Alright Bhoys, me and the better half are away to paradise park in Tenerife next Saturday. I've already told her i have Sunday morning booked already as the TIC play (happy days! ). Point is, does anyone know the best place to watch the game as i know there are a lot of Celtic bars about?

Chris I was over in Tenerife for St Patrick's Day. If your staying I Los Christianos go to the Hoops Bar. You'll need to get there early as it gets very busy.
If your in Las Americas go to The Chieftain Irish Bar. Watched the game there last weekend. Big Bar and plenty of fellow fans to enjoy it with. Even the Wife enjoyed the Chieftain.
Hope this helps.

Hi ed, what dates do we play sevco? The cup game and the league game? I thought it was twice in a week.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - The cup game's on April 15th mate but there's no date for the league game yet. It's usually the first game after the split but that won't happen if we are going to win the league that day and I'd guess if it's our first game at home after winning it they wouldn't have it then either.}

28 Mar 2018 20:13:17
Thanks ed, when would be first game after the split be? Had something planned for the week after the cup game but need to get out of it if it clashes lol.

And as for paddy McCourt he'd still be in the team if he could have got fit.

Believable3 Unbelievable6

28 Mar 2018 19:51:52
He grew up in a city that still has no motorway connections and the train to Dublin leaves Belfast train station 2 minutes before the Derry train arrives with an hours wait in between. Heโ€™d as much chance as I have of being prime minister so all said and done the Bhoy done no too bad. Still think we should be playing his and James McLeans former club in Broons testimonial with some of the funds going to the Ryan McBride foundation. In another time, in another place, in another city in maybe 2 generations from now the Derry Pele could have made the grade!

Would love to see BR go with Ajer and Hendry as the centre back pairing from now until the end of the season to build a partnership together. I know they are both young but imo they're the two best centre halves at the club at the moment.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I said before Hendry came in that I like him and that he would be more than capable of playing for us in Scotland but I didn't think he would have settled in so quickly. Would you be happy to go with that pairing in the CL though?}

28 Mar 2018 14:23:03
Get them playing as many big games as possible together and they could mature into a great partnership. Throw in Tierney and raleston and it could grow into a long lasting stable defence.

Agree0 Disagree3

28 Mar 2018 13:41:35
I would like to see how they do between now and the end of the season Ed. If they form a solid partnership then I would go with them for the CL qualifiers. Maybe Compper could be the other choice. As long as Boyata isnโ€™t part of the equation Iโ€™ll be happy. A lot of fans on other threads seem impressed with the lad McKenna at Aberdeen. Iโ€™ve seen seen him play before but remember Hull having a couple of bids rejected in January. Whatโ€™s your thoughts on this guy ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I've not seen too much of McKenna but from what I have seen I wouldn't say he's anywhere near the level of Ajer or Hendry. We have enough projects and quality youngsters now so anyone coming in has to be better than what's already here.}

28 Mar 2018 16:22:02
I like the look of McKenna, hard as nails, reads the game well, looks more than decent on the ball, Good left foot and would bring balance to the defence, definitely one Brendan should be watching .

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Mar 2018 18:09:24
If Hendry and Ajer have proved themselves fit and capable to put a run together in the SPL, then I cannot see how they are not first choice for Champions League.
We won't know until we try.

Agree1 Disagree3

28 Mar 2018 19:01:02
I think Mckenna would be a good buy if we can get him for a decent price, i like Christie/ hayes too, so maybe a swap and/ or cash, would be a steal and potential profit in it.

Don't see him as a project, then again everyday a day at school. stroll on Saturday. HH.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - If you think at 21 he's the finished article and can't get any better, why would we want him?

28 Mar 2018 21:47:00
For me Ed, no player is the finished article and a player can always improve. comment was don't see him as a project,
Just read my post again and can't find where i stated finished article and can't get any better

Just checked his history: My opinion worth a shot.

Aberdeen since 2014 Loaned out Alloa/ Ayr Scotland U19 Scotland U21 Scotland international.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - "Don't see him as a project."}

28 Mar 2018 22:40:09
Don't see him as project, does'nt mean finished article, somewhere in between Ed, think they call it a Rough Diamond.

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed007's Note - Potato, tomato. Chateauneuf du Pape!

b. the subject of such a task

As you say, 'everyday a school day'.}

28 Mar 2018 23:22:58
yea think the above just describes football training for a team. HH.

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed007's Note - That's OK, I'll keep you right. }

29 Mar 2018 09:00:45
I would like to see Hendry and Ajer given a run as well but with Hendry cup tied for the upcoming semi it might be a better idea to see how Commper and Ajer to together to get some consistency going into that game.

