Here we go, Aberdeen want a 50/50 Hampden ticket split against Celtic.

The SPFL gave Sevco 36,000 tickets and SS could only sell 11,000.

I would give them 15,000 tickets and Celtic the rest. If they can't sell them all then they need to send them back.

It is a final, give them 20,000 with the proviso any unsold tickets go to Celtic.

30 Oct 2018 11:53:10
There’s an argument that the fans who attended the semis for Celtic and SS should get tickets first. If u weren’t at semis u should wait for Lottery for any leftovers.

So an initial 32,000 to Celtic and 11,000 to SS.

Thereafter 50/50.

Teams should be entitled to a 50/ 50 split but with a strict deadline. Any unsold tickets by that deadline should then be up for grabs for the opposing fans.

Excellent headline.

The SPFL officially has Jamesy Forrest as the second goal scorer at 66minutes. But we saw on video Christie put it in over the line and cheating goalie scooped it out.

If Jamesy hadn't blasted it in Celtic wouldn't have had that honest goal. Refs need video review in cup games. It worked in the World Cup.

Two goals and a penalty down to Ryan Christie. Give that man a Cigar!

Believable6 Unbelievable0

29 Oct 2018 18:06:49
How did the goalie cheat grey think it was the linesman at fault.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Oct 2018 10:49:39
It is clear that it was Christie’s goal, but it is also clear that the linesman made another honest mistake and didn’t give it. If anybody thinks that we would have got it if Forrest hadn’t buried they clearance, then they may also be interested in my backlog of five magic beans I have going cheap.

If the goal was given, it’s Christie’s, it wasn’t. It’s Forrest's goal because if he hadn’t put it away, we would have got feck all. Honest mistakes my arse. We cannot rely of them playing fair, cheating to undermine us is the norm when any close call appears. Then we get the rubbish from Sevconian livers that it was difficult to see bollocks.

Forrest had to make sure, if he hadn’t, it would have remained 1.0. For a while at least. Forrest’s goal.

As the season goes on and the penny has dropped that Sevco are utter over hyped piss, these incidents will increase to try and help them. It’s been the same deal my whole life watching football here. It won’t be enough and if we strengthen in January, this isn’t their long wished for end to their nightmare of choking in our dust, it’s just the beginning. Let’s do it Celtic.

It couldn't beat the laugh I got yesterday, thinking of the SPFL/ SFA who tried everything in their power to help Sevco and ended up with the the final that they had done everything in their power to prevent.
Great performance in the second half, If we had scored 7 I don't think Hearts could have complained. Their only tactic was to stop us playing and as soon as we got the opener they crumbled.
I was quite impressed with Murrayfield, it's only the second time I have been there but in my opinion it's far superior to Hampden. I wouldn't mind if all the big games were played there.

Despite his obvious faux pas, I thought Zlamal played a blinder. Would’ve been at least 5 but for his performance. Wonder how many it would have been if it wasn’t for the split in the Celtic dressing room. Maybe Boydie can answer that one.

Brendan on Griff:

""He's now back looking to get training. He's nearly clear of his calf injury, so once he can get his work done and get up to speed in training, we'll assess it from there.

"I've no timeline on it. Hopefully, he can get back soon. "

So there we have it. No more daft rumours please.

He's had a calf injury. Had some scans and about to restart training to get match fit.

I know there's still a lot of football to be played this season but a treble treble would be an unbelievable feat. IMO it would probably be a bigger achievement than 10iar. League titles can be won with losing a few games, if we were to win treble treble it must mean we have went 27 cup ties undefeated and if I remember correctly none going to extra time. Still desperate for the 10 tho😁.

The way BR and the players tackle every single cup tie, I wouldn't put it past them. I can't remember in over 50 years a Celtic team that was so consistent in consecutive cup matches?
Watching the highlights again right now and hunger, confidence and quality is flowing right through the whole squad.
Europe might be a sore point at this time, but how can we complain, when - as wee Bertie would say about Jock's team:- We are being so well entertained - and spoiled rotten with domestic dominance.

