Would anyone take Tim Sherwood, don't think he would take any nonsense and did good things at Spurs behind the scenes.

Believable0 Unbelievable5

{Ed007's Note - No mate, I'd avoid him like the plague. He's actually a bit of a bizarre character with an ego that would put Mourinho to shame.}

01 May 2016 10:20:38
Totally agree with Ed.
Why are so many novice managers getting mentioned on here just because they have managed a short time in EPL?

Well done gary Caldwell
Always good to see a former player doing well.

Believable4 Unbelievable4

30 Apr 2016 21:08:25
With a bit more experience Caldwell could be back at parkhead as our manager?

Give it a few years.

Only if he continues to be successful no point otherwise.

He was a guy I just couldn't take to. At one point he had a two page interview every other week in the rags and I always remember shuddering with embarrassment at his gammy posing photos and the p#shy drivel he would come out with in his interview's.
Almost but not quite as bad as amoruso when he used to do them. Still remember ripping the piss out of my rangers mates when he did his greasy sauna photo shoot for the record I think it was. What an ego, what a tw@t.

Fantastic ball to Naka's feet though.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 May 2016 13:20:11
As a Manager he is obviously doing well, in relative terms. Not for me though.

That said, as a player, he was involved in two of my favourite Celtic moments:

-The last minute win at Celtic Park against Milan.
-The injury time winner from JVH against Rangers.

Got to say well done to Ronny and the team today.
Got to wonder if he could get that response from the team more times than not would he still be in a job.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

01 May 2016 02:06:44
Course he would but that's why he's out a job because they never bought it.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Apr 2016 19:48:45
433 surely border line anarchy!

Believable1 Unbelievable3

30 Apr 2016 18:22:18
I was delighted with that today, I thought we handled the occasion very well, there has been a lot of times this season when we would have struggled in a game like that.
I'm also really pleased for Ronny Deila, I have always felt that the job was a bit too much for him and his inexperience has shown through on a number of occasions, but I'm glad he is going out with his head held high, he seems a genuinely nice person and that's the least he deserves.

Believable6 Unbelievable3

30 Apr 2016 19:01:05
The worst thing about it is that the players are more than capable of playing like that most weeks! As much as I don't think Ronny was the man for the job long term, I feel like he could have eventually left with a lot more credit than he will and part of that is down to players not giving their all.

Agree3 Disagree0

30 Apr 2016 20:23:14
My main worry is that I am more worried about winning the SPL No 6, than I was three weeks ago under Deila . First of all the Board will be doing their level best IMO to appoint a better man than RD . However with the best intentions in the world we are limited to what appears 8/ 9 possible candidates, Lambert, Lennon Martinez Moyes Rodgers etc . Anyone of these if things go well for him is capable of bringing us to new heights at home and abroad . The same person if things don't go well are well capable of doing a disastrous job . Nobody could honesty say at the time of appointment that big Tony was going to work out so badly .
The difficult thing for any Celtic Manager who is having some success in Europe ( playing in Europe after Christmas ) is getting results in the SPL at the same time . So if our new man has an European run, he could put our No 6 in jeopardy.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Never mind a European run, if the new man doesn't deliver CL football for this coming season there will be calls for his head.}

30 Apr 2016 20:56:50
Yeah gerryc bet "inexperience" wasnt an issue with your hero NL when he consistently failed during tenure and also spent a considerable amount more than Deila.

Agree3 Disagree2

30 Apr 2016 21:05:07
Old Bhoy, I think it's the league form that cost Ronny his job. The European results were disappointing but it's our league performances which have been worrying for the last couple of seasons.
In Ronny's 2 seasons the gap at the top has been getting narrower, 2 years ago it was 29 points, last year it was 17 points, this season it will likely be less than that. With Sevco in our league next season we can't afford to slip any further.
Too many times under Ronny we have underperformed in big matches, I think it would be a bigger risk not to try and reverse this trend.

