Use our rumours form to send us celtic transfer rumours.

29 Nov 2017 23:23:00
Is it just me or have we been shocking this season.

We started off well and looked like we had strength in depth. Now we had 1 rb and 1 lb. Jozo and boyata don't seem anywhere near the level of last year due to carrying injuries. Armstrong not a goal threat anymore it seems. Sinky and paddy not playing well. Rogic for some reason not getting a game. Moussa injured.

Although we have been so poor and only good game i've seen us play was vs aberdeen away, we are still top of league, cup in the bag and chance of Europa (i reckon were in for a nervy one vs anderlecht) .

In saying that i've seen better celtic teams lose cup finals etc so i hope things can kick on now. We have a lot of games coming up so i hope we can pick up form before winter break.

Injuries and a big invincible monkey on your back can do that to any team. We have been poor at times, been thumped a couple more. I think we have been brave as well, dug deep and won matches no matter what has been thrown at us.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - We just need to step it up a gear, we know this squad is capable of destroying any team in Scotland but we don't seem to be playing with the same intensity as we've seen.
The players themselves will know they've not been at their best and after the CL ends and the break until hopefully the EL starts for us we can get back into our rhythm and tighten our grip on our domestic domination.
I said on the live chat, whenever we go to Fir Park we either run riot or struggle to get anything, thankfully the ref made up for wrongly giving Motherwell the free-kick at their goal by rightly awarding our penalty - see these things do even themselves out over a season.}

30 Nov 2017 07:07:34
I think how teams are setting up against us this year is different to last year as well. There are times that some teams have all 11 of their player in and around the box. Making it hard to break them down.

Don’t think shocking is the right word mate but we’ve been nowhere near the levels of last season! The goals have dried up from middle to front. sinclair and Armstrong were scoring for fun last season as was Griffith and Moussa but they really seem to be toiling just now! Every game is a grind at the moment and like ED says there’s no rhythm to our play! We need at settled 11 for a decent run of games but that hasn’t happened. not a worry by any means but I think we need to give someone a good beating soon to get back on track, starting with the mighty well on Saturday! Need to up the gears a bit now lads COYBIG.

There is no doubt that there are goals right through this squad, but unfortunately although we are creating plenty chances (even when we are not at our best) , the composure, confidence and clinical finish is lacking and the possible factors have been covered above.
There is an incredibly busy schedule in December, including the Europa League decider and eight league games, so it is very possible we will not win all of these games going on current performances, but there is no doubting the fight, determination and effort being shown at present .
Unbeaten runs always come to an end and the eventual record will stand for longer than most of us ha ha. (just make the opponent and the result as bearable as possible)
The winter break will be a very welcome rest for the club, with time to heal and re-charge and there is absolutely no doubt that many of these guys have yet to peak and then watch us go in 2018.

Agree2 Disagree1

30 Nov 2017 11:55:18
Think shocking is a bit harsh but as others have said we have been a shadow of ourselves compared to last season.

Think we need a couple of additions in January just to inject a new lease of life into squad and ensure there is constantly real competition for places. Couple of defenders (CB and full-back cover are a must) and also a winger who can play both sides - apart from Roberts, we don't have a silky player who can beat his man.

Nobody wants to lose the unbeaten run (certainly not me) but winning another treble and competing in Europa League is more important.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Nov 2017 12:24:54
The fact we can suffer a dip in form from a few players, not be at our best and yet remain unbeaten is a great sign of the strength of the team. For me, I want this run to end with an epic 6-5 loss to Aberdeen, Ryan Christie scoring all 6 just before he comes back, a result which knocks Sevco out of the European spots and into administration. If it has to end, that will do me.

Agree0 Disagree1

30 Nov 2017 14:15:21
Maybe some of the players who have been playing week in - week out are getting a bit tired and stale? In my opinion once the unbeaten monkey's off the teams back then we should start seeing some of the fringers getting their development chance.

I suspect that the early start to the season, coupled with a large number of games and short summer break has a major part to play in our performances this season.

