We should consider John Souttar from Hearts. I’ve watched over the years to see how he’s progressed from Dundee Utd to Hearts and I’ve been impressed. The guy came back from a bad injury and I believe he would be great for us. Don’t think he would cost a fortune either.

I was lucky to go to a real betis game last year. They were playing Valencia. I think it was musondas debut for them ( not sure ) . This boy was head and shoulders above anyone on the pitch. He was outstanding. I think ed already said it but this boy will go right to the top. He is better than Dembele and for us to get him is an incredible achievement from the board. He will run riot in Scotland.

After I watched the youtube clips Ed out us onto I thought this boy is fecking brilliant. Then I thought, aw naw, some richer club might nip in and steal him. So I was delighted we got him. Rogers was saying 24 clubs were wanting him. I'm actually glad I never knew that as this would have made it a more nervous couple of days.
I've watched it about five times now and you need to lunch yourself that we git him.

I was really hoping we would tie up Mcginn in January. I know we have a lot of CM's but he's a cracking player and would add an extra dynamic to the team. I'm a big fan myself. Some players are unfairly criticised for their performances against ourselves or other clubs. McGinn would develop dramatically under Rodgers and learn a great deal from the midfield players currently at the club particularly our Captain. Broonie himself was a raw youngster when he came and look how he has turned out. McGinn has great drive and energy i think he would be an asset to the club.

All players have ups and downs in form, hardly makes them overrated and only good enough to play in league 1. McGinn is a cracking player who would excel in a better team. As of Kouassi he might end up not making it but hard to judge a player who can’t get game time because he plays behind our captain who hardly misses a minute of football.

Ed, just listening to a podcast that has just gone up on Newsnow. Quite an interesting listen regarding Musonda. I thought he recently signed a new deal with Chelsea but they say on podcast his deal runs out summer of 2019 when loan deal expires. With no option to buy we might be in with a chance if he enjoys being here. Why would he extend his Chelsea contract in the summer or Xmas time when he knows he really holds all the aces. Similar position to Solanke.

That's the big difference between us and Sevdo JJ. They leak their targets to their buddies in the press in order to unsettle players. We are going about our business in a dignified manner and the press have no idea who is coming until they step of a plane. BR said "24 clubs were after Musonda and its a great coup for the club" so the Board have done a great job. Let's hope there is another couple of surprises yet. I'm thinking we are in for an exciting couple of days giving the Manager, Players and fans a big boost.

Mate just told me between the fee and his wages we will be paying more than 4 million in the end.
{Ed007's Note - I've heard that Celtic will pay £1 million as a loan fee with 50% bonus if we reach the CL next season and we're paying somewhere around the £10k - £12k a week towards his wages.
So going with the top wage of £12k a week works out at £2364000, maybe rounded up to £2.5 million with a signing bonus for the player/agent.}

Brilliant quality he is was watching DR, s Keith Jackson I know I shouldn't but like to hear any transfer gossip. He was discussing Celtic in for keeper that they were working on a story hoping to have a name soon. He and two other reporter were discussing Celtic transfer dealings this window mentioned Hendry it may go to a Loan back maybe . Then JK said that BR might be looking at one more peace of business but again he's still working on that story. But one thing for me is they all talk about the window closing on wed nite I thought it was Thursday nite in Scotland?

Window closes at midnight on Wed. And 11pm in all the other big leagues so it gives us an extra hour. It will change in the summer as the EPL voted to close there window before the league starts although they can still sell players to other clubs.

I don't think any team would take a player on if they weren't prepared to play him. The actual number of games would then be dependent upon how well that player performs. If there was a stipulation that was binding regarding actual games then it makes a mockery of the managers prerogative to select the best team.
There would be an understanding that the player is moving to develop. But, to suggest that they are guaranteed a certain amount appearances is nonsense. If a player came and was a compete disaster there is no way a club would be forced to play him.
With Charlie it is highly unlikely that he would not be given a chance. Look at Roberts, it took a while for him to be used and that was solely down to Rogers deciding at that time not to play him.
He goes to get experience, but, he only gets that if he proves he is worthy of a spot in the starting line up. Stipulation suggests they pick our team, they don't. We wouldn't go for a player we didn't think added to the tam and will be goven a chance to prove that. if they fail, then no stipulation would over ride the fact they aren't performing.
Stipulation is too strong, an understanding that he will be given a chance is a given. But as Ed says, that's dependent upon form and fitness.
I cannot see charlie being denied game time. Whether he keeps getting it will be down to his performance and not by any agreement to give him a certain amount. Why would a team go for a player they weren't prepared to play. Especially if we are paying good money to have him.
If h is a quarter as good as he looks on video then he will play most if not every game if he avoids injury.

In football manager the loan contracts usually stipulate what role the player will have in the team, e. g. Key Player, First team, Rotation, Backup etc.
They also detail what % of the wage you pay if the player plays and a % they get for not playing. Usually the % for not playing is greater than the % for playing, which means you have an incentive to play them.
There is no clause that they need to play a certain amount of games. While this is just a game I think it is probably a decent reflection on reality.
However, I admit that I don't have any first hand knowledge of player's actual contracts.

I have my doubts he could step into that environment right away. The problem for me with that assessment is he is in effect another project and doesn't solve our right now problem in that position. Commpare, being cup tied doesn't help us against Zenit.
I will be dissapointed if we don't get in a CB who can step into the team with Simo, if he stays for that. I don't have a problem with projects, we need to go that way, but we are in the last 32 of a tournament and we need cover of the calibre to deal with that now. Not in 18 month time.
Hopefully Rogers has a similar view of the present and has the board working on another guy who has what it takes right now, otherwise we make an already difficult tie harder by not recognising that what we currently have can't cut the CL level teams. If we get a RB, new goalie and a centre half as well as Charlie, I will probably pass out.
We need to give ourselves as much a chance as possible. Hendry for me isn't the guy right now. We might be doing the boy a disservice but what I have seen of him doesn't make me think that's the problem sorted.

Just seen that Musonda has arrived in Glasgow on Twitter. What a player, really good business getting him on an 18 month loan deal. If we signed him on a perm deal he would probably get signed for big money within 18 months anyways.
Now we need to get another defender (RB or CB) and a GK. If we do this then it has been a great window.