Agree1 Disagree1

30 Apr 2016 21:05:38
There were too many players that played out their skins last season and were poor/ average most of this campaign and although thee manager carries the can for results, performances and consistency, I would really like to know [injuries aside] why the likes of Brown, Gordon, Johansen, Bitton and Lustig found it so difficult to find form?
Even GMS and Armstrong tapered off at the start of this season after seeming to find their feet at the tail end of last season, while Stokes, Izzaguire and Commons were among players that lost their place in the team altogether.
The failure to kick-on and improve was a real disappointment and the European results were a low point but the biggest stomach churner for me was our cup semi-final failures, in games we could have and should have won well.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Apr 2016 21:43:01
DN30, Lennon is no hero of mine, your obsession with the man is getting ridiculous.
I only comment on Ronny regarding his ability to do the job, it has absolutely nothing to do with favouring one manager over another.
I think though that you should ask yourself why you are so hostile to Lennon when in his final season he won the league by 29 points, but you are so pro Ronny, when in his 2 years at the helm has cut that winning margin by around two thirds.
Whatever has caused your loathing of Neil Lennon, don't bring me into it.

Agree0 Disagree1

30 Apr 2016 23:55:33
Why would you worry about sevco in the league next year Gerry? They've dropped as many points as us this season, against alloa, livi, dumbarton and the likes. next season away from ibrox against Aberdeen, hearts, st johnstone, dundee, hibs if they come up, they'll drop points. there is no chance they will mount any challenge next season. But oh wait, they've signed JOSH WINDASS. let me sit down.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 May 2016 00:55:16
I think we will finish well but let's not be too quick to praise. I'm unhappy at the lack of commitment I've seen from some players. With RD announcing his departure officially every player in our squad that gets game time will be playing to catch the eye of the next gaffer.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 May 2016 00:55:30
Don't think we should expect CL football no matter who comes in. The team is in dire need of being rebuilt far too many not up to it I'm one of few that was glad we didn't qualify as we would have been totally embarrassed in it the way we have been playing and still fear the worst next season too. I'd be happy with a good run in the EL like a 1/ 4 would be a good campaign for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 May 2016 00:57:22
The point I am trying to make is that we, supporters, board etc know R D strengths and weaknesses . R D knows the difficulties of winning in Scotland and has had 2 successful league campaigns behind him . The league is all about winning the league it isn't about winning by 30 pts or 10 pts . When the board picks our new manager he is going to come from an average pool of managers . He isn't going to be the best manager in the world or in Europe, he won't even be the best there is in the U K but he has to come in reshape the team in a few weeks and as the Ed says have a team successful in European Qualifying as well as preparing for SPL . Not easy for a new man and I would hate to hell to lose SPL no 6.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 May 2016 01:34:24
We made it so much harder than it has needed to be OB. There really isn't any excuse for not winning the spl all things considered. Europe is where we have a go. I don't think we were too far away from a good run this year. It was sheer carelessness and individual errors that made the real difference. Our defence is getting there and a few careful additions will help restore a bit of pride.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 May 2016 07:56:57
NT87, I think the best way to approach next season is to assume that Sevco will be a threat.
Hopefully they won't, but I would rather we treated them as possible challengers, and so build our team to combat them.
I think over the last 4 years we have been complacent and assumed nobody would get near us, in my opinion it's lead to a dramatic drop in standards, I would much rather that we treated other clubs as a danger to us then we won't be caught out.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 May 2016 22:25:56
Rglen 8 aye, u are right we arn't far from having a good competitive team . But
R D is gone. Players and systems are gone too. All starting again.

Interesting stat. Celtic pld 35 pt 80 good +55. Sevco pld 35 pts 80 good +54. Yet the breadman is acclaimed as the new messiah. Makes you wonder.

30 Apr 2016 17:36:34
They have improved this season while we have not.

Agree3 Disagree1

30 Apr 2016 18:52:12
warburton is a better manager than Delia. Just look at the last game. RD was always out of his depth and the comments that Collins and Kennedy could manage the club just show how little he really understands the club. I think it also blows away the comments from some supporters that Collins and Kennedy were forced upon him. It's clear that he rates them? So all in all it is starting to look more and more obvious that RD wS wY out of his depth.

