would andreas Cornelius be worth looking at didn't do anything at Cardiff but came into their season carrying an injury and then was out for 3 month with a separate injury, played 13 and scored 5 back at Copenhagen , only 21. the big physical targetman we need?

Knudsens team mate jakob ankersen rm also looks a good player avg a goal and assist every 5 games

Under the impression Jo Inge Berget is Samaras' replacement. Plays anywhere across the front line, tall, quick and has a good shot on him. Time will tell if he's decent for us but could be an early masterstroke by Ronny Deila.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't know if ed can put this up but here it is. If you have an Apple device download Live Media Player, it's a free app. Once your in the app search for Setanta and you'll get the game from 7.40 on that.

Getting slightly stressed out at the whole Southampton ( small team with vastly over priced players ) think that Forster and van djik are just there for the taking! I can handle Fraser Forster going for 12 million quid ( my estimation ) but if the club sell van djik at the same time how are we going to qualify for Europe . It has taken so long to bring one player in one loan imagine how long it would take to replace class act that is vvd! Getting worried now!

Celtic always

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We qualified by a baw-hair last season when we sold our top players and we have not strengthened enough since.
It will be tough enough to qualify with the players we have and the Murrayfield factor and I agree we will be even poorer without those two.
There seems to be a lack of direction and ambition at our club and we are in danger of disappearing into European oblivion if we persist with lack of investment in the squad.

Agree mate over the past year we have sold hooper, wanyama, ledley, wilson and now probs vvd, forster and maybe even efe and look at the replacements brought in. Being short changed by the board as always but some fans don't see it that way and are happy that we are a financially safe team rather than have a set of balls and show a bit of ambition. Not like we are asking for crazy spedning but at least something 2 get us excited fs

Agree0 Disagree0

And people wonder why NL left (as did GS). They had ambition and knew what they needed but were not given the backing. RD will end up the same after a couple of seasons if we do not get some change out of the board. I am as worried as a Southampton supporter seeing the incoming train from Liverpool

Agree0 Disagree0

@TinyTim how do you know that was reason for lennons departure? Do you not know about one of the directors on board pushing for lennon to be relieved of duties? Lot of nonsense it was his choice

Ed,

Seen a few people on twitter talking about Ronaldinho, any poss we would be interested now he's available on a free?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - My flabber would be gasted if we signed Ronaldinho unless Pedro has had some kind of mental breakdown.}

How about a couple of EBTs and a cheeky wee side letter?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Perhaps we could use the money we make from the Commonwealth Games or I'm sure between the Vatican, GCC, the NHS, East Dunbartonshire Council, the SNP, the Scottish Parliament, Westminster MPs and the Unseen Fenian Hand we could come up with something.....Oh best not forget the Co-op Bank.}

Sadly why would a former world class player want to come to a downsizing club who talk about wanting to progress but don't back it up with actions. Wether it be this season or next big vvd and Forster will be gone and I don't see where our next quality player is coming from we will be left with a squad who are better than current spfl opposition but lacking in euro quality, if we don't qualify for cl proper this season it's worrying to think where our standards might drop too?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ronaldinho is done. It would be like signing juninho all over again

Let's give this New guy a chance bhoys Ronny must see something in him he took him on loan a few years back! He was one of the Stars of the team when Molde won the league he's been capped for Norway the baby assassin took him to Cardiff cause he believed he was good enough to play in the premiership no of his signing really worked out they were brought into a sinking ship! He looks more of a playmaker than a striker cutting in from the left!

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GjPkKrKNh04

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Giving him a chance goes without saying. It takes nothing away from the fact it is an underwhelming signing though. Like Gordon before that, like RD before that!

I don't think it's an awful signing. He's a player our manager obviously knows (normally a good indicator) and thinks will bring something to the table. But, it should be a signing we 'take a chance on' with a squad already capable of competing in the CL proper. My point is, this lad is probably a too similar of standard to a lot of the young players we already have. My only hope is that he's got something different to anybody already here. Looks like a POOR MAN'S Sammy from what I've seen so far.

Where's the statements of intent from a CL side? Or are we really doing things on the cheap now?

By the by, I hate all this scheidt I'm hearing at the moment about waiting for qualification before RD being given 'real' money. I remember being told by Liewell (first time I've used this awful nickname) that we didn't budget ourselves on CL. Whatever happened to that one?

