I see in the Scotsman that Miller is slating Simunovic for using "excessive force". I think I've already made it clear how much I detest Miller, but after his attempt to break Armstrong's legs earlier in the season, how in the name of God has this fool got the front to even question what was a brilliant and superbly timed fair tackle? I'm utterly astounded that Miller got away with his "challenge" but to come out with this? Words fail me.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I have never liked Kenny Miller as a player or a man but I had a grudging respect for him. Over the last few seasons he has become nothing more than an odious rat who seems to be modelling himself on Slug McCoist.}

01 May 2017 00:03:42
Agree Ed. I was the same as you. respect etc. but not now. Bit like Warburton at the start and then they have to toe the party or rather the lodge line. Say no more. best to all from a sunny Tenerife.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Even Pedro seems like a decent sort of bloke, that's not going to fit in over there and he'll get chewed up and spat out by the bigots just like Warburton was.}

01 May 2017 01:36:49
I can't and won't be critical of a poor b@star* blind with rage and clearly unstable. He backflips like a Russian gymnast
No bad for his age. For 5's.

Agree4 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Miller will NEVER go in for a 50/50 with Jozo again. Any time the big man looks Miller in the eye he'll know a tackle like that is lurking like a ninja ready to strike.
I want a T-shirt that says Simunovic could have blocked the 'magic bullet' that hit JFK.}

01 May 2017 06:23:25
Miller, can't go the badge kissing, odius wee tool. Jozos tackle was a thing of beauty. A tackle that was both clean and precise. Every time you watch it back it just gets better and better! Sour grapes from a player firmly entrenched in the Sevco machine. A horrible cog fitting in perfectly with the blue brogue agenda. BBC's coverage showed no sign or mention of the disgusting incidents following Sinky's penalty but was I surprised? Was I hell.
Never in all my years as a Celtic fan have I ever felt as if the institution are closing ranks as of now. Journalists sniping us with backhand comments, terrified or just unwilling to report of the dodgy goings on inside Ibrox. A major court case involving more suspect twists and turns than a Hitchcock novel gets next to no coverage and an SFA so inept it would make Fawlty Towers look like the Waldorf Astoria. Celtic do remarkably well to deal with the manure it gets thrown.
We are on top of the world just now and the huns are raging. They can't stand it and are fighting back the only way they can, by using dirty tricks and smear campaigns promoted by their own MSM. Their 'loyal peepul' are a stain on Scottish football, disgusting racist, sectarian bigots who can't even bring themselves to sing songs about their players but revert to singing the old chants of killing fenians and child abuse. The quicker they go bust the better as far as I am concerned.

Agree6 Disagree0

01 May 2017 08:25:02
Excessive force in a tackle? Your either committed or your not. I can't stop watching the tackle in the modern game it's the hardest fairest tackle your allowed and was simply outstanding.

Agree4 Disagree0

01 May 2017 09:41:07
I hate Miller, absolutely detest him. But I just cannot fathom how he can possibly have the brass neck to complain about a perfectly good tackle after what he attempted to do to Armstrong. I think that was the worst action in terms of potentially ending someone's career that I have ever seen - he knows exactly what he's trying to do and has somehow escaped with any recrimination and virtually without any mention in the media. And he complains about this.

Agree4 Disagree0

01 May 2017 09:48:49
Agreed Campsie. Excessive force my anus. It was a thing of beauty.

Agree2 Disagree0

01 May 2017 09:53:27
Absolute class tackle from the big man, took the ball completely, was fair and hard. That's a proper defenders challenge n to even suggest it was a foul or excessive clearly shows how thick sevconians are but also how much of a nugget miller is.
We were the better team all over the park and in the stands and unfortunately for sevco this is their future, well that is until the new team go bust and then we get the 3rd incarnation pretending to be rangers, zombies united has a good ring to it.
Here we go 10 in a row.

Agree3 Disagree0

01 May 2017 11:02:44
Miller is and always will be a football mercenary, who will kiss the badge of any club willing to offer him money! I hate the fact he's actually played for our club! Well I use the words played loosely because he was utter pish! Somes him up when they've just been humped 5 going on 10 he's greetin about a exceptional challenge from jozo! Everybody could see it was an outstanding challenge but they'll do or say anything to deflect from the fact that there new club is a shambles from top to bottom! And I for one love it that millers signed on for another season of pain and suffering! Because I like nothing better than seeing his and all the other RRM faces when we've firmly put them in there place! HH.

Agree5 Disagree0

01 May 2017 11:04:07
Also had to watch Miller going off his nut when he failed to get Brown booked for that 'elbow'. Hate that stuff at the best of times but his reaction when the ref just spoke to Brown (over nothing really) shows how cynical Miller is. The Jozo tackle was nothing short of perfection.

