hmmmm a wee observation, wonder what the celtic fans response would be today if it were a cetlic header that crosed the line but wasnt counted and the gers went on to win 1-0 ..... i reckon it would be a very safe time to be a ref ! not to worry Mr Mcbride you'll get ur moment to rant again :oP .... We on the other hand will accept that the linesman just didnt see the ball over (no blame can be laden on the ref) and we will move on from it ........ its amazing how two sets of fans from the same place with the same background can be so different eh ........... lol

Germinator (hook sharpened :oP)

Believable0 Unbelievable4

Aw Germ...away, there has been fans complaining (obviously not your dignified self). The goal would have made no difference we would still have won. What about Hooper's 'offside' or Healy's assault on Forrest. Pretty much evened out I would say lol. Here's your hook back, your turn..

Agree3 Disagree1

Stop yer whining, it happened so fast that not even a Rangers player at the time claimed a goal.

Rangers lost, Celtic won, you'll get over it in a few days time.

Agree3 Disagree0

Germ, no-one thought it was a 'goal' at the time, not your players, not the commentators or fat sally. I bet even you thought it came off post and bounced out. We all knew that Hooper was onside when Sammy played him through but didn't look for conspiracies!

Facts are facts, you didn't score, you didn't win and you are now second!

We welcome the chase!

DazzaBhoy

Agree3 Disagree1

Lol bite bite dazza ...... i actually thought the ball hit the post the first time and came out .... seen then thought it was saved then realised it was over .... as i said no point greein about it well get it back at somepoint im sure ..... well played first poster (only one that took the post for the tongue and cheek it was) the rest slapped the rhage specs on lol

Germinator

Agree2 Disagree0

If you have a look at Jelavic at the goal that never was. He has his arms up in the air cheering. As for this talk about hopper offside. Why are you complaining about an offside decision? Do you think a clear goal not being given and an offside decision going against yourselfs is even lmao. Catch a grip Celtic won the game. If anyone had a reason for complaining it should be Rangers but that's not in our nature to complain. We will take it on the chin and move on.
FF81

Agree1 Disagree3

Dazza it did hit the post didn't it?
FF81

Agree1 Disagree0

Germinator....the fact remains your team are very poor, kilmarnock caused celtic far more problems than your mob,if you accept that the linesman never saw the incident...why are you still going on about it?

Agree1 Disagree0

Jelavic and Wallace both claimed for the goal (check the replays!) .... the others didn't as they were too far away to see, so was the linesman and ref. Celtic got off the "hook" last night!

Agree1 Disagree2

The 1 v 1 that hooper was off - side did hooper not round your goalkeeper . i think he dd so he would have scored so it is still a big decision that went against celtic. As was Healys tackle.

Agree2 Disagree0

I never knew anything about it until I got home...still think we would have won regardless. Was defo a tough one to call for the linesman & ref but just starts the whole goal line technology debate all over again. Times are a changing.. Mrs E

Agree1 Disagree0

If the ref and assistant aren't sure it was in they can't give a goal, therfore they didn't! And yes i do believe the decision to give Hooper offside was just like chalking off your goal! Hooper was clean through and would have put the ball past mcgregor.

Reality is your mob have dropped 11 points in the last seven games, lost to killie, st mirren and celtic and only drew with st johnstone!

We welcome the chase bears.

DazzaBhoy

Agree2 Disagree0

Germinator , i'm absolutely certain Rangers will "Get It back" as you call it 100 fold mate , i think even you know you'd have a cheek on you to moan about Refereeing decisions .

Agree1 Disagree0

The ref blew his whistle for offside and the players stopped except hooper. Anyway if it never got called offside McGregor would have saved it lol.
FF81

Agree0 Disagree2

Just to go back on the goal that wasn't lol. From where I was sitting in the stadium it clearly hit the post or didn't it?
FF81

Agree0 Disagree0

Watched the replays, clearly never crossed the line, jellyfish wasn't claiming a goal he was trying to con the referee into a penalty because Forster handled it. Worth a try for that cheating diving baysterd.

Agree1 Disagree2

I sit behind the goal & just looked like it hit the post and bounced out but my eye sights no the best FF81.. In real time, these things happen so quick - Mrs E

Afternoon Mrs E saw your posts earlier about young Forrest in top 100. He has come on leaps and bounds, one thing he needs to improve still is his final ball too many times it hits last defender but he will only get better.
I was not at game last night as I was recovering from flu, but gave my 2 season tickets to relatives up from England, they could not believe atmosphere the Celtic fans made last night.
Hope you had a good christmas and this result was icing on your christmas cake hail hail Timalloy

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Afternoon Tim..I was at the game last night. Suffering for it today, my voice is almost gone lol.

