disappointing today again and yet again no change in tactics or fresh legs til in and around the 80th minute I think

debate on here atm is whether sami or ledley will stay:

sami I feel is gone like all of us would like to see. he does far to many aimless runs where he should pick a pass out but we are a lot weaker with him in the team

ledley should also go. he was barely mentioned in that game again today and when I did hear his name it was for a bad touch and given possesion away. I watched him closely and for me all he done today was stay behind the ref

stokes still needs a partner up front cause again he isn't messi and ronaldo and when there is a few playing up in and around we can play 1 or 2 touch passes where as we have saw we are capable of and get chances out of it

congrats to the defence and gk again today. some good saves today by forster and looks like he's getting his confidence back again. he even came and fisted the ball away with a good punch in a crowded box, something I don't recall ever seeing

ledley, samaras, forrest should not play the next game or be anywhere near our team yet they seem to be the first names down. we missed the energy of kayal today. he gets stuck in and doesn't go missing in games

Went off on a rant to GJ when I came on to talk about that t%at in charge of the undead.
In papers talking about the gulf between us and them (acknowledges finances) then next thing wanting to buy player after player in January when losing £1m month.
So he does know about money but can only mask his indeficiences by signing better players no matter the end result to his zombies.
When is that mob going to c thru the charlatan

@Stevo: They will learn soon enough that sneaky is perhaps the biggest problem at sevco.

He has played a blinder.Giving his proxy vote to a supporters club when he, like the rest of us, knew there was not a chance of changing the status quo. Sadly for them they cant, or refuse to see, that sneaky looks after number one.

The nonsense he came out with is another season ticket plea, please help us or the Tims will win the ten. Pathetic. I still fully expect an administration when the season ends.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wonder if he takes into consideration his own personal house finances when his wife wants to buy a new outfit or handbag. Of course not he's on 800k and I assume his personal home outgoings aren't as much. Too bad he can't think of the rangers expenses in such terms.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just been told that apparently sneaky has had a new kitchen fitted, at the cost of £40k! I hope it's at least blue in honour of the mugs who bought it for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

My mate fitted the kitchen. f***in scraps from the the last job and fleeced the poor chap.
we all have our acumen.
apparently not. gutteral laugh

Tbh my mate never never fitted that kitchen but it sounds in par with the spending tacts of late har har

Stevo I hope they never see through him, see he is trying to rally the supporter's regarding us winning 10 in a row and they still can't see it, fool's

Hi Ed - I was at the Livingston-Raith game yesterday, and Livi had an 18 year old in central defnce - Coll Donaldson. He was at QPR on trial last week, I have heard a rumour tht fulham were looking at him (is j collins an agent perhaps?), and Manchester United are definitely aware of him and had him on trial. He is big, versatile (CB, RB, or even in midfield I believe) and has decent skills - comfortable on the ball, strikes a good dead ball/free kick. He is very raw, and looks a bit ungainly when he runs, but sticks his head when needed, defends well, and clearly has the ability to go far in the game. Given the interest from english sides, he should be a player that we are (at the very least) aware of. cheap, and one for the future. Jean-Pierre Laguerre

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I hope we have not forget Big Frazer from the youths, never let anyone down in his brief starts. I don't know how well his rehab is going but the kid looked to be a great prospect, bit of the Virgil about him from what I remember.

Agree0 Disagree0

Right jpl we need to get you on the scouting team asap

Agree0 Disagree0

Further to my post above, it appears from another forum that Martin Ferguson (brother of sir alex) was at the game too, watching this kid. I personally spotted Alex Miller - who I assume is a scout for somebody, but Livi have a few promising youngsters (good academy) so he may have been there to look at somebody else. I'm not saying Donaldson is the player for us, he actually runs in a really weird style, but he is definitely attracting a lot of interest from english sides. Jean-Pierre Laguerre.

Agree0 Disagree0

Both of my boys are at Livingston's academy and the way they teach the kids to play football is excellent. There is no focus on results, no interest in results, the focus is all on the kids being comfortable on the ball, comfortable to be able to take the ball under pressure and to be able to keep the ball. I know that sounds like a lot of academies but believe me it isn't. A lot of them still concentrate on results, concentrate on size over ability and Celtic are guilty of this as well. How many players who have come through the Celtic youth system are currently playing in the EPL. bet it's not as many as Livingston. Livvy currently have 3 or 4 players who will go on to much better things, Coll Donaldson is one, Stefan Scougal is another and Jean-Pierre you are correct John Collins is their agent.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks - that was a complete guess, tying up the Livingston-Fulham thing. A quick glance at the programme told me most of Livingston's squad are ex-Academy (Livingston Youth) and Scougall is clearly a bit of a cult hero. (Too small for us I really believe). I just hope that Celtic are fully aware of the talent coming through, as clearly we are in pole position to sign these guys, and so should have our pick of them (due to location, likliehood of first team football, finances available etc). Jean-Pierre Laguerre.