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Mar 2018 23:46:55
If we stick to the 3 at the back would like to see Hendry Ajer and Compper in there see how that goes.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - 3 at the back gives me the fear, especially in Europe. I'm hoping it was more a necessity because of injuries than it being Rodgers plan going forward.}

30 Mar 2018 12:45:59
Coming to the end of his 2nd season I would be worried if B R wasn't experimenting with different defensive formations . Sometimes when he plays what appears to be a std back four, it isn't what it looks like on paper as K T spends the whole game tearing up the wing . I know of one poster lamenting that Lustig doesn't do the same, so he wants a back two.

Most of our experts thought Hendry wasn't good enough for Celtic before he joined us . Quite honesty like McKeena, I hadn't got a notion whether he was good enough or not . I am told that when scouts go to judge a player with a view to signing they watch him for the whole time he is on the pitch, don't take their eyes off him no matter where the ball is, until they have made up their mind . Yet Celtic fans presumably watch Celtic but know whether an opponent is good enough or not .
B R has many good managerial skills, among them is definitely improving players so maybe if a young player has some of the right qualities he may make a player of him
It's refreshing to see the determination and apparent enjoyment Hendry shows.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Mar 2018 11:36:12
Morgan got another 2 for St Mirren last night, thing I've noticed is that he's not scared to shoot from distance. I really hope that is something he brings to our team, Griffiths the only other player I can think of that takes a pop quite regularly, fair enough Ntcham but never really see anything coming from that.

Aye all give you Rogic Kev.

28 Mar 2018 13:57:29
its not like him ken he's usually slagging rogic.

Agree3 Disagree0

28 Mar 2018 14:25:13
Jamesbhoy i have never slagged Rogic's ability. He is a great player. What concerns me is how often he is out injured meaning we can't build a team a round him the way we would want to for a player that gifted.

Agree0 Disagree1

28 Mar 2018 14:38:02
every player has injuries kev, rogic has just been unlucky with them, he's a fantastic player who can always turn games and he always turns up in the big games, he's the best player at celtic.

Agree4 Disagree0

28 Mar 2018 15:25:14
Certainly the most technically gifted player at Celtic, maybe working with his own physiotherapist would be a good idea? Iโ€™m not really sure how it works but surely that would benefit him.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Mar 2018 16:06:13
Yes every player has his own injuries but rogic averages about 20 games a season when we play over 60 games. To be fair last 2 years he lifted that to about 25-30. He's missing more than half the games EVERY season, not just the odd bad season. How can we build a team round him?
Ed put out how many games rogic has played since we signed him and am sure is was under 130 games.
Compare that to Tierney who is on course to play 60 games this season alone.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - He's played 123 games for us Kev - 78 in the league - and he's now in his 6th season with us. Out of the 27 goals he's scored for us in those 6 seasons, 18 of them have been in the league.
Rogic is 25 and without counting internationals he's played 162 games in total in his career compared to KT who at 20 has played 124, and scored 5 league goals.}

28 Mar 2018 16:29:03
Thanks for that ed.
There is no way you can build a stable midfield around a player who plays less than half the games I a season no matter how gifted.
How can we plan ahead if we have no idea if rogic will be available or injured again?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - There's a lot of confusion surrounding Rogic just now. As I've said I was told a while back that Rogic wouldn't be here next season - mostly for the reasons that you've mentioned btw - but it looks like the plan all along was to offer him a contract that was heavily performance/appearance related which is more than likely the offer he's turned down.
Maybe there's a bit of politics is in play here, the Club say they offered him a new deal (knowing he would turn it down?) and Rogic can say the terms weren't suitable, nobody loses face and Rogic moves on.
As a side note, Paddy McCourt was with us for 5 seasons and made 88 apps - only 35 less than Rogic has in 6 his seasons here - and look at the reputation McCourt had.}

28 Mar 2018 17:40:40
the boy has been unlucky with injuries, a fit Rogic starts for me every week no matter what pantie wetters say.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Pantie wetters? If you actually spend some time to read what people are saying you might see that they're agreeing with you.}

28 Mar 2018 17:56:20
Well said ED.

Agree0 Disagree3

28 Mar 2018 18:04:02
it is pantie wetting going on about the guys past injuries, he's fit now let's enjoy him winning cup finals for us and banging in 25 yarders against sevco, who cares about the past?

Agree3 Disagree2

{Ed007's Note - You're taking talking garbage to a whole new level here.}

28 Mar 2018 18:17:03
I like Rogic, coming on for last half hour . I don't know if Celtic would feel themselves justified in giving a new improved contract for a player who based on his career up to now, just doesn't put the hours on the pitch. He definitely has skills that we need, but we need them nearly every game from start to finish . We were happy to get a good 30 minutes from Lubo but at that time Lubo was at least ten years older than Rogic . When Rogic is in his thirties will he be giving ten to fifteen minutes every game.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - That's exactly what everybody's saying, Chris. Nobody's questioning his ability but there are serious concerns over his long term fitness and that causes problems when planning for the future.}

28 Mar 2018 18:59:09
It's not pantie wetting. It's fact.
He hasn't been unlucky with injury. He is injury prone.
Unlucky is getting a big injury that ends a season. Not injury after injury after injury.
Would anyone bet that he won't be injured when he comes back from world cup where he might need to play 3 games a week?