Atmosphere was brilliant ! I'm just so impressed with the way we've came back from November, not getting too carried away still half a season to go. Loved U2's New Years Day at the end.

Hope you & your family had a lovely time. Mrs E

Agree2 Disagree1

Don't talk tosh Tim. You have previously said you haven't got season ticket. You are a laptop fan. What is all this drivel you are posting. Can you stop it you are embarrassing yourself and us.

Just because someone disagrees with yourself you say im a bear in disguise. I'm a regular poster on here. i was at the game last nite thot we were the better team and deserverd the win. yes rangers fans will be moaning about wallaces header but what about hooper who was clearly onside also in the first half celtic had a penalty claim for a handball i couldnt realy see it as i was sitting at the other end so dont know to much about it also havent seen any replays of it. anyway i was just wondering if anyone had and if it was a penalty or not

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Yes Rangers did have a hand ball in the box but the ref turned away.

Just a flying visit today but Celtic merited their victory. No excuses the better team won, Rangers were an absolute embarrassment.

Gerry The Ger.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Gerry not going to give you it tight but surely you must be asking wtf is ally playing at ? aluko was rangers best man then 2nd best man was wallace but he subs the 2 of them ?

lenny

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree with you Gerry. We were a shambles at times last night. We can only get better cause we can't get any worse. Celtic out played us in large parts of the game.
FF81

Agree1 Disagree1

Being honest Lenny i don't think McCoist is up to the job. I thought we might see some attacking football at Rangers once McCoist took over but he's probably the most defensive manager i have ever seen. If it was anyone else apart from McCoist as manager they would have been sacked by now. FF81 we cant get much worse bud but i cant honestly see how we are going to get any better either unless the secret millionaire pays us a visit and buys us a new team.

I have to tip my hat to Neil Lennon , when i saw his team selection i was a bit surprised , Thomas Rogne and Joe Ledley at left back , but it worked a treat , every Celtic player stood up and was counted when it mattered , Rogne outstanding , Brown great performance , Ledley my man of the match , well done lads , back on top where we belong .

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Ledley has been playin at left back for weeks.

Agree0 Disagree0

He played left back on Saturday , but as Victor has been excelling at centre half i though he would have played there with Mulgrew at left back and Ledley in midfield replacing Ki , but Neil called it right .

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Dec 2011 11:07:57
I know we have had lengthy injuries to key players but Rangers have totally folded since losing Naismith even though I never rated him that special? This highlights how one-dimensional they are now.
I also thought that Sally took off 2 off his better performers in Aluko and Wallace when he was panicking and being worked from the back by McDowell. The hotline to Walter-no surname will be red-hot this morning; not to mention Boydy's speed dial. Although I reckon Jelavic price just dropped by £8.5m after last night?
However now is not the time to gloat but keep up the momentum, score many more goals and keep up the clean-sheets at the back.

There are many reasons about last night’s performance that was so pleasurable to watch, to see Jellyfish shown up for the player he was (No way near 9 million) but more importantly to be BACK at the top. This has been a long time coming and last night Lennon showed his credentials to become a great Celtic manager. I don’t think O’Neil’s Celtic could turn around 15 points in so little time. All of a sudden the first half in Kilmarnock is a distant memory away and you can see that every single player on the park is playing for Lennon, Johan, Thomo and US.

The greatest thing about this team is the average age is 22, YES! 22 - Incredibly impressive and there is nothing to stop this team from dominating the SPL for the next 5 to 10 years (as long as we can retain them).

When Lennon took over, he spoke about growing a team to win the championship for years to come and I think in these players he has found it. Our starting 11 is very strong and we are greatly rich on the bench as well as an abundance of talent who can not make the bench for match days and then we have bhoys out on loan who could walk in to that Rangers team - Rasmussen, McGinn, O'Dea and Juarez to name a few.

I just hope that we manage to keep this team together as I believe they can achieve great things in the next few years - Possibly, dare I say it, another European final, be it CL or EL!

Hail Hail and what a way to start the New Year.

Linnie88

Believable6 Unbelievable2

You been up all night drinking its only December and you are 2 points ahead and your talking about CL final haha Concentrate on not bottilng it this season first its yours to throw away and we will be waiting when you do.