Agree0 Disagree4

30 Apr 2016 18:57:59
Sorry again ed I feel relly bad now, (celtic and ronny are great)

Agree3 Disagree4

30 Apr 2016 19:02:33
Agree with Kev. The football they have watched is far better than the dross we've watched in the main. People still wax lyrical about Tommy Burns' team and they hardly won a thing. The fans will forgive the odd poor result if they're being entertained.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Apr 2016 20:29:47
When u are a child Kev, u are easily entertained at football& other places, teens not too bad if someone else is paying, however once u head through the 20's and pay for your own season book, it can be very hard to be entertained .
There is no way any honest impartial observer could describe Warburton's achievements as so vast in comparison to R D.

Agree0 Disagree2

30 Apr 2016 22:42:46
Ed, i was not trying to be funny or anything when I asked your opinion on warburton as a manager i'm intrested in your thoughts.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - I don't have an opinion on him, he's not important enough or knowledgeable enough about football to even be on my radar. I'd have done a better job managing TRIFC this year and wouldn't have needed penalties to beat the five-in-a-row champions of the country. What's your opinion of Mrs Warburton, right now she's far more important to TRIFC than her hubby is, some would even say she's more important to TRIFC than Dave King's £30 million investment.}

01 May 2016 00:01:37
How can people even compare warburton to deila. In Spain do they compare Barcelona to alaves and elche?

Warburton is playing against players who play as a hobby alongside their full time job. people seem to forget. it's not actually comparable.

Agree2 Disagree1

01 May 2016 10:34:54
Old Bhoy I am a 33 year old father of 4 who has paid for my season ticket since I started work at 16.
I can see with my own eyes that Warburton has improved them this season and Ronny hasn't improved us.
Yes they and the press are going over the top but I can see why they are happy and why we are not.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 May 2016 22:28:30
So Kev83 u watch Sevco playing part timers . Is this in person or on TV.
Sevco use TV viewing to get more matches shown.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 May 2016 12:18:58
Strange answer ed but ok, i asked mainly because the football rangers are playing more so in the semi is the kind of football celtic fans want and thought they were going to get under ronny, who from what I've read you rate very highly.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I've no idea what kind of football TRIFC usually play as I don't watch lower league football, if I wanted to watch bus drivers and plumbers play I'll go down the local park, I'm not even sure if i get BBC Alba.
Considering you seem to think you played this brilliant football and we didn't you'd think you would have had us beat long before penalties. We had 33 shots at goal - and that was us playing garbage. Imagine what we'll do when we play better next season, I hardly think TRIFC signing a couple of diddies on a free from Accrington Stanley is giving Peter Lawwell any sleepless nights.}

02 May 2016 14:46:03
Ok ed i'm away to imagine just how good celtic will be next season, you will be hoping better than under ronny, the guy who was dragging your club into modern day forward thinking football (your words) the best manager in scotland (also your words) .

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Good to see your keeping up with Scotland's top club while your new team works it's way up the leagues. Ronny Deila has easily proven to the best manager in Scotland these past two seasons, we've got 2 league titles to show for it and the statistics are there to back it up. Robbie Neilson from Hearts has proven over time to be a top young manager and apart from RD is by far the best in Scotland, then there's Derek McInnes who has worked wonders at Aberdeen as has John Hughes at Inverness.
And remember all those men are managing in the top level of Scotland, anything outside that is comparable to amateur level you can see on any public park. For the budget TRIFC have borrowed they should have coasted through that league and yet they have lost more league games than Celtic this year who have played vastly superior opposition week in and week out. How do you explain that?
If Mrs Warburton let's Mark stay and TRIFC make the top six next season that will be seen as a major success. Without major investment your inexperienced players and manager will struggle playing against a better standard of opposition every week - there's no part time teams in the top league. And a 53 year old inexperienced manager at that, he won't know what's hit him next season and if he doesn't get off to a flier there will be calls for him to be sacked.
Between his personal problems and how difficult it's going to be in TRIFCs debut season in the top league I don't see Warburton being here to see us win 6 in a row. I don't think he'll face the humiliation of being sacked from the TRIFC job, it would be a sore one for a 54 year old to have been sacked from the only two jobs he's had in management.
I've seen plenty of TRIFC fans on the live chat questioning the manager's tactics during matches so at least there are some of you looking at things logically. You should maybe have a word with some of them and keep your feet on the ground.}

