The players they brought in where first team players , 4 players where left out 3 where on the bench and came on .
celtic had 7 players out the team . Foster , Izaguirre , Wilson ., Du-Ri, Brown , commons and stokes. but i guess thatceltic players not playing doesn't count also mark wilson on bench too. so is that celtic B team who played tonight as Zaluska,Matthews,Wanyama,Bangura also forrest is not a first team player when brown is fit. Celtic played players in there first team squad as did Uninese . they might not be there best team on paper but either was celtic's.
It goes both ways.

Looking at the Disagree on this , Must be a Rangers fan still bitter . look at the facts before you disagree . did you see the game tonight all the players mentioned where all out . and the players in are squad players . what is there to disagree about.
Just a rangers fan because celtic managed to get a point in Europe and the only way they can get a sleep tonight is to think celtic's first full team drew against Udinese's b team . well it must have both b teams tonight then.

I disagree with the first post did celtic play their preferred starting 11 apart from izzy or brown. who is celtics starting 11 i dont think even Neil Lennon knows

Great result for the Bhoys tonight.Wee Lennon bringing in some of the fringe players that haven't had much game time,Zaluskas Wanyama and Bangura.Shows the strength and depth we have in our squad when we use games like this to get some players experience and match sharpness.Ki looks back to his best and Hooper just oozes class and the makeshift defence done its job well.Looking fantastic for the rest of the season and with the magnificent GB backing the Bhoys the season can only get better.

Got to say our defence looked alot more asssured tonight. dunno if that was their confidence in Zaluska or the awsome Wanyama breaking up play

Probably had something to do with udinese playing their B team tonight. dropped 8 players from their league game at the weekend.
Agree4
Disagree2
Wanyama was my man of the match tonight. Outstanding at breaking up play.
As for the defence I agree - all played well.
My only gripe (other than a last minute-ish penalty...argh) is that Lennon didn't stick someone on for an attacker to help out the defence in the last 10 min. Udinese upped their game in the 2nd half and were probably decent value for the draw in the 2nd half despite their keeper playing a blinder. I was hoping he'd stick someone on to try and hold the lead for the last 10. I know we don't do 4-5-1 too well when it comes to playing entire games, but I reckon an extra guy on to help the defence could've kept them at bay as they were getting men forward in numbers and we were at times struggling to get out of our own half. His substitutions are curious to say the least.
(did Wanyama get MotM over the tannoy? left pretty sharp after the final whistle.) {Ed007's Note - I'd have gave it to their GK.}
Agree1

Fair point ED! 3 or 4 amazing saves. Guess I should rephrase: of the Celtic players, Wanyama was my man of the match. {Ed007's Note - I was impressed with him as well, when you look at the players that were missing I think it is a great result, maybe not fair after seeing the match, but this is still against a top team.}

Wld like to touch on the GOC from Hibs topic.
Quite simply wld u like to have him coming on tonite or the Greek tragedy to force the game? GOC has scored 10 goals this season, Samaras hasnt reached that in 2 years. Look what happened when he did come on, absolutely frustrating again. Couple of good touches spoiled by several others.
Furthermore, all fans who want to claim the moral high ground, if Tevez came to us tomorrow for free every fan would go mental, loving it.
So fellow celts, spare me the moral dilemas
Before you start, I'm a fan over over 30 years and still not 40! {Ed007's Note - Tevez? Didn't we have enough of players like that with Viduka and Van Hooijdonk? Remember the trouble they caused? It is no moral high ground, it is the good name of the club.}

I support any player that wears the hoops. Samaras is an easy target and doesn't deserve half the stick he gets. People should start backing the players we have instead of worrying about who may or may not come.

Got to disagree with you mate.
What Tevez done to the Man City fans is unforgiveable. They spent their cash to follow their team, and he can't even be bothered to help them out when they need him most. I most definitely wouldn't want him near Celtic, even if he played for nothing. He acted like a spoiled child.

Did we not get shot of wee strachan to bring in someone to take the team to another level? we sure have reached another level when we were cock a hoop about winning the scots cup last season..strachan was winng tittles..now look at us..teh leagues looking beyond us..are we to be plased if we finish with the league cup this season?..things need changing if a league cup is all we have to show come may {Ed007's Note - Mowbray took us to another level completely, down the way, so NL has done his job by taking us up the way. May is eight months away, why not wait until then and decide?}
Agree3

Fair enough.but finishing with no league tittle again then bring in a coupl of free agents and spending 2 odd mill to do battle next season aint gonna cut it for me..

What are you on about saying the league looks beyond us.
We have played 8 games, we are 7 points behind Rangers with a home game against Dunfermline in hand. There are 90 points left to play for, 3 games against Rangers, 2 at home, and you reckon it is now beyond us.
You sound like a real positive guy to have around, cheer up Mr Moggadon!

