Anyone see the Freekick from young larsson? I always thought about him playing for us some day I think he has huge potential, I haven't seen much of him but from What I have I reckon he would be worth a go. What's everyone's thoughts on him? .

Believable2 Unbelievable1

I think if his name wasn't Larsson, no one would be talking about him on this board.

One swallow doesn't make a summer
One free kick doesn't make a footballer.

I'm guilty of keeping an eye on him as well. Best of luck to the lad.
We have to admit it's a void that will never be filled.

To be fair he's been getting a lot of good reports but we should just let him develop and if he ends up at the club someday then great!

Are there any fans that would like Nigel pearson to get the managers job? I know he's not the biggest name in the game, but I think he'd do a great job. It's been well documented that Leicesters last few months under his management started the ball rolling for this season. obviously I'd like a top manager in but I think this is a viable option.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

29 Apr 2016 23:27:46
imo there are far too many options in front of him to be considered I reckon he's about tenth choice on their list of on it at all.

Of all the prospective and perhaps most realistic (as in who we might be able to bring in) as managers that have been mentioned Roberto Di Matteo is the one that most does it for me but who knows?
As long as who ever it is brings life back I will be happy CL spot would be nice lol.

Should we sign his son too, he could help to build team spirit in the night clubs . Introduce our youth.

I really don't get the clamor for RDM.

What has he done of note? Yes he won the Champion's League, but he took over halfway through the tournament and, using every page of the Cardigan's UEFA cup manual, got across the line with a team of absolute superstars. (and even more luck)

He got found out six months later, and then failed at Schalke. In fact, if you count his time at WBA, it's always went the same way with him. As I say, I don't get it.

Agree4 Disagree4

30 Apr 2016 09:50:40
Am the same about RDM thepoeticpatient.
I want someone who have served their apprenticeship
Someone with authority
Not someone who has had less than 3 years as a manager.

Seen hendersons young brother played well last night is that the one he said is miles better than him or is that the one at hearts . that got me thinking . have three bothers played In the same league at same time. I know we had the 3 mcstay on our books at the same time but can't remember the youngest ever playing in any league for us or anybody else when he left.

29 Apr 2016 18:56:58
Isn't he the one that big ferunson rapped the heed on? Playedo for Falkirk?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - That was Jock McStay, Kev. The younger one was Raymond and he went on to play for Accies for a while.}

Ed you will now better than me, but didn't the 3 Wallace (Rod, Ray and Danny) all not only play 1st div football in England but all played at same time for Southampton?

Haven't posted in ages, too depressed on what's going on.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Yes mate they all played for Southampton together but I'm not sure it it was a regular occurrence.}

29 Apr 2016 22:44:16
The Jacobs triplets plus the older brother keaghan all played for Livingston in the one game.
Not high profile I know but doubt you can beat 4 lol
They all came through grass roots at Murieston Utd after moving from abroad at an early age.
Very decent players for the club at the time, after the 4 of them playing at the same time there was still always 2 to 3 playing or in and around the squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Apr 2016 07:38:34
Livingston had the Jacob's triplets who all played for them about 3 years ago. Their big brother keaghan also played in the same team. sure all 4 of them were on the pitch at the same time a few times.

It is that brother Henderson said was better than him. His other brother doesn't play for anyone big. Just Liam and Ewan at Celtic.

ED007 Punchestown 6.05 your namesake is running O O SEVEN 15/ 2, got my pennies on it lol.

{Ed007's Note - I might have a quid on that, cheers.}

O O SEVEN was 2nd (I was on best odds each way at 10/ 1, so made a wee profit) hope you were on ED007.