I’m not sure if any of us really appreciate how astonishing this current Celtic team is. In part we’ve become so used to winning that we expect it. We’re also probably influenced in part by media bampots saying we’re in crisis or there’s a split in the dressing room, dip of form, Slippy G’s a genius etc. Even if we only win the league this year, that will still be an incredible three years but, who knows, the quality we have might be enough to do a third treble and I think the desire is there. All my life I’ve gone around thinking ‘it must’ve been amazing to have been old enough to experience Lisbon’ I wonder in years to come if younger Celtic supporters will think, ‘I wish I’d experienced the Brendan Rogers years’?

Ed can keep us right on this.

There's a uefa rule whereby each team has to field three or four homegrown lads in CL and EL.

We have Broony, Forrest, Christie, Gordon, Hendry, Griffiths, Bain, Tierney, Morgan, McGregor.

Some are getting old. Then there's illness, injuries and disqualification.

If you sub a Scot off, u need to sub a scot on to be compliant.

Celtic really needs Scotland's top 12 players in our squad. We lost Armstrong.

GMS is Scotland quality easy. We should be looking at bringing him back. We need to cherry pick the best in Scotland to be compliant in Europe.

It also deprives domestic opposition of the best guys.

If someone gave me the option Scott Allen or GMS its a no brainier. And for me ditto Hayes and Kouassi. Unseen and eternally injured.

GMS and Christie work fantastically well together (2 years experience) .

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Clubs competing in UEFA competitions have no obligation to put a specified number of home grown players on the field of play or in the match day squad.}

29 Oct 2018 12:13:14
GHB are you related to GMS by any chance?

Agree3 Disagree0

29 Oct 2018 12:17:44
Cheers Ed, well that’s most of that post blasted to pieces on a misunderstanding. Were the rules changed? Was it a previous requirement?

The issue of cherry picking the best in the domestic game still stands. It deprives opposition, they’re usually cheap, they know our game and weather/ no settling in.

Ref GMS, players do go away and become even better.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Since season 2008/09 you need a minimum of eight homegrown players in the 25-man squad but the only time I can remember a rule like that was the three-foreigner rule that was scrapped in the 90s.
As for GMS, there was never any question about his ability but he couldn't handle being at a Club the size of ours, the expectation weighed him down.}

Last post on the GMS issue:

Yesterday was a showpiece cup semi final for players. There was a full spectrum marked difference in two performances.

GMS was awesome superb and Kouassi was pants.

I know who should be drawing a Celtic wage from the two.

{Ed007's Note - The thought of GMS as a CDM gives me the fear.}

That’s unfair! I wasn’t comparing positions but performances.

And again, perhaps he has matured and could now fill a Celtic jersey with confidence. People change.

Mclean would never have got as good a grip on GMS as he did Kouassi to be fair lol.

29 Oct 2018 13:48:05
GMS was incapable of making the step-up to the standards and demands of our unique club and like when he was at Dundee Utd, he has found a confidence and consistency at their level.
Unfortunately it looks like Johnny Hayes is another one who flattered to deceive at our main rival and may also find himself finding his form and future elsewhere.
It was proven in the summer that we need to add better quality than we have in certain areas to compete at CL/ EL level and in my opinion GMS (as good as he may have been yesterday) is not true Celtic class.

I can't understand the fuss about Sadiq. For many years I have seen the rangers supporters referred to as the gullibles on this site and Sadiq is the proof of the truth of this. It amazes me how they didn't realise that Sadiq would have received his orders from Francis before leaving Rome for Glasgow.

Christie out of contract in the summer. Do we offer a new contract or is this the type of squad player we have to get off the wage bill?

There's many in front of him in the queue to get punted. Tbf he's spent a fair bit of his Celtic career on loan where he was a regular with the sheep, it would be foolish to punt him now. Hopefully he can make the same impact now that McGregor did after he spent a few seasons on loan at Notts county I think it was.

It was good to see him make such an impact as up until now he has been unable to establish himself under different Celtic managers.
However, with so many midfield players in the squad we really need to off-load quite a few (including sending one or two out on loan) .
We are crying out for an Armstrong type player and although, Christie is a bit lightweight, he really got involved yesterday and must have impressed the manager, his team-mates and the support. Well done.
