlands newest club on their first divisional title win. After a plucky draw against MONTROSE, who had a legitimate goal disallowed, they won it due to ELGIN beating QUEENS PARK. What a glorious start to their league adventure. green jhedi

I really enjoy when Neil Lennon is in the studio at a football game and think his interviews are getting more and more of a must listen to. He is definitely proving he his very intelligent especially about the football game in general and find him very ariculate in his opinions.

I also have no issues with him being a sore loser, I would class Sir Alex Ferguson, Jose Mourinho, and Bill Shankley as all the same.

Anyone who thinks he is the snarling ned he was protrayed as is nothing more than ignorant, knows nothing about football and uses the tabloids as their football bible.

My point is, I'm glad he has asked questions of the Scottish game (and the UK in general).

He has stressed he thinks Kids are getting it too easy as he himself was 'nurtured on the hard world of boot cleaning and menial chores at Manchester City'

'I'm not convinced the academies are working and we're not producing the kids, certainly in this country, that we did 20, 25 years ago, he said. And I'm not convinced they're working in England either. Everyone will tell you they are but I don't see much evidence for it. They certainly need to look deeper than the international first team to see what the problems are in the game

We're more affluent as a society. Kids get more. The street football's gone, the boys club football seems to be in demise. Are they getting enough football at a younger age? Or are they getting over-coached at a younger age?

Is the natural talent being exhausted out of them by badge-holding coaches? Because they hold badges doesn't make them good coaches. I'm sure there are a lot of good coaches out there. I don't know. '

When talking about the younger players:-

'They don't clean the boots any more they don't clean the toilets. They're not here at 9am. We were on a YTS system. We got £28. 50 and you had jobs to do during the day as well as training, getting kit ready, looking after first-team players. That's where you learned respect, he said.

Maybe that sounds really antiquated but it seemed to work 20-25 years ago. Radical change was bringing the academies, based, I assume, on Clairefontaine in France but that's the problem. We always look elsewhere to see if we could get better when we should be concentrating on what's here and what works. We're not producing the McAllisters, the Collins or the McStays at the minute'

I would love to see the game revamped and think our grassroots is needing ripped up to start again.

Money has ruined the game and has had a major impact on nurturing young talent. I'm unsure if say Alex Ferguson would get the time again he had at Manchester United in the early 90's.

Doncaster at the spl has always been in cahoots with Lingmuir of the SFL regarding sev. co5088.

That's why it surprises me not when Doncaster comes out saying the spl is only as strong as the division under it (which is a completely rubbish and wrong statement). I fear he's trying to talk sev. co5088 into spl2 without sporting merit therefore undermining the sporting integrity of the whole Scottish football system.

Celtic FC the most successful club in Scottish Football. The most league titles. The most cups and the biggest trophy available to any European club.

Watch out Charles Jabba bhoy is working against you (he comes recommended).
We've got Sleekit Ally in the dr and Bombed out Brown in the bun thoroughly criticizing you and demanding Mr Honourable Murray gets reinstated soonest. Nip it in the bud quickly and sack him. Reinstate sandaza immediately as you can't do anything legal there. Sack McCoist and his entourage. Put in a temp manager and watch the football flow.
Remember they're all WS guys. So watch your back with him too.
