Given the tragedies in British football over the years of course they were going to do everything to ensure spectator safety. And it wasnt the ground it was the surrounding area. Speaking of falling apart tho, remember when rangers couldn't afford to put on the heating and all the pipes burst causing match postponements?

Just been on Ssn kayal out for at least a month with ankle damage bad news

That might turn out to be a good thing due to him being injured at the moment. I doubt anyone would buy him at the moment thankfully!,
Agree0

Not a good thing? How can you say that. We need him
Agree1
Disagree0
Kayal is the heartbeat of the team, we will miss him, look back and you will see we tend to drop points when he is not in the team. That said we are in a good place at the moment and you would think that any 2 from brown, wanyamma, ki, ledley, would be good enough to cope. Markiebhoy.

On the bright side for sally he has a career in stand up when he's inevitably sacked.
"Every player has to perform well in training and bounce games to get into the team and when they get there they have to perform well enough to stay there."

If the season ended on New Years Day Celtic would be celebrating 4 in a row. It doesn't though. So what I'm saying is they are still along way to go.
I never enjoyed the result on Wednesday at all but I have enjoyed reading all the posts/jokes slagging us Rangers supporters/fans off. I just can't get enough keep it coming lol.

Utter pish my bruised bear.
You rascals keep throwing your stones at our Neil, his players all want to play for him (Commons?), didn't see that in your team the other night, maybe I'm wrong but where is the confidence in his signings?
Aluko pays his own fees, steals yous 3 pts and plays better than most of his team mates against your rivals and gets hooked?? The cracks in Allys kipper will appear soon enough my friend, you'll see.

What s**t, all mcoist went on about was his own team and the ref. He never once had the class to congratulate the winning team or manager..unlike NL who was very gracious to a team who went out to nothing but kick Celtic off the park..no class whatsoever. Markiebhoy

Taken from an interview by Bannan in the Herald in 2009:::
"I was playing for Lenzie youths on a Sunday and Celtic under-14s on a Saturday," he said. "Ian Stevenson, the manager at Lenzie, brought through boys like Stephen Crainey and Billy Dodds and was a huge influence on me. I was in and out of the Celtic team. I think they wanted to sign me but they made me wait around. I went on a trial with Villa and they wanted to sign me straight away. Celtic then tried a bit harder but, to be honest, because I was a Celtic fan I think they just took it for granted and assumed I would automatically sign for them."

Paul Le Guen v Ally McCoist ... who has better record in the Rangers hotseat ? .....
Paul Le Guen .. Pl 26 , W15 , D5 , L6 ,
Ally McCoist ... Pl 26 , W14 , D6 , L6 ,
I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions , but will only be a matter of time till the Rangers' hordes turn on their "Hero"

Le Guen wanted Rangers to play FOOTBALL , not the Rangers way i'm afraid , McCoist will do what he's told , and is the obvious choice for Mr Whyte as he wont rock the boat and demand money , but the hordes will turn on him shortly .

- Joe Ledley has now scored 2 Glasgow derby goals, which is more than ex-Kilmarnock and Rangers striker Kris Boyd managed in 10 seasons
Believable3
Unbelievable0
Ur point caller ... boyd scored more than larsson and we all know the outcome of that arguement ..... ahh rite there was no point just a 10yr old attempt at banter ... gotcha !
Agree0
Disagree2
Ah but it took boyd 10 years to break a record that took Larsson 6 and a half years to set
Agree3
Disagree1
He did score more than Larsson but he had 3 extra years to do it. Take it on an average per season and you'll find that Larsson makes Boyd look like an amateur.....which he was because he couldn't score in the big games! Now feck off back to Greyskull and lick your wounds! HAIL HAIL
Agree4
Disagree0
He never scored anywhere near the amount of goals Larsson scored. He has 184career goals (164 in Scottish football) - Larsson has scored 325 (174 in Scottish football)
Agree4
Disagree0
So what samaras has more old firm goals than boyd as does commons
Agree4
Disagree0
I think he scored more goals than our Henrik in the SPL. Henrik scored more when you count cup competitions I think. But the fact remains he had 3 extra years and he only had a handful of extra goals.....and he STILL couldn't score in the big games!! HAIL HAIL

sfa looking to pioneer goaline technology for uefa , what prompted this ?will i be called paranoid again or is this just a coincidence
Believable4
Unbelievable1
What prompted this .... how a bout a goal that was never given when it should have been ...... your a smart bunch eh !?
Agree1
Disagree2
Why now, does seem a little too much of a conicidence.
Is it that the establishment are keen for certain teams always to benefit.
It would be poetic justice if the tables were turned during a future Old Firm game and the Hoops got a goal because of this technology.

I remember the highs last season after we won at Ibrox and Celtic Park, however we fell at the last and ended up second best.
While there is no denying the fantastic turn around in form and league points, we must strengthen the squad in key areas, keep our best players and keep winning games.
I feel we need to score more (especially from set pieces as we do earn plenty corners and free kicks.)
So a powerfull header of the ball is paramount in looking at strikers and centre backs.
As usual a few of our players are being watched by supposed big clubs so this is a compliment to NL for building a young talented team that will mostly stay together and improve more and more?
Happy New Year to all on Celtic Banter/Rumours!

Agreed JJ....we need a strong Centre forward and Centre Half. I feel we waste goal scoring opportunities as well..
ICT game last season changed everything, here's hoping it doesn't happen again ! Mrs E
Agree2

Mrs E, I thought Samaras had a good game, he won almost everything in the air and was good running with the ball.
How about this for a thought?
With all the English teams looking for a big centre forward on current form I can see a bid for Sammy coming in, question is would Celtic accept it and would we Celtic fans like to see him go now he has found his form? Timalloy
Agree0
Disagree3
Sammy is the most frustating player ever! but to be fair he has really moved up a gear in the last few months can he keep it up? banguarra worries more tho.lennons got to be trusted on transfers and backed fully by the board as the most encouraging thing on wed was the age of the team.as an aside,i am 53 and been watching celtic for 47 years and the green brigade are the best thing to happen for years, the jungle lives again! v the dark side the atmosphere was electric thx bhoys n ghirls. greenallover.
Agree2
Disagree0
Samaras is a very annoying player, his head goes down really quickly. He defo has the ability for the SPL anyway... (He does no bad for Greece as well)
Timalloy, all our players would be sold for the right price. Without a shadow of a doubt. Mrs E
Agree1
Disagree2
Mrs E, I agree that if we get good offers for Kayal, KI, Hooper etc.. we would consider them, difference is Celtic would reinvest money in other good players.
If Jellyfish was sold, would "billionaire" Whyte reinvest in Rangers or pocket the cash? Timalloy
Agree1

Its Matthews, Wanyama & Forrest i'm worried about hanging onto Tim :( Mrs E

It will always be a crap match when rangers insist on making it a battle. Pick a team full of the usual cloggers, kick everything in a Celtic shirt and hope jellyfish sneaks a breakaway. As messi said rangers are anti football. At least Celtic try to play the game in the correct manner. If Celtic ever start playing the way rangers do then I will stop watching them. Markiebhoy.
