Hi Ed. Have you heard anything about us maken a bid for James Mc Clean? I can see us signing Alfred Finnbogson but would be a great addition. HH Bigirishmac {Ed007's Note - I doubt we would buy Derk Boerrigter and McClean BIM. Finnbogason would be a fantastic signing BUT will they board sanction that level of a spend?}

A lot of talk on twitter plus a picture Finnbogason entering Celtic park tonight with a suited man it seems as though Celtic are finally giving Lennon money.

On another note I would be disappointed if Celtic sell Ledley he is our unsung hero and can't be sold!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The player is not Finnbogason

Agree0 Disagree0

Was the picture verified as him?. green jhedi {Ed007's Note - No, it doesn't look anything like him.}

Agree0 Disagree0

It's not Finbogasson, and it wasn't Boeriggter either from what I've seen on another site ( not personter) the pics did show them being greeted by Lawwell, but it could be anybody?!
More than likely agents or something else, if their footballers then I've still got hope.

Bigbadjohn

Agree0 Disagree0

@ED007: Thanks mate. Like you I would be surprised if we spent the cash on Finnbogason.Thing is he is at a great age and would have a sell on.I think we need to show some ambition with this one, but if a prem club come in it's kaput!.green jhedi {Ed007's Note - If we get him it's an investment. 2/3 years down the line he could be worth double what we need to pay right now.}

Didn't know Andre Blackman was no longer with us but he signed for Portsmouth or Plymouth ( just git a glimpse on sly) remember his debut against Aberdeen Own goal

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Biggest memory I have of him was spotting him on t.v at Fir Park standing beside the dugout at Motherwell at the edge of the tunnel with his hands down his trackies scratching his plums, then just as Ki Sung Yeung is subbed Blackman reached out from his drawers to shake Ki's hand, Poor Ki none the wiser shook it and then wiped the sweat off his brow lol. Who needs enemies when you've got team mates like Andre Blackman, the same guy who was apparently sent to Caley Thistle on the back of threatening to break James Forrest's legs in training. He was a lowlife who was given a chance after being labelled as trouble down south and he threw it back in our faces. Just to top it off he got sent home from Caley after about 10 days for fighting in training. Bampot.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah I remember when he played his first game in which he put in an own goal. Before the OG my wife turned to me and said I don't like this bloke, he's too fired up and is carrying on like he's looking for trouble. I told her that he was only young and he's just looking to impress, probably just over doing the effort. Safe to say I listen to her more after that quick assessment!

The player arriving at Celtic Park tonight is no hoax. there's a pic of them going in, and an updated one of Peter Lawwell showing them round the stadium, but no1 can figure out who the player is. Its not Shane Lowry

If the Dutch winger signs that will be the 4th player signed this season over 6 feet tall, is Lenny being advised by MON as that was his strategy, remember Sutton, Hartson, Mjalby, Balde (not our latest Balde).
In England they favour big tall players in most positions, looks like Neil is doing the same.
So bhoys/ghirls before posting any more names check first they are over 6 feet. hh Timalloy

Deadco have started to officially admit to being a newco/club. I have just see a tweet from one of their "legions" stating that in reply to his enquiry he has been informed that the "newco" will not honour debentures made with the "oldco". At last maybe a chink of light.

Jimbho {Ed007's Note - It is to do with the people who forked out their hard-earned money for seats for life in their bonds scheme.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Did Chuckles not promise to honour that deal when he took over? An interesting turn of events mind you. Who was the original contract agreed with, the club or the company? If the company, they have no obligation to honour the deal as they were liquidated. If the club, then they must honour it as they keep telling us the clubs the same entity it always was. Be interesting to see the paperwork regarding the contract. green jhedi {Ed007's Note - And it looks like Man Utd are scrubbing their entire history as well GJ.
Just like The Rangers/Sevco fans slabbering their gibberish about Fergus taking us over, Utd are rebranding, so that will be all those titles, cups and honours scrubbed from Utd's history....aye right then... You would have thought the Glazers would have known this, it could cost the millions!!

http://goo.gl/KDzO1G

Agree0 Disagree0

To some zombies that will be too hard to understand.