Agree4 Disagree0

01 May 2017 11:29:14
Davie, Lh - I totally agree. I was gutted when we signed Miller and the badge kissing when he scored against them just didn't ring true (obviously I was leaping about at the time, but when I saw it later, it did make me think. ) . But Miller is one of the nastiest little guys in the game - maybe it's because he's one of them, maybe it's his age or perhaps a combination of the two, but he appears to get away with whatever he wants, and even gets praised for it! It was exactly the same with David Weir - he was old and past it (whatever "it" was because I always thought he was a shocking footballer) but they portrayed him as a gentleman and consequently he got away with everything. I'll never forget a blatant penalty being denied us after he took out Maloney, but because he's old and slow and because he's David Weir.
It's exactly the same with Miller now. He doesn't deserve to ever set foot on a pitch again after the Armstrong incident, instead he gets their POTY award. Says it all really.

Agree2 Disagree0

01 May 2017 11:32:11
Its a shame Neil McCann was busy he would have piped up with; If you look at it, the speed of the tackle is what concerns me, just like Scott Browns tackle on Boyce. Celtic players are tackling too fast and with too much speed. Im surprised they didn't complain that Armstrong was too quick getting the touch on the ball for the second goal. He won that challenge far too quickly and probably deserved a yellow for his quickness. New SFA guidelines, yellow cards if you win tackles too quickly.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 May 2017 08:46:26
Ed007 bigrab! Just been on the sly sports app for a morning update on all things football. They have a story running about how that tackle went unpunished? ! How it incensed the home support . And how we it allowed us to nearly score! Talk about biased reporting . It was an outstanding tackle .

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - There will be defenders all over the world wishing they had made a tackle like that. Not just the tackle either but to use the ref to play a wall pass to Broony too!! :-D

01 May 2017 12:40:45
Delbhoy - are you serious? What in the name of God is next? In trouble for scoring because it upsets the home support? I can't believe all this crap, I really can't. How can they justify any of this? You'd swear we had played 11 ineligible players!

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I seen a few roasters trying to justify the racism aimed at Sinclair by asking why he didn't run to his own fans to celebrate, the fact they were at the other end of the pitch probably had something to do with it ffs!}

01 May 2017 13:00:17
In live chat I offered to pay big Jozo's fine if he lit a cigar after that tackle

All Miller did was try to get Jozo and Brown in bother because he knew how much of a doing they were on too

When SS ran down that flank they were flinging full coke cartoons at him but not a jot mentioned anything about the battery that was flung @ LG? No no must not upset the culprits and as for the fud doing the monkey bit what an arrrs in this day and age hope he knows a lawyer that really won't want to touch him his door will be getting chapped if it hasn't already!

Garner came on and was throwing himself all over the place trying to get Boyata sent off too. Pure desperation from them it's embarrassing.

Yes Andy1969. On the app! As for ed's comment on jozo magic bullet t-shirt? Have you seen the montage on fb of the tackle? Where at the end the put jozo's face on Ivan drago? IF HE DIES HE DIES! The t-shirt are on line haaaa al try upload a pic 😂😂😂.

Big Jozo's tackle was the best tackle i've ever seen. take a bow big man👏👏👏.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'm quite proud of my tackle and ain't shy to show it off so I can't say Jozo's is THE best I've ever seen.......... ;-)
The question should be is it the best hard tackle Kenny Miller's ever seen?}

Sorry guys if this has been discussed but why did Lustig get booked after scoring his marvellous goal? didn't take his shirt off and didn't cross the barrier and didn't get into the crowd. should never stand.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

30 Apr 2017 22:44:19
they book players for covering their face with their shirt ala ravanelli style as well ridiculous if you ask me.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Apr 2017 22:47:12
Agreed A67-said the same thing at the time-he didn't take his jersey off and didn't go to the crowd. Lustig is another Swede that knows what we're about and just loves Celtic Glasgow. He should be allowed to see his career out at Parkhead. What a feckn finish. His fellow Swede would hav been proud of that goal. This is how it feels to be Celtic champions again as you know Brendan Rodgers is here for 10 in a row! And they ain't liking it out in feckn Airdrie! ☘️.

I am not sure if this topic has been said so apologise if it has but I would like to bring up the issue of Stewarding at Servco yesterday. I read somewhere that all there stewards are not Qualified and that at least some are just volunteers IF this is the case surely SFA should step in and sort that out before a player manager or fan gets seriously hurt?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

30 Apr 2017 22:50:13
Tony are you seriously expecting the SFA to take action against sevco? The control stewards in an always hotly contested event allowed a nutter onto the arena to confront Brown (god help us if he had any weapon)
In fairness, it took four of them to stop LG tying a scarf to the post (as per prior instructions)
What will it take to see that the major problems with Scottish football originate from the bigot brew at ibrokes? kill that and all the other side issues will have to readjust and die.