Agree0 Disagree0

QPR have made a bid of around £150,000 for Livingston starlet Coll Donaldson.

Loftus Road gaffer Harry Redknapp had the stopper, 18, on a seven-day trial last week and was so impressed that the Championship side are now in discussions with Livi over a January transfer.

Redknapp has jumped to the head of the queue for Donaldson, who is also being tracked by Manchester United and a host of other English clubs.

Old Trafford scout Martin Ferguson watched him in action against Raith on Saturday but QPR are now favourites to land him.

Donaldson is a Scotland Under-19 international and one of the country’s most promising kids.

He’s a regular at Livi and was invited for a trial with Manchester United last January. Ferguson followed up the Red Devils’ interest but Redknapp expects to snare Donaldson first.

I left home at 8 am and spent the thick end of £150 quid to watch that today, and I am far from happy. Don't get me wrong, a win and another clean sheet is fair enough, but some things are starting to really annoy me.

Firstly, Sammi and Forrest. I don't think pathetic would be too strong to describe their display today.Between the two of them they contributed NOTHING. After praising Biton in the two displays actually worth watching in away games Lenny leaves him out.Baffling.Even more baffling is why the two of them were not subbed at half time. I reiterate, they contributed NOTHING. let's be honest, if ICT had scored we could have had no complaints.

Maybe it was the early kick off coupled with the time of year but we were very average today. let's get this talk of 'invincible's' played down.Win the league asap and get some young blood into this team. Lenny, worryingly for me, seems to be showing signs of MON's biggest weakness, function over style. We started well and scored early, why did we not just keep the ball moving and frustrate them? For a while they looked as if ICT were getting frustrated and could not get the ball from us. Keep picking passes and run them out, instead we somehow let them right back into it.And the second half was worse.

I posted a few weeks ago that we might be heading for some problems. New signings not showing up, experienced players leaving and a general malaise, it seems to me, setting in when we go in front. Why the changes from the line up in the murderwell and hertz games? Very disappointing after the travelling and expense.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Green jhedi I could not make it to the match so settled down to watch on tv.
2 minutes in we score and I waited on a few more goals to be rattled in but what we got was pathetic.
samaras should not start another game.
the strikers we have are the least talented bunch I have saw in 30 years watching the hoops.

GJ, at the game today as I was on Boxing Day and cost me a fortune at this tight time of yr. drove up on my own today and on way back wondered why I bothered.
Don't know if it's cause of recent events but in both games it's been very surreal, very quiet. Might b down to the play but nothing to get the fans going, likewise no noise for the players to gee them up.
Sami, for 6 seasons has flattered to deceive, time to go. No way is he worth more than contract offered, I'd rather see a youngster given a game. Wld give more effort on a fraction of wage. Forrest, read my previous posts! Somebody please explain why he gets a game.
Positively, we go unbeaten into new year but it's tough on the eye, spent a fortune going alone due to circumstance this season and it's hard to justify the outlay to "her that must be obeyed" when I come back with face tripping me lol!
Can't see any big signings next month or at least the ones we want.
Ed, thoughts?
Steve Dundee

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I will be amazed if there are any major signings next month.}

I went to both St J + Inverness away GJ and I think I've spent about £200+ (bus, tickets, scoop, etc) and for the first time in my puff stood at an away game thinking "What am I doing here?!" - I don't want to feel like that, I want to go back to waking up thinking "IT'S FOOTBALL DAY!" which is down to not only the quality on the pitch, but the style of football we're playing. Agree that Sammy + Ledley should be dropped, as should Forrest + Ambrose. I'd play the following against Partick:

Forster
Fisher - Virgil - Mulgrew - Izzy
Biton
Matthews - Broony - Commons
Atajic - Balde

Adventurous? Maybe. But our stagnant team needs to be mixed up - and let's be honest, against the likes of Partick even our fringe/youth players should be beating them if Motherwell are pumping them 5-1 on their own patch! I've noticed the last few games we really miss having that "in the hole" DM role that big Vic played, teams are getting space between our MF + DF but not utilising it, mostly down to Virgil running the roost.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said Green Jhedi. We the fans can not all be wrong. For some time now certain players have flattered to deceive and it appears that Lenny may be stubborn in his team selections.