Ed Did you get out the wrong side of bed and hit the wall or something. hahaha.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - It's fine now, we've set up a system so that when Rab posts, every Ed gets and e-mail, a text alert and a bash on the head from a Wallace and Gromit alarm system.}

29 Apr 2016 16:19:18
Is there really any need for that type of response?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Was there any need for you to waste our time posting in asking where your posts were? We've got more important things to do that trawl through whiny posts from people full of their own self importance that they think everything they write should be posted and done immediately.}

29 Apr 2016 17:48:05
Not sure if you are aware but you can get help for that inferiority complex of yours.

Agree1 Disagree2

{Ed007's Note - Well we know the alarm works. There's nothing inferior about me, I'm actually a sociopathic misanthrope with narcissistic tendencies. Mankind and humans in general disgust me and I find most of them aren't worthy of sharing the same oxygen or planet as me. I've never came across an equal to me let alone anyone superior. My ego and reputation enter a room five minutes before my body.
Maybe you should have checked what an inferiority complex actually is before mentioning it - or was it on an old school report you read it?}

29 Apr 2016 19:05:56
Big Isa gie you a knock back Ed? :-) (y)

Could we see a Lambert, Petrov double act? Lambert manager, Petrov assistant and player? . Certainly seems to be sound bites.

Believable1 Unbelievable6

29 Apr 2016 12:02:24
Wouldn't take Petrov as a player.

Agree1 Disagree1

Blackburn fans are delighted that lambert is leaving . and a player coach who is 36 and just recovered from a life threatening illness . this is celtic minded dedicated gone mad.

29 Apr 2016 13:50:04
I don't know Kev, maybe as a bit part for a season, impact sub maybe. The team was lacking the sort of player who can drive things over the line this season.

Agree1 Disagree2

29 Apr 2016 14:32:45
People do recover DRB. Knowing Petrov style and his engine SPL football wouldn't be beyond him esp if used in those tight, dull, going nowhere games that need an injection mid sec half. Just a thought. As for Lambert, certainly better than present and certain past efforts. Wouldn't be my first choice but can we hope for better given the present mind set.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Apr 2016 15:38:49
Ttts. yes they do recover but do they play professional sport again and at 36 . if it was any player other than petrov (or any ex celt) what would your reaction be? Also he choose to leave us in his prime so why take him back when he's done . on lambert or other similar level . yes we should expect and should demand better.

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Apr 2016 15:36:28
I know you're coming from a good place TTTS but I really can't see Petrov being anywhere near the player he was or we need. A case of your heart ruling your head IMO. Can you imagine the fan meltdown if we were to sign any other mid-thirties player who'd already retired previously due to cancer?

Just a thought guys not set in cast and most prob a bit of nostalgia.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Apr 2016 17:37:15
Nostalgia is a slippery slope ttts. if we let you play petrov pl would have the remaining living lions out on Saturdays with all the merchandise ready to sell. on second thoughts is that a bad idea?

30 Apr 2016 00:21:46
Petrov could probably still pass Brown off the park mind you that's not that hard anyone could do that.

There's nothing to stop us making plans and working on a manager's targets while he manages at the Euros. Man Utd did it with LVG a couple of years ago.

Interesting listening to them talking on the radio about Leicester, and how Ranieri used a system that best suited the players available and that he did not use many players through the season in that way building a unity and understanding in the team, just like Ronnie eh?

29 Apr 2016 12:26:13
You know there's more than one way to build a team and play football aindoh right?

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Apr 2016 12:04:16
Fair point TinyTim lol but it's not a massive issue for the club to speak with whoever and set out a plan to bring in certain targets and carry the plan out while the tournament is underway.

I see Quique Sanchez Flores is now looking likely to leave Watford at the end of the season. Would he be a good option for us? There could be a few good managers out of a job in a few weeks (Martinez) , so I hope we hold off til then to make a decision. Obviously the CL qualifiers aren't far away but we need to think long term with this appointment so having to wait on someone leaving their club.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Apr 2016 11:27:28
I wouldn't go for Martinez, he's one of those managers who is loved by the press because he comes across well but has achieved very little in his managerial career.
He is very poor defensively, he took Wigan down and Everton's defence leaks like a sieve.
Celtic should set their sights a bit higher than that.

Agree3 Disagree0

30 Apr 2016 00:54:19
Celtic may set their sights higher than Martinez, but if they do they may get a severe dose of inferiority complex, as it's only die hard supporters like us that sees us as a big ambitious club with plenty of scope for a manager to build his reputation.
Many may see bigger transfer budgets in the English 1st division as a route to build and maintain reputation.