Agree2 Disagree0

30 Apr 2017 19:19:44
Just watching the game again and I must admit wee McGregor has come on lots, I was not his biggest fan, but since he replaced Biton the team looks more balanced and his link up play is superb, a lot of the one touch, fast paced football he was at the centre of it all.
So Mr McGregor I owe you an apology.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - What about Mr Pochettino? lol}

30 Apr 2017 19:25:58
ha ha I just posted on the bets page how wrong I was also, ach my old brain is slowing down lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I seen that, it wasn't one of your more inspired tips.}

30 Apr 2017 21:34:26
Gutted that we didn't get a replay of his incredible first touch where he pulled the ball out the sky with superb control. Commentators didn't even mention it. I think Rodgers sees him as his Joe Allen. Neat and tidy and keeps things ticking over. Balance in midfield is great just now. All Scotsman too which is nice to see. Rogic will struggle to get his place back.

Still can't stop smiling and couldn't be happier with our team and the way they have played all season long.
However I'd like to send a message to the PL and the board.
Despite the fact that we have strolled the league now is the time to up the stakes financially, don't spend a wee bit, spend even more as this is the time, they have never been worse (apart from going bust obviously. . lol) . but now is the time to spend some serious money to challenge in Europe but also to firm up the fact that we have our boot on their necks. go even further ahead and break them so badly they'll be out of it for years.
Back to being really happy again Hail Hail.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

30 Apr 2017 17:23:48
Good post mate! The last time we had a chance like this was Seville. A few quality additions and we could have kicked on .

The board were happy to sit on their laurels then and we seen how that panned out .

Hopefully they will have learned and back brendan and his vision for the club .

Agree4 Disagree0

30 Apr 2017 19:19:54
I think the board will back Brendan massively. He wants to players brought in. I think our spend will be 15 million.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Apr 2017 19:46:59
Delbhoy wrote the same post yesterday. The Board need to aim for CL last 16. That means 3 or 4 quality additions. Forget Rangers they will look after themselves, they are not a concern, they are finished right now. We need to look to CL and trying to improve our coeficient. Great season to date.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Apr 2017 21:40:12
What is encoutaging for me is that O'neil, Strachan and Lennon never really did anything of note in europe in their debut seasons then had more success when they had built their own team. This season though we qualified for CL and made a decent fist of it. And that was without Rodgers knowing the squad very well, so we should be aiming for improved results in Europe year on year. Last 16 is still a very hard thing to achieve though, finishing third would be success for me.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Apr 2017 16:42:14
Firstly can I say the ref had a good game yesterday he got all the big decisions right.
But did anyone else notice he stopped the game early.
At 49 quid a ticket u would think we would get the full game.

Just finished watching the EPL Everton-Chelsea, was there an actual crowd there, you could hear a pin drop. Not on twitter but if I was I would tweet
# NOATMOSPHERE.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I've said it before, Tim but the only EPL games I watch are the Man Utd ones and catch the 'highlights' of the rest. The football is overrated, most of the commentators/pundits are knobs and the grounds are filled with day-tripper tourists who would go and watch any game as long as it's in the EPL, a lot of them seem to support the league rather than any one team.}

30 Apr 2017 16:33:28
That's the way they are on social media Ed. Fair enough you get fans of good teams like Chelsea etc who can argue that they're better than us in the pitch but then you get the guys who support absolute dross (Low EPL and mid to high Championship) whose patter is that we play in a poor league and that their team plays in a better league. They think that's more important than the fact our team would beat their team.

Agree4 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It's like you - not you personally - swaggering about like a big man because your mate's got a cracking looking bird. It doesn't change the fact that you're bald, fat and spotty and your bird looks like Theresa May.}

Ed, in terms of European qualification rounds, what is the difference in finishin 2nd,3rd and 4th this season in the spfl?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - There's no difference, they all start in the Europa first qualifying round with ties scheduled to be played June 29th and July 6th.
And 4th place only qualify if the Scottish Cup participants have already qualified for Europe through their league places.}

30 Apr 2017 12:59:08
A fun and interesting post to all (I hope) esp eds and English eds would value your opinion.
Going through the Celtic squad and comparing then to EPL players as we always are I thought ok let's compare prices and talent.
Gordon v Bravo 2m v 12M
Sinclair V Redmond 3.5m v 20m
Armstrong v Herrera 6m v 20m
Brown v Lucas 3m v 10m
Tierney v Shaw 10m v 30m
Rogic v Barkley 6m v 30m
Dembelle v Lukaku 20m v 50m.
Just a bit of fun I know but I tried to compare like for like as much as I cud.
So question is, is Bravo better than Gordon and are the rest better than we got.
There is an argument for Barkley and Lukaku but look at the price difference.
In my opinion there is not much between any of them, some are slightly better than us while some of ours are slightly better than theirs.
Fire away guys lol.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - your having a giraffe ray if you think everton will only get £50m for lukaku, the price is set at £100m but realistically it will end up £70-80m, i would bite your arm off for dembelle at £20m though mate, the prices in england are massively inflated mate and its all to do with the sly money..