After the winter break I suspect we will move out of second gear and let rip for the remainder of the season as we won't be playing as much games and have more time between games.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Nov 2017 22:29:33
I think we are unfortunate that we have shocking fans that are lmpossible to please and satisfy. Supporters like these are more likely to moan and write and shout abuse at our players and manager, than to support and encourage them .
We haven't been shocking at anytime this season but have been very consistent in domestic football and despite our heavy work load of matches we continue unbeatable.
Maybe the reason our players look tired is that K T, P R and M D among others are seen to be rubbing their eyes as evening K O's arn't over until after their bed time.

SPLASH! Another cheating diving one to keep the run going. Surely you can’t be proud of that?

30 Nov 2017 13:55:22
UJ you cannot seriously be saying your mob haven't been the main beneficiary of 'cheating' for years?

I was on FF to see the response to your agm and the utter bigotry and hatred spewing toward us as people is a ****ibg disgrace. You are in here and I welcome your deluded, revisionist Pish, it's a pity that the tolerance you are shown on here is not matched by the utter bile and bigotry on every gers site

Lay of the cheating refs, there are clips that would take the rest of your life to watch where you have been helped out.

Anyway, as for the agm, you showed once more why you get taken to the cleaners. One fucjig win and the world is great.

A couple of No Surrendrrs and and you bend over a desk.

Let's see it all fall to fun if the shitebag sheep beat you.

Apart from all that. Enjoy your weekend.

H Dallas son gave the 5 year old club a pen when a Sevco player stood on ball and fell .
Their third goal came about when a player who was clearly off- side "scored" .
The Ranger's TV commentator remarked that the referee assistant belonged to the same lodge as himself.

@magicpole - the Sheep were rightfully put in there place last night. We beat them again Sunday and we’ll be above them into 2nd, not bad for a poor side and it’s why McInnes should be nowhere near the Ibrox hot seat - he’s a big game bottler!

Didn’t someone at the Celtic AGM ask Liewell why Proddy buses ( Parks ) were used by Celtic?

29 Nov 2017 21:51:57
That's not the worst point in the world keeps the unbeaten run going. maybe need to freshen it up a bit for Saturday. nae doubt they'll have there kicking boots on again and it's worrying with Moussa injured and Anderlecht to come. If that Belgian legend 😀called us peasants and woodcutters WTW would he think of Motherwell?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

30 Nov 2017 12:03:56
The referees need to get a grip on this Motherwell team. Its not just against Celtic. They have kicked their way to 4th spot. Saturday will be worse and we have Anderlect on the following Tuesday. After the tackle on Tierney then Dembele on Saturday, they have 5 booked tonight. Disgrace.

29 Nov 2017 21:59:24
Just listening to them on Radio Scotland they are gutted and are crying it was never a penalty again? Somebody stating it wasn’t a pen as he was going away from goal and wasn’t a goal scoring opportunity? Does the player have to be going towards goal to get a pen now. clueless so they are? 🍀 HH giruy.

@bigp heard they commented the hun game OFF THE TV, no coverage of our game despite us being the champions and top of the league.

I saw that Tim as the Sevco have banned bbc from Ibrox they commentated off the tv total embarrassment. they switched the commentary to Celtic game after the well took the league creaming themselves that the unbeaten run was coming to a possible end only for a clumsy defender to bundle calmac over . Then after the draw they try to imply the cheating Celtic players. em does any Celtic player wear black have a whistle in their mouth and point to a white spot. nope! Fan dans the lot of them just heard on snyde motherwells now released a press statement should be a laugh.

Guys I have said this before, as a punter, sometimes a bookies odds jump out at you, tonight is one of these times. I think the bookies are believing all the "same club" "EBT wages" "Rangers" hype.
They have made the new club ODDS ON tonight, whereas Aberdeen are 13/ 5 to win and 13/ 5 to draw. Almost 3/ 1 for the team in second place.
My advice is LUMP ON at these prices because they will fall come kick off time.
Also, if as expected big Alves plays, get on him to be booked at 6/ 4.
A penalty is 9/ 4
I expect most of these bets to come up tonight.

29 Nov 2017 18:00:50
Aberdeen usually have a mid season implosion, maybe it's all about to unravel?

How poor were the sheep.
Luckily won money on a penalty and Alves booking.
But I bet the huns will be toasting "son of Dallas" tonight a penalty and an ordering off, even his father could not better that.