02 May 2016 15:49:52
Do you watch a lot of accrington games then ed, can you tell me in what way are they diddies, so I can tell some of the boys on our bus, they seem to think they look decent but I don't know if they have seen as much of them as you. you know to a have an opinion on them, cheers.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - They're 22/23 and playing in the FOURTH tier of English football - that's the Fourth Division - there's nothing else needs to be said. And seriously mate, well done on trying to get 'ra peepul' on your bus talking about football, that should help cut down on the sectarian and racist singing and chanting. You're doing a good thing there and you should be proud of yourself for trying to educate them, past experience tells me you're pissing in the wind though but good luck.
It must be some bus when you're on a CFC site asking a CFC supporter for his thoughts to share with them - I'll take a wild stab in the dark and say that you're not the brains of this particular operation.
Has your bus looked into what school the Accrington lads went to, you know, the important stuff you all get hung up on?}

02 May 2016 18:10:01
Poor show wee man with the no reply stance you have taken, but any of your usual posters no doubt will look at your last reply and think about how witty and untouchable you are, so you should be proud of yourself you done really good.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'm not here to take abuse from the likes of you. I was being civil even answering you as I try not to mix with people of your ilk but you had to resort to type so the conversation is now over. I'm bored playing with you for now so it's back in your box for today sadly. I might keep you around as some kind of pet to annoy when the mood takes but I've yet to decide that, I'll mull it over while I have my dinner. You need to work on your manners though, and deal with the scuffs on your knuckles.
That should give you time to phone round the boys from the bus and tell them how raging I've got you today. I'm sure they'll all be as raging as you.
Before I forget I don't want to be seeing any other posts that lead to the likes of this from you:

30 Apr 2016 18:42:44

Ed, sorry for that last post, i can understand why you didnt put it up, i did not think about why that post would upset you or anyone else but after reading it again I get it, sorry again x.

And after your shameless and mortifying grovelling to a stranger on the internet I still gave you a chance and was civil to you. I couldn't care less what anyone thinks of me, especially a total stranger on the internet.
And what the hell was the kiss on the end all about? I'm flattered mate but I'm WAY out of your league even if I did go in for some backdoor shenanigans. Each to their own though and I'm sure you and the boys on your bus are very happy.
I've actually worked up quite a hunger toying with you today, bon appetit. I guess that I really did 'done really good'.}

30 Apr 2016 16:29:33
Great result today, always nice to win at their place. Plenty of energy desire and commitment today. Happy for RD as well to leave with this success behind him. Hopefully a top quality manager next year will lead us onto bigger and better things. A special word for Efe today thought he did really well particularly dealing with their crosses. Well done LG should be the Scottish player of the year no doubt.

Agree0 Disagree1

30 Apr 2016 17:57:34
Watching efe today and I know some have said he should play DM before but I think that could be a good position for him he played some good forward passes instead of the usual play along the back 4 till brown or Bitton come and take it.

Agree0 Disagree1

30 Apr 2016 18:12:14
It amazes me that when ambrose plays and actually doesn't make an arse of it, which is his job by the way! It amazes me that people start comin out with he could play RB because he plays there for his country or he could play this or that position! The guy is a clown and a total liability! And the Nigerian fans think so to! Because he makes mistakes on a regular basis with them to! He should be the first to go in the summer! I could sit here and name the games he's made an absolute howler in or been sent off but I would be here all night!

Agree6 Disagree1

30 Apr 2016 19:04:46
The one thing I will say Beav is he never, ever hides and gives his all every time. If our better players tried as hard as him we would have been in the CL groups this year and had at least a double.

30 Apr 2016 19:53:32
Doesn't matter how good ambrose plays there is always a big mistake round the corner

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Apr 2016 20:33:23
It's very difficult for Ambrose not to make a mistake . The abuse he has to listen to from the stands and read in the forum is unreal . Especially when you know the loudest of his critics never got picked for a team over 16 years old.

