Anyone else think Tom rogic is going to be a massive player for us?

Believable4 Unbelievable2

From what I've saw, and heard Aussie reports on him, he could be the stan petrov type mid,

Rogic was the second best player in the A-league this season after the magical Marco Rojas. Celtic are well aware of Rojas dubbed the Kiwi Messi. Rogic is a great player and could be a star.

I'm just reading from a 'reliable source' that Barcelona rejected the chance to sign Ronaldo 9 years ago !

Instead they signed Ricardo Quaresma a Portugese winger who only played 22 games as he wasn't up to much. He's now at Al Ahli in the UAE. (A mess up for Barca)

Can you imagine that team with both Messi & Ronaldo, it could well have been the end of any competition in football.

Just a wee bit of trivia ~ Mrs E

Well lads and lassies I took the plunge into twitter yesterday and have been banned today after exchanging tweets with Neil Lennon

I said to him that the domestic form hadn't been food enough, apparent lack of passion in many games. I then pointed out we have dropped 28% of the points we have played for, drawn with Arbroath etc etc.

He dismissed this straight out, fair enough of course but when I mentioned that we had major chunks of luck in the champs league he told me I was talking nonsense.

Correct me if I'm wrong But we got two own goals, a penalty in dubious circumstances and were let through against barca and Moscow with schoolboy errors.

Factually speaking, is anything I've said wrong here? I'm now banned from twitter and feel more than a bit aggrieved as a result.

Jamie mac {Ed007's Note - Stay clear of Twatter Jamie or just use it to express your own thoughts and have a blether/banter. There is far too much brown-nosing and uber-fans waiting to patronise on it. You get dogs abuse if you actually express an original thought of your own.}

Believable4 Unbelievable8

Spot on Ed as usaul and Lennon shouldn't be on twitter talking sh*te to fans. He should only talk as an official of our club should. There are some right warmers of Hoops fans on there.

Agree2 Disagree4

Cheers for that folks, I was beginning to think I'd went crazy with the amount of zombie replies I got.

Info sourcing tool only now because that was crazy that episode earlier.

And it was predominantly facts I was tweeting.

Like I said to Lennon we are all supporters of the club first of all.

Jamie mac(farcical ed really was)

Agree0 Disagree6

Jac who do you think you are? Ya your a fan just like all of us but and we don't like how many points dropped but that happens get over it. Good on him for blocking you, after all he has been thru don't you think he knows what he is soon, do you think he likes dropping points? He dosent need every fan to have a to when we don't win and you do insult him and the club by saying we were lucky. It is about time we had some luck don't you think? For I don't know how many times we were unlucky in cl and major games, he gives us the best team ion years and has done a major achievement which only 2 managers have made it to in cl besides him and you insult him and say it was all luck, I would be mad too. Relax he will sort things out, we are not going to win every game, how some people forget last year we dropped a lot and made that up by going on a long winning streak. Leave him to it he has enough persons having a go at him on the daily

Agree7 Disagree0

There is truth in what you discussed but NL would never have agreed with you - even if he too believed it.
In a social network he has to toe the party line or look very foolish and put his own position in extreme jeopardy.
I was disappointed when I saw him on SLY today saying we had a psychological issue with Hampden?!
For a club and support that expects to regularly win trophies and play decisive games at Hampden; it sends out the wrong message to our players and raises a red flag to potential opponents about our apparent Mount Florida-phobia.
We have come up short on a good few occasions over the last 2 domestic campaigns however The Champions League run - lucky or not has papered over the cracks.

I'm not too good at using with twitter Jamie but do look at it everyday.

I don't 'speak' to footballers or ask for an RT, not really sure what the asking for an RT is supposed to be anyhoo !

I'm not sure what you mean about luck in the CL though or the schoolboy errors. I've been quite pleased with Celtic's performance in the CL ~ Mrs E

Agree4 Disagree0

If your tweets to Neil Lennon were anything like your usual posts on here, no wonder you're barred!
I wonder if you would have chastised our manager had you bumped into him in public?
We have had exchanges before Jamie Mac, but to be honest - I don't quite know what to make of your post. Are you pissed off you are barred from personter? Or just boastful you chinned our Manager? Or are you just taking things a bit too serious now?
Regardless, its obvious to me that even winning the Champions League will not satisfy you.

