The more I think about it, the more I think we should get Rafa in as manager.

Also although I think he lacks experience to manage us just now, I reckon maybe in the future Jack Ross could be a good shout.

Let Neil Lennon do the 10. A safe pair of hands and he knows what it’s all about plus we know what we’ve got.

Ed where is this Benitez link coming from? Is he out of contract at Newcastle? Is he expected to leave at the end of the season? I find our link to him a big strange.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Yeah his contract is up but he is hoping to stay at Newcastle but that'll only happen if Ashley agrees to the changes Benitez wants to make. I would be totally gobsmacked if Celtic announced Benitez as manager.}

28 Mar 2019 19:25:42
I have to admit I would be too, but I think we should at least be trying to get him in. Much more so than the likes of Keane and Moyes.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Oh definitely mate.}

28 Mar 2019 19:48:19
Keane or Moyes please God neither. I’ve watched Celtic play a long time and suffered a lot of pain along the way but please God not either of these two wallapors.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Roy Keane a walloper? That's a yellow...

Gobsmacked in a good way Ed? I don't know how I feel about Rafa the Gaffa.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Gobsmacked in a good way - I think lol I'd be surprised if we showed that level of ambition again as in an EPL level (or La Liga and probably most other leagues) manager and I'd be gobsmacked if he fancied it after talking to Lawwell and the board unless of course we are going to continue down the road of heavily investing in the football side of things. One of the the things Benitez wants at Newcastle is the authority and the money to overhaul their academy and youth set-up.
I think Benitez enjoys the feel of Newcastle as a club and how important it is to their community, city and of course the supporters just like clubs like Liverpool, Madrid, Napoli etc and I do think he would see Celtic as the same kind of Club.
If Benitez took over and was allowed to run things his way he would I have no doubts he would keep on improving on what Rodgers started on and off the field.
It's never going to happen but I'd take Lennon as coach if we could get Benitez as a DOF.}

Ed I know you love him 😂👍☘️.

Is Benitez, not one of these managers, who manage by the cheque book, bit like the Rangers managers did during the EBT years, how would he get on in Scotland with out the same financial resources he is used to, he spent millions at Newcastle and set the world alite, he did not, .

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Mar 2019 05:36:32
How would people feel about wenger I don't know if he is availibile though but he likes to promote youth and doesn't like spending money the type of manager Lawwell would love.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Mar 2019 05:44:44
In comparison to his peers in the EPL Aindoh he's spent nothing at Newcastle.

I think we should look to Belgium or Holland if Lennon doesn't get job.

If he gets treble it would be a huge slap in face if he never got job. Team needs overhaul in summer, he is already here (albeit temporary) but in a good position to assess what needs done.

We need stability, I for 1 am sick of constant media speculation linking our players and managers with moves. At least with Lennon, you know he is here for long haul provided he gets results.

29 Mar 2019 13:13:42
How are we going to know who the Celtic Board want for the Celtic manager's job. ? Will we rely on D Record or the Sun, or will we rely on Radio Clyde .
The club may drop a few names to create a bit of fever pitch speculation, but Celtic usually plays these things close to their hearts.

29 Mar 2019 14:12:09
Love Neil Lennon always have always will Celtic Legend, but he could nit win a treble when newco were in the 4rth tear If the board are really serious and want 10 in a row as much as we do bringing in another top end manager has to be done, then players will come in sentiment blinds to many fans.

Personally I think they will give it to Lenny, although I would like to see a rose/ Rafa taking the reins I think these names have only been bandied about as season ticket renewals are around the corner . Even though we would all back Lenny and love him, after Rogers where he really brought us forward in regards to fitness / coaching I feel we need to keep progressing like this.

Ed have you heard any rumours about serious trouble in the Scotland squad.
Heard something right bad has went on and McFadden was at the centre of it but not what's actually happened.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Nah Kev, I don't pay much attention to what's going on with Scotland. Didn't McFadden and McGregor have a barney last week?}

28 Mar 2019 18:43:17
Kev, been watching McFadden doing his TV and don’t know much about the guy but had been thinking to myself he comes across as a bit of a fud.

28 Mar 2019 21:53:58
McFadden is a Celtic man to, he was the year below ma brother in law at school in Bishopbriggs. but dear god he’s a torn face baw bag! Can’t listen to him or commons on the tele! Like ED said but, what goes on with Scotland doesn’t interest me at all!

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It's not just Scotland with me, LH, I detest international football in general - I'd rather watch a Sly Spurts Scooper Funday Bournemouth V Huddersfield from the Pub League than an international match.}

28 Mar 2019 23:13:59
My thoughts exactly.

29 Mar 2019 06:48:45
He’s a Celtic man alright we played in the same teams as kids. Kev I didn’t have you down as a Scotland fan mate?

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Mar 2019 22:33:53
Jeez, Ed, you must really hate international football big time.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It's dire imo, even the little I did watch of the last World Cup was dismal.}

28 Mar 2019 22:44:21
Am the same ED, any sort of international football is utter pish! Cannot sit and watch any of it! Would do away with it if I had my way!

{Ed007's Note - 👍

Ye there was a niggle on the park that was explained away ed but people are alluding to some pretty bad stuff going on behind then scenes and player just about ready for open revolt.

Am a bit indifferent to international football but I do like to see Scotland do well.

It's funny how things change in football. I remember the players getting into trouble for excessive drinking . Now it has all changed.

Can't stand EBT but I have to say the SFA are worse. If true, how can news of his sacking break before the event? Like him or loathe him he served Scotland well as a player and deserves better treatment. The SFA are the real embarrassment and it needs to be pulled down, rebuilt and repurposed for the 21st century. Won't be holding my breath right enough.

28 Mar 2019 13:19:04
The way he treated our players especially Griffiths he deserve everything that's coming and not one bit of respect.

28 Mar 2019 13:34:12
McLeish deserves nothing but hatred . He has been a low life Manager of Rangers1872 at the height of their EB T and other cheating. Hatred of the man is to nice for him.

Agree2 Disagree0

28 Mar 2019 14:48:54
EBT and the SFA are 'cut from the same cloth' and both parties deserve nothing but maybe contempt and condemnation for the atrociously incompetent and biased manner they conduct their 'house'.

28 Mar 2019 15:34:43
Feel sorry for him? No way. He knew exactly what he was getting himself into and also knew at some point he would be blamed for the mess he would enevitably make of things.
The guy was out his depth and shouldn't have been near the job.

Agree2 Disagree0

28 Mar 2019 16:29:26
He should never of got it walking out of job already.