Agree0 Disagree0

I hear where your coming from Jim! Can't say I was over excited when I read the news last night. In fact I will be honest I've never heard of him! I think signings will come Ronny will just want to get the right ones in, this is a player he knows and he must feel he can bring something to this squad let's hope so!

Don't laugh please but what about singing Ronaldinho? He has left Athletico Miniero and is still only 34. Not sure of wages but what about that for a way of getting Parkhead full. My favourite player of the last 20 years

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Putting aside the money, Ronaldinho has been offered to several sides - Crystal Palace is one and I think QPR is another. I'm not laughing, I'd LOVE to see him here, but on the day we sold Tony Watt and signed an unknown Norwegian who has played one game in six months to signing Ronaldinho is just class mate, that cheered me up :)
I'd have Ronaldinho in my team before Messi any day, watch this and then tell me Messi is the best player ever.. pppffft!! Messi isn't even the best Argentinian player ever.

Ppl talk about pele, maradona, messi and Ronaldo but for me he tops the bill I would pay £100 every week to watch that guy world class!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - We forget how good these guys actually were as time goes on and youngsters get took in with hype and marketting these days.}

Favourite player besides Henrik. Absolute class. Probably still is. Ed's right though, I think the tone has already been set with regards to our "transfer policy". Now where did I leave that Beret?

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers for going easy on me Ed with this one but we can dream. I think the wages paid would immediately be recouped with a full stadium and CL qualification. And what a role model he would be for the rest of the team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Singing ok. Any particular tune?

Agree0 Disagree0

P.s. Wow to that video. Amazing amazing talent. Right, who's up for chipping in to pay this guys wages lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Definitely the best player I've seen. Surely he'd fancy a crack at the CL again?

Agree0 Disagree0

Just watched the youtube clip. guy was sheer natural genius. he seemed to play on instinct, and as for his free kicks? wow. would be worth signing him for his set pieces alone! ed, what do you think he'd be looking for wages wise?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Believe it or not but his current wages at Mineiro are circa £24/25k a week although there is the potential to earn a further circa £250,000 p.a. in bonuses. Whether he would be happy with that back in Europe or be looking for more I don't know.
Before moving to Mineiro, Ronaldinho was on circa £100k a week at Flamengo but that deal was terminated by a judge after the player sued the club for £13m in unpaid wages and bonuses. Flamengo admitted having difficulties paying for Ronaldinho's salary after ending their partnership with sports marketing company Traffic, which had paid most of his wages. At Mineiro his wages are paid solely by the club which is a rarity in Brazil for the more popular, and expensive, players.}

Cheers ed. if lawell had any ambition this would be the signing to end all signings. offer him 30k a week and let him keep his image rights. he'd make a packet. also 34 ain't that old. think of giggs, totti, pirlo etc. let ronny (or rabbit-monkeyman - as my ten year old called him when I made her watch the youtube clip) have his nights oot at the suave sav, as long as he produces on the pitch, the stadium would be packed to the rafters. imagine a champions league swansong for the great man? remember zidane almost single handedly won france the world cup 8 eight years ago, and he was 35 at the time.

From a purely talent point of view I am not happy one bit about the sale of Tony Watt but RD must have his reasons and I wish him well in Belgium. My other point is that some people are complaining that the new signing is Watt's replacement, this is surely untrue. He plays mostly as a winger and therefore the 15 goals in 60 games (roughly?) he scored for Molde is a pretty decent return. Give him a chance and let's not panic just yet.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Every manager brings in someone they know and trust mon did it with Lenny . So far we have criticised Ronnie for the jc appointment. Now the watt sale! People in here complain about big sammy not giving enough. Has watt given anymore? 1 goal v barca? Then nothing but the big I am! Surely every manager is not wrong about him! Nl had a gripe, the manager of the loan team had a gripe? Obviously it's another million in the pot Ronnie to use. As for the Norwegian guy! We lost sammy and derk and wee forest have their own hospital wings named after them. If this guy can play 30 games a season then that's good enough for me! HH

Agree0 Disagree0

Even if its 30 rubbish games

Agree0 Disagree0

That's what sammy gave us! So no change there! I meant 30 games trying a leg lol
