POB is a regular poster on the Celtic pages from the shame.I would guess most of the regular posters on here recognise the tag.I have always found his posts to be well thought out balanced.However,having a look through the shame earlier i was appalled to see him defending Donald Findlays choice of "karaoke" material.He claims"it was a private function,a rangers night at a rangers venue attended by rangers patrons" He goes on"the fact that some daftie recorded it and put it into the public domain was UNFORTUNATE"! Now i find this an appalling statement.So it seems that so long as you are a sectarian bigot in private it is okay.So long as you are surrounded by other bigots then thats fine.I assume he must feel the same way about racism as well.Well POB,i would put the point that it was FORTUNATE that some body did show this man up for what he was.This is an extremely well educated,intelligent professional man.For whatever reason,surrounded by bigots,thought he was safe to spew his vile songs.In my book that makes him worse than the idiots who shout this stuff in the street. French media are reporting that the 28-year-old, who has just one year left on his contract, has held talks with the Scottish club.

The France international centre-back, who is also rumoured to have attracted interest from the likes of Newcastle United, is well suited to the British brand of football according to the Stade Chaban Delmas chief.

Triaud is quoted in the Daily Record as saying: “Would Celtic want to sign Ciani? Would Ciani be interested in moving to Scotland to play for them? Why not? It's a big club and he's a very good player so it's a good match.

“Michael is made for football in England or Scotland. He has a British mentality. He's an aggressive defender who is strong and quick.

“The lure of playing in England or for a big club in Scotland appeals to some players and if he has that opportunity we'd be willing to talk to any interested club.”

And, although Triaud rates Ciani highly, he admits the club would take any potential offer from the Hoops seriously.

“We wouldn't let him go for nothing but we are realistic about what he is worth,” he added.

“Football is no longer a world full of rich clubs. The money has gone and clubs are struggling so we can't demand what we used to for a player of his quality.

“We'd be looking for a fee - perhaps for Celtic to throw money in the collection basket like they would at the church.”

Ciani was linked with moves to Arsenal and Tottenham two years ago, but Triaud believes the defender suffered when former boss Laurent Blanc left to manage the French national side.

He said: “He has done very well for Bordeaux over the past three years. He had a very difficult spell at the start of last year for six months but he came through it.

“He suffered a loss of form and confidence but a lot of players suffered when Laurent Blanc left us.

“But he has battled back and had a very good end to the season. He has a year left on his contract but we don't have a plan that says we must sell him because of that.”

Hi all, (posted this earlier) I was watching a tube video online about the top ten best derbies in football and celtic v rangers was number 1, now I'm a celtic man but I am going to honestly miss the old firm games, I'm not saying for one minute that rankers should get away with the damage they have caused, even though it makes both sides unhappy they should still be punished as it's fair play, IMO That is what sports is all about.

Glasgow cup , league cup , scottish cup, we will play them again , imagine going to a scottish cup tie against a 3rd div team at ibrokes pmsl shamrock

spl,sfa,sfl all say starting cevco5088 in the 3rd would cost the spl £16m .. divided by 12 thats £444,000 or £150,000 a year , hearts sell templeton to the championship ,problem solved , celtic sell ...anybody , problem solved. get a bigger share of tv money ,ie cevco money , £2000000 divided by 11 = £180,000 each . stop worrying and send them to the 3rd .shamrock

How much does this whole saga reek of corruption? Just when SFA, SPL and SFL get the chance to prove they are impartial, they seem to be trying everything they can to change things about to suit a team that no longer exists. Is it just me or is this saying to other teams "cheat as you like, we will help you if it goes wrong" ?

Not at all, other teams have gotten into financial difficulties (not through cheating) and have not received the same help from the governing bodies.

I also just saw Murray saying the players who have left or are planning to leave are disrespectful? The same players whose actions allowed the club to see out last season through up to 75% pay cuts? This boy is another rocket.

I for one think we should try for McGregor and Naismith. You can argue all you want, but I doubt we would get better players than them for free.