Mate the simple fact is its NL's job to know how many games we have failed to win and just about every other stat under the sun. So why when he's on a social media site for a bit of banter would he want some smart arse giving him a headache about how his teams performing. Do you think that's what twitter is for? So you can give him the mastermind treatment after we get beat?

I have to ask the same question as the other post does...who do you think you are? Was it lucky for Celtic when Barca scored with about 10 seconds left of injury time in the nou camp? It's not luck that has got us into the last 16, we deserve to be there. I'm as unhappy as anyone about the result on Sunday believe me but I'm not arrogant enough to think I deserve my own personal Q&A with the manager to air my grievances about it and not expect him to block me.

Agree3 Disagree0

I see where you are coming from. I am far from happy with what has happy this season. Yes we beat Barca and Lennon has taken credit for that, but he is quick to deflect the blame onto the players when we lose. If he takes credit for wins, he has to be there to be blamed for losses. 2 trophies out of a possible 12 so far, isn't good enough

Samson

Agree2 Disagree3

@8) Talking nonsense mate, every single time we get beat he says blame me, I can handle the flak. Done it again on Sunday after the game.

@9. Not talking nonsense at all.

This was Lennon anfter sundays game

Celtic manager Neil Lennon believes the Scottish League Cup semi-final defeat by St Mirren is one of the worst of his tenure.

Despite levelling the scores at 1-1, Celtic missed a second-half penalty and the Buddies' 3-2 win secured a final against Hearts.

"That was as poor as we've played this season, " he said. "We were soulless.

"We were poor defensively, half-hearted in midfield, and apart from Gary Hooper going forward, we were tepid."

Esmael Goncalves grabbed the opening goal for St Mirren and Hooper levelled on the stroke of half-time.

Charlie Mulgrew saw his penalty saved and the Paisely outfit capitalised at Hampden.

I'm fed up with the penalties we miss

Neil Lennon

Celtic manager
Paul McGowan subsequently netted from the spot and and Steven Thompson netted a volley, with Mulgrew's late strike scant consolation for Lennon.

"There was no leadership and I'm not pointing the finger at Scott Brown for that at all, " said Lennon.

"St Mirren played the way I expected them to. I got a response from the players at half-time, but the turning point was the two penalties - I didn't think either of them were.

"At the end of the day, we missed ours and Paul McGowan scored theirs and we ended up chasing the game. The third goal was awful and there was no reaction - the players were playing their own game and I'm bitterly disappointed with them today."

Lennon was critical of Mulgrew's spot-kick miss and said it proved to be a key factor in the defeat.

"As soon as we missed the penalty, we lost our way again, " said Lennon. "We got a break with the penalty and we missed it.

"I'm fed up with the penalties we miss: Mulgrew, who is one of the best dead ball players in Britain, decided to side-foot it and I expected him to whip it low and hard into the corner.

"Maybe it's playing here (at Hampden), maybe we'll just not bother getting to semi-finals or finals if that's the way they want to play, because they've blown it - we've blown it.

"We had a great opportunity to get to a final again, and that's as bad as we've played for a long time under me; I'm struggling to find the answers

And you go and paste lines from the media to back you up, that's even more pathetic for if yous are a true fan you know how they act twords him, just like you didn't post what he said about his thoughts you guys are jokes as fans. . What is Chuckies end game? A couple of weeks ago he announced there would be no profit this season. He has also stated that any other Chief Exec taking on what he did would have made cuts of around 30% to the wage bill. Knowing the figures involved he went ahead and appointed jabba as media director, on I would guess a package well into six figures per year, and today they are linked with Brian Laudrup becoming an ambassador for the club. While I don't think his salary would be huge it is still extra costs on a company that will lose money this year. When the takeover rumours were at their height both Bill Miller and Forbes magazine claimed major financial surgery was needed to balance the numbers out.Since then there has been added; greens salary and ALL living expenses, two new directors salary and the associated expenses incurred, Jabbas salary and expenses and now Laudrup. I remember reading that another administration was inevitable if costs were not cut and dismissing them out of hand.Dave king, remember him?, also went as far as to say the club needed a sugar daddy to plough cash in without any return for three-five years to carry on. Still owing football debts and still adding outgoings what is he thinking? Could he be that bold? could he run it into admin claiming he had no choice and walk? I can't see that as the death threats might have been a wake up call for him, but I welcome any other theories. Lets be havubg you ED007!............green jhedi

Believable4 Unbelievable0

It's all fine if there's funny money going in from a strange source. There were no accounts under SDM and Whyte for three operating years. Even companies in distress/ admin produce accounts. Even when Lloyds were running old rangers they didn't do accounts! These rumour pages said CW syphoned £30m out prior to D&P going in. Is that money finding its way back in? After creditors conned?

