How much would Roberts loan to girona impact our chances of signing him in January if he fails to make an impact in Spain before then and Celtic make an acceptable offer to City could his loan deal stop it going through? Think our chances are a lot better now than in summer especially if desmond has promised brendan cash to spend in January.

He’s not getting any game time whatsoever at Girona. Unused sub every game. Bring him home.

Just reading PR is contracted until 30,6,19 so I would say we definitely could have a chance of a pre-contract in January although I would prefer if we could get him for perhaps 3million it would be superb, surely the lad must be open to signing for us permanently now 💚🍀.

Although it's a classic case of the grass not always being greener, we have just given Forrest a new deal and currently have Mikey Johnston as back-up; plus Sinclair, Morgan and Christie who can play wide, so although PR is a terrific talent, I would have loved to have signed permanently, so maybe that ship has sailed - unless we sell?

He's that great a talent no one in England went for him and can't get a game for the mighty girona. leave him where he is.

29 Sep 2018 13:06:16
DRB why does it matter that nobody in England went for him? Let’s focus on that he done for the hoops. Terrific first season and granted wasn’t involved much last season due to injury but the Bhoy is a born entertainer and a creative spark that we lack. If it was possible to do a deal I would snap him up ASAP although I understood his deal with city ran until 2020? Regardless of what club he’s at this Bhoy need to be out on that field entertaining and not stuck on the bench.

I am afraid the Paddy Roberts ship has sailed . He was very good in the relative few games he played in his first season . He had injuries but he didn't perform for us in his second season . Now we hear he isn't featuring this season .
I think it would be a very brave manager that would sign him for Celtic without him
Playing well for a number of months . If he plays well for that period he won't look at Celtic .
I would be surprised if D D isn't watching the form of our new signings very closely from now on, if I was B R I wouldn't risk my Celtic future on a player he hasn't done anything for a season and a half.

I've got a solution for the semi finals. play the semi finals the week before the european games. the games that week are celtic v hibs hearts v aberdeen hamilton v sevco. only 3 rearranged games instead of 4 the following week. they could keep it 1 game on the saturday then one game on the sunday, then play european games. come home then play original fixtures, aberdeen v livi dundee v hearts on the saturday, then hibs v sevco early ko for tv and celtic v mwell 3 oclock sunday as planned. everyone is a winner except hamilton but their rearranged match v sevco would still be shown on tv. simples.

There is a tv contract to play them that weekend.
There is another contract with hampden that they must be played there.

the games would still be played at hampden. sat/ sun.

I've just noticed the hamilton v sevco game that weekend is scheduled for sky tv. They would not reschedule to suit bt sports. Maybe the reason it was a no goer in the first place. I thought it was too obvious.

what is wrong with the people on this group?
I have seen several intelligent suggestions on how this semi final chaos could have been and still can be avoided.
This is the SPFL we are talking about and you people should know by now that common sense, intelligent, obvious, practical etc. are words that are strictly forbidden in the decision making committee room.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

28 Sep 2018 22:31:38
Doesn't matter how many solutions we come up with.
SPFL have signed contracts that can't be ripped up.
They've made a baws of it and there is no way out of it.

Kev, you are of course correct.
However, Police Scotland will have some explaining to do if it all goes sour as THEY have backed the plan.
The Police could easily intervene on the grounds of public safety alone never mind anything else.

Oh definitely tiny but I know what they will say right now.
There was no trouble in or around the grounds so we policed them well.

It’s an absolute farce. And as usual it’s the fans being shafted. Sheep having to come down for a showpiece game on a Sunday at 12 is ridiculous. Us at 7:45 on a Sunday takes the piss as not everyone lives in and around Glasgow. We’ve got bhoys over in liepzig taking a few days off to be able to go then now struggling to have the Monday off too. I’m stuck with the dilemma of not getting home till 4am then off at 5 to work away all week. Then we have the issue within Csc that if you don’t take your semi ticket you won’t get a final one, it’s farcical.

As for the policing - what do they think is going to happen? I travel up the m6, those stop offs are going to be bedlam and do they really think those travelling from down south will arrive just in time for the game? no chance, there will be bus fulls in and around Glasgow hours before the game just as that lot are emptying - Crazy.