Lenny

Agree0 Disagree0

As astated before, if 2 entitiesa then there would be 2 constitutions etc, there aren't. As for club/ company et, they are/were liquidated for tax, paye etc, which is tax for employees and the amount unpaid could only be for players so if company then players employed by company and therefore company won trophies and club is nothing, or players were emplyees of club? Either way it's bust, but we all know that, aprt from the zombies who continue to live in denial. Funny how they say it is the same yet they are not on uefa site!

Agree0 Disagree0

The historical company not Being the club is the most ridiculous notion in world football and they won't get away with it.

Also as soon as HMRC win their EBT final hearing, every single EBT player will have been illegal under uk law and those titles shall be stripped from the old club's records. SFA registrations will not even come into it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers then Rangers now Rangers forever - unless you were a debenture holder, owed money, a player (Naismith et all could just walk away) etc.

Ach its tiresome now but suppose they will keep looking for proof last years insolvency act never happened ~ Mrs E

Club and company were "incorporated" in 1899.when were they "de-corporated", which would need to have happened if this "same club"bullsh!t was to be remotely believable? Sevco then, now and till the next lot of creditors are bumped.one Diddy league title to their name.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2013 13:58:05
Doesn't the SFA and the SPFL have regulations against a member club spending £1m per month on month over monthly income? Just asking because it seems like a corruption of the sport when everyone else is operating to their incomes.

Second issue is hearts and the ukios bank security over Tyne castle. If they don't get the value of the stadium in a CVA, you had better believed, the bank as owners will sell/ develop the site.

We were told Craig Whyte held similar securities over MP and Ibroken. It was reported he wants £1m per year ad finitum.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I would suggest that most clubs are in debt however the degree to which its being racked up in some cases is distasteful.
In regards to Tynecastle the question is how much is it really worth and what could you do with it other than football due to the Health and Safety issues surrounding the nearby industrial units?

Agree0 Disagree0

@1: Are you kidding? The place would be worth a fortune to developers.Planning permission would be a shoe in for flats. green jhedi

Ed do you think we have a realistic chance of signing Finbogasson given the rumoured £5million+ price tag?

LM67 {Ed007's Note - It's the same old story, the club knows the price, it's up to them whether they pay it or not. Financially I don't see why not.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It would still fit our business strategy. Porto and Benfica buy players at £10million+ but are still able to hold out for twice that amount when it comes to selling to other clubs. We should be able to do the same as long as we make the group stages consistently

LM67

Agree0 Disagree0

@ LM67

Good point. The Portuguese league is still a ten times higher level than the Scottish Premiership though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Great stuff, Professor GRD out with the calculator again! pea

Agree0 Disagree0

Hmm grd wouldn't say 10x you know spl has higher attendance figures than Portuguese league, Russian league, Ukrainian league, Turkish league btw. Scotland's a wee country so revenue is smaller but Portuguese football is getting worse and worse Porto benfica only two good teams sporting not what they were. Apart from the top 4 in Portugal the rest are on par with spl teams I'd say. Remember how wee country we are. Spl is probably the best league in the world for countries with a population less than 10 million, scottish football punches well above its weight. Gandalf the green

Agree0 Disagree0

@4 spot on, this continual comparison with a country 12 times the size of Scotland, I.e. england is dumb. It's like comparing england to brazil, Italy and Germany put together.

Agree0 Disagree0

If you think the SPL is even close to the Portuguese league in terms of standard of football or standard of technical ability within the teams then you've no got a clue.