I dont think half the fans who post on here even go to the games. To slag Sameras off for tonights game is shocking , the draw had nothing to do with Sameras everyone wants to jump on the bandwagon.
I for one aint Sameras's biggest fan and have cast my frustration towords him on occasions when i thought he deserved it but no one can point the finger at him tonight.
Sameras made a bad tackle in a bad possition at the edge of the box but so did kayal and wanyama no one says anything about that. also Sameras played a bad ball to Bangura when he was running on goal accepted yes , but no on ementions when he turns a defender on the right touch line runs the full half of the pitch and plays a great ball to hooper who hits a defender with the ball. Everyone is quick to jump on the guy , deserved sometimes but not tonight.
the first 25 minutes celtic where fantastic , high tempo and controlled the game , then the same happens again we start to slow down the play and sit back , dont close down quick enough and let teams come at us.
Hooper , Bangura , forrest , ki , kayal where fantastic in the first half running after everything chasing down defenders in the first half.
2nd half Udinese took control of possesion yet the keeper pulled off 3 world class saves , they may have the possetion but they did nothing with it . yet attacking Hooper , Bangura and forrest fell out the game . People are making comments about Udinese playing a reserve team they only dropped 4 players .
Celtic where without Izaguirre , K. Wilson , Cha Di-Ri, Brown , Commons and dropped stokes so we had a few players out .
I dont think it was a penalty so the drew hurts but there are possitives to take from the game even if so called celtic fans are saying there's not . Our defence played very well and so did our goalie .
We need to close down sooner and stop players coming on to them .
But hey shoot me down if you want but look at the game as a whole not just what sameras done.
Hail Hail

I agree. The attitude towards Samaras by some supporters is shocking. I'm not his biggest fan by any stretch but getting on his back and blaming him for any team shortcomings just because he's on the pitch is out of order. I actually feel for the guy.
As for the penalty my first thoughts were that it was a penalty, but haven't seen any replays. Most supporters seem to think it wasn't but then there's always going to be bias. Thought we might've had at least two in the first half mind you.

Good team effort I felt couldn't fault the starting 11,1st half anyway though ki was tired at points but still gave a good shift, as for wanyana & bangura sp felt they were great, think the big man will do good at Celtic & glad he got 90 min under his belt. As for Sami, everyone knows my views of the guy so enough said.
All Europe is,for Celtic is very good business (the whole getting back in carry on) 4-5 million for sion making a bum of them self if (big if) we win the league & get knocked out of europe then quids in. Lose the league (will come back to this point) then the 4-5 million I think will be used for a new manager coz personally don't see Lennon in a job more so if we lose this league.
Also the whole commons,samaras,moving hooper/stokeys & all the other stuff ie loovans etc will cost Lennon his job if all goes boo boo
All the same good game but the score & hopfully we should rip hearts a part
**tell me if I have the green glasses on or not but see most if not all of celtics chances they were from fouls ? Ie gettin the ball then them just wiping us out causing free kicks ? **
Come on you bhoys in green !

There was a lot more urgency from the team tonight, played at a much higher tempo which was good to see. Hooper and Bangura worked really hard defending from the front. Absolutely right though, Lennon needs to establish his best 11 and stick with it.
A draw was probably a fair result, however Udinese only played with 4 regulars I think. All in all, not really sure how I feel about the result tonight.
Samaras is in a predicament, feel a bit sorry for the boy, however it just isn't happening for him.......Miko

Let's be totally honest and look at the results and agree Lennon and his 'backroom buddies' are not up to the job of moving Celtic forward. We have lost any shred of credibility in Europe thanks to him (and Mowbray) and we go into domestic games guessing what team he might fling together on any given week?
Never mind bad decisions and nae luck etc. This was a team of Italian weans and we could only manage a penalty goal.
Celtic's once great reputation in Europe has evaporated and he has managed to fall 7 points behind a rookie managed Rangers into the bargain and its only september.
Sorry but enough is enough of this man and his clue-less attempt at managing my beloved Celtic

Jim,you say they were weans, but look at all our players 23 and under.
Mathews, Forrest, KI, wanyama, bangura, kayal,Hooper.Also Mathews, Bangura, and Wanyama have only had a couple of starts between the 3 of them.
So getting some experience for these guys was good.