Agree0 Disagree2

30 Apr 2016 21:02:11
Old Bhoy There is no valid defence of Ambrose, he is out of his depth. Far too many serious mistakes that have cost dearly. Any footballer who let's fans affect their game is clearly not standard required to play at this level.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Apr 2016 21:05:40
When ambrose first signed can't remember which game and who against but he played the dm position. He was excellent that day, I thought that first season he should probably be a dm. Too error prone to play anywhere across the backline, saying that still think it's time for him to move, efe's concentration is what let's him down, I don't think it's something that can be taught either.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 May 2016 01:02:34
That was in the League Cup against one of them Championship teams .

I have to say one thing tonight when some of us are Celebrating 5 in a row, others prefer to ridicule one of our players and we are supposed to be the best fans in the world, well we are certainly not the best supporters in the world.

Thanks Ed looking forward to it, Had a great night at Noel Gallagher last week at the Hydro. Pretty eventful summer i have the Stone Roses in Dublin and Manchester. Right i better get on with this gloating, there's plenty glum faces in Maroon :-D.

30 Apr 2016 16:19:03
I was in Largs last week where the local drama group put on a Gallagher and Lyle themed play. (All the songs were Gallagher and Lyle's) At the end of the show, after the actors had taken their bows. Gallagher and Lyle actually came on and sang. Audience was on its feet.

Glad to help, I'll write a note and get intouch with them next week just to give them a heads up to see what they can do, Easy enough for them to arrange. Hopefully they tour this year.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Here don't think I'm looking for a freebie or that Stan, it's just you've no idea the difficulty in going out to places you take for granted when you're on crutches, even going to the football is a nightmare because of where you need to park unless you get a pass from the Club and they are like gold-dust. Remember the Norwich friendly a couple of years back, a very dear and special friend arranged for two tickets right at the front row whwre my legs could be straight (my leg was in a right mess at the time and I could hardly walk even with crutches) but after the match it took us about two hours to get back to where their car was.
While I'm on a rant, years ago when I first had my accident I was on crutches and casts on both legs but we were playing Rangers and I wasn't going to miss that, my mate's dad ran us in nice and early but after the game the police shut London Road and wouldn't let a taxi through to pick me and two mates up, we eventually had to walk up to get the service bus on Tollcross Road
It's my Mrs 40th in July and I was planning on getting tickets for the WWE at the Hydro for us, we went once before to the NEC in Birmingham and had a VIP package including food etc that Ed001 treated us to. I was hoping to get the same kind of deal but as soon as I mentioned I was on crutches the prices shot up to a second hand car, even seats with just a few stairs to get to were dearer than if I was walking.}

Cheers mate 👍🏻.

{Ed007's Note - I'm not much a gambler mate, I used to stick a £5 on a fixed odds if I was at a game but it's only over the last year or so that I've been putting £2 on a 5 team BTTS acc and £1 on three teams BTTS and a winner on a Saturday is my stretch but it's our duty to tell you to be careful pal. I mean I won £39 last week and put £18 of it back into my bank account lol. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I bet £10 on something and it lost, I'm far too miserable to be a gambler like Ed023 and Tim. Oh tell a lie, I did win some money from a horse tip and a golf tip from Ed023 but that was from winnings on my BTTS which is a great bet imo, it can be up at half time and not beat until the final whistle. I pick 5 teams and that usually gives you a minimum of around 20-1 but sometimes it can be better. My other bet can be a hit and miss but I've had a couple up and with the three teams BTTS and winner you can easily get odds of over 100-1, once I had both up on the one night and cleared £178 for my £3 outlay.
I really only do it for an interest as I'm sitting here watching and talking about football all day and I'd have spent a lot more than £3 when I was bevvying.}

Yes ED007 I get pestered by so called "experts" on my mobile all the time, while this site gives FREE (and profitable) tips. ED023 puts a lot of thought into his selections and we are fortuneate to benefit from this.

Agree with your sentiments ED007 always be careful when betting, it's only fun when it is a hobby and not an addiction. But when you win and then you are betting with the bookies money, that is fun.