Didn't, t realise we were due to play hearts the week after the semi-final. Could we not play Motherwell on the Sunday as arranged with different k/ off time than the other semi, then play, hearts the following week at Hampden so it, s only the hearts game that needs to be arranged or, am I thinking too much.

Great to have a 3pm kick off at Celtic Pk on the traditional day Saturday
Let us use it to support and encourage all Celtic players, especially Boyata, who needs support just now .
Let us all remind ref Madden, that we don't like his normal cheating.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

28 Sep 2018 14:33:34
Why should we "especially" support boyata? A man who doesn't want to be here and had a hissy fit which makes our chances of success a little bit more in the balance. Tomorrow support the team to the hilt not an individual would be more appropriate.

28 Sep 2018 18:46:13
Careful Jim you'll be tarred as a boyata basher.

28 Sep 2018 19:52:12
When you have a rogues gallery that includes:- Madden, Beaton, McLean, Thomson, Collum, Clancy and baby Dallas.
You can guarantee honest mistakes and dodgy decisions every week.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Sep 2018 21:53:42
Jim 1972. Boyata has been our best centre half this season and as we arn't sure if having him next year, I thought we should try to encourage him to stay, it's hard enough trying to sign a good centre half and because of that we should do our best to keep one when we have one .
He suffered from a hissy fit from Beaton on Wednesday and bad decisions against Celtic is now the norm in Scottish football most fans will forgive him should he over stepped the mark on Wednesday . I didn't see or hear what he said and so I can't judge him, but I saw Beaton's face &he certainly wasn't demonstrating love and understanding .
Jim you probably didn't notice but I said to support all the players.

Still a Judas that should never wear the jersey.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Sep 2018 10:36:13
Chris there are times you have to accept things and drop the paranoia. Boyata had a hissy fit the ref was right to send him off no Celtic players complained about it including our captain who beating spoke to before changing to a red card, the manager said he was given enough chances not to get sent off but ignored them, and he doesn't want to sign a new contract. He's only playing because he's fit and the best of an average lot.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Sep 2018 14:21:20
Jim, I don't know and I suspect you don't know what Boyata said or did . I can't believe that no one else this decade hasn't done as bad as him but none got straight red.
Ryan Jack said W Collum should retire after our game against Rangers2012.
The compliance officer didn't see anything wrong with that . Gerrard said refs cheated Rangees2012 for years . To say a ref is a cheat is as bad as it can get .
Gerrard wasn't questioned by compliance officer .
So I wonder what terrible thing Boyata said?
Even if he did go over the top, it isn't the role of Celtic supporters to punish him, are job is to help him back by encouraging him to play the football he is capable of.

Hey pud and kevb yes your game was first out the hat to play on saturday, the gers and sheep SUNDAY! So as celtic play on thurs they had to move there game. so the gers aren't getting any favours there just playing when they were meant to.

28 Sep 2018 01:57:31
There's an advantage of playing on a decent surface compared to a cut up bog if it's pissing down later that day.

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Sep 2018 09:36:44
The paranoia is strong on both sides. even rangers fans i know seriously think that referees favour us lol. There is a lot of pish talked from both sides sometimes.

Agree3 Disagree0

28 Sep 2018 12:13:55
Oh the z. o. m. b. i. e paranoia that naebody helped us they all chose to demote us crap remember that when in fact as a new club you needed to start in the bottom division and apply to join the league you were given a temporary licence which in fact doesn’t exist in Scottish football to get playing at all? Remember 2012 and the mysterious 5 way agreement?

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Sep 2018 12:31:55
So the bhoy has spoken you don't see any advantage to playing first?

You don't think it will help hearts that the surface will be cut to piece when they play the long ball?

If not answer this why do hearts grow the grass longer when they are due to play us?

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Sep 2018 12:35:45
It's amazing how some people with a passing interest. In Celtic are prepared to take any shoite from the masons who control the game .
I can understand Rangers2012 fans thinking they are badly done for, as no doubt these fans have a mental age of 6, as their club is just 6 years old.
