Well my wee winning streak goes on £50 at 2/1 for a penalty £100 profit, but kicking myself as I was tempted to take Fletcher for a hatrick but never did. @Chris02 each to their own with their "vices" and just to make myself clear I always put "bet within your budget" and "what you can afford" I rarely drink these days because of health so I enjoy a flutter, and when you are betting with bookies money it is even better, Chris you cannot control what other people like or do just accept that you are perfect and I am in sin.

fair play to you timalloy, can imagine you were raging when fletchers first penalty shout was turned down only for their keeper to bring down maloney 2 minutes later and make up for it

Timalloy bet to your heart 's content . Just don't advertise your betting and gambling on a football forum site . It doesn't affect me, but there are vulnerable addictive people and I am surprise that our Editors allow your betting musing and gambling advertising
People are not allowed to hand out samples of alcohol freely to passer-bys on town streets, nor to hand out addictive drugs .
However you seem happy enough to advertise gambling on a football forum with full support from the Editors . Maybe you are an editor or maybe you have used your funds to support an editor or this forum .
If anyone can explain why gambling should be advertised on an open Celtic forum as distinct from a section, I would love to know . Maybe an Ed can explain the appropriateness . I am looking forward . Does Celtic Banter have no regard for those less fortunate who are addicted to gambling, or to their family members .

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - We don't advertise gambling as we don't mention what companies people use. I myself don't gamble either.
No we don't have any regard for people addicted to gambling or anything else, we're a football forum, I think AH hit the nail on the head.
I really don't like what you're implying here, Chris02 so I'd advise you to wind your neck in or I will remove you from the site and this time you won't be allowed back.}

"People are not allowed to hand out samples of alcohol freely to passer-bys on town streets, nor to hand out addictive"

What planet are u on? Alcohol companies REGULARLY do promotions in selected pubs and venues in order to generate new custom and trial new products.

Chris02 its seem as though noone is allowed to post anything that you do not agree with. You do understand the concept of debating?

Chris02 are you for real? You would start an argument in an empty room pal.
Goan yersel Tim, glad to see somebody bashing the bookies.

30 Mar 2015 23:33:20
Chris, I seem to recall the word Magners across the front of some football club jersey. I have no opinion on advertising gambling, ciggies etc. as it does not encourage me to go out and buy that product. As for the wee flutter, if Tim is happy doing that then good luck to him. Does not sound like he is addicted nor, in this case, did I see much wrong with the post as it appeared. To me, anyway, he was just relating a bet to a game of football.
I can't see anyone, on the basis of Tim getting lucky this time, going out to mortgage the house and putting the cash on football bets. I can see it done by people with a gambling problem - to me a big difference. I don't usually disagree with many of the Ed's comments and while I DO agree with the sentiments about gambling, I think the post response has generated some OTT replies. Just my take on it anyway. Hail Hail.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Chris post and subsequent ones were the OTT ones, that's why he is taking a short breather for some self-reflection. FYI neither I or any Eds will be dictated to by posters what does and doesn't get posted. It's a football banter site and if people want to act precious then they'll face the consequences of it i.e. being ridiculed.
So what you don't agree with I have no idea - and care even less. Has there been any proven links between gambling and asthma?}

01 Apr 2015 12:25:01
Fair comment Ed and I accept there are limits dictated by opinion/legal/etc. I personally saw no issues but others may have. so be it. Still, at end of day, banter and forum and I enjoy and accept good or bad,

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - You can't please all the people all the time, TT, but to bitch and whine about people talking about their bets on a CFC forum is ludicrous - I'm not here to mollycoddle life's losers who can't control their own life.
I don't like international football, it has nothing to do with CFC so should all talk of international matches be stopped, any talk about the EPL or La Liga etc?}

29 Mar 2015 19:09:44
Do you think of Sunderland are relegated, Steven Fletcher could be a realistic target for us? RD has stated he'll target members of the Scotland squad and Fletcher himself has said he would like to come back to Scotland! I think his work rate and attitude are exactly what RD looks for!