HOW compared to Lennon is McCoist a rookie ? 6yrs under WS at Scotland & rangers AND WS is still attending most games for whatever reason..as a fan - home & away ?! Our Weans matched their weans tonight....
I'm not a deluded fan BTW...I will be really disappointed if we don't buy a centre half in January & know our ahem limitations in Europe

We have lost any shred of credibility in Europe thanks to him (and Mowbray)
Not Mowbray's biggest fan, but he got us through a difficult tie in Moscow and then went out to a superior Arsenel side, (with unlucky own goal by Caldwel and a blatent dive for a penalty at the Emerates). Hardly loosing a respectabilty.
Last year we went out to Braga who went on to the Europa league final and had a collapse in Utrecht. Still won two games. I think we can do better and we could have won last night but lost all credability? Came down dear

Celtic Ed, don't you find it strange that our friend timaloy leaves for a while, "miko" appears, we rangers fans think it is one and the same person, please check IP and if it is I hope you will ban this a**ehole from all the sites, after all the trouble timaloy caused on LFC site. a Fair Minded Bear {Ed007's Note - It wasn't Tim that started the trouble, it was a pathetic Rangers. What I do find strange is how the Rangers fans are so infatuated by Tim and are completely paranoid about who posts where and as what. I can assure you that Tim has only ever posted as himself, you can't change your IP and then go back to the original one you use. Miko has a completely different IP and if you read the posts there are signs of where they stay etc. I am not going over this BS time and time again. Editors decided who gets banned and blocked, not anyone else. You do realise that your post and your name are contradicting each other. I suggest maybe you should realise this is a banter site and not some some conspiracy to feed your paranoia of who posts, where they post or what their IP is. For your information the Rangers fans and site is probably the worst for people pretending to be something they are not, even posing as CFC fans to stir it and answering their own posts etc.}

Dont want to labour point ed, but guy on LFC site Johnson 6, told us on Rangers site that timaloy had posted obscenities about him. Why was this allowed and why was this timaloy not pulled up over it.
Fair Minded Bear {Ed007's Note -Why are you on a CFC site asking questions about the LFC site? Go on there. It was a Rangers fan pretending to be Tim, what actual part of that can you not understand??? You are starting to annoy me with this, if you are missing Tim I can give you his e-mail address and you can see if he fancies the pictures or that. If not, give me peace. You really are a very pathetic individual. Grow up.}

Ed you should calm doon you seem like an angry man for some reason ps is there a problem with any of my recent posts or are you just ignoring me till i go away jmgers {Ed007's Note - This is the first post of yours I've seen, if they were signed. I'm calm JM, it is just really so pathetic all this garbage and putting up with idiot Rangers fans paranoia about what someone has done on another site. How many times do we have to say it was a Rangers fan that caused ALL of this. Obviously it is Rangers fans trying to be smug because of the hassle it has caused Tim and then this nugget keeps harping on and on and on about it. As for Johnson6, go and ask him on LFC pages what supposedly got said. I can't believe grown men are acting like 10 year olds carrying tales, trawling sites to 'report back' and then don't have the minerals to even leave a name or tag.}

Very positive performance tonight only to be robbed by a joke of a decision. Defence solid, Ki and Kayal played well as did wayama(who must be a regular now!) Front 2 worked their socks off. Rennes games are now vital. Ill always support any player who wears the hoops but Samaras must surely be done, he didn't do one thing right when he came on tonight! Terrific game. I thought the referee was excellent. I'd far rather the ref took a moment or two to come to the correct decision, rather than jumping in and getting it wrong. Difficult to argue with their penalty. If you imagine Jelly or Laugherty doing what Hooper did, I reckon we'd be screaming for a penalty.
That said, a vastly improved performance tonight.

Tony if you can't be honest or neutral f off back to the Rangers banter page , that was never a penalty in the creation of hell , define throwing himself into the guy ? he stood his ground with his arms above him out of the way , the player Neuton ran into him and threw himself to the ground , the referee had the perfect view , but still gave a shocking decision , Celtic played well tonight , albeit against a weakened Udinese team , they deserved to win , but were once again cheated out of victory , if happened to Rangers i would be honest and man enough to say so , you just can't take off the blue tinted specs my man .

Afternoon Ed007, just in for quick bite then off to game with my two nephews tonight. My dad took me to different european games when I was young and gave me a love for the big european nights, hope I can instill that passion into my two nephews regardless where they go to watch european football.
Just wanted to say that due to heavier work committments I will not posting for a while (that and Mrs T angry with me also) Please all you bears on here trying to chase me away, I am leaving under my terms not because of your silly antics. LOL Timalloy
Ps a wee song especially for my "stalker" on LFC site "they're coming to take you away ha ha hee hee {Ed007's Note - Take care Tim mate.}

Quick question hopefully someone can answer.
How is it that when some clubs enter administration they are deducted points (points deduction varies from league to league) and other clubs (livingston and gretna) are demoted to Division 3 ? {Ed007's Note - All teams are deducted points ten points, Livingston and Gretna couldn't guarantee meeting their duties as member clubs and breached the rules covering insolvency.}

What is this about O'Connor being linked with us?
The transfer window is over 3 months away and we have to concentrate on the squad in hand - like it or not - instead of drooling after a guy who hits a purple patch (in the SPL)and has a very patchy and troubled history on and off the park.
We hesitated in the past over Fletcher and McCarthy etc and missed out on real talent when we should have been bolder and more ambitious and it's a sad day when some are getting OTT about another player well below the 'class' I expect to see
pull on the 'Hoops'.