Agree0 Disagree0

GRD aye it's not better because there is much better competition Porto benfica guaranteed top 2 but you have pacos braga and sporting fighting for champions league. Teams below are not much better spl standard probably not on much more money than spl players too and look at the top 2 I think Porto were undefeated in the league and benfica lost once against Porto in league, old firm never won the league the comfortably (apart from celtic remember) and we knocked benfica out of the champions league, who have at least an8x bigger budget than us why out your countries league down so much is appalling I'm proud of what scottish football has achieved for such a wee country. Gandalf the green {Ed007's Note -Portuguese football is in financial meltdown, probably worse than Scotland. Players haven't been paid for months and have had to get their wages from the Player's Union over there. It's not just Scotland suffering, even Spanish teams out with the 'Big Two' are in dire financial problems.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Every team in the Portuguese league would comfortably beat every team in Scotland, nine times out of ten, outwith Celtic. That is a fact. They are technically far superior footballers. Simple.

Agree0 Disagree0

Disagree grd they'd all beat sevco aye but its a better league aye, but standard of football not so different.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2013 12:58:04
You know what I'd love to see happen (and is possible) when September comes deadco never actually signed any of their trialists lol maybe it's a stunt to get season ticket money in remember all their current squad get pay rises this season some on 7-8k a week how can deadco afford this running at over 1 million in debt per month, not to mention the slug is on more cash than Jurgen klopp and Neil lennon. I'll give them 6 months before admin. Gandalf the green

Believable0 Unbelievable0

They can't, the new club that has one trophy to its name will soon go the same way as the old club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed.

And the deady bears will keep chipping in. Until they are the double deady bears.

Agree0 Disagree0

They don't need six months. greens lock in ends in December.Green, and his assorted 1p investors, will then sell their shares to the Easdales. The Easdales, having spent their investment cash buying Greens shares, will then enter an administration. They will have an achievable CVA accepted and exit administration.

This is why sneaky is being allowed to recruit players in the number he has done. There will be a points deduction and a signing embargo. Both of these will be fairly easy to negate with the amount of players he has brought in.

My guess is this is why Malcolm Murray was pushed. As a respectable businessman, and a true supporter of rangers, he would have found this very distasteful. green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

No offence lads but who actually gives a high flying f*ck what happens to them? Last season I payed as much attention as I did because you could clearly see after one game they were an absolute shambles and I could smell a few embarrassing defeats ahead. This year however they have well and truly went for the overkill approach and have a squad who could win every game in that league this season. Its not worth bothering about them until they draw an SPL side in one of the cups so I can't see the attraction anymore. Yesterday will be my last viewing of the shame this year unless we draw them.

Mind you, I made a tidy profit on them to win -3 goals at 18/5 so I suggest if your going to pay any notice to them at least win a few quid off the back of it lads. Bet on there opponents finishing with ten men next week and another favourite of mine is in-play betting (next goal method=penalty). They'll get a right few of those this season especially if Lee Wallace's pathetic swan dive in the box yesterday is a sign of things to come.

Stevensee88

Agree0 Disagree0

If they last till the end of the season then ill be really shocked, the accounts will be a laugh too. However it just shows how bent the SFA are regarding this & hearts. Pyro at the cup game yesterday not a peep about it.

A good bet wold be that rangers will get at least 5 penalties if they are drawing at half time either 0-0 or 1-1 etc.

If we played them tomorrow a challenge at the corner flag would result in a penalty, or if Forster punted the ball right the park while every player was in his box it would still be deemed of side by a lines men.

Looking forward to playing them again one day however scottish refereeing at its best by none other than a willie column style ref game.

I love how a club gets linked with some random player from some obscure country in Europe and all of a sudden everyone on these pages is an expert on the player, preaching about how great they are and how they would be a top signing.

We all know the reality is most people have never heard of said player and they certainly ain't got a clue if they're any good or not!

Not aimed at CFC fans btw just an observation regarding most of the pages on here lol. It makes me laugh.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Or you're just a bitter zombie who could only dream of your wee new club actually BUYING decent players instead of signing football league rejects lol. Or players who are past their peak getting an easy pay check. Gandalf the green

Agree0 Disagree0

With the power of the interweb its not to hard to see the player in action, get match reports from games and all the stats you want such as games played goals scored. Couple this with how good the league he's playing in and i'd say you could make an educated guess about a player. mark

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, your right. Be much easier if we signed free transfers from the SPL. green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

That's a bit of a basic and naïve analysis, most people see a name, look up his playing record/previous clubs/achievements, watch videos, look at professional opinions on him and then decide if they want him. I think you're just hurting cause we have uncovered great talents in Europe and your new club can only sign average mercenaries.