I can accept players having an off day but not when it happens practically every week. Forrest and Samaras are realy starting to get on my nerves as it is evident there is a lack of effort from them especially when they lose the ball and make no attempt to back-track to help the team. What is it that Lenny and his fellow coaches see from the dugout that we are missing?

I would rather see some of our younger players introduced who would no doubt inject some enthusiasm into our play.

Great site Ed and Happy New Year to all Bhoys and Ghirls.

BonnyJoe

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with Hamilton Bhoy, why is Atajic not starting for us. Our strikers don't score goals and the Celtic fans would give this kid all the time in the world because he comes through the ranks. Even if they are only played at home where we tend to have more of the ball, more chances. We need to have faith in these kids otherwise we might as well shut the academy and put the money into the transfer pot. NL says he would love to play them but results are what matters, well play them and they may well surprise you, if they are good enough then they are old enough so get them in the team.

I see dougie mcdonald is back as ref advisor why is peter lawell accepting this? what next dallas back in the fold

Believable0 Unbelievable0

What I don't get about this situation is, Did the Linesman not have his License revoked because he was still doing kids and amature games.

how can the SFA ban the Linesman for telling the truth then allow McDonald back into the game when he was proved to be a liar .

It makes you think what the SFA's it ad proper rule are .

Agree0 Disagree0

If Lawwell is planning on taking the SFA shilling, which it looks like he is, he better be prepared for the flak he will get. This will be justified by the shocking re-election of that clown Ogilvie, a re-election we SUPPORTED! disgraceful.

Agree0 Disagree0

As per my original post I believe that the sfa did not inform uefa the reason for dallas resignation as he was given the option to leave or be sacked. Also I do not know why Lawell is in with this sfa

C, mon Lennon give this team a kick up the ar. this not the way celtic teams play .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I know where you are coming from but they are unbeaten so far and just had a 6th clean sheet in a row, some credit is surely due,,, deep river bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Did not play well today but what can you expect when you are playing with 2 men short, think Lenny need's to open his eye's or one of the back room staff should tell him

Just thawed oot after nearly freezing ma bits off watching that dross today, yes 3 points, a clean sheet & keeping the run going is all well & good but it's the boring style of play that's a killer, with the leagues already won, surely it's time Lennon brought in some of our fresh hungry young kids & mixed things up a bit?! Oh & a bit of tactical awareness from NL would also help greatly.

Hi ed

just wondering your opinion on whether samaras and ledley will stay? Ledley has been my favourite player for a long time and would be a bit gutted if he left.

Darren

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - As time goes on it looks less and less likely either player will stay.}

IMO

Sami - no to on/off will take the risk & find a replacement however when on form can be amazing.

Ledley - I would keep, would offer him Scott brown wages however hearing joe's wife wants to move back to be nearer Cardiff (all rumour).

Sorry m8 was ma post at 2
Ledley is a decent player no doubt beverage better than brine and yo say he is more influential than commons would be nuts, without commons we would struggle, same as second half if last season

Agree0 Disagree0

@4 MB If it was my post you were answering, I did not say Ledley was more influential than Common's, what I meant was that Joe cover's anyone in midfield when they go forward, just feel at time's he doe'snt get the recognition he deserve's for his work rate
Tambhoy

29 Dec 2013 22:59:08
Tam bhoy a do think Ledley is a good player, ma point is there are better and more influential players in our team than him. If we lost commons at moment a think wed b screwed same as 2nd half of last season. So for me no chance for 30 000 week or even more

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - The thing is MB Ledley is already one of the top earners at the club. He was giving the deal because he was signed as a Bosman so there isn't much scope for a pay rise if he extends his stay. Is Ledley worth breaking the wage structure for? In my opinion he isn't, if the club are willing to pay £30k a week (the average EPL wage) there are better and more influential players out there that we need more than a MF like Ledley.}

Said it before and al say it again samaras and Forrest should be no where near a starting eleven for celtic over 90 mins they offer next to nothing at best Forrest should be an impact sub and samaras should go he's ran his course as a celtic player

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Dec 2013 13:18:25
Neil Lennon needs to realise, especially after this half a game and the 2 previous games that Stokes & Sammy should NOT be in the team.

Again, Ledley has done nowt, Forrest has been MIA as usual.

The rest at least look interested in playing. Are the players on the bench really that bad that we need to have these wasters in the first team?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Dec 2013 13:35:11
Was gony say the same samaras and Forrest show the odd flash apart from that nout

Agree0 Disagree0

A centre forward is clearly required as stokes clearly isn't up to it but how many strikers would flourish with our two wide players (Sammy Forrest) and centre mid (brown Ledley)refusing to create anything decent. Don't care who goes if we can't get better performances more regular then let's start over with a new coach and new tactics.