We have a customer who comes into my shop on a Saturday, he used to give us tips, everytime I put these bets on they never came in, and when I never bet. they'd win. a few weeks bk when there was the Scottish national or whatever its called my mate had his betting account up and we all decided to stick a tenner on a horse, I picked the eventual winner but at the last minute changed my mind and chose another. think it was 18-1 at the time. Think I'll stay off your tips page because I'd definitely jinx the ed's tips.

Ed, Rogic on the bench!? Is this PL interfering again.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I'm not convinced about PL's interference in team selection, it would be more the kind of thing Park would do perhaps on behalf of PL.}

30 Apr 2016 12:08:05
My thinking behind it is the contract situation.

The Rogic situation aside, It's obvious Commons is out the picture, so why put him on the bench every week when he's never going to play?

He mightn't want him to make a big issue like Stokes.

Hi ED

How's the dietary stuff coming along?

A couple of people I know (PTs and Boxers) are waxing lyrical about Primal BluePrint Diet (and a general ketosis focused diet) . These are supposedly very good from a health and energy PoV - especially in regards to anyone suffering from diabetes. I thought it may be of interest to you.

A friend of mine (he is type 2) is going to try it, so either way I'll let you know how it/ he goes buddy.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - It's going terrible mate, if I was a dog I'd happily let them put me down.}

30 Apr 2016 13:44:43
If the diet is for weight loss, a good padlock on fridge works a treat lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - If only it was that easy buddy. Imagine waking up with the hangover from hell and the flu and you're getting close, and remember I don't even drink any more so I'm not even getting the enjoyment out of that. I could murder a bottle of Tonic right now though lol.}}

30 Apr 2016 14:44:21
Doesnt sound good ed. Been a while since i was on the tonic, i was more a mad dog connoisseur lol.

{Ed007's Note - It's been a few years since any alcohol passed my lips mate.}

Sorry to hear that ED. I'll see how he gets on and keep you posted. From what I hear it's horrible for the first month (as it's essentially a detox) but does wonders thereafter.

{Ed007's Note - I've took a note of it mate and will mention it to the doc or nurse this week when I'm there, cheers.}

{Ed007's Note - Thanks, Chris but that's something I'd rather not get into on here mate. You can probably guess the explanation from that reply so I hope I haven't offended you and thanks again for your concern.}

Hail Hail all. Two players made the team of the year. Shocking stuff. But true. LG there because of his goals and young Tierney there because he has been absolutely tremendous. High time we filled the rest of the squad with celtic class players. We have a squad of decent fringe players IMO. Well done to Tierney. Top class son. Here's to next season When hopefully the young left back is supplying two strikers with his crosses. One can only hope. Mon the hoops.

That should be a wake up call for the rest of the team, win the league (potentially) but find neither you, nor most of your teammates, have been mentioned as one of the better players in the league. This surely must be motivation for the others to go out and prove themselves. Or am I asking too much?

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Apr 2016 09:47:36
As much as it hurts to see so few Celtic players chosen - when we are the best team in the league - it's a true reflection on the inconsistency of the team and under-performing players - not to mention the poor standard of the opposition.
All season, we have very rarely played like champions or produced the quality of football the support expects from a Celtic side and although we sit top of the pile, we need to improve big-time.
The new manager should be a proven motivator and leader to come in and get more out of the majority of this squad and bring in real quality where we need it to replace the 'never-will-be's.

According to a certain newspaper Ronny is suggesting that Collins and Kennedy are good enough to take over from him. He said he has learnt a lot from Collins. To me that sounds like an admission that he himself was never right for the job if an idiot like Collins can teach you stuff!

As it is now well established that RD is a first class dud, how could he possibly think that anyone would seriously consider any recommendation coming from him.

My biggest fear is that all along JC will have been pushing for the manager's job. The club wouldn't do that much to us though surely.

There's is no way in hell John Collins will be the next manager! Lawell would get lynched outside Celtic park if there was even a hint of this happening! RD once again is spouting utter pish! And had done since the day he joined us! Only a few more weeks of listening to it and hopefully we'll have a manager in who knows his arse from his elbow!