G93

Agree0 Disagree0

We were all gutted last year when sally beat us to the cream of Europe, sandaza, Fauré etc. So now we're on the ball and making sure we don't miss out on the top talents to him again. The way things are going he might even make the last 16 of the ramsdens cup. Now where would that leave us?

Agree0 Disagree0

@4 average? They are rejects that no decent club want!

Agree0 Disagree0

This was just a general view and opinion. As I said, which you all chose to ignore, it was nothing to do with Celtic specifically. I posted the same on the Rangers page.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ally was proclaiming with Mathers recently that the Ajax Dutch model was the way ahead "make no mistake, no doubt about it" wee Sally.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wasn't talking about the boy from Ajax, so again, irrelevant.

Agree0 Disagree0

Put the fishing rods away

Vambo

Agree0 Disagree0

No one mentioned the boy from Ajax, they mentioned the hilarious accusations ally made about 'the Ajax model' the players you have signed would have had probably had to retire if you never signed them because no one wanted them, law okay league 1 player at best but Jon daly lol that's desperate man.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jon Daly's level of ability is well known-a good, solid pro .His signing has a lot to do with selling shares and attracting finance as an inclusive club .He gets a wage.salary he probably deserves for his efforts in the game.

Paddy Malarkey

Agree0 Disagree0

@ 11

You're embarrassing yourself cause Nicky Law was one of the best players in the SPL last season, so saying "league one player at best" shows you're either delusional or just no got a clue about football. Probably a bit of both right enough.

If he was so good why didn't we sign him? Or anyone else. Your new club are like a peasant in the olden days, takes the scraps of what no one wanted. Gandalf the green

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Do not want to play them ever as it will just throw up the old firm rubbish also a match against us would give them a good amount of money which will help them survive a bit longer prior to going into admin by middle of next year

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought it would be more of a HMRC issue with an organization ripping of 100s of creditors, liquidating to avoid paying their debts (including social taxes) and then PRETENDING to be the same organization and carrying on as if they have been hard done by whilst sticking their fingers up at everybody with a conscience!
Hoping BDO will do the right thing by the honest people in this country and shut this hideous and bigoted organization that once was Rangers Football Club down for good!

My mate just came up with a suggestion on the rival religious/bigotry thing.
He suggested that the two clubs should design a common flag.
50% Green to represent one side of the wall and 50% Orange to represent the other side. Then, to show this is a flag of peace, the should have a white strip (say 30% of overall width right down the middle. Sorry, could not resist submitting. Tiny Tim

Believable0 Unbelievable0

So that would be 35% green, and 35% orange then?

Agree0 Disagree0

My Maths at school was never great. However, this was not really a mathematical equation but a tongue in cheek attempt at humour. Of course it should have been 33 1/3 each but I am sure most get the drift. However I could have said that 10% would be taken up by the border.

I know a lot of people see doyle (maybe) signing as a bad signing but if it did happen I hope every 1 gets behind the guy and backs him because realistically the guy will work his socks off for the strip which is what we really need more guys who play for the hoops and not the money. I think ther r better options available than him same as a lot of people but if its the case that he does sign then let's get behind the guy

GunnieBhoy

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree 100%, definitely not the goalscorer we would all like to see replace Hooper but his name isn't going away and if NL does sign him he will give amazing effort and does have a goal in him, remember he has played for Wolves and Reading who created a few chances a game in the EPL, he would be capable of 15-20 in the SPL and would guarantee 100% away to Ross County on a cold Tuesday night.

G93

Nah had his chance choose England passes his best waste of a wage I would have rather had James McFadden than him personally. Gandalf the green