30 Apr 2017 15:17:07
Rayman that is why most of the teams in the EPL are in debt. When you pay £90 mill for Pogba then the whole market is a joke. When i listen to english pundits talking about how poor scottish football is i would like to force them to live within the money they generate outside the handouts from their billionare owners. Man u with £500mill debt spending £90 mill on one player. The average debt in EPL is £109 mill. As Ed days its a totally inflated market and it will come to a shuddering halt.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Remember Man Utd brought in more than £500 million for last year (2015/16) and about £70 million in profits so although there is debt it is more than manageable and it actually stems from the Glazer's takeover rather than the money they spend on players etc.
The Glazers paid around £790 million for Utd. The family initially took the club private, which created a great deal of the debt, but then had an initial public offering (IPO) in 2012. At one point in 2010, the club's debt exceeded £716.5 million so they've paid off over £200 million since then.}

30 Apr 2017 16:01:25
Didn't realise about the 100m ed, even at todays prices Lukaku is only worthy about 50m for me any more is ludicrous.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im the same ray but when you see the likes of united paying £89m for pogba then you never know..the world has gone mad mate..

30 Apr 2017 16:45:23
Hi Ed maybe i am wrong but i thought Man U had about £500mill of debt. Understand its managable as long as sly keep throwing billions at it and they get decent run in CL but rumours have it thst Marinio is being given a £250mill warchest this year so if right debt might climb again.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - They have got around £500 million worth of long term debt but it's really of no concern, Utd can easily spend £250 million on players and service there debt. Think of it like this, do you not spend any money on a new car or big TV because you have a mortgage to pay?}

Did the ref take advice from the fourth official for the penalty decision yesterday?
Just watched the replay and he looks like he's looking back to the dugouts and then nods and points to the spot.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

30 Apr 2017 11:57:28
According to Celtic tv commentary he looked to the 4th official to confirm it was inside the box. Thought the ref had a good game but also according to CTV there was an incident off the ball that was missed. Hill knocking Jozo to the ground after the Windass foul on Sinky. There doesn't seem to be any footage though so probably never know.

Zonal Marking Gets A Bad Press

30 Apr 2017 05:08:18
{Ed's Note - We have posted a new article entitled, Zonal Marking Gets A Bad Press

Believable0 Unbelievable0

30 Apr 2017 07:48:46
Good write up that, whoever is responsible. When I've been sitting listening to those very pundits argue about zonal marking all I've thought is don't blame the game, blame the player. What I mean by that is in most cases, is the flaw with either system, not actually the system at all, but the individual? The misapplication of what they have been told to do and individual errors. I agree with the overall sentiment and would say that it is often the man who wants to win the ball the most (or prevent their opponent from doing so) that will end up victorious. The info about corners becoming less effective is interesting, and supports a suspicion I've had a few times.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - thank you JT.}

30 Apr 2017 09:39:06
Read that being a clear supporter for man to man marking at corners as I have never been able to see the benefit of letting a man get a run on you for a corner but now see why so many teams opt for it. Iv always felt it was lazy or shirking away from responsibilities if everybody picks up there man then they know who there responsible for as for keepers they get way too much protection it's shocking seeing a keeper waving at fresh air and blaming a man infront of them when the same theory applies if your committed enough to win that ball you will. Good read. Andy Gray is a walloper!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - cheers CB. I admit I was always a man-to-man guy until recently myself. The last couple of years talking it over with professional coaches and players has changed my opinion completely. Though I still think a mix is better, personally.}

30 Apr 2017 11:23:04
I must admit I never did like zonal marking and couldn't understand it or why it was used (even questioning managers who have forgotten more about football than i will ever know, lol) but i reckon it just gets highlighted more when the opposition team score nobody mentions anything about it when the zonal marking actually works. Hence the bad press.

The improvement in the team this year under BR is amazing.
Craig Gordon has improved his distribution
Lustig can play 90 minutes
Siminovoc is fit
Boyata is like a new player, immense in the air and his passing has improved 100%
Kieren is getting better all the time
Scott Brown is having his best season in celtic jersey
Armstrong is becoming future captain
Mcgregor is proving the doubters wrong
Sinclair is POTY
Paddy roberts is a genius[please stay]
Dembele is world class
Leigh is still a 40 goal a season striker and will improve under BR
James forrest has improved and scoring goals.
And we still have rogic to come good after his operation.
Subs bench ain't to shabby with eric, izzy, gamboa, biton, henderson all making vital contributions this season.