Dhim Reaper

Agree1 Disagree5

The team is far from complete:we need a least one quality centre half, a striker who can bloody head the ball(big Johnny Hartson type) if we get them in and win the league then we can start thinking of Europe. HH

Agree2 Disagree1

The same squad that couldnt qualfy from thir europa group are capable of the champ league final ????

Agree2 Disagree3

As I said, the team are only averaging an age of 23! They can only get better! They were very close to qualifying for the next stage of EL.

The weather is changing dramatically in Govan at the moment it was +15 last month and it is -2!! We welcome the chase...

Agree3 Disagree2

Lol so u nearly qualified from a group in an inferior competition and u think somehow that ur good enuf for a champ league final .... u beat one of the poorest gers teams in a long time that was also missing their most important players whilst in a poor piece of form at ur own ground that is all ..... lol and u seem to think this equates to one day maybe putting yourself in the same league as Barca ....... just wen exactly do the schools go back then wee man ?!

Agree0 Disagree2

The same squad that couldnt qualfy from thir europa group are capable of the champ league final ??

The same group that was harder than man utd's champions league group? the same group that we only lost to the winners of 2 years ago in?

Agree2 Disagree0

I can't wait til we get to the Champions league final. It is going to be such a great day...

Bring on yer Barca by the score!!

Agree2 Disagree1

The sam squad who got beay by Sion over 2 legs?!

Agree2 Disagree1

Jellyfish same price as hooper about 2million max both crap last night

Agree9 Disagree1

OK! Ok! maybe that was a bit of an exageration saying cl but the poster has got a point we did have a very difficult group which we played very well in ...but how can the gers fan talk about our euro exploits but forgets that his championship winning team got knocked out not once but twice from two of the poorest sides in the europa leagueand knocked out of a league cup 4th round tie from a injury hit middle of the road falkirk side!!!stones at glass houses comes to mind!!

Well done to NL and all the players for knuckling down and overhauling a 15pt deficit before Jan!
I have been on here slating certain players and doubting the manager in Oct/Nov and it's only fair that I applaud their efforts in the last 10 weeks.
We have won nothing yet but we have put their gas on a peep and scunnered a few of our tabloid foes for the time being.
Here's hoping for a couple of class additions and a focus and determination to finish the job.
Thank you Celtic for brightening up life AGAIN.
Happy New Year to all the Bhoys and Ghirls on here.

full credit to Lenny & 10/10 for EVERY player wearing the hoops tonight.
so often have we seen a superior celtic side being on the wrong end of an old firm result, but tonight, our total domination of a piss poor rangers "team" rendered a rotten (biased)refereeing performance insignificant, as we coasted to the most one-sided 1-0 victory i've seen in a long long time.

why blow the half-time whistle, bang on 45mins, just as samaras has ripped the proverbial out of papac and was tearing in on goal? i always thought it was advantage to an attacking team and you only blew the whistle when there was a lull in play or in neutral ground?

fat sally's game plan worked, mcullochthug eventually injured one of our most influential players, and within 2 minutes, he was subbed as if to say...'job well done, now we need to play football'
another sub, with practically his first touch of the ball was to injure another of our more influential stars, Forrest....no wonder Lenny decided to bring Hooper off, he was next on the person s**t-list!

For me, it could easily have been 5-1 for the rightful champions, throw in well-deserved red cards for laugherty, mccullochthug & healy, and that 5-1 could be 7-1 (again) {Ed001's Note - the whistle goes when time is up, nothing else, it doesn't matter who has possession. It is only offside decisions that are meant to be given in favour of the attacker, if in doubt.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I know what you're saying Ed, but in all my years of watching football, i've never seen a ref blow, to the second, exactly 45mins. the common sense approach is they usually wait until an attack is over before blowing.
i just find it very strange {Ed003's Note - I thought the ref had a good game to be honest,just enjoy the win }

Agree5 Disagree0

The fourth officials board said 0 minutes of injury time ..... its happened loads of times he played 0 mins of injury time cos there were no real injuries in first half dunderhied ! besides the ref blew the whistle directly after gers had finished attacking and celtic were on half way line theres your "break in play" still greetin even wen u win ... ur a classy one !

Agree0 Disagree2

It's called stoppage time, not injury time, dunderheid yerself!

Agree1 Disagree0

I dunno Ed, i thought the ref was too scared to make big decisions, at least 2 rangers players should have been shown red.
he's definitely in the mix of the worst refs we have.
still, not complaining, more bemused at some very odd decision making