I wouldn't mind Fletcher at Celtic, but I don't know if his wages would be a stumbling block.

Agree0 Disagree1

30 Mar 2015 06:34:34
Thats a good shout iceman, I wouldn't be worried about his ability but as gerry says wages would be a problem and also he's injury prone. But definately the type of striker we need. Markie

Fletcher scores his first international goals for six years against the mighty Gibraltar and people are suggesting we should be interested in him.I thought April fools day was on Wednesday.killy.

Agree2 Disagree0

30 Mar 2015 15:21:33
Killy I don't think Fletcher is so bad that wanting to sign him is an April fool.
Fletcher is a decent striker in the EPL, and if he became available there would be several English teams wanting to sign him.
As markie said his biggest problem is that he's been injury prone, that's why although he's not scored for Scotland for so long, he's not been available for a lot of that time.
He may or may not be the answer to our striking problems, but I don't think he would be any worse than some of the players that we've bought in the last couple of years.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Mar 2015 16:49:59
Killy, spot on Fletcher to Celtic would be the most inappropriate signing that Celtic could make this decade .
Wher in the central belt of Scotland would there be a house with a large enough area to park his obnoxious large cars .

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Mar 2015 18:07:43
@Chris you really are a laff mate. So now we are not going to sign a striker because of the car/cars he drives. I would rather sign him because he was good mate. Suppose that rules out Ronaldo then lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Mar 2015 18:16:35
I'm Not keen on Guidette due to his attitude of late, but I would rather see him sign than Fletcher. Anyone with basic football skills could score against Gibraltar. No disrespect to them, its just the level they are at

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Mar 2015 23:04:24
Most people know that since Fletcher got the EPL money, he has been injured a lot and hence his usefulness has been debatable. The mentioning of his cars were meant to be a joke

We could win this 10-1 now but we'll always be the team who conceded at home to Gibraltar.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

29 Mar 2015 22:53:58
we will always be the only team that conceded at home (or is it conceded to ) to gibraltar, it is a disgrace, these guys playing for scotland are getting paid thousands of pounds to play football every week, and they are playing part time amatuer footballers, working 5 days a week and then playing games on their time off, it reminds me off that team from glasgow used to be called rangers.

29 Mar 2015 23:25:22
Yeah I am sure the sevco supporters know exactly how you feel aindoh! They been struggling and getting gubbed by part timers for the last 3 years! But keep forgetting they don't suppoort scotland anymore because of the way the SFA tried to kill them off pmsl NOT

Can someone explain why Scotland are third in table when we have the same points as Germany and are one goal better on goal difference?

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Mar 2015 15:20:37
If teams are on the same points it goes to head to head record first

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Mar 2015 23:37:34
Thanks Gordy, so, unlike leagues and other competitions, good does not count when points are the same (I assume that good will come into it when the head to heads are the same). Seems a bit daft to me as league titles, play-offs, cup rounds etc. can be decided on GD. Ach well, you live and learn. Hail Hail.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Mar 2015 17:11:49
The press will have Sevco linked with half this Gibraltar team in the next few days.

Would the players take the step down though?

4-0 to Scotland here nae sweat!

Just watched a great match at wembley the FA Trophy which was won by a wee village team with a population of about 5,000 people near Hull, North Ferriby United, they play in green and white and have kept up the tradition of representing the colours marvellously another trophy for the Green and Whites lol

If we do go on and win the league or even the treble? RD deserves even more credit for the achievement due to the amount of International breaks there have been this season.
I really hate International football and rarely get excited or even interested in Scotland matches; however I appreciate they are part and parcel of football - especially during a qualifying campaign and the players are keen to play in big tournaments.
However the disruption to our domestic campaign seems to have been interrupted quite a lot this season - for weeks at a time.
I realise a lot of supporters enjoy Internationals, but I can't wait until next Friday and hope the lay off does not have an adverse effect on the momentum and form of Celtic.