Conveniently Aberdeens best player sent off and will miss the game at Pittodrie. Just reminds me of the real Dallas days.

Was thinking the same earlier augustus they're serial bottlers, but sevco are in turmoil with no leaders to drag them out the mire, so av went 4-0 Aberdeen 😂😂 couldn't resist at 100-1.

29 Nov 2017 12:16:31
I see Motherwell and the press are STILL going on about the penalty and Sinclair's "dive"
What I have not seen anywhere is that because of the earlier tackle, Dembele could be out of action for WEEKS.
I hope someone at Celtic points that out to the moaning Motherwell manager tonight.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

29 Nov 2017 13:40:01
The misreporting and hysteria is something we are used to when they can't stop us any other way and unfortunately I expect Motherwell to carry on the roughhouse tactics in the next two games and more injuries could be a serious worry. Obviously I don't expect teams to roll over or stand back and admire us and teams like Hibs, Aberdeen and St Johnstone have all given us hard/ fair games in the past. However there have been games where Tierney and others have been singled out for violent tackles that the specsavers mob have chose to ignore.

Agree3 Disagree2

30 Nov 2017 11:59:11
I assume after Dembele got carried off the park after the initial bad tackle it was the ghost of Dembele that converted the penalty won by simulation? Just curious how many weeks he is out for?

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Nov 2017 11:18:20
What's the deal with Erik Sviatchenko? Obviously he's been injured, but he's been training with first team for a bit and with ajer not being fancied by BR is he another that's not liked? Especially when we're short in that department.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

29 Nov 2017 11:54:51
Been thinking the same. Erik has been training for about 3 weeks now I thought he would have featured at some point. I thought he was great his first season, obviously lost form last year, but surely Brendan can get the best out of him.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Nov 2017 12:17:58
Seems he's not fancied because his lack of pace.

29 Nov 2017 12:45:27
Since when is Ajer not fancied? He was on the bench at the weekend. He’ll more than likely feature before Erik does.

Erick was on the bench on Sunday may get run tonight.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Nov 2017 13:42:35
Whatever BR sees in training he has been very reluctant to play either Ajer or Eric - preferring Bitton of all people - so something obviously attention in the next window.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Nov 2017 16:07:32
Remember Ajer is young, definetley got the potential to be a big player for Celtic in th future.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Nov 2017 18:13:16
Got to remember also that Ajer is a DM just like Bitton. And see the flak Bitton gets. It was BR that decided Akers best position was CD when he became boss.

Think we could see 3 at the back again - like Aberdeen away.

Gordon
Lustig - Boyata - Jozo
Paddy - Brown - Armstrong - Tierney
Rogic - Mcgregor
Griffiths

Hope to see Erik get time under his belt, and get rogic back into scoring ways. I sence a demolition job tonight, 4/ 5 goals for the tic.

29 Nov 2017 12:18:45
Why would anyone drop Forrest right now?

29 Nov 2017 13:13:42
If it's 3 at the back he could play both Forrest and Paddy wae Forrest supplying better cover at the back.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Nov 2017 08:30:34
Anyone find it strange that Motherwell are not appealing the red card?

If Sinclair cheated and blatantly dived then it it would be certainty that the card would be overturned upon appeal.

Or perhaps it was a penalty and sending off for denying a goal scoring opportunity by pulling in the box.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

29 Nov 2017 08:57:40
Must it admit it was a good bit of deflection tactics by the mighty wells manager and players trying to blame the whole thing on that penalty call! Masks the woeful performance of there team, because they were rank rotten from start to finish! Team of hatchet men who got outclassed by a far superior team in 2nd gear it’s as simple as that!

Agree1 Disagree2

29 Nov 2017 09:14:49
The uproar from their manager and reaction from the sevco scribes was to deflect and detract from the fantastic achievements and superiority of BR and the Bhoys.
If the incident was as cut and dried as they claimed - an appeal and rescind would have been a formality, however now, they need to appear the victims instead of the hatchet men they really are, to gain brownie points and hopefully that leaves us to accumulate more league points.