Here's a quote from the STV website Football Talk . " Let's just nail our colours to the mast from the off . Football talk doesn't believe it to be the full truth, but the STV sport team doesn't contain a single supporter of Scotland's biggest side or that other lot in the east end of Glasgow . One team member did a secret fist pump when Kilmarnock won the cup last year . Another did "the Beattie" as he came into the office today after another victorious cup semi final win for his side " . Sounds like a great place to work . Wonder if Big Raman runs their supporters bus........DH

Believable1 Unbelievable4

There does not have to be money punted for that mob to invent a story.Their percentage rate of transfer stories that actually happen must be tiny..............green jhedi

Agree1 Disagree1

I think it should be against the law what sly bet are doing. Inventing transfer stories, then opening a book on said fabrication and fleecing the punters off the back of people misguidedly trusting a news program (albiet a sports news program). How can that be legal? Its the equivalent of a casino manager telling punters on the way in that fortunes have been spent on certain fruit machines and tipping them to go and play them as they should be ready to pay out, then raking it in. Its ethically wrong. I can't believe nothing is being done about it.

Celtic really owe their fans for the rest of the season their recent record at Hampden has been disgraceful, it not all about making money, trophy's on the sideboard would bring the fans back something we haven't done much of in the past 5 years. At least not as often as we should have considering the restraints on other clubs in our league. We have no given right to win above anyone else but with our resources we should be doing better than we are doing. Perhaps it all the transfer talk or maybe it because some players have big egos. However let's get it together for the rest of the season, the fans have been great lets see the team do likewise and no more incompetent displays. C'MON THE HOOPS.

Ed I'am getting the feeling we are going to loose wanyama and hooper with no replacements because lawell selling and the board see the last 16 as a bonus and getting through to the last 8 would be good but they aren't bothered as they see the squad as good enough to win the league without these two

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Says who?Everytime I read a quote from Lenny he's saying they don't want to sell but every player has a price. To me that isn't a guarantee one or both will be going now.If the bids come in then they have a decision to make but until they do I will stay relaxed. We have a good record of finding gems at the moment so i'm sure John Park has been working wonders over the last few months and we will have players lined up just in case.I have trust in Lawwell, Lenny and most of all our scouting system.

LM67 {Ed007's Note - I would be surprised if we lost either, and astounded if we lost both of them.}

Believable2 Unbelievable2

After that Hampden disaster I think the board would be very foolish to sell both; as the supporters would go 'Raj Bongo'.
Even if there are solid offers, we do not need to sell in our financial position.
We do however need to add a flair player and a bit of experience to marshal these wobblers - especially in important Cup games - NOW.

stef67 {Ed007's Note - Hi Stef, nice to hear from you and thanks. I am in total agreement about the type of player we are needing, we lack a creative spark in the middle of the park going into the final third. On the issue of EBTs, those decided by the First Tier Tax Tribunal to be illegal tax payments are clearly illegal payments under SPL rules also. Those other EBT payments which the FTTT concluded were loans, but are being appealed by HMRC, are also illegal payments because their contractual documentation were not declared to the SPL or SFA. Loan Payments are still PAYMENTS.

Believable7 Unbelievable2

Correct If I buy a car and "Loan" it to a player that would have to be declared cash or goods makes no differance.

Agree3 Disagree1

They received PAYMENTS for being players at Rangers. Statements by former players proves the EBT arrangements were part of their employment negotiations with their agents and Old Rangers.
New Rangers Rangers have nothing to do with this as its a new club. CG did not buy Craig Whyte's football club.
The PAYMENTS would not have been made if the players were not employed by old rangers and had side contract letters which were undisclosed to SPL/ SFA.