Agree0 Disagree4

28 Mar 2018 19:17:07
hes had less injuries than forrest.

Agree5 Disagree2

28 Mar 2018 21:06:36
How come Forrest has a bigger games average over his time at club than rogic does then?

Agree0 Disagree4

28 Mar 2018 22:23:24
I can see both sides here i would just hate to see him go and play his best stuff elsewhere, i think we have enough cover to have the luxury of him fir the big games, he had the best close control for a guy his size iv seen in a long time but im not disagreeing its frustrating, don't know whete i stand on this one๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ชโœŒ๏ธ.

Agree3 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - That's the thing though, I don't think he will ever be playing enough games to see his 'best stuff', yeah he'll play well and have the odd stormer but then he'll be out injured again. As I said, there's nobody questioning his ability but long term can you see him being an integral part of any team or will he always be either giving us 60 mins or coming off the bench after another injury?
This season Rogic has played in 32 games for Celtic amassing 1929 minutes on the park, that averages 60 mins a game. He has completed one 90 mins match in the CL Groups and 3 in the early season qualifiers and 7 times out of his 15 league apps.
If I could be arsed I'd compare his stats to Scott Sinclair who people are saying they wouldn't care if he left after the season he's had or Callum McGregor who is much more reliable than Rogic to play in the CAM role.}

29 Mar 2018 10:40:29
Gone do it ed, I want to see the figures.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Callum McGregor has played in 45 (Rogic 32) games amassing 2,951 mins (Rogic 1929), that averages 65 mins a game (Rogic 60) and has played the full 90 mins in 22 of those games (Rogic managed 11). McGregor has scored 8 goals compared to Rogic's 5 but they both share the same amount of assists, 8.
Scott Sinclair has also played 45 game amassing 3261 mins on the park, an average of 72 mins per game. Sinclair's played 90 mins in 24 of them - the same as McGregor, but Sinclair has scored 17 goals along with his 15 assists.
James Forrest, has played in 49 games amassing 3,374 mins on the park, an average of 68 mins per game. Forrest has completed 90 mins on 18 occasions scoring 16 goals along with 6 assists.

-----------Games-- Mins----Avg. Mins---90 mins---Goals. Assists.
Rogic-------32-----1929-------60-----------11------------5--------8
McGregor---45-----2951-------65----------22------------8--------8
Sinclair-----45-----3261-------72-----------24-----------17-------15
Forrest-----49-----3374-------68-----------18-----------16--------6

I hope you appreciate that, Steph! :-D

Scott Brown's testimonial committee chose ireland for the game money from the match goes to charity and to help ex celt liam miller's (r. i. p) wife and young family but bigots come out talk absolute rubbish about our club and scott and us the fans.
When the day of the game comes round it will be a great day when we show the bigots that this is how it feels to be part of the celtic family and to give scott the thanks and praise he deserves for being a great captain and leader. (dont remember if there was this amount of rubbish from the bigots when we played ireland in 2005 for jackie macs testimonial)

Believable4 Unbelievable1

28 Mar 2018 18:23:42
Ireland is an excellent choice, often after an international player is getting a testimonial then the match can often be his club v his International team . However a Celtic player couldn't have Scotland because no matter who is the manager and no matter how many Celtic players are on the International team at anyone time, there is always the whiff that Scottish International Football is the target for all Scottish born Rangers players . Celtic players are only keeping positions warm for Rangers players.

Agree1 Disagree0

A know it's not about Scotland fans but honestly how many of the tartan army would come to the game for broonie? By the way a know it's for charity but ยฃ24 a ticket for a kick about is expensive, I'll be there but a hope it's not too expensive to jeopardise a full house.

It looks like we have found a gem in young Lewis Morgan the Saint Mirren player who is joining us in the summer.
According to reports, when the Buddies win the Championship he wants to report to Celtic for the remaining weeks of the season, "to start his fitness regime and get to know what is expected of him at Celtic Park"
With a positive attitude like that, I have no doubt he will be a success as a Celtic player.

IF Sinclair is set for leaving id let him go and say thanks and move on, got Morgan coming on permanent deal and we are transitioning possibly to a 352 no need for a left sided attacker if we do and got Tierney over there playing left wingback as it is. tbh he's been playing like he's away already.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

28 Mar 2018 00:25:18
Na not for me. He's playing a bit under par but he'll come good again, it's not like he's not contributing, he's our top scorer, if this is him not performing al take it. He's had a fair bit of rubbish to deal with recently and he deserves a bit of slack. He'll finish this season strongly and carry it on next season.

Agree4 Disagree1

28 Mar 2018 18:31:10
Players that we have managed to sign and who have played very well for us, cannot be allowed to walk away, just because he has recently had a dip in form .
It's hard enough for Celtic to sign, without us letting a player of Scot's ability leave the club without better signed.
